Dish TV is using all dirty tricks for fleecing the customer. If customer wants to see only free-to-air channels, gradually dish TV starts blocking these channels too for example they have blocked 'Aj Tak' and Star Utsav under the garb of 'signal not available'.
Beware people!
Dish TV's after sales service and customer care are non-existent. A day after installation, the signal vanished. The dealers appeared to have vanished as well, as they refused to answer their phones.
Complaints to dish TV customer care were of no avail, so we stopped payment of the cheque. Even that took three weeks to register! Finally, service was restored and a fresh cheque issued.
Thereafter, the signal has vanished again and despite FIVE complaints and promises of rectification within 48 hours, no one has shown up.
After having surfed the web and found that I am only one among dozens of hapless consumers who have suffered endless aggravation from Dish TV, I am contemplating approaching the consumer court, so that Dish TV is forced to clean up its act once and for all.

During the India's world cup matches, whenever Doordarsan telecasted live matches, Dish TV blocked DD National channel. When contacted Dish TV customer care (bunch of fools) no proper justification. They just want to make money, no proper service. Customer care is hopeless.
I agree because whenever i call 2 the custom care that the phone is either busy or not answering properly. Now i may complain is that i lost few channels since few days and our favorite channel i.e. ETVMARATHI is not on the list .
I have been facing one problem on dishtv from the time i have purchased it. I have complained about the matter over 5 times in dishtv customer care but nothing was done as such. The problem is like this there are few channels who's picture quality is not good. I dont have a technical knowledge so i can tell you the exact word for that but i can describe the problem. Have you ever seen a corrupted CD, mark my words corrupted CD not scratched CD, the images are blurred and small squares of digital signal are visible. The channel are toon disney, disney channel, zee cafe, channel v, star utsav, tv5 monde, zee trendz, fashion tv, sahara up.
Here too the same case. They are telling we have to 500Rs for 6 months to see the free-to-air channels. I dont know what is going. Tried registering for online service. In the email there was a typo. Now I'm unable to re-register or change the incorrect email id. Mails and customer care numbers went to deaf ears... So pathetic service... Planning to go for Cable operator itself. He is better than this customer care guys...

Somebody should ASK Mr Subhash Chandra who claims to be great INNOVATOR (perhaps in inefficiency as well as cheating) as to what is really happening about the complaints.
As of June 1st 2007 ( when DD changed all its channels to INSAT latest satellite) all the DD channels are missing. They nevertheless exist in the MENU but to what USE. Subscribers are possible unaware of the fact that packages of different groups of channels like, zee, sony, star etc are all taken from different satellites and mixed and provided through one satellite towards which the DISH Antenna points.Therefore after charging the money for the entire package it is obligatory on the part of the Dishtvindia to the required technical exercise in the shortest possible time and make available the channels.
In addition if I had renewed my subscription on Aug 12th 2006, before the completion of 11 months some channels have been access as the SCREEN shows. Channels like Zee TV, SONY, NDTV Hindi. There are frequent channel updates but nothing really is updated except changing the location of the channel in the MENU.
And these days of computer and internet, it is a shame that an Email ID which informed me of the activation (i.e. the renewal ) last year August doesn't exist anymore. The mail send to them BOUNCES.
One more technical problem that has come up in the last one month is the frequent ( once every five minutes or so ) freezing/ fragmentation of the picture on any channel for 4 to 5 seconds. This is obviously due to improper/ poor maintenance of the equipment at the ground station.
Are these set of complaints not sufficienca42et.
I subscribed to Dish TV 1 year ago (a huge mistake! I now think) Soon, I started having all sorts of troubles. One day they disconnected the service citing some charges. I interacted with their Customer Care and disputed the charges. They reversed the charges finally, and restored the service. Now 1 month ago, they again, disconnected the service. Upon inquiry, I found they were again bringing back the issued settled earlier. I mailed the earlier email etc and asked for detailed statement of charges and/or restoration of service. But there is no response despite several reminders and phone calls.

I agree because whenever i call to the customer care of dishtv india, the customer care peoples always replied like a repeated words such as negotiation with relevant broadcaster is going on and it has been going to since one month and also we dont knows that how long it will goes. I want to say that how long would be negotiations to sorting out the any possible problem . Is it proper reply? Now I may complain is about our favorite channels i.e. ETVBihar, Sahara samahay, sahara bihar which are not in the list of EPG.
In last the customer care persons should know to each and every relevant matter who ask a customers as a relevant quarries. A fully functional customer care should have proper knoweledge of the system otherwise no meaning to say a customer care.

Some great services from Dish TV. No other service provider can be more irritating than dish TV.
I registered for dish TV at the start of the 20-20 world cup, and they installed the dish TV after 15 days (on 29th sept, 2007) after the end of 20-20 worls cup.
When they installed, they told that i will start receiving the pay channels within 4 to 24 hous.
But i did not receive the channels and i called them after 4 days.
As usual the pick up th ephone after 2-3 minutes of ringing (thank god, they pick the phone).
They always have one excuse and they will tell that we will resend the signal, wait for 4 to 24 hours.
I still can not understand the funda of 4 to 24 hours.
I think they are sending the signal in train or flight, therefore it takes 4 to 24 hous.
Even if it takes 4 to 24 hours, I do not have any problem.
But today it's already 9 days after installation, still i have not received the pay channels.
Now i think i have 2 options with me, go to the consumer court to file a cheating case against them and also give this input to some newspaper to publish, so that everybody should no about the service of dish TV and be ready for the trouble if they are going to buy dish TV.

It takes only 5 min to buy dishtv, just go to any dealer, pay money, complete and submit the enrollment form and its all yours. And with in next 24 hrs service engnieer will visit your home and get installed. Nothing more, even I have done the same and able to get all the channels in 24 hrs of the purchase.

After the expiration of my subscription, I am able to watch only FTA channels for only about 2 weeks, after that I get a message displayed on my screen to contact customer care, how they can block me of watching FTA channels , if I don't want to subscribe them again...

I had subscribed upto 24/08/2008, but none of the channels are coming from 21/5/2008, when asked dishtv executive are saying the amount has been refunded, but are not giving proper details of refund the communication in english is so bad they repeat the same sentence again and again.

Hi… DishTV is the most pathetic customer care service one could ever come accross.
1.Toll free Call center numbers are always busy
2.Paid call center numbers put you through long waiting time before some one responds.
3.Once you could reach the call center executive he/she seeks so many information so you start regretting why you were so desparate to talk !
4.After explaining complete details, the call center executive puts you on hold and the call gets disconnected.
5.Keep on re-trying and same event will repeat for 10 times (believe me… it has happened with me)
6.11th time that call center guy told me that he is not able to fetch my account details on his computer so call back after 15 mins.
7.I also tried to login my complaint through their website which works fine when you renew your account and pay online, but once you fill in the complaint & press submit button … it just refuses to respond !
8.Tried sending email to both the email ids mentioned above… no luck/response so far :-(
9.My local dealer is an absolute cheat and hence i resorted to make payment online. (no help expected from him any more)
10.Accounting system is utmost clumsy and ambigious… inspite of making annual renewal it still says 3.22 Dr.
11.Annual renewal date is short of 5 months… god only knows why ! (renewal date was originally 24 may 2008, i renewed it on 21 may 2008 and the next renewal date it shows is 21 Jan 2009) … whoof !
I don’t know whom should i contact in such situation and regret my decision of buying DishTV more than ever now.

I made a request to take out the dish from one home of mine to other one 5 days ago.The ppl who came in after 24 were not aware that they had to reinstall the dish at different place so they did not touch it and left assuring they will be back after 24 hours with proper gadgets and equipment required. But no one came back for 2 days and when they came back yesterday they were not able to fix the dish because of faulty equipment... So I am really reverting my decision of choosing Dishtv over Tata sky. I was not aware that the dish tv staff is so much incompetent and uninformed... U guys don't realize how much problem these type of customer service can create... This is a perfect example of BAD no WORSE customer service... i am still not sure that complaint would be stuck with some call center or will get through to dishtv management... Pls improve ur level of service as customers are paying u... U guys are charging a hefty amount and u need to give service for that. Now i realize every one prefers tatasky over DishTv...

In recent weeks local Channels 9, 18 and certain Dish channels on occaisions have had a half screen blackout. The black-out is discontinued during advertising breaks. This is a nusience thing that lends its self to manipulation of viewers away from these channels. To give a specific example: In March of this year, the NCAA Basket Ball finals was shown on only one local channel. I believe that it was channel 12. The only other channel that it was available was a paid channel.
Dish TV provides one of the worst service, the day will come when tata sky and airtel tv will eat their business.
I am a new Dish Customer and to be honest with you I am very unhappy. I feel that I have been misled, lied to, treated poorly, experienced horrible customer service, been given the run around, and overall have had a horrible experience with your company to date.
My issue is the following, to be clear:
I did a lot of research deciding if we were going to go with your company, DISH or with your competition DirectTV. I spoke with numerous Salespeople and can give you their names and ID Numbers as well. Here are the facts:
• When we purchased Dish, I explained to the Rep how we watch TV. The Rep told me that what they were putting on the account and giving us would allow us to do exactly what we wanted to do. This was a lie, but I didn’t find out it was a lie until after installation and figuring out how to use your system.
Here is how we watch TV, this will help going forward so that you understand what I told the Rep and how the equipment that we were sold/given doesn’t match or allow us to do what we want to do.
We have 3 rooms. Living Room, Bedroom and Attic.
My fiancé watches TV in the Attic and I mainly watch TV in the Living Room and Bedroom.
I am rarely in the Living Room and Bedroom at the same time, so the Rep suggested that we mirror those TV’s, which I was fine with.
Here is the scenario that I gave the Rep:
It’s 10pm, I am in the living room watching TV live and recording another show on another channel at the same time.
My fiancé is in the Attic watching live TV and recording another show on another channel at the same time as me (10pm).
The Rep that we spoke with told me that the plan would include the channels that we specifically wanted, which was true. I was also told that whatever Receivers he was sending would allow us to do that. I was also told even though with the mirroring, I would have remotes for all 3 TV’s. I only have 2. This was a lie.
Our current situation, the equipment that we were sold does NOT allow us to watch TV how we want to. We were misled and flat out lied to just to get a sale.
When the installer came, and told me that he only had 2 remotes, I let that slide, because at the time, I know that mistakes sometimes happen and I thought that I was working with a reputable company that would provide excellent customer service and a good product (television service).
I have spent well over 15 hours on the phone with various Reps at Dish. I have wasted a lot of my cell phone minutes and my valuable time. I have been given the run around and I am at the point of wanting to return the Dish and go to your competition and give them my business.
So, after realizing that our Dish Receivers/programming didn’t work the way we were promised. I called Customer Service. I was given the run around and no one would help me. They thought that I was just trying to get something for Free, which I wasn’t. I just wanted Dish to make it right and give us what we were initially sold on.
Please note, I do have every REPs Name and ID as well and can provide this to you as well.
So, I was getting nowhere with Customer Service and remembered that I kept the Salesperson’s number that I initially spoke with. I called the Sales Office. Mike Remembered speaking with me actually and apologized for giving me the wrong set up and that is when we brought his boss Ulysses into the conversation. Ulysses wanted to make it right, since his employee told a Customer the wrong information. Ulysses was able to issue me whatever additional equipment that I needed as well as the remote, based on fixing the mistake that his Rep made. He apparently put a Promo Code into your System for this. It just so happened that we were have Technical Issues with our Dish and I had a Level 4 Tech coming out on Sat, so what Ulysses did was add the additional equipment to that job for Sat. This all happened on a Monday or Tues, then come Sat when the Tech comes to my house. He is completely unaware of any additional equipment. I have a printed email from your company telling me that I was going to be receiving it.
So, with the Tech standing in front of me, I called Ulysses. He wasn’t in, so I spoke with Troy. While I had Troy on speaker, the Tech called his contact Esmeralda at Dish as well and he put her on speaker. So, the 4 of us could all here each other. Esmeralda was very rude and told me that Corp took back the Promo that Ulysses gave me because it was unauthorized. They didn’t even have the decency to call me prior to the Tech coming on Sat to tell me that they were taking back on their Managers promise to make things right. Did I mention, that I have a printed email from your company stating that I was getting the additional email. So, we had everyone on the line and we all could hear each other. Then Esmeralda hung up on me. I wasn’t rude and I found her treatment towards me to be extremely unprofessional. I am still trying to get in contact with her Supervisor to explain to them how their employee is treating Customers. The Tech that was standing in front of me heard her and Troy from Sales who was on the phone heard her hang up. A minute later Troy told me that she notated the account that I hung up. Then Troy told me that he then added a follow up note saying that he heard her hang up. So Troy told me that he couldn’t do anything without Ulysses who was the Manager. The Tech helped us get the TV to work, by the way which was a very simple fix that should have been able to be fixed over the phone, but your phone tech’s were not able to do help over the phone, my fiancé spent at least 2 hours trying to trouble shoot over the phone prior to the Tech coming out. Just a quick mention, the Tech was very unhappy that he had to do such a simple service call, when it should have been able to be worked out over the phone. The Tech was Galen. He was very nice and professional. To be honest with you, he is the only person that has treated me with a professional attitude throughout this whole ordeal.
So, after Esmeralda hangs up, Troy tells me that he will tell Ulysses what happened and they will escalate the “hanging up” issue to Esmeralda’s boss as well as the removal of my Promo to get the equipment that I was promised. I had to call Ulysses and Troy to follow up almost every other day. They never once gave me a courteously follow up call to give me a status update even if it was to let me know that they didn’t have news, but were still working on it.
I am an Inside Sales Manager, if any of my Reps treated our Customers or Prospects in the manner that you are treating me, I would fire them in a minute. I am not just someone who is looking for something Free. I am a Customer who wants to be treated with respect and to work with a Company that I feel appreciates my business.
I can’t tell you how many times I called in, but I can promise you it’s near the 30 times mark at this point. I keep calling in and asking for Ulysses and I’m told he is out of the office or on the phone and will call me back. He never does. Then one day, I believe that he actually answered the phone and pretended to be someone else. This is absurd at this point.
I call in yet again on another day and get Heather F90, she was rude and told me that she would transfer me to the legal dept. because at this point I am sick of the run around and I am going to pass your legal info onto my lawyer and let them handle it. I’ve wasted too much of my time. I asked Heather for the number, she said she couldn’t give it out, but that if we were disconnected she would call me back right away. I asked her to promise to call me back if we were disconnected. She hung up on me and I never heard from her again. Per Heather, she said that a 3rd party sales company where Mike P1L and Kim (From Sales) who sold me the equipment were from, were actually not Corp Dish employees and that I needed to work out the issue with them. Heather said that they actually had the right to issue me the credits and give me the equipment, but they would have to absorb the charges for their mistake. Heather wouldn’t give me the name of the 3rd party company that sold me the service, she said that she couldn’t find it in her system.
So, after getting hung up by Heather, I call back into Sales, Mathew KU7 tells me that Ulysses is no longer with the company. Then I go over and explain my situation to him, expecting him to pick up the ball since he is now the “Manager”. “He has been for the past week”, he says. I also must add at this point, he is a very “green” manager and lacks management and customer service skills. He tells me that he can’t help me and to call Customer Service. He was short and rude with me. I told him that I wanted to speak with his boss, whoever was Ulysses boss as well. He told me that he was the Boss. I told him that he obviously reports to someone and I asked to kindly speak with that person. Then he puts me on hold in a very rude manner and guess who is on the line, it’s Ulysses. He told me that he was transferred to another dept. Mathew lied to me and told me that he was no longer with the company. This is another lie that a Dish Rep has told me. Ulysses explains to me that he did his best to try to help me, I don’t believe him at this point, but he puts me in contact with Caesar Garza PWE and Caesar takes my info listens to the situation that I have now probably explained for about the 40th time and promises me that he would get back to me by the end of the week. This was on May 5th around 8pm EST. I haven’t heard from him since. I have left him numerous messages and NOTHING>>>>>>
I have been lied to, over promised and under delivered, treated poorly and have just simply to put it = been strung around and have wasted a lot of time. But, now it’s the principle of it. I want your company to make it right.
I should NOT have to pay for additional equipment, when I was initially told what I was getting is what I needed for how we watch TV. I was also told that I have to pay to have someone come back out. This is absurd that your company is not willing to own up to a mistake made by a Commissioned and Untrained Salesperson. Mike P1L
Per your Reps, I need Dual Receivers for both the Attic by itself, then a Dual for the Living/Bedroom Mirrored TV’s. I would also like a remote for the Living Room as promised. I should NOT have to pay for this since I have an email stating that I am getting equipment but never received it. I also have very detailed notes of who I spoke with and what about.
I am asking for someone in upper management or at an Executive Level to contact me immediately. If not, I will simply pass this onto my Lawyer and you will hear from her within the next couple of weeks.

My VC number is [protected]. My subscription renewal date was July 02 . 2010. After confirming the amount to be depoisted, I deposited a cheque of Rs 3200/= well before the due date for renewal of my subscription for Dish tv for a period of one year for Platinum Pack. I had changed over from my last year Titanium pack to Platinum Pack. I cancelled my UTV pack.
After repeated calls to your callcenter my subscription has been renewed only till 24 April 2011, that is only 10 months where as I have paid for one year.
I was told by your call center that Extra 20% of time will be added to enhance my subscription till end June 2011. But till date it remains till 24/04/2011.
You may like to see why this harrassment is being done to me. Well it does not speak very high about the reputation of Dish tv

I doubt whether this complaint will have any effect but it is worth trying
Today I had a Dish Supervisor tell me that even though we upgraded to the Dish 120 package that we lost the Hallmark Channel which our family watches alot. We would never have upgraded if their trained customer support people would have said, "Sir, you need to know that if you upgrade to the 120 package from the Family package that you will lose certain channels." At least if they would have told me that I would have been able to ask smart questions like: What channels would I lose or would I lose the Hallmark Channel of Fox News?
But instead I assumed that by "Upgrading" that I would basically append to what we already had. That seems to be reasonable to assume. However this was not the case and I asked to be put back on the original plan in which they told me they could not because it not longer exists. Once again we got screwed.
My adivce to you is to drop your Dish and Direct TV when your contract comes to an end and get the Net Flix box for $65 and pay the $9/mo for their service. It is so much better and you can pick what you want. As it is now we will be able to drop our contract in April of 2011 when it ends. We will have two things to celebrate then...the end of our enslavement to Taxes on the 15th of April and the end of our corporate contract with Dish.

now as you people are saying that you cannot downgrade your pack from platinum.
what is this discripency if it is the condition than you people should clear the customer at the time of purchase
but in my case it is not known. so, why should I suffer.

we will not use dish TV any further rather I suggest to go for Tata Sky because condirions are clear while purchasing. i cann't tolerate this because i have taken best but i don't know that it is wrost.
if it is true than please take back your DishTV from me.
i cann't afford it. this means that you are bounding users to take this Pack.
i will not suggest any body to take DishTV. the caompany is
doing fraud with their customer and after customer you have to bound with them.

hello repectd sir. today i have purchased 2500 coupan from oxigen center.
i have to recharge dishtv account. but it cannot be recharged. i call to dish tv Paid helpline [protected]. they say our system is not working. we will call back. evening time i recieve call from this Number [protected]. Raju from dish tv. he said u have many time compliant in dish tv center, your account is not recharging. i say yes sir. i face this problem from noon. he say you can tell me your E-Pin Number of Oxigen vocher. i recharged your account from my system.
and i creat compliant or forrward your mail to upper senoier person.
i write down the all my E-PIN to that person
sir proble is genrate here then our account is recharged 450 on the support or 2000 amout is pending. i check my account throw IVR they reply ur account is update for 22sep 2011. i am shocked. then i call to Dish helpline.
They said we have no responsible for any other consistance call. sorry we cannot do anything.
So sir please give me satsifies answer. or sort out my problem.

We are senior citizens .At present my wife is out of country .I left for Hyderabad on 30 Sep and returned on 4 rd Oct . The TV which was working well on 30 no channel was available . I made a complaint on 5 was promised in next 24 hrs it will be sorted out .After 24 hours as nothing has happened I made a compliant the same thing was said in next 24 hours it will be taken care of .Again nothing happened when I called again [protected] same message I have lost my temper and gave them a shouting .Later I get a call at 16.03 and told in next 6 hours it will be repaired . Morning when I called the number it was disconnected a number of time .Called up toll free number waiting for service this is after more than 85 hours .I paid for WC Cricket and could not watch on TV . This is not the first time we have been suffering this poor service for some time now. I am a subscriber from 2006 .Now I definatlely plan throw this out .My wife was looking for a SVBC ( Tirupthi ) channel which was religious channel suddenly it is stopped .What I was paying 360 with 10 % discount for long period booking today I am shelling 420 with absolutely pathetic service .Some one can take all the dish, set up box etc free now .Back to Cable TV which is giving better service now . mySubscriber number [protected]
