My dad Donald J. Carter
I became the payee to my Dad on 12/1/22 after my dad had 5 strokes and is living in a nursing home. On 12/4/ 22 and 12/15/22, Social Security put in a request that funds are sent back to them or a paper check be sent to the payee which is me. 3,394.30 has not been sent even when social security sent a request in January Direct Express sent 972.00 but not the 3,394.30. This is illegal and direct express can be liable under 15U.S.C. 1693h(a)(1) you can withhold funds. They said that it was fraudulent activity but no one has touched his card since December 2, 2022. After seeing that I was his new payee investigation was not done. I know that an investigation takes 45 days. Direct Express was notified through Social Security and Direct Express has not sent money back to Social Security. According to 15U.S.C1693f(c) Direct Express has broken the law

I have played hell trying to get anywhere with DIrect Express, rude people, We have a right to fight for what is right... The September charges were denied right away... No reasonable why? Paid the August payment right away... Wonder why they paid this one and not September charges... They tried to pay the October charges, but what a mess, they put the money into my account twice, now they have overdrawn my account... they can't seem to get anything right. I have sat on the phone for many many hours, to get rude people, no help, don't give a darn that we are on SS, low income, our age is no help... Just had a very rude woman today... They are really treating us elders with Elder Abuse... We need to find some attorney who would help us... Seniors can't aford to get help. We are living under poverty level as it is... Change to a good bank... Don't use Direct Expres.

My account was hacked.
On february 1'st,2023, between the hours of midnight & 8 a m.,$825.00 was scammed out of my account. The person who used it was in montego bay, jamaica. I have no knowledge who did it & nobody has access to my account/card. My monthly income is my sole income. I spoke to a direct express associate on the day of the incident & was told I could not make a complaint until 40 hours after the incident. All notes were documented.
Crappy customer service
Boost put a $10 charge on my card I did not know about and did not approve and I wanted disputed and refunded but nobody at direct Express answers the phone 5 years ago they would answer the phone on the first ring so I'm going to call the US treasurer and the attorney general somebody should shut this [censored]ing company down somebody should shut this [censored]ing company down they're USELESS!

Discrimination against a toddler and disabled mother no food
Right now I am dealing my nightmare this people don't let me used my card to anything I have a toddler with problems and require special food and milk because she has shocking problems I am disabled too I'm having a heart attack I have seizures everyday I'm having surgery 1 week ago for internal bleeding I almost died yesterday I try to order food for my daughters and they don't let me do anything I was crying desperate because I can't walk too much I live with my daughter I can't drive my neighbors hear my baby crying and they come to know my door because they know all my health conditions and I explain to them, they buy food for my baby I feel so bad because I have the money but this people always block the card right now I am in distress I call my doctor and he recommended go to hospital because I have stroke in the past I call a lawyer and they said I can use the efta law and also claim for emotional damages and put a disabled baby in danger and many more I write this crying but I don't care that's not fair she is a baby I call them I'm telling what happen and the responses from direct expre was her name is Evelyn I'm telling her I have to tell my baby 2 year old with problem wait until tomorrow to eat and she said we can't do anything u have to wait in nasty way but this people are gonna paid all the crying I have to see my baby and me tears I hope direct expre feel so proud when they name show at everywhere to put a baby and mother in distress for food and health complications

Second time this week a hold has been put on my card. The first time I was impressed with the response time calling cs, but this time I have been trying for 4 days to reach someone to reinstate my card! January 3rd I called and got my balance on my card and there was money withdrew from my account that I didn't do or authorize. I tried calling direct express & contiued getting hung up because the recording said they were overwhelmed with phone calls. I finally reached them & filed my claim on January 10th. I called last week & it's still pending. I have a partial payment due to disconnect the 23rd of this month.
Desired outcome: I need to have my partial payment made before they disconnect my service and I then have to pay my remaining bill and added to next month on top of reconnecting fee

I am fed up with the tactics employed by Direct Express and I want to sue for pain and suffering. Will an attorney take my case? Since fraudulent activity in 2018 I have had my account locked from myself without any explanation. The first time I reported fraudulent activity that was never resolved to my satisfaction. I went almost 8 months before I tried to use my card and was denied. This is happening more frequently now. I have been locked out roughly 8 times in the last year and a half without resolution. I repeatedly ask for a supervisor and an explanation. By law there are two reasons one gets locked out of their account. I have none of those. Christmas day I called crying because I am homeless now due to direct express not allowing me to access my money. I was told that my account was unlocked and I could use it. Without questions, or hesitation. I was so happy. Bam! As soon as I started to withdraw money from the ATM my account became restricted the same day. I mail in my driver's license as nd do everything required of me. Now it's my social security and birth certificate they want. Crazy secret questions to being denied because my identification is not good enough. Acceptable on Monday. Unacceptable on Tuesday. This cat and mouse game is driving me crazy. Literally without money to live they are doing this to me without explanation. I go in person to the social security office. Nothing can be done? How can they get away with this? Someone please help. My bank of America account was in fraud twice . Nobody has 888,888,880. In their account. Ilast ordered checks which they mailed to a different address than mine. So today i TOOK A SCREEN SHOT SOMEONE WAS ABOUT TO TRANFER $62.10. I AM stick I left last husband with divorce and restraining order. Transfer does not work. CSR hangs up on you.
Transfer funds to your bank doesn't work. Site claims my banking info is incorrect. It is not. The site is broken.
After waiting 2 hours on hold for a rep. I get to speak half a sentence about my issue, and the CSR blurts out, "The account isn't for that purpose," and hangs up on me. It seem only a portion of employees know how issues are fixed, because someone else did fix my one issue, once. Another gey before that did it half way, and actually wrong which screwed up my whole account. I needed a replacement card and it was not tied to my money.
There is no way to resolve any issue besides calling and likely getting someone who hates people and won't even listen to my issue answer the phone. Are CSR employees paid by number of calls answered. Even SSI is better than this, and they are horrible, leaving the phone sit on the desk without speaking a word, before hanging up.
This is what our Tax money goes to? This is what other countries want their government to be like? A proctology exam for the whole world..
Desired outcome: I don't expect anything. That would be too much to ask for obviously. Not even an average outcome. Welcome to the new normal people.

On November 13th 2022 I had to Uber charges on my account 1 for $20 and another for $25.97 I do not have Uber nor do I use Uber other than for my medical and my medical insurance pays for it so I reported it you guys had me get a new card you claim you were going to send me out paperwork which I never received on December 23rd I received the $20 and the $25.97 so I assume okay they figured out it was a mistake and you guys corrected it then today you guys removed the $20 in the $25.97 off of my direct Express today nobody notified me that it was temporary don't use it blah blah blah until the investigations over so the lady told me to email you which when I look it up on Google there's no email but she did give me she me sri which I applied above I need this investigation to continue and if you have any further questions feel free to call again I do not use Uber and and I don't have an Uber account thank you and have a good day

Direct Express Social Security debit card company you can not get thru to them and wait two hours they pick up and I told them I was on line two hours to dispute number and they said they did not know how long I had to wait and saw my dispute and then transfered back to same number and still on hold after running my battery down again and still not thru

Unauthorized credit card charges
On January 4, 2023 a charge was made to my Direct Express Mastercard by a Rising Gear for $107.55. I immediately contact their customer service to inform them that I had not made any purchases and didn't not know who or what this was. The payment was listed as "PENDING" at that time, but I was told that they couldn't do anything until the charges were pay. They told me that I had to get in touch with this unknown company and resolve the issue with them. I didn't understand that and went to the bank and removed all but $12 from the card so no other charges could be allowed. I called them back again on January 5th and was told at that time that I needed to close out the account and a new card would be issued. I was then told that I would have to call back on Monday and speak with the Fraud department to file a complaint. It is now Monday and I am unable to search anyone. I only get automated phone responses and am no being allowed to speak with anyone, Where do I go from here?
Desired outcome: I want to speak with a real person, so that I can resolve this issue and get my funds back.

I hope I'm doing this correctly I've spoke to one of your CSR after waiting two hrs just to talk with someone and this is what he directed me to do. After I realized my card was compromised I called right away. I've also requested a print out going all the way back to September to December if I see any type of charges I've never seen before be expecting me to further putting in for more claims. I've recently gotten my new card so I'm hoping this card isn't compromised in any way shape or form. This is the second time this has happened. It makes me believe this company isn't reliable. You need to do another check with your CS Reps when one finds a loop hole they will do what they want. I'm sorry but I don't see any other way someone can charge my card using my pin number. Besides you can't keep an eye on all the cards that are out there. I'm always a creature of habit and I always use my card almost always at the same stores. As far as I'm concerned I do not recognize any of the charges that have been made so I hope you are able to figure out what's been happening. i have been going through the same thing. i happen to misplace my card or it fell out of my jacket and i needed a new one or try and withdraw some from the account or transfer to a cashap or chime or something until card came in. I was told that without the card i couldnt do this i would have to wait on card to come in the mail, and even if i had the card that i misplaced it wouldnt have done me any good bc i couldnt access the money since there new card was already issued. this one operator told me the new card they were sending out to begin using this year was sent dec 29th and should be here no later than the 12th. So began the wait for the 12th to come and go with no sign of card and when i called customer service she said she seen that there new cards was mailed the 29th but that a card had not been issued for me to access my current account. I told her what the previous operator stated and had to pay $14 thur to get sent asap i finally got the card this evening. Now i can pay my bills and go get nearly all the stuff im past being out of and pay back what ive had to borrow during the great wait. But its ridiculous that i cannot transfer any money off card or out of account to my cashap card account or chime or anything, it sure would help sometimes.

I had to order another card, because my old one expire the end of the year. I was told it was put in on the 2nd and I would receive it the 3rd. Once I called the customer service the lady was very rude, and they change my order, because someone didn't do their job the first time, then when we I called back they said it was put into order for today and would arrive tomorrow after they charge me 14 dollars to do so, I ask to speak with corporate and she put me on hold only to hang up and now it is a hassle getting in touch with them.
Can't use my card
I tried to purchase an item on E bay through PayPal and they denied my card. I just used this card this morning with no trouble. The date 01/03/2023 the time about 5:30.
