refund and cancellation
Hi, the reason for this letter is to let you know about a claim about eharmony company about a suscription made on february 10, 2020 I tried to cancel that the same day, try to contact the costumer service either by call but they never responded to me, I sent several emails explaining to them I made a mistake and just wanted the refund of my money and de cancellation, the only thing I have been receive its negative and evasive answers, and I felt very bad for that kind of treatment, I just want the money that belong to me thats all, mine 582.85 dollars because I dont even use this site, I dont mind at all, thank you for your attention sincerely lisbet fernandez.
subscription refund
[protected]@yahoo.com signed up and purchased a 6 month subscription. After viewing my date options, only 11, I decided to cancel my account. Mind you, my bank is still processing the transaction. I requested the refund and/or cancellation of my subscription, without them taking anymore money from me. They denied my request. It hasn't even been 72 hrs since my request. I will not stop protesting this company. This is unbelievable.
subscription and quality of service
They are not honest about their service. They do not provide the service that they advertise and charge you outrageous money for it. They are scamming people. Their reputation in the past is not what it is today. Buyer beware! They do not update their profile matches. Unconcerned about it, put it back on the consumer. I'm on other sites and there is plenty of profiles and they make it fun. This site just takes your money and does not do what you paid them to do. It was a reputable site years ago that I understand but definitely not the same person or persons running it now. Save your money on this one good people
lies, billing, corrupt business
I joined on 9/9/19. Tried to cancel maybe 30min to an hr later. No one is attractive and live far away. I get emails saying no. I call two days after this, they changed the policy to where certain states are allowed the 3 day policy, mine isnt one. What kind of BS is that. Not only that, they put that clause between the cancellations, where it can be missed. I would have never paid. Avoid them at all cost. It is a big sham.
auto renewal
I joined eharmony 6 months ago for a 6 months subscription. I found someone in another website and never came back to the eharmony. I thought after 6 months they would cancel or send me thousands of messages asking me to renew it. No, they renewed it automatically. They charge me another 300 US !
Immediately I emailed them asking to cancel it and send my money back and they said they cannot do that because was on the contract I agreed... very anti-ethical from them. I am extremely disappointed and upset
I will tell everybody about that.
I have had the same experience this week. I am so upset, I dont want to be on this site for another year and I know I would not sign up for that. I feel like I was completely scammed. I think the better business bureau or a class action suit should be launched against them. I signed up for six months to try it and there is no way at that time that I would sign up for a year membership without knowing if I liked the service. And its very irritating that they don't provide a phone number on their website anywhere. And to make matters worse I lost my job earlier this year so I am not happy about them charging my charge card without any kind of notification
unethical behaviour
I joined eHarmony in Feb 2019 on a one year membership in order to "get the best price" option and pre-paid for the whole year which totaled $191.40. After using the service for several months, I am dissatisfied with the platform and have exhausted all matches who fit my criteria (being matched on key areas of personality - according to their own website - as well as other criteria I set for myself, such as geographical location and other personal choices). Since joining, I have had reciprocal communication with TWO of the profiles with whom I was matched. I do not see any activity from the other members they match me with. I do not think the members they sent me are active users of the service. Since my initial set of matches, I have not received any viable matches. I have written to eHarmony Customer Care twice this week to complain and ask for a refund. On 6/3/19 I received two responses. One explained that the auto-renewal feature was turned off my account (that was acceptable to me). The second explained how I should adjust my Preferences to receive more desirable matches. I already know they have no more matches for me and I feel it is a waste of time and money for me to continue a one year membership. I made a reasonable offer for them to keep the money for the months I have already used and issue me a refund for the remaining balance. I have yet to receive an adequate response. On 6/4/19 they told me to review their terms for refunds and to write to them again if I can explain why my case falls outside of their terms and conditions. I think the fact that they are not delivering on what they promised to do for me is reason enough to grant my very reasonable request for a refund. I believe if a customer is dissatisfied, a company should grant partial refunds to keep from getting negative reviews. I will go to any length I need to in order to get some compensation back.
eharmony uses deceptive business practices, beware
I signed up for a single month of service back in November of 2018 and quickly decided I did not like the platform and ceased using it. Six months to the day I signed up, I was charged $34.99. I contacted customer service and apparently, everyone who signs up, regardless for how long is put on auto renewal. eHarmony says this is to "ensure continuous service". They provided me with a link to their 16 pages of Terms of Service stating that "all customers agree to this policy", essentially saying that I should have seen the tiny snippet burried in 16 pages of legalease that says unless I disable automatic billing, I will be billed again. This company has been sued by the State of California and ordered to pay 2.2 million dollars for "Deceptive Continuous Service Practices" yet they continue to engage in this highly unethical and deceptive practice. They know full well that most people are not aware of the fact that their account is set up to auto renew and that most people do not read the entire 16 page, 6907 word Terms of Service where this auto renew policy is mentioned. This is theft, plain and simple. I contacted eHarmony the day they charged me and they refuse to refund my money. They literally went into my account without my knowledge and took my money. They hide behind the excuse that their customers agree to their continuous use practices because they agree to the Terms of Service, yet everyone knows that most people and I would venture to say the overwhelming majority of people, are not going to read 6, 907 words. It is trickery at it's finest. No one would assume their account is set to automatic billing. eHarmony is not doing this because it's in the best interest of its customers as they would like you to think. They do it because it generates millions of added revenu the otherwise would not receive. All reputable companies that have automatic renewal billing will send you an email prior to the renewal date to alert you of the upcoming charge. eHarmony sends no such emails because they are making millions weekly from this practice so the few million they have to pay out in judgements for this deceptive practice is just the cost of doing business to them. The fact that this company was founded by a man who calls himself a Christion is equally apalling.
eharmony is a great fraud and liar
After I complained about eHarmony through a nonprofit organization because of their unfair treatment to me, they told me to upload more photos and redo my profiles to get more matches. So I tried my best to make my profiles better but then they gave me all dead and fake profiles created by themselves.
I had joined eHarmony for more than 2 years but most of my matches gave me no response and some of my matches gave me temporary responses. When I asked for their WhatsApp phone no. they stopped replying to me because I think eHarmony don't have any more phone numbers to give out as fake WhatsApp numbers with permanent fake WhatsApp profile photos. When you really talk to them on WhatsApp, they told me that they were afraid to talk to me on WhatsApp and showed me videos of their fake profiles with no actual responses from them. It is like talking to actors on WhatsApp.
On one occurrence, I saw someone instructing one of the white men what to do during the video call as he was unsure of what to do and he didn't respond to what I asked him to. His voice on a phone call was a black man's voice but his voice on the video call was a white man's voice which was totally different. Thus, don't waste your money on eHarmony subscription because they are real swindlers.
Scam identified from eharmony match
Hello,
I met Bob three weeks ago on Eharmony and immediately after a few texts on the Eharmony website, his account got "hacked" and he required to text me on my phone. The next few weeks included wanting me to move in and plan to give up all contact with family and friends. After 7 days, he asked for $8, 750 to get out of a situation with a loan shark in Maylasia after the collapse of a building he was the contractor collapsed and he had no money left to complete this project. I immediately knew I was being strung along but continued to gather more information by this predator. He gave me his social security, date of birth, location of his business, and place of residence on a form I created for the Loan Agreement. I went to the bank to do a "wire transfer" required by Robert now. The bank refused and referred me to the police department in the town. Once I arrive there, we were able to look up his social security number, his phone, and on my own, contact the "supposed" company he work for. The phone number was a "ghost" number. The social security number was stolen from a disabled woman born in 1979 in Lawrence, MA. I contacted the company reaching out for the CEO who confirmed there was no one working there with the name of my Robert. He had given the address of the company in his Loan Agreement information.
Once I addressed that his company did not know who he was, and that I had a Security Clearance with the Government, (which is true), he told me to "[censored] off" real angry. I was very close to mailing him the $8, 750 and liquidated my 401K account based on this heartache story.
Please let others know this can happen, please, I invested three weeks in this "relationship" and feel betrayed by this person.
Thanks,
Cheryl Hopkins

(Be patient, I'm Irish by ancestory, and a non-fiction book writer, we don't know the meaning of a short story). You don't hear much about Christianity today but I can attest to the fact we are alive and well. 231 million in the U.S. (True, some in name only). As a Christian a thing as major as marital status is something that needs to be front and center on a profile. They never asked me my marital status and that's something that most certainly has to be part of a ''match''. eharmony claims to be a ''Christian'' dating site and I quote from the home page:
''As a single Christian, do you feel like God has someone special in mind for you but you just haven't found them yet? Founded by a Christian psychologist, eharmony is committed to helping Christian singles find love every day. And we are confident in our ability to help you, too. Our Compatibility Matching System matches Christian single men and women based on 29 dimensions of compatibility, like core values and beliefs. ''
Core values and beliefs. Okay lets look at another quote, this time from the true expert on Christian singles:
"Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery." Mark 10:2-12
"Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.'' Luke 16:18
'' A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.'' 1 Corinthians 7:39
''a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.''
''The man who hates and divorces his wife, " says the LORD, the God of Israel, "does violence to the one he should protect, " says the LORD Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.'' Malachi 2:16
These a few quotes in the big book of Christian law on marriage, divorce, remarriage and, yes, dating. Just as the state law says we cannot drive a car legally unless we know how to drive a car and have a license it is the law we must follow it because it protects us from harm-- regardless of our personal belief that a 5 yr old should be allowed to drive a car. I'm just mainline Christian. I don't go door to door selling weird religious propaganda and I have no strange cult believes. I don't watch hell and brimstone preachers on TV (bogus). But being Christian means following the Word of God and the teachings of Christ. A Christian woman (or man) does not have to stay with someone who abuses them, we can separate but that's all. Marriage is sacred and God believes in fixing what is broken not throwing a marriage away. So we have a responsibility to keep our marriages happy, healthy, and satisfying. Yes, we could technically just date a divorced man if there's no romance--just have coffee and talk. But when dating we must protect ourselves from taking the chance of falling in love with someone we have no future with and creating an emotionally devastating situation. And we must choose our spouses well, our futures and lives depend on it. We need to know upfront if a man or woman is divorced so we can politely pass by his or her profile. Am I going to message every man on the list to ask if he's widowed or what the deal is? No I'm going to get fed up and leave.
I respect all the various denominations. We all have to decide to be true to our faith or be hypocrites (noun. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs). Being Christian means following the Word of God and the teachings of Christ and that's the same for all Christians. Like many people who call themselves followers of Christ but don't follow Christ, eharmony doesn't either. They obviously call themselves Christian--in name only--to win the Christian market share and it's all about money. But my complaint is we need to know upfront the marital status on the profiles. If you've read this far thank you very much for letting me have my ''time in court'' sort to speak.
complaint regarding treatment by eharmony
Dear sir madam.
I am writing to formally complain about the response from the eh team.
I wrote the following on: Tues 28th
I wish to cancel my subscription as I do not like eh. I don't not feel safe on it. I am not enjoying the experience. My matches are not appropriate to me. My age selection or area selection or ethnicity selection is not being adhered too. I don't get matches each day. I pass on men on the what if box and they appear as my matches the next day. There are old unused profiles on eHarmony which are advertised as new, when they are not. The app hasn't allowed my to delete pictures when I've wanted too.
I have tried the site as I was informed it was the best. But I do not feel safe.
I have paid £47 and been on it for less than a month.
Please can you consider cancelling my 12 month contract with no further payments. I am quite happy for you to keep the £47 pounds . And take no further payments (due on 3rd September and 3 Oct)
Or would it be possible to reduce my contract to two/three months, whichever the £47 covers?
Please remove my automatic renewal.
I would appreciate it if we could one to a satisfactory solution for us both.
I received a big standard email saying I couldn't have a full refund. ...I didn't ask for a full refund! The operator clearly hadn't read my request. I asked them to address the points in my original email and get back to me before 3sept when the next payment is due.
I reviewed another big standard email detailing how I could improve my matches.
Please please can someone with authority read my email and get back to me with a specific response (not the of standard rubbish) please treat me like a valued customer and Human being
My email is [protected]@hotmail.com
Please can you get back to me before sept 3.
Please do not ignore my complaint
Thank you
Jo
misrepresentation of effective compatibility categories
I am a member who was induced to join because of claims of compatibility based upon an exhaustive questionnaire and multiple categories, ie religion, income, geography, smoking, drinking, ethnicity, language, age, children, education.
BUT...there are NO preferences available for the most critical elements of compatibility, which to me are social/political beliefs (liberal v. conservative) and that of desirable body types (slender/athletic). There can be NO COMPATIBILITY if these elements are not included in the algorithm for matching.
Also, your site provides a search box for cities, and it does not work. And you keep sending notice of "new matches" that are only repeats. And your "matches" based on compatibility are sometimes not even close, when I read their profiles!
I am very disappointed with your lack of professionalism and misrepresentation. The legal terminology is fraud, as I was induced to contract in the absence of full disclosure and complete information. No contract legally or lawfully exists.
I had agreed to pay in 3 monthly installments, and I will consent to allow you to keep the first payment. But I will consider this contract to be canceled at the end of the first month, and rescind your authority to continue to charge my bank account further. If you do attempt to take further payments, I will dispute and report this to the FTC and Attorney General.
If this forum is not the proper place to deliver this notice, please advise me the location of your legal department.
Sincerely, James Iler
everything about the site
There are no candidates within approximately 75 miles, most are even further. I am 71 and they definitely do not have anyone to date. Unfortunately I am locked into 3 months of this nonsense. I would not recommend this site to anyone who is a senior citizen. I cannot speak for younger folks. I had belonged before and this time is even worse. I should have stuck with Senior People Meet and Match. I am also on Match and have lots of matches, several potential dates. They should say that their dating pool is very limited as to age and geographic location. I think it is very deceptive advertising that they use. Stay away and save your money. I really think they should be investigated for their deceptive practices.
fraud and scam
Do you want an honest evaluation of E Harmony ? Beware do not waste your money on this site There are NO successful or outstanding candidates on this site . This site is a joke and the 50 questions are for fifth graders or people who can't think or interact with the opposite sex . There were NO quality ladies on the site I would date or entertain dating . From the initial profile there are problems . I enter my age at 52 and the site records 41 and you can not change your age. The search mechanism is the worst of any of the dating sites and does not honor ones parameters in the selection process. For instance in ethnicity, I select white and graduated from 4 year college . E Harmony sends 75% black or mexican candidates that have barely finished high school
To make matters worst E Harmony sends me candidates that have been off the site for over two years. What a waste of my time in the selection process. Looking at the matches they send only to find they have not been active in years This is a SCAM by EHarmony and any candidate that has been off the site for 6 months or more should not be a legitimate candidate in their data base .The Big Question is : What do the candidates think that E Harmony is promoting their profile as active to keep men on the site when they have been inactive for months and even years ?
E Harmony is a SCAM a FRAUD Beware ... I am entertaining filing a class action law suit against E Harmony for misrepresentation of profiles, false advertising of candidates available in a geographical area . If you have had a similar experience and would like to join me in a class action suit Email me at Matchme [protected]@hotmail.com
Eharmony double bills after payment, ignore requests for correction.
Eharmony has doubled bill but threatens to deny cancellation of published profile if a second identical billing is not paid. They do not respond to their records showing double billing! If you do NOT care about your financial safety, use the website. They need to clean up their act. It was once responsive and cared about its quality. Apparently a number of derogatory review are showing up on various review sites about financial abuse by the company lately. I do note that for number of the selections they offered they eventually claim are not legitimate? What does that mean? A fair number of their local members appear to be logged on in sync with countries in time zones on the other side of the globe and do not seem familiar with the cities they state they live in.
hugely inflated 3 month subscription fee.
I joined eHarmony on 6th April 2018 and paid an amount of £119.85 for 3 months.
I have since looked at the website and notice they advertise their prices as £65.85 for 3 months and £6.15 LESS than i actually paid for 6 months, the amount being £113.70.
I have been advertised to ask for a refund of £54.00, as there seems to be a huge discrepancy with their advertising policy.
My email email address is [protected]@hotmail.co.uk
Kind regards
dating site
I have just joined harmony and am very disappointed. Photos / profiles of potential matches do not seem to be checked. I received matches from women despite stating I wished to be matched with men. Some matches photos were body shots no face! Others described as Black African male however photo was of a very young white young man! I paid a lot of money for a service I do not trust. I wish to leave and seem unable to find out how to do this. This site really is poor.
I never received the items.
On March 13, I received letter from eharmony that I had changed my email. I am not a customer of Eharmony. My email and pay pal accounts were compromised on this very day. My email is [protected]@yahoo.com. It was changed to [protected]@gmail.com. I am requesting eharmony to dissolve any connection with my [protected]@yahoo.com email. Immediately. Please notify me when this matter has been resolved.

incognito
I am appalled that when I was offered incognito on my account last night I wasn't warned of the charge connected to this. As this charge is greater than the 3 month subscription I have signed up for I an totally disgusted by this.
I have been charger £29.99 for a service I wouldn't have chosen if I was made aware that this was a chargeable item.
Please as a gesture of good will will you refund my account with the £29.99.

direct debt without authority
I rang e harmony to ask why they direct debted my account after last year I gave my mother a 1 year subscription (which she made clear that it was definitely not worth being part of due to the sites poor performance. You'd believe that a dating site you pay for would perform better than the free ones, but no. Anyway.)andthey withdrew another years subscription from my account which I believe is sneaky and fraudulent. The phone operate would not refund the amount which was withdraw from my credit card a couple of days ago. I have had to report them to the credit card company and get a new card to shop further unauthorised transaction.

About eHarmony
One of the things that sets eHarmony apart from other dating sites is its unique matching system. Instead of simply allowing users to browse through profiles and message each other, eHarmony uses a proprietary algorithm to match users based on a variety of factors, including personality traits, values, and interests. This means that users are more likely to find someone who is truly compatible with them, rather than just someone who looks good on paper.
Another key feature of eHarmony is its focus on long-term relationships. While other dating sites may be geared more towards casual hookups or short-term flings, eHarmony is designed to help users find lasting love. This is reflected in the site's comprehensive personality questionnaire, which takes around 30 minutes to complete and is designed to help users understand themselves better and find partners who share their values and goals.
In addition to its matching system and focus on long-term relationships, eHarmony also offers a range of other features to help users connect and communicate. These include a messaging system, a "What If?" feature that suggests potential matches based on users' preferences, and a mobile app that allows users to access the site on the go.
Overall, eHarmony is a well-established and highly respected dating site that is ideal for singles who are serious about finding a long-term partner. With its unique matching system, focus on compatibility, and range of features, eHarmony is a great choice for anyone who is looking for love online.
