failed service appointments
Our cable line came apart at the house and needs to be reconnected. Direct TV has made four appointments, July 1, July 9, July 10, July 12. NO ONE has ever showed up. Four missed appointments. It is a 2-1/2 hour drive to our house from Roseville, MN, then a 4 hour wait for no one to show up, then another 2-1/2 hour drive back to our main residence in Roseville, MN. Since you cannot provide us service, we are not paying your bill and should be let out of our service contract - since there is NO SERVICE. It has been 5 weeks with NO SERVICE. Also, your employees do not follow thru with what they say they will do. Our first phone call the end of June was to cancel the service completely. Ryan, in the customer loyalty dept, talked my husband into staying with the service for $55.00 per month for family, including a movie channel and all the sports channels. He was the one that set up the first July 1 appointment. Since that time we have been on the phone with your so called customer service departments, supervisor, managers, etc, no less than a total of 10 hours over various times to set up new service appointments. Each time we go thru the same horrible wait times and have to tell the story over and over to new people that cannot do anything. The latest fiasco was that they would give us the same deal that Ryan said he was giving us above, but for a mere $65.00 per month. Really, now to add insult to injury they did not give us what they promised - except at a higher cost. Supposedly they credited our account $75.00 and the latest phone call generated a 23.99 monthly bill for Family with a movie channel and sports. But it appears they extended our service contract, which they promised would not happen.
abc off there air in tennessee
I watch my local ABC station out of Knoxville. Because of a contact dispute with Nexstar, we can no longer get ABC. I watch that station more than half the time. Starting with the early news right up to nightline..
I am so angry about this. I don't like any of the other news stations.
These big conglomerates are using the paying customers as bargaining chips. Cancelling DirecTV will cost us money and they say there is nothing they can do.
Well, Here's a suggestion! Sit down at the table and sign the effing contact. Get the viewers back on line and stop holding us hostage!

I have been a loyal faithful customer for almost 2 years now. I recently Bondled my package with AT&T and direct tv. When they bundled me they told me I would get a big bill . A month later I get a bill for $500 ? I called them immediately and told them I would work on paying my bill I would have to make it in payments because it is such a high bill I paid $100 on it on the 4th and told them I would make my next payment on the 18th. It has now been shut off for the 2nd time in two days! The same thing has happened repeatedly! I have so many $35 charges in two years! I have asked for management or supervisor to call me and still no returned call! Please someone higher up help me. I cannot believe how bad customer survive is! Thanks Jessica vanalstine

I had opted to try the bundle deal with our new move. Upon my husband, being Military, receiving new orders and we had to move and not being able to transfer the services I called and scheduled a disconnect of services. All was said to be taken care. WRONG! First they did not cancel my services and said they must have made the note on another account. Then I start getting billed SEPARATELY from AT&T and DirecTV. I called and each time they would say "we are sorry for the inconvenience ma'am, we will correct this right away." A few weeks go by and to my surprise I received yet another bill, just higher than the last. I call again, same thing "we are so sorry... blah blah blah." Here I am almost four months later and it is still not resolved. I will NEVER recommend them EVER! Worst service. Everyone you speak to is from some other country. They argue with you. They have no clue what they are doing. BLIND LEADING THE BLIND!

I've had Direct TV for several months, I had to make a service call today because of problems with my Satellite reception after weathering through Tropical Storm/Hurricane Barry. Your technical dept was unable to fix the problem over the phone they said, and as a result I needed a technician to come out. The cost of the tech is $99 or $8.99 per month, the fact that some of my TVs are working explains to me that this is something weather related. I've had satellite service with several other companies over the years and I've never gone through anything as awful as this at such a time. I find it very disheartening that I'm going through this distortion with your company. I'm very dissatisfied with your Direct TV and will share this obvious act of backing your customer into a corner at such a difficult time. This practice seems very similar to Price Gouging and I will continue to complain.
new installation
07/13/2019 a new service installation was scheduled for the hours 0800-1200. The technician Ruben Hernandez (832-857-6190) called me and stated he was enroute and would arrive between 1100am-1200pm. I called the technician back at 832-857-6190 and he didn't answer. An AT&T representative also came out to the house and I was informed the technician was enroute. I called AT&T at 1:00pm and informed the customer service department regarding the incident. I was informed a message was sent to field service department and a supervisor would contact me. I was also informed an appointment was rescheduled for 07/14/2019 for 800am. 07/15/2019 a technician never arrived. AT&T was contacted at 9:00am and informed them a technician never arrived. I was transferred to three different departments and the issue was never resolved.

Not having Fox TV / KHNL in Hawaii for 2 weeks now. This isn't the first time this has happened and yet my rates keep going up and up. I am now going to investigate switching to Spectrum or HawaiianTelcom because this is ridiculous.
I demand that us consumers receive a credit on our next bill for services NOT received. You don't even give customers a viable alternative to complain. Certainly not on your regular Directv website. I had to google where to complain.

This is now the 3 rd week-end i have been without channel 2 .The 3rd week end i have had to miss major crimes. Also 3 weeks i have had to miss wheel of fortune.
This is very upsetting . I am paying you for a service you are not providing. I have had several friends sign up for another service due to your lack of such. There is no excuse for you taking so long to settle this problem regardless of what it is. And when we call your office all we get it very snotty responses from your employees.
Also at first we were told we would get a re-inversement for the time we were without this channel. Now we are told there will be none.
I was with dish for many years before transferring to direct. They had a simular situation once and it was solved in less than a week. Wednesday will start the 4th week with you and your employees and at& t all seem to have the attitude you really do not care.
I have a contract with you and was told i could not break it without stiff penalties yet you can break your end of the deal and we are just supposed to lay down and take it. One thing you can be sure of i would never refer anyone to direct tv after this. I would tell them to run the other way.

My name is Rayona Peck, and I am writing you out of desperation...The first part of June this year, I got direct TV and when the installation was complete, I told the installer that I needed my auto pay to be taken on the 6th of each month..he said that was no problem. That would have made my first payment on July 6th. The 6th is important because I only get paid once per month and on a fixed income.
I received an email from Direct TV on June 8th stating that may payment would be taken on June 26th. I knew that there would be no money in my checking account to cover the payment on that date, so I immediately called 'customer service at 800-288-2020 and spoke to someone named Rens...and I knew I was not speaking to anyone in the US..I tried as best I could to explain why I must have my payment taken on the 6th of each month...she assured me that would not be a problem and sent me an email on June 18th that updated my auto pay to the 6th of each month as requested. I thought the issue had been resolved, but it was just getting started.
My payment was taken on June 26th for $80.09, which put my bank account into overdraft and the bank charged me $65 overdraft fee. Needless to say, I was very upset and called customer service again and on June 27th and asked to speak to a supervisor. I spoke to Grace and told her what had happened and insisted that my bank account be reimbursed the $80.09 as well as the $65 overdraft. After a lengthy conversation she said she would authorize that and it would take about 72 hours to complete the transaction. she gave me a reference # of [protected] in case there was any problems. The $80.09 was put back into my bank account on July 2nd...way more than 72 hours and the $65 overdraft fee had never been reimbursed.
Direct TV should have taken $80.09 payment on July 6th, but they did not. On July 10th, I received an email from AT&T saying my bill was ready to view. It said that $113.23 would be taken on July 27th...Are you kidding me? Your automated service would not let me talk to a real person until $80.09 'past due balance' was paid...which of course was not past due because it should have been taken on July 6th. I called customer service again and spoke to Remc who just didn't get what I was telling her. I asked for a supervisor who was on shore in the US hoping there would be no language barrier. after being on hold for over 20 minutes I finally got someone named Olivia. I asked her if she as in the US and she said she couldn't tell me that...I went through the entire scenario again and asked her if she had the authority to make sure this would not happen again. She told me she could not do anything about it..So, I asked to speak to someone who could. I was transferred to Jay. Explained again and he told me he could not do anything either since the payment will always be taken 21 days after the billing date...I told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor...he transferred me to John who only spoke Spanish...Again, asked for a billing supervisor and was put on hold for more than 30 minutes, and then the call dropped.
To date, NOTHING has been resolve and if AT&T takes the balance of $33.14 on July 27th, I will once again be in an overdraft situation...I don't even know what the $33.14 charge is for. My monthly bill should be $80.09...
I am so frustrated and angry that I am about to pay an early termination and get another carrier. I request that I am reimbursed the $65 overdraft fee and whatever the $33.14 balance...whatever it is, be written off and that my auto pay is REALLY changed to the 6th of every month...I wouldn't think that asking AT&T to do what it said it would do is asking too much...do you?

When is Directtv putting channel 7 back on my tv!? I am very upset that i can't get this local channel. My husband pays around 107 dollars a month for this satellite. I want channel 7 back! We pay too much as it is, and not to get local channels is wrong and unsatisfactory! Please do whatever you can to get it back on! If not, we may have to get our satellite service elsewhere.

I called ask them to disconnect my account on July 17th 2019 and was told they could not disconnect until billing cycle ends which is August 6 2019 I know this is because they do not want to refund my money for dates not used. I wanted to end my service because we lost CBS from our local channels. I was also charged 70.00 because my contract ends in February 2020. I think this is a rip-off because I have and would still be charged for channels they do not offer.

We moved in april and had our service transferred to our new address. We renewed our commitment for the next two years at the previous price. My directv bill went up $70!
I called and he said that no, we commited to the higher price... [censored]!. I'm okay with paying $90 a month but not $160. I think I will bite the bullet and pay the early termination fee and switch to xfinity. Change my mind...

WORST COMPANY, EVER SHAME ON YOU DIRECTV! Since last fall I have struggled trying to get a technician out to our home to repair our service. In September 2018, we noticed 2 of our 3 boxes no longer turned on. This is our lakehouse so we were not aware there was a problem until we arrived one weekend. Long story short, we have since had 3 scheduled appointments with NO technician showing each time. That was after email confirmation stating they would arrive with a four hour window. NO SHOW. Different reasons each time and MANY phone calls of such length, I can no longer have the patience to wait another hour only to be told someone will call me to schedule another appointment to repair. Unfortunately for us Directv is the only server option but too much time and too much money has been wasted on a company that has ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. We will be cancelling after 10 years but have no choice since they clearly have NO SERVICE department. CONSUMER BEWARE!

I love how they play blame game on nexstar. Nexstar seems to have a different story on who is to blame and that looks to be direct tv. Regardless, if you cant negotiate to keep major networks on your line up you dont deserve to be in the cable business. Will cancel and move to another provider as soon as possible. I will also bad mouth and tell anyone that ever brings up cable providers how worthless direct tv is. Freaking incompetent! They should be embarrassed!

As of about 2 weeks ago 24 & 47 NBC have been block in our area these are 2 of the most watched channels in our house. If I had know they would be an issue I would have stayed with DISH by since my phone service is with AT & T the store personal asked me to switch price would be approx. the same ( not true) Please, Please, Please, get these channels back.

I paid our may directv bill by eft thru my credit union on 23 may 2019. My payment apparently went to the wrong account. I have been contacting customer service since 29 may with no resolution. I have talked to, as of today 10 different people each telling me they would personally resolve the situation. My credit union emailed proof of payment to ucpaymentclaims@att.com in 23 june. Each person I have talked to has given me new excuses/stories/lies. Today was the final straw when customer service rep charles tells me that I had the incorrect upper/case lower case letters in the address. That would have been helpful to have know earlier. So as of today 10 july my payment has not been refunded nor applied to my account. Pitiful.in this day and age of eft we all know they can find the payment. Pitiful.

I had a technician come to my home. In order to help fix my problem he installed a new dish. After he left I went out and found the old dish setting on the ground and a bunch of loose cables hanging from the dish location. When I called the servic e department and asked why the old dish was not discarded properly they told me I could do whatever. I do not appreciate having to do clean-up and now I am trying to find a proper place to discard this item which does not fit well in the back of my car.
I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and this is by far the worst service call.
I do not appreciate the way the service technician did his job or the lack of consideration by the person I talked to on the phone.

We are 15year customers. I have called numerous times on incorrect billing. We had a new roof installed and needed to reinstall a dish. Two weeks ago Ryan or Bryan came at the wrong time with no new dish. The following Friday James came and wanted to install the dish in the middle of the roof. He came late with an attitude. I asked why he could not install the dish were it was closer to the edge so when it snows and lose the signal we can reach and clean it off. He called Amber his office manager and he said he did not have to put the dish in at all per Amber. He turned to leave I asked his name and his manager he said James and Amber. A few minutes later Amber called me and wanted to know why I wanted her name she told me I was obnoxious and she was putting it in her notes she continued to berate me telling me she was not and employee but also a subcontractor. My money is green anywhere I will not be abused by your employees. Send me the paper work to return your equipment I am done.
