Edward Jones My mother’s living trust and associated annuity

My mother was a long standing client with Edward Jones. She was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2003 and passed in 2005. She made sure she had all affairs in order. She worked with an attorney to set up a Living Trust. She also set up and funded it through Edward Jones. I am the Trustee of the Trust. At her passing I took the attached document to her Edward Jones Advisor. It spelled out exactly how her funds she left for her husband and brother (unfortunately both substance abusers) were to be handled. I explained to the Advisor what her attorney explained to me of how the accounts were to be set up. Neither at any time was to receive any of the principal just net payments from the investment. I was 39, exhausted from fighting for 18 months with my mother while being a wife and mother. I was not educated on how annuities worked, so I trusted her Advisor who had explicit directions on what to do to carry out her wishes. I signed the documents he presented and it appeared her wishes had been set up properly. Both my uncle and father were receiving monthly net payments and her Living Trust was set as Beneficiary on Annuities. When my father passed in November 2019 I informed the Edward Jones Advisor, my 3rd Advisor since 2005, that I needed to have my father's funds put back into her Trust Account so I could disperse them to her beneficiaries she had listed. The Advisor, Robert Hallback, contacted home office and they informed him the Trust Account had been closed and that I was joint owner on my father's annuity and thus all the money came to me. I tried to do further research on how this occurred, but had to move on with preparing burial arrangements for my father. In 2020 when I revisited this issue because now I realized my uncle's account was set up wrong too, I was told the only way it could be changed was if my uncle signed over his ownership. Well for a substance abuser finding this out he was not and still is not willing to sign the ownership change document that would allow the account to be set up as stated in her Trust with to my mother's Trust as owner and beneficiary. The way my uncle's account is set up, if I preceded him in death, he would get the funds in the annuity which was not my mother's wishes. The funds were to return to her Trust and my sister as successor to me as Trustee would disperse funds to her beneficiaries as she designated.

I was totally misadvised and feel that Edward Jones needs to correct their error as my uncle, father nor I should have ever been made owners of the two annuity accounts. The money should never have been removed from the Trust she had in place ready to carry her wishes out. Edward Jones needs to take ownership of the error and correct it without the burden being on their client. The Trust is a Legal document that I was carrying out my responsibility with as Trustee. Again the money was already in a Trust it should have just been invested and set as owner and beneficiary and as Trustee I was to disburse funds to my father and uncle. I appreciate any assistance you can provide with this matter.

Desired outcome: Correct the error in which the annuity was set up with my mother’s investment funds to have her Trust be the owner and beneficiary of the annuity.

I had an IRA account with Edward Jones Berea, Ohio for many years. On 2/18/18 I received documentation from New York Community Bank (my former employer) to rollover my ESOP funds to Edward Jones, Berea. My financial advisor, Greg, was adamant to complete the form and fax it back to New York Community Bank. I thought the funds form the ESOP Plans were going...

Edward Jones Policies regarding hidden unnecessary unethical "fees"

I am already used to being charged for my stocks being held in ed jones because I like to keep things all in one place to make it easier for my heirs.
Just recently I have come to know that when I cash out of a stock it is held for a few days against my will in an account in which interest is actually charged to me, thus depreciating my proceeds. I was forced to reduce my shares in att recently before I wanted to, resulting in loss of over a 1000.00. The money was put into the holding money market account in which I had not known previously that I would be charged interest on it, however small a fraction of an amt it was. I am no longer receiving even that much interest in my other money market accounts or even the hermes prime cash account that used to bear decent interst, altho I have nearly a 900k still in cash making nothing. I feel this is unfair and even sneaky since I had to find this out by myself. Did I miss the fine print? Im disgusted and shopping for a new brokerage. Very disgusted actually. There have also been issues overlooked in the past that affected me financially that I felt were quite faulty and I overlooked those. This is just too much, I feel this brokerage is operating in the best interst of itself, not its clients. I do not mean to complain about my actual investment team. They are nice people just restricted by rules built more to increase the wealth of the edjones agency ahead and instead of the client.

I have Michael McKinney out of Racine, WI. as my financial advisor. First off I would like to make a report about how I was moved from my current advisor from Kenosha, WI where I live and then they moved me to Michael McKinney in Racine, WI. Where I do not live. I am always being called by him or other staff at all times of the day at which I have told them...

Edward Jones advisor

My advisor of many years, Raymond Waters, has decided to spend much personal time with my wife. He also has restricted my access to "MY" account information. When I went into his office to get my account balance, his secretary, Sherry, treated me like dirt and sent me away empty handed. Only after calling Customer Service was I able to get my info.
I find this behavior repulsive and very unethical.

Edward Jones inexperienced financial advisors

Edward Jones hires advisors to manage accounts right out of training for just a few months. Most clients know more than them
These so called advisors have to make a certain amount of money in a very short time or they are fired. The money comes only from you, the investor. They do not reveal the exorbitant fees and commissions to you. Try an online company like schwab or ameritrade. Anyone is less expensive and more honest. Get out if you are investing with them now and you will instantly begin to save money and earn more.

Edward Jones my father's stocks

My father, Lowell Burchett, died understanding that my stepmother, Charlene Burchett, would live off the dividends and interest accrued from his stocks. It's been 17 years since he passed away. During that time, Vance Stewart allowed her to take money out of those accounts. Money that was more than the dividends and interest that she was allowed. My brother and I have tried repeatedly to talk to Vance about her dishonesty, but, we've been told he can't talk to us. We were asked to not come into the office anymore. My stepmother has used Mr. Stewart to her advantage to achieve her goal of getting all of my father's money by taking every penny she can from Dad's accounts. Mr. Stewart has allowed her to do this. The stocks should have been there as our inheritance from our parents when she passes away. I have paperwork to prove all this and much, much more is the truth. I need someone to listen to me. The latest we've heard is that she has been questioned about insurance and tax fraud. I need someone to believe me and help me solve this problem before she's gone and it's too late. I sincerely hope you respond to my message. The truth needs to come out. Thank you.

Edward Jones no background check before hiring advisor

Recently came to my notice that Edward Jones in Toronto, Canada has hired an advisor with a very dubious background, I am surprised that no background check was conducted.

This person's name is Raj Arora.

This gentleman has created and operated several illegal ponzzi schemes before being hired by Ed Jones. He is also been convicted for spouse abuse (his wife is a co-worker so I need to protect my and her identity)

Most recent
- Operated an illegal private fund where client funds were invested into currency trading options. The name of the scheme was operated as Royal Astute Finance. Client funds were syphoned off for personal use!

Past activities
- several ponzzi schemes in USA

How can you trust Edward Jones if they hire such people

Edward Jones my portfolio, account management. guided solutions flex fund

My Name is Philip Marciniak. My Account is a well balanced Flex Fund. I Also have Roth's Accounts. I had seen steady growth and my portfolio was well managed. However during the last 1 year and a half, I made some withdrawals. The total for 5 transactions was $39, 000. Now as I said I am well balance with a conservative moderate approach with Edward Jones. My Gaines totaled $19, 000 - $21, 000 during the first year or so beyond that. So I was satisfied. I made 4 or those 5 transactions using my ACH account to transfer to my Banking institution. And each time I made a withdrawal I lost a significant amount ranging from $5, 000 - $8, 000. An example was my last withdrawal for $3, 000. a month ago. I lost at the same time another $7, 000. Now I understand market volatility. However, I am in a conservative portfolio. I've never had Gaines over $1500. I would of been better taking out a bank loan which would of cost me $600. So I want someone to investigate my 4 withdrawals to make sure there are NOT any improper use or mis-use of my funds, I trust my broker Diane Lucart. Page AZ Location. I understand it's investing risk. But maybe there were other ways to remove funds with out such a High! loss. The 4 withdrawals were my entire Gaines over the history invested with Edward Jones, some$20, 000 while I removed that $39, 000. And I may have been better off closing my account getting all my funds and reinvesting elsewhere. Please have someone investigate. I am considering closing my accounts. My broker says I am well balanced but if that was the case why such a SEVERE loss, when I would never see Gaines that high so how I took such a blow is a concern. Please look into this for me. Thank you, Philip Marciniak. 600 N 4th St. #752 Phoenix AZ 85004. [protected]

Edward Jones stock selection when to sell

I have been with Edward Jones over 4 years. I have not made any money. As a matter of fact I am down 2, 000-3, 000 dollars over the time I have been with them. I took my money out of fidelity so it could be more actively managed. I have paid thousands in fees over the past 4 years and not made any money. When I am up in a stock I have to call my rep and "Demand" that he sell so I could make a little money. I called in July when FB was $210 and I had made a lot on the stock. He advised I only sell 3 shares. Whats the point of that. So I listened to him and kept the 32 shares. I went from being up $1100 to being down $1300. Crazy idea. If I had not demanded he sell certain positions this year I would be down 5, 000-6, 000 dollars. I don't have prior years records because it is too depressing. (My wife won't talk to me about my decision to go with Edward Jones). Check back the mutual funds he purchased for my account, I rarely if ever made any money. If i had just bought Oil at $50 and sold at $70 I would be up 30, 000.00. But, you don't buy Oil. Check my prior records and see what i have made. Please call me at [protected]. James Connery

Edward Jones unauthorized withdraw from account

My oct 26 statement shows $94, 984.34 withdrawn from my account where I only withdrew $60, 000.00. I have talked to my financial advisor, Frank Ballard Jr. and Bob at your customer service and neither can explain what exactly happened and both have said a corrected statement is not possible. My account number is [protected]. I am not satisfied that this is just a "perfect storm" and that my account balance is correct.

Edward Jones supposed to be getting a reimbursement of my 5% that I put down on my initial investment.

At the beginning of 2016 when I opened my IRA account, the financial advisor was Mike Pickett. He said I had the option of choosing to pay a 1% fee per year or put down 5% up front. He said that the 5% down was a better deal since I planned to have this account for more than 10 years. So we did that, but at the end of that year he said that I had to pick out a different account for 2017. I chose the Flex model account. He said this account would charge fees differently, and that I would be reimbursed for the 5% that I was charged for the other account over a 3 year period. Well, I don't see that I am getting reimbursed for the proper amount. Every time I asked my financial advisor he said he would check into it. Well, he left the company, and now I have a new advisor who didn't know much about the old account, so I'm trying to fix this on my own. I've been very patient waiting to get reimbursed, but the reduction in the fees is so small that the numbers just don't add up. It's been almost 2 years now and I need some answers.

Edward Jones ulana emerson, port jervis, ny

Back in February of this year we had our first annual review with Ulana. The market had done well in 2017 and the dow was up 22%.A small 401-k I own was up 36% and my own stock trading account was up 24%.Our account with Edward Jones was up 13% and Ulana thought that was great. I asked where my 10% was and she seemed puzzled.I expected Edward Jones to beat the market and yet she was bragging about half the return compared to the dow.I'm a truck driver and I work nights, sleeping all day and yet both of my accounts beat the market and trashed EJ.Ulana asked what my strategy was like, I said I had been more than 95% invested since 1985.She said that was "crazy" and only a "stupid " person would expose their portfolio at that level.I insisted that was the case and she repeated the two quoted words.I found another investment firm, they are more in line with my aggressive style rather than just trying not to lose money like EJ.We transferred half our money and met again with Ulana in July. She ignored the fact that half the money was gone and did not even ask where. She also ignored my almost completely and was not in the mood to apologize. There were several 500lb gorillas in the room and Ulana decided not to address any of them.Except for an annuity managed by Mutual of Omaha we are done with EJ.If any of this is unclear you have my contact info or call [protected].Robert J Domanoski Jr

Edward Jones private consultation

I met confidentially with Peter Doyle, of Amesbury, Massachusetts about opening a potential account. .He was also operating as Treasurer of our organization, Friends of the Powow River. I have reason to believe he disclosed what I believed was my confidential financial meeting with other members of our group and went to police claiming that I had stolen funds from our organization. This was in spite of my inviting a qualified accountant to review all accounts which he refused, in spite of even other members to step forward to mediate and resolve this issue. I have gone far beyond in my attempts to assure Peter Doyle of my correct action.

I believe based on his knowledge of the stress of my personal finances, that he took that information, shared with the group and accused me of stealing funds from Friends of the Powow River. It was my group and as Founder, my expenses are accounted for. I believe he used my personal information as a reason to file a legal complaint against me. It was a false accusation as determined by my attorney. The attorney cost an additional $750.00 which created hardship not only financially but also with my standing on several projects I was getting off the ground in our community. I feel as if I have been wronged. I have documented evidence of his using his position with Edward Jones to file his errant complaints against me. Without witness I felt isolated and unjustly accused. Please let me know what can I do to resolve my dispute with Mr. Peter Doyle. I prefer to be compensated attorney fees as well as pain and suffering for what he has put me through this Summer. There were added issues with his involving the Attorney General while also disregarding lack of receipts from other group members which I have yet to receive! I am beyond patience with this gross and unprofessional activity by Mr. Peter Doyle.

Edward Jones intentional loss of stock monies

9/4/2018

Edward Jones Management

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to lodge a complaint against Nathan Zombroski (Edward Jones, Springfield, MO). He was my stockbroker for two (2) years, during my employment at Ozarks Teen Challenge, Branson West, MO.

Because our CEO had praised him so highly, I trusted him enough that I moved over $70, 000 from my TIAA-CREF account and was set to have a percentage moved yearly from there, as well.

During that two (2) years, I had to ask him over and over again about monies he continued to lose, telling him specifically that I wanted moey moved from particular stocks (ex., O'Reilley), to which he responded that he knew what he was doing and I did not.

Because of my age and single status, I couldn't afford to let him continue to lose anymore of my retirement money; the amount having been lost being significant. I had two (2) different stockbrokers look at the history and the question they asked was the same; "Why?" I then moved it to another account that I had, and of course, stopped the movement of other TIAA funds into that account.

In addition to refusing to move the losing stocks, Nathan made several ageist comments re: my age and stating that I should be ready to retire, in public. Needless to say, I am not retiring any time soon, but don't appreciate the smart aleck and undermining comments anymore than I appreciate all of the money he lost (and it wasn't becuase of the market; it was because of his ego).

Please, if there is any way in which he can be sanctioned, I would ask that you seriously consider doing so.

Thanking you in advance for any assistance you can provide in this matter,

Laura Morrison-Roets, EdD, PhD, CTRS/L, LADC, CRAADC/Supv., CM III
