they keep giving me the run around
On Saturday Feb 27 I ordered a washer/dryer from easyhome, paid a month on it to be told that it would be delevered on Tuesday, Tuesday March 2 came and I never received my washer/dryer, I called them to ask when it would be arriving at my place to be told that the truck was on the road and that i would get a call from them as soon as the truck got back..I never received the call so the next day I called again and they told me the same thing. they keep giving me the run around
getting merchandise
I rented from easy home and sure I was late...but they had no right to just come into my home and then harass my daughter, son and nephew. First my daughter is only 16 and my son and nephew don't even live with me. They both live upstairs from me. They were told that I wasn't home and they waited in the hallway saying that my purse and keys were in the house and my car was in the driveway. My nephew then went into my apartment to see if I was there and they told him that he was trespassing. First of all he can come into my house, he has my permission to come in. They don't! And when they finally did take their fridge. I told them that they only had 2 mins to get it out, it took them 10 mins making me late for work, and they gouged my floor up. When I told them about it they said that the fridge had rollers and couldn't scratch my floor. That's bull, the back of the fridge did the damage. Going to seek legal council on this one.

bad warrantee
first the tv sound quit working properly they tried to fix it but it came back worse then they gave us a cheap toshiba tv all scratched up used and said that was good enough and the reclining chair fell apart twice and finally took the chair to fix it but said it was beyond repair then sent out a dirty used chair that was in worse shape than the original one and told us we cant phone the bbb but we did i really hope we dont get ripped off we have been lied to we waited six months to try to get warrantee from then to no avail

Hi, my name is Ann L****** I deal with the store in New Minas, and I am having more issues then I should be.On
January 29th I had a car accident and my doctor put me off work until
the end of March, or longer depending on how I heal. On February 6th
when I went in to make my payment I asked about going through the
insurance, because I pay the $2.99 a week, and they told me they ( Megan
) would get everything in order and call me to come in and fill out the
proper paper work, so I waited... February 12th I call down, to find
out the papers had been there, and given no reason why I wasn't called, I
went down that night, filled them out ( as Megan told me how too ) and I
left my doctors note with her, she said she would talk to Angela ( the
manager ) the next day, my payments would be covered right away and if
anything needed to be fixed they would call me right away... so again, I
waited...Saturday ( the 15th ) comes, I call down to find out if
everything is good, Angela answers, tells me nothing is done right and
my payment was due THAT day, as I told her, I'm on EI, and because of
the accident I had another tow bill come outta me, and asked if I could
move my payment up until Monday the 17th...after getting lippy she says
yes, but that because I didn't call down she would be charging me 2
days of late fees per item... So I start to do a little...lets say
research, I called a few different easy homes in the area to ask about
the insurance, and how I was to go about it, and each person I talked to
told me the same thing, that 1 form my doctor filled out, 1 form my
employer filled out, I was to fill out nothing...So Monday comes, I
call down to see if Angela would be there so I could talk to her,
because this is going on 3 weeks of dealing with them to get the
insurance, she starts to get mouthy telling me she never answered my
call on Saturday, and telling me its up to me to keep them on the ball
to get it...so I go down...to my surprise she has left the building,
knowing I was on my way...Thankfully Chris was there, and give me the
forms and told me to bring them back to him, and how Megan didn't know
what she was doing and that Angela was in fact there on Saturday.
Now I understand you have a lot of stores to look after, but
this is a horrible way to treat a customer...I have never been late on
a payment, I took all my business from Simply Living and went to Easy
Home because of the deals...now thats a huge regret on my behalf...I
pay for the insurance, and since I had my accident I have paid $232.00
in payments that should of been covered by my insurance... Because of
this and the way I was treated by the manager, I'm not sure if I will
be keeping my items, nor will I be telling people to go to Easy Home, I
am totally sickened by this... So now here I am, writing to you with
some hopes that something will be done, if not, I will have no choice
but to return my business else where, once I am able to return to
work...which stinks, I love my products, but I do not love the
service...
So hopefully you can help me, if not I lose all my faith in Easy Home, and will give Simply Living all my business.You can reach me

theft/fraudulent/deceitfulness
I first began dealing with easy home 3 yrs ago in another town. I was re-sured that my account would be transferred with us, and no need to worry. I was given an option to take my product with me, or bring it back and I would go into the store of my new location and pick up the same product(s). Well, once I got here to Sarnia, this is where our night mares began. I had to pay 3 administration fee's cause they couldn't transfer my file (so they said) and I had to pay cash up front, I had to insure with them, the list goes on on on on and on. After not hearing back from the store once I finally got half of the product I had already paid for, it was 2 months later that I called in and apologized for not coming in to discuss all of my concerns about them, I met a whole new team of employees. I was told that everyone who had previously worked there was fired cause of fraudulent activity...nothing more was said. I don't believe anything has changed, other than this crew was sought to be more devious and sneaky about their ways. I was told that all the money that I have put into the items, would always stay in the store, but that my almost $3000.00 has disappeared with no trace. Me having receipts didn't matter cause the previous employee could of been making deals with customers...HOW INSULTING! So, at this point, I was un easy and should of pulled out of the whole renting or leasing of anything to do with easy home...but I was a full time student, with a fixed income. I was paid every second Tuesday...and was also told that they would not accommodate having my payment on that day, so instead I en cured a $10.00 late fee per week. that adds up. I asked them to fill out a form to take it out of my account automatically, NOP! wouldn't do that either cause they said if I didn't have the money there it would cost them money...WOW! I wasn't the one making up these ridiculous lies, they were. I always had them paid every 2 weeks... Some how my payment schedule was changed, to make me look worse and worse...
Then to make matters worse, I would have phone call after phone call, while they knew, when I got paid, and when I would be in... they just wanted to bother me. I finally changed my number. Then, they posted my billing information in the lobby of my apartment building...how embarrassing was this? I contacted a lawyer, and was told that with the proof, and pictures I had, and the signed affidavits I had from all of my neighbors, I could have the product I was paying for 3x's over cleared of any debt owning and own my product...but, I decided, not to take it that far, and called and told them if that were to happen again, there would be harsh consequences for there embarrassing actions towards me.
I could go on and on about how wrong this company is, and how they treat people like 2nd class citizens, but I think you all can relate to most of what I've said... I finally said...F&^K IT and went and bought myself a brand new True Slim 50" Plasma T.V. and I am still waiting for them to come and take there hunk of junk away.
One last thing...I am still waiting for the remote I brought back that they tried to give me a burnt dirty old filthy remote, that went with a somewhat new TV...I called and called to have them get someone to look at it cause it was clearly on its way out...the loaner I was to get, never came, but they tried to pull a fast one on me, and bring me a 5 yrs older tv, with blown speakers, and wanted me to pay the same amount for, and that was the products, I would be paying off...Well, now they can have it all back, but, why won't they come and pick it up? Now, they're trying to work it out with me? Nop, sorry too late...I want there product out of my home, and to never have to deal with there bull crap again, I hope that someone can start something to where this company has to be held for there actions, and be dealt the consequences they deserve...HARSH ONES! If anyone does want more info about all the other things they did, I would be all too happy to provide this...and if anyone wants to go further, sign me up cause I will help...but can't do this all alone...we need everyone to participate...let deal them back there bull ###, but truthfully...

I am 1 yr term for laptop and I was told I still owe for 40 weeks I dont get this I had since DEC 2010 I got this after Christmas a bit they also gave me 1 week free I think or 2 I forget. Anyhow how do they figgure out 40 weeks left? or payments? thanks yes I got a cybertron desk top as welll with them I had probs with it but they fixed with then less a week. I got a disscount as well the next payment so Iam happy. Now my ? is will they release info to 3rd partys like if some one calls and ask if this person is with them or not. my laptop should be paid off before the tower and screen.
I feel sorry for them who filed a complaint of these people but they really been great to me I hope they continue business with me .I some days hate my laptop cause it over writes on what I type it has a damb mind of its own to re insert and I dont use the insert bar or button. when I gotten the laptop it was scratched as heck but I put a skin cover over it it looks new lol.

I currently have a laptop through Easyhome, which I use for my business. I was working away at some important business things on my laptop and all of a sudden my computer shut off. I have been a long time Easyhome customer with no problems at all HOWEVER, I moved to another province and went to rent a bed again from them... they had all my info in their computer and could even tell me what I had rented in the past and when, but when it came to getting another bed from them they said that they had no idea how much equity I had put into the bed (duh?!?! it's in your computer) so they just randomly picked an amout... knocked off a few weeks at the end of the rental term. The manager was extremely rude because I only owed $400 on the other bed I had rented in the other province. I think it was because she didn't want to lose out on any money. Be aware that they don't always honour their "Investment Transfer Promise" AND they made my payment due dates to be Sunday's when they aren't even open... and then call rudely Monday morning saying I was due yesterday. Giving back the bed in a few weeks.

If you owed $400, that would mean you were more than 2 months behind on your payments. And as for oxjr's comment. If you decide to pay on a 2 or 3 year term you are agreeing to pay the interest associated to that term. If you don't want to pay so much, lease over a year and you will get closer to the cost of the product. You also need to take into account the benifit of lease to own. They take care of their products same as a manufacturers warranty, as well as provide free delivery and you can even return it if you no longer need it or cant afford it. You also have your choice between new and used products and their main Funiture provider is Ashley Furniture which is North America's largest furniture retailer. Don't comment on what you dont know.
Honestly I have no idea why people use those places. The only people who should rent furniture are people staging a home that is empty and is for sale. Scrounge up for a cheap bed, or buy a clean used one off kijji (easy home furniture is used anyway) the money you save will allow you to buy the most expensive bed in the store in less than a year. Sit down and do the math and you will be shocked that you are paying up to 5 times the amount for low quality used furnishings - so by going without for a few months you will actually be able to buy nice stuff in a year or less.

On May 20th 2010 I rented a 42 inch Plasma T.V. from Easyhome. The total price of the USED T.V. was 949.00 with a one year contract. When They wrote up the contract and I got home I noticed they tried to screw me, the contact was for a new t.v. even the serial number was diffrent from the T.V. I wanted. Bought a tv from these donkeys 15 years ago payed it of in payments.in full. Well... Come to realize I haven`t used that bank account in years for anything but getting my insurance payment taken from there. Noticed something very odd... These # are still taking 6.22 out of my account every month to this day. Wtf! I know 6.22 per month does not sound like a lot but over a period of 15 years... And the product has been payed off. Lets do the math! 6.22per month times 14 years did I say wtf! $1044 is what these #ers owe me now! Pay up # or we are going have some fun.
Easyhome has not offered pre-authorized withdrawls from your accounts for 15 years. That was something they started offering around 5 years ago or less.

I used to work for this terrible company as a "Collector". DO NOT EVER RENT ANYTHING FROM EASYHOME! Trust me, from someone who used to work there. First thing's first, the rate at which they lease merchandise is at least 4 times the book value. Example, a NEW tv is worth $950, they will sell this tv for $24 per week. The catch is the term of the lease is THREE YEARS! That totals $3800! And that doesn't include the liability coverage which is mandatory at 15% of what the product is worth and tax! So you will end up spending $4938 for that TV, and that doesn't count if you're ever late which is $10 per item! Also, about 75% of the items in the store are used, don't ever let them tell you it isn't because they will try. And any harrassment you get, trust me the employees are forced to do it. If the collector doesn't call you, your references, your employer and anyone else listed he or she will get in trouble. Oh and they will also visit your home and your family's home to try and take your stuff if you don't call them back. Management is an absolute joke, they treat the employees like ###, pay them like ### and that's why the turnover rate is so high. The day I got a better job and quit that place was the best day of my life! Don't ever walk in that store to rent anything! Peace and Love!

The price of the products you lease are not hidden. If you are willing to agree to the price, you know you have the option to payout early to reduce the interest you pay. I know you can go get furniture on a 1 year lease and pay less than if you go to Ashley furniture and buy it cash, so the interest rate is dependant on the term and products you are leasing. If you do not agree to the price, don't leave the products. Not everyone can afford to go out and buy stuff, but some people want it now. I can get a brand new $3000 TV from them just paying month to month, but there is no way I can afford to go buy it. I can enhance my lifestyle without dropping a large amount of money all at once. My kids can get bunk beds that I can't afford to buy for them, but I can afford the payments. And if anything goes wrong with my TV or bunk beds, they take care of the products and all I do is call them up. You must of been a bad employee if you don't understand the business, and by the sounds of how disgruntled you are, you were probably fired not quit.

I just got things from easy home and I went in and made my 3rd payment in cash for a month. Everything was good while I was in the store and for about a week after that. Then I started getting calls from the store telling me my payment was late, although I had already paid it. They have called me about 4 times a day even though I went into the store and showed them my reciept that said i was paid up. They said they have no record of that payment and that I need to pay it in full or return the items. They are now going to my parents house and banging on the door making threats about bringing the police here. Can they do that? and what do I do about the money I paid and they say they cant "find"?

Beware of the easy home store in cheektowaga, ny. The owner, I believe his name is bill or bob, and the lady claiming to be his wife are very rude nasty people. They will tell you what you want to hear for them to make a buck. When I questioned why I was lied to, the lady became irate and started acting crazy. I would advise avoiding this store at all costs.

Totally outrageous, my wife got a bunch of stuff with them, and she passed away. i tried to keep up the payments but i couldn't. so i said come pick this stuff up, and they said no? they said they would prefer it if i paid them. yeah not happening. so now the stuff is outside in the snow and slush, i told them they got about 10 minutes to get the tv, couch, bed, fridge and tv stand. they didn't and the stuff was taken. took me to court and i won it. To start I put $ down on a pillowtop mattress that never came in. Meanwhile they gave us a crappy mattress to sleep on. We never missed a payment and were planning on paying off the mattress within 4 mths. They kept saying oh we ordered it two weeks turned into 4 mths. Not cool at all. Then they finally get a mattress in not the one we ordered still I was okay with the euro top they had then they tried ripping me off telling me that if I want the eurotop mattress which replaced the pillowtop I originally ordered I would have to pay twice as much with a payment and begin a new contract all over again. Or pay 420.00 the next day for it outright. What a crock off crap I told him to come pick up his mattress or I would set it on fire in my yard. He didnt like that. I wouldnt but I feel so mad why go through a company that tries to screw you over like that. You guys get my money never give me what I want then ask for more money to give me what I need. good customer treated poorly
I have been an excellent customer for 3 years at EasyHome, the staff have been great, however, recently my grandmother passed away who lives in New Brunswick. I had to pay for the flight home and have been a week late here and there for the past month. They have allowed their collection agent to call day in and day out to my home and be very rude and threaten to come get my items. I informed the manager of that location of the rudeness and she did nothing, so I went over her head. I left a complaint on the contact us page on their website. The district manager called me within a few hours, listened to my situation, is dealing with the agent and also gave me a free week to help me get caught up to the point where I will be fine. Moral is: If you are having that many problems with a store, complain to the right people and they will fix it for you.

please contact the BBB & file a formal complainant. Easyhome will give you a free week but remember you are being charged 29% interest for 2 or 3 years. BIG LESSON LEARNED PAY CASH. you'll save a lot more than just money, you'll never get a precall before your next due date and 3 calls that day, your references will never hear about your late payments or be solicited to. best of all you won't be speaking to someone trying constantly to sell you something.
im glad you did. i too complained about this person. the cambridge store actually witnessed him in action on the phone told me to complain said his behaviour was ridiculous and to compain. funny last time i talked to him he was sweet and professional lol. maybe alot of complaints coming in i d say lol. they tret us like dirtbags i went somewhere else after 7 years great dealings a few things paid off, never agin i go somewhere else now. too many management chanes and they ll hire anyone.
not allowed to rent
i have been renting from easyhome and i have paid out all my stuff on august 2010...and now the new woman manager doest not let me rent cause I hunged up on her...for emergency reasons...but to let my case known i have contacted my lawyers, and this is just plain prejudice..i am native and yet not allowed to rent.. and no arrears are oweing...cant make sale people acting like that or they should just get a new one cause this has happened to few people already...
Why do you try to make it a race issue. White people that can't rent dont come on here and say I'm white. They can decide not to rent to you simple because of your attitude if they wish. They are not paid to be treated poorly by people.

Lucie is the spawn of the devil! She is completely unprofessional and a power hungry female manager who harrasses and bullies ALL of her employees. She is uncaring and unsympathetic to all situations regarding family life and demands that her employees work extreme overtime and weekends with NO compensation. Beware before you take a job with this company under her direction. You will live to regret ever working for her. Thats a promise.

I have a complaint about the easyhome store in Glace Bay about my payments... One minute they tell me my account is yup to date then they go and leave harrassing and snotty messages on my answering machine telling me it unacceptable for my payment to be late i had no dammmm idea it was late no friggen wonder no one wants to do business there... Imagine if my payment is not there by 8 pm tomorrow night they will see me in court well then lets go to court because I ahve everyone of my receipts just because you don't like somebody doesn't mean you can try and rip them off because you people are shirt in cash frigg you... I guess I'll see you in court...
