dear sir, regards the complaint about your channel discovery channel india. the serial name 'you have been warned'
The channel program ' you have been warned' shows a man in episodes to insult a sikh community and the show host person insult the sikh person, but the face of sikh person is make-up of sikh and acctual he is hindu, so i complaint you to don't show that episodes. I always watch your shows but insult of our religion i don't tolerance. And also strictly action agaian indian discovery channel.
discovery turbo & discovery science
I purchase Discovery Turbo & Discovery Science but it shows only Commercials(Telebrands). Now its 10.30AM(in Sri lanka) still showing Telebrands and no any related shows. Its really disgusting for such popular network.I bought these channels to watch some useful shows not for watch commercials. This is so unfair we don't want to pay for watch commercials.
deadliest catch
How dare you take josh harris off deadliest. He has heart and soul. Since losing phil we have watched the show. He is just as much a part of the originals. He is the last part of phil we have left.
How stupid can you be. Bring him back. Were one
Pissed of watcher.
Instead of removing why dont b you poll how many fans of your show love him. You must know already.
Bring his boat back. Bring him back.
You all must be from the left only democrat's would remove someone before they checked to see if he would be missed.
You all sitting in your cozy offices pushing pencils.
If were lucky another network will take the crabbing boys and listen to the fans
Josh Harris along with his boat and crew were lost at sea last week you rude dummy.
discovery channel promoting spokesperson during commercials
Do you have to have a man with such a low low voice to promote the discovery channel during commercials. What's wrong wit a normal mans voice. Very annoying to listen to, no need for a voice like that,
I mute the channel or change to another, I will eventually cancel subscription because of the stupid choice of the tone of voice you guys chose to promote this channel.
wilderness, shows, i.e., the last alaskans etc.
Discovery channel.
I love virtually all discovery shows. I am writing, I hope, to represent a personal concern that may affect many people. I am appalled at the persistent and high level of background music attached to many discovery channel shows, particularly the last alaskans. A good example is the episode "winter's edge". The stories of the people living there have plenty of drama, history, innovation, personal despair, difficulty and danger, without the need for way too loud and persistent violins, woodwinds and tekno cacophony. Please consider asking producers of shows to concentrate on story programming (Which they do very well) and to avoid attempting to "pump up the drama" with absolutely unnecessary music which simply comes across as noise and masks the generally quiet soliloquy and dialogue that are perfectly informative and instructive by themselves. These shows are at their best when they are about the simple eloquence of the people themselves, the landscapes, the hardships, the beauty and the beasts. We can't hear them half of the time, simply beacause of the overwhelming background music! Thank you for your consideration. Wayne beachley

How can you condone and pay people who continuously lie and stole money from the state of Alaska a opportunity to even be heard or seen in a show on your network, they are a embarrassments to all the hard working women and men of this free land.
You make me sick when you have other great shows to air. It shows me you rather air dirt on your network ! Your are relaying to the youth of America it is okay to lie and steal from others, your neighbors.
Hello, I would also have a comment in relation to the last Alaskans. I will now find it hard to watch the new Justin Beiber of the bush in little rich Charlie Jaygo, thanks for spoiling the show and replacing the struggle with a well off rich kid who flys around like a big shot, totally takes away from the show. P.S he is 20. What a Joke. Not unlike the spoiled brat with the rather rich family behind him Parker Schnabel "GoldRush" i found it really hard to embrace the philosophy and struggle the older characters endure in order to succeed, paralleled alongside with the luck of what family you have come from takes away from the viewing experience. You could see their faces of the old cast they did not even know who this person is let alone endorsing him on the show. At what point do you think replacing an old icon digger in bob hart, with the wannabe beiber in charlie it shows to me where the intent lies for the show in putting a young kid in this series who happens to fly an airplane is the final straw. Which came first, his lifestyle or the show in which he has probably spent the last years of his life to get on? this is the problem, who knows. Whats next "Alaska shore". Cashing in on the integrity of the other cast members makes me sick. I simply wont be watching. I'm really enjoyed you chose this kid, so stereotypical. Steven
fraud and harrassment
A guy with an indian accent calls my phone and signs me up for subscriptions that i didn't even want. I even asked the guy if this was a scam and decided that i dont want his service and want him to take all my information off. he tells me that i wasted his time and forced me to sign up saying i can just cancel next week and not get charged. I reluctantly let him. I then cancel within two days. Within a week or two i find that my checking account was being charged for magazines that i had not yet received. I then reported it to the bank and got my checking account changed. The money was refunded by the bank but now magazines keep getting sent to my house and a bill is sent to my house every months. They cant touch my money but i dont want the magazines that they send me. The magazines have no return address so i cant send it back. I CANT STAND it any more. What can i do to stop the harassment? What do i do with the magazines that keep piling up?
This guy who is clearly of Indian decscent who further tells me his name is george anderson, calls me and says they will be sending me a package with gas and wall-mart gift card after i verify my valid visa number wich they claim they already had. Yeah Right! These guys are out of their minds! dont ever give personal info via the phone or internet. Ever! But for the sake of this website i concur with the rest. scam scam scam!
WAtch out for those annoying marketing scams. I receive nothing to cancell or even knew about the subscription until they sent me to a collection agentcy. just wondering if anyone knew if this company was really sending you to the collections. thet are saying I owe them almost $1000 is this going to hirt my credit sould I give them the money and keep my credit or dont woory bout it?
I just got a call as well, they gave me info

want my credit card number for $4.95 handling charge and to validate my gift card. She was very convincing that this was not a scam and I even started to give her my card and at last 4 digit I hung up on her, she then called me back. She said we got disconnected, when I told her that they were reported for fraud, she just hung up on me.
Wow, William Venezia, that makes me feel better. I don't intend to send a dime either.
Did this hurt your credit at all?

Just now, those " indian" guys text my cell phone saying i won a wal mart gift card of 200 dollars... i called the number [protected] to confirm and they wanted credit card info... First of all, he answered the phone with a "hello" instead of anything remotely professional. And the back ground noise was so loud with screaming foriegn language. What is that about? lol Thats when i got on the internet...searched the name...this is the first thing that came up.
You ignore them and fight any charges with your credit card company. They will call you several times saying you owe them money, but you do not! Eventually I got a letter in the mail saying that my subscription is cancelled!
They will NOT send you to collections and they will NOT harm your credit.
DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME!
I received a phone call from Discover Enterprise guys name was Andrew Guntton he said that my phone number was one of the numbers picked to win a $200. Wal-mart gift card all he needed to do was verify my card number. First of all why would i be that dumb to give that info out? The number on my caller ID said promodeals when i told them that i would not give them that information they kept trying to get me to do it i was on the phone with them for 45 min. when i told them that other places has called me and when they ask for that info and i refuse to give it to them they say thank you and they hang up and i say it to them and they keep arguing with me to get that info after i mentioned that the guy said ok bye and hung up. The funny part is i was on line looking at what other people had to say about this company the same time i was on the phone you should hear them trying to say they are real and not a scam when you can clearly see it on line.

Recieved a phone call from Discover Enterprises today..it was a blocked phone call. Took the call and the person on the other end said I owe $390.00 dollars for a magazine subscription I never ordered. Ask to speak with a Supervisor and he was shady and he told you if you want to cancel I would have to pay the balance of $390. They where taking this directly out of my personal debt bank account that I never authorized. I called my Bank 800 number and had my account frozen.

scam phone call
A woman with a heavy Indian Accent will call. I got mine May 12, 2010. Says your card was selected after being used for a $500 gift card to shopping stores. The man who follows is very rude, defensive, and won't take no for an answer. When I said I didn't want anything and to delete my card number, he wouldn't. He just kept defending it. I was on these scam sites at the time, so before receiving ANYTHING from them in the mail and getting sucked into the trap, I promptly went to my bank and cancelled my credit card number for a new one.

targeting kids!, warn yours!
It appears that my son was a victim of the Discover Enterprises scam. He was talked into giving his credit union debit card number in exchange for a $500 grocery certificate if he would only pre view some magazines. What really bothers me is that when my son told them he was only 14 the guy said "Well just say you are 18". It think it is extremely sleazy of some company to try and rip off a 9th grader. They are very aggressive and kept calling him at school on his cell phone and harassing him until he agreed to their scheme. I have reported this incident to the Federal Trade Commission and I will also report it to the Virginia Attorney General's office. We will be getting his credit union account number changed. The counselor at the FTC said that anyone under age 18 can not enter into a legal binding contract so we should not be liable for any charges. Parents, please warn your children to be careful about strangers calling them on their cell phones. I told my son next time just hang up and if they keep calling, say you are going to report them to the FTC. BTW, these callers all have heavy Indian accents and go by very plain names like John Smith, Roger Brown, etc. They claim to be in Phoenix, AZ When we called back the number we get a company called "Main Stream Marketing and Grocery Savings" and a lady with an Indian accent answers the phone.

I just got off the phone with Discover Enterprises! The mans name was Marcus Fry ID#106843. While he was talking to me I googled Discover Enterprises and up popped all the scam reports. He told me all about the $500 Walmart gift card that I won through a random picking. He said all I had to pay for was the $6.98 shipping and handling fee. That much for the shipping of a card? I told him I don't have any credit cards. He asked me for a debit card, I told him I don't have one of those either. He asked me if their was anyone else in my family that had one, I told him it was just me and my three sons. He then pushed one of the phone buttons and held it down (that really hurts the ears!) and hung up. I called them back with the number from my caller ID: [protected] and one of the first options is to get on their "no call list". I selected that so hopefully it works. I really despise those who try to screw me over.
scam!
A guy with a very heavy Indian accent called me on April 21, 2010 and told me that me and 25 others were randomly chosen and we all won 500 $ to any grocery store of our choice. but with a shipping fee of 4.95 $
He gave me his name : Roysten Smith and ID number : 50317. He told me that they were located in Phoenix AZ but the number he called from was a california number. I looked up the company while I was on the phone and the first thing that popped up was "Cheat AND Scam!"
I asked him about it and he put me to a supervisor. The supervisor said that it was a fake website people put up to play tricks. Then he started to get really rude, I tried to see if I didnt have to give him my credit card number and do something else instead and he said "Absolutely noT! there is no way we can do this without it." he just kept talking and talking but i couldnt understand him well at ALL.
So I just told him to take my number off the list and all he said was "Okay." and that was it! notthing else after all the other yaking. so i hung up.

unsolicited calls
I received numerous calls on my cell phone from the above listed number. When I finally took the call, someone (supposedly) named Steven Jones was on the line with a heavy Indian-like accent. He tried to tell me that my number had been chosen to win a $500 gift card for groceries, but originally hesitated when I asked him for the name of the company that worked for. He read off my cell phone number and stated that my home number had been selected as a winner. When I pressed him for information on his company's name, where and how he got the number that he called, he only repeated himself.
Eventually I was passed along to a "verification officer". Someone named Shannon got on the line with an equally heavy Indian-like accent and tried to verify what Steven tried to tell/sell me. When I pressed her for the company information and how did they get my information, she repeated herself 2-3 times and eventually hung up on me.
The one bit of information that "Shannon" did give me was that "they" got my information from my Visa company and that they were only trying to send me my "winner's package".
If anyone gets a similar call, I strongly recommend that you DO NOT agree to anything. If and when possible, push them on everything and anything you can. They backed off and ultimately hung up on me when I pushed them.

scam
Discover Enterprises IS FAKE thanks to this site I know that for sure..thanks a lot. Me and my wife got a text one day saying that we had won a 200 hundred dollar wal-mart gift card...and it never came. We were cautious or so we thought. Yes we made the mistake of giving them all of our information because to me and my wife our prayers had been answered. Something should be done. Not only were we broke in the first place but just got a baby out of the hospital. These people are nothing but vultures praying on innocent people. urgggggh. But when we found out about this scam from this site we had to change our bank account. THANKS!

Company at fault: Discover Enterprise Magazine Membership
I have been receiving a few magazines in the mail that I, now my wife has ordered. I have tried on several occassions to contact the above listed company to no avail. There isn't telephone number, email addres or an address to the person directly involved with selling this crap. Today I received a bill in the mail for $79.92 for magazines I never ordered and were sent to me anyway. I am NOT paying this bill as I never agreed to having them sent to me. You either take this charge and any further charge off my credit and refrain from turning me over to collectoins or I will first, file a police report against your company for fraudulent practices as well as contact the BBB. Either way it is your choice but you should know, I will not be paying any money into your company for something I didnt order. I can be reached by cell [protected]. That is my wife's number. Her name is Mary Smith and I give her consent to speak to you on my behalf as I am always in the field. That number is a Korean number as we are stationed here and we are 17 hours ahead of you. I can also be reached via email at mary.[protected]@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you soon wherein you advise me that this fraudulent charge has been expunged my records and that you have removed my name and telephone number from you call list.
Very Truly Yours,
Roderick Smith

gift card/credit card scam
I was sent a text message on my cell phone today saying " Hi Jane, Thanx 4 visiting our site Call [protected] to Claim Your FREE $200 Gift voucher to Walmart!
GiftCode: 7838e7a6.
I call the number and some man from an Indian decent answers saying thank you for calling Discover Enterprises and askes for my gift code#. I give it to him and ask what web site this was from and he says the name of the compony again. He then goes on to tell me that I need to decide of which two items I am going to try for a 30 free trial. One of them being subscriptions to some sort of magazines and I could not understand the other and then askes me which credit card I would like to use to pay for the one time only cost of $9.95 to ship the gift vouchers out to me. Unbelievable! Really?
Watch out! They are fast talkers and are only out to get your credit card info and totaly screw your credit and any funds available that you may have... Some people have no shame or concience...

Yes, Its very true. I received the same message and the guy over the phone asked me to pay $ 7.75 for shipping asked for the credit card information. While I was on the phone with him I googled information about this Discover Enterprises and all I could see was scams and fraud So I just hung up. Please don't fall for it.
Wow, that describes my situation perfectly. I pushed and pushed for info about the company and why they were texting me and the lady I talked to gave me very general information. Very sketchy. I tried to ask all of this information and her only reply for the first few times was "well if you can give us your card payment information then that information will be sent to you." A scam if I ever heard one.
I got the same text message saying I had won a $200 gift card from Walmart. It had SCAM written all over it. I just deleted it
Yep, I got the same text, and more likely the same the same person, only the name was SIMONE JONES which set off alarms in my head.where did a indian decendent get that name? told him it sounds like a scam and hung up.BEWARE OF THIS.
I just received the same text message and got a gentleman of an Indian decent as well. The best part is that his name was Jason. That was the first tip-off that I was being set up. DO NOT respond to any text messages from these people.
fraudulent magazine sales
Discover Enterprises has been sending us magazines that we did not subscribe to, and have been demanding that we pay in full immediately. We get harassing phone calls from them on a daily basis. We have already been turned over to a collection agency, which, conveniently is also run by Discover Enterprises. We have asked them to cancel our subscriptions, but they will do so only if we pay in full. Representatives of the company are rude and threatening. Avoid these criminals at all costs!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I got a text from them saying I won $200 Walmart giftcard. An Indian guy with an American name called me and told me I would receive the giftcard and after 30 days I could decide whether I wanna receive the magazines. I got a non-sealed envelope in my mail-box 2 days ago about the magazines i had supposedly subscribed for and another mail today saying they would start charging me within 3-5 days. Ofcourse, they didn't mention anything about giftcards...
I canceled my bank-card, and I called them to cancel the subscription telling them I knew it was a scam. The guy didn't care what I had to say about the scam, as if he already knew what I was talking about, and he couldn't wait to hang up the phone after telling me he canceled my account.
I told him about the Indian guy, he didn't really care...which makes me certain he's an affiliate, not just a phone operater.
What I don't get is.. how can they get away with is for such a long time using the same company name?
I dono want all of these magazines there not even what im into
I am in the same situation - Ironically, I was lead into a free trial program for financial education materials "Road to Wealth" when all I was really getting was scammed out of $800 of magazines I told the sales person "I DID NOT WANT - FREE OR NOT" because I do not ever have time to read magazines.
I am taking legal steps in this matter as follows ...
1) Contacting my bank about letting my visa bank card number (actually the one my husband's name is on) be so
easily accessed and charged
2) Contacting a lawyer
3) Reporting this to the Better Business Bureau
4) Calling the magazines that we received (none of which I would ever subscribe to) to report that they are going to
have their name publicly brought into this SCAM!
5) Reporting this to my local news channels (and possibly - because I do not know how to get the story covered -
contact the news shows on network channels including ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. ) to make this scam public
At this point it is not just about the money they scammed (tricked)me out of but also the principle of matter. I think that I am an intelligent individual that got tricked out of money that I never would have agreed to had their "Verification Process" - you know, the one that they say so quickly that you would need a degree in auctioneering to ever understand or hear all the details, had not been so quickly stated. This is how they got me. The original scammer (Brian - ext. 267) got mad at me and had to start the recording over 2-3 times because I kept interrupting him about the free magazines.
As of right now, I have been scammed. My money and bank account have been stolen/jeopardized, And I am about to spend some passionate time taking steps to make sure that this does not happen to others. I can not even imagine the money that people without the will, energy, or know-how get taken for by this "company".
Stick to your guns and take steps to make this as public as you can - there is power in numbers!
You ignore them and fight any charges with your credit card company. They will call you several times saying you owe them money, but you do not! Eventually I got a letter in the mail saying that my subscription is cancelled!
They will NOT send you to collections and they will NOT harm your credit.
DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME!
so what has happened to you guys. I had never heard of them, and i just got a letter saying i owe them 40 bucks. they keep calling, and i wana know if i should just ignore them or pay.
scam and cheating
I received a call from this company stating that my credit card had been used by accident to sign up for some promotions offered by their company. This agent, Arron Butler, claimed he was a supervisor and was giving me a courtesy call in order to get the charges stopped before they reached my account. He told me it gets hectic in this telemarketing...
