OkCupid A Mix of Experiences: Unveiling the Real OkCupid

As I delve into the world of OkCupid, I find a diverse range of opinions that paint a vivid picture of this dating platform. Some users express joy in finding their soulmates, narrating heartwarming tales of love blossoming from chance encounters. On the flip side, there are voices of frustration, highlighting issues like fake profiles, distant matches, and unresponsive customer service. It's a platform where some feel uplifted by genuine connections, while others feel let down by misleading experiences. OkCupid seems to be a place of contrasts, where the quest for love intertwines with the complexities of online interactions. As you navigate this realm, may you find your own path amidst the myriad of stories shared by fellow seekers.

OkCupid Met my fiance on OKC 5 years ago

Literally all of my adult boyfriends have been through OKC. I am a dog groomer, before I owned my own business, I worked in salons with all women, and I am not into the whole social scene of clubbing and concerts. Anyway, 5 1/2 years ago this guy messages me on okcupid. He was funny and intelligent and loved to read, so we met up at a Hobby Lobby and he helped me cut out stencils to use for Creative Grooming.
I was the first woman he ever spoke with on OKC, whereas I had been on the site for about 6 years and met and dated a generous handful of guys. I was looking for something more permanent when I met this guy though, as I had an almost-2 year old son at the time.
5 1/2 years later, I am submitting this review as I nurse our 11 month old daughter to sleep. I am eternally grateful to this site for bringing us together. Use the site as it's mesnt to be used, fill out the silly questionaires and pay attention to the compatibility ratings. Be picky! Dont even bother talking to anyone that isnt 88% or higher compatible. Answer those questions honestly. And dont treat every date like it could be your last, or as if every man is your possible future husband. Just know what you want, only date men that are what you want, have fun, and enjoy yourself.

OkCupid Have used OkCupid since my marriage dissolved 5 years

Have used OkCupid since my marriage dissolved 5 years ago.

No, not every date has been true love, but I've had wonderfully loving experiences with very compatible, sincere women. I've been amused by some of the negative reviews on SiteJabber, which seem rather bitter about online dating and life in general.

Don't let the negativity get the best of you. The creators of OkC have been written up in the New York Times, the New Yorker, etc because this site's algorithms and methods really do work. It's fascinating and fun. You still need to MEET the person you're interested in to see if you have chemistry or not, and you need to be interesting, creative and worth dating YOURSELF or you'll be disappointed when your date is disappointed in you.

OkC gives us all free rein to express ourselves in the profile... be honest!... and the multiple-choice match questions determine compatibility ratings much more effectively than any self-descriptions we might choose for ourselves. The range of interests and quirks in the match questions really does give a "personality rating" and has been very accurate in my experience. A good match rating has always led to meeting a good person, whether or not we took it beyond a date or two. Chemistry is an in-person discovery no matter what site one uses.

Be bold, don't whine or complain, don't be a misogynist or man-hater, don't be bitter or have so much baggage you need a self-storage unit to hold it. Be nice, be creative, and BE HONEST. Have fun with it and BE fun yourself.

Dating isn't for [censored]. Man (or woman) UP.

OkCupid I was very skeptical about this site when I first went

I was very skeptical about this site when I first went on. I'll admit, they do ask you to answer a ton of questions when you make your account (I only answered them all because I had insomnia and nothing better to do). Yeah, I got a few messages from scammers, but after only a month, I met my boyfriend of two years who I now live with. And for the record, I did this with NO pictures uploaded- I find that cuts down on the scammers. I can't really compare to other sites, but I can say that someone who is honest in their profile and knows what they're looking for can definitely find what they're after here without too much trouble.

I've read a lot of reviews from guys who have had problems finding a serious girl here- to them I say, be a little more patient. There are a lot of creeps on the internet and a girl has to sort through all that to figure out if you're a serious guy, particularly on a free site that any psycho could be using. This site updates your matches pretty regularly, so if you keep at it, you should be able find a girl who is willing to give it a try. But to the guys saying they pushed for a face to face meet really quick- BIG MISTAKE! I would NEVER meet a guy I met online until we had talked enough via email or phone that I was sure it wasn't a trap. My boyfriend messaged me for about a month before I was willing to meet him. If you're truly a serious guy, then you should know that a serious girl needs (and is worth) the wait to be sure. If you're going to be an $#*! about it, then it's no wonder you don't get responses to your messages.

OkCupid OKCUPID used to be GREAT, but still pretty good!

As i look at all of the people complaining, most of the complaints are 100% wrong. I have been on here 15 years (before it was called OKCupid!)

The thing that really sets them apart from every other site are the MATCHING QUESTIONS. In the beginning they merged with a pretty cool online question/quiz site. This gave them the ability to instantly match people with similar interests using an algorithm. If you answer enough question, it is surprisingly accurate. My two longest relationships were 99% matches.

I have discovered the algorithm starts to become more effective at about 300 questions. That seems like a lot at first, just make it a habit to answer 10 questions every time you log in and only answer questions you care about. Skip questions that aren't important. This makes the match percentage more reliable.

LOL... they should hire me as an online dating coach!

I found that a large percentage of people that hate online dating also hate traditional dating. Few people love it. Online dating is very similar to online job hunting, nobody loves that either. But we have to work, so we accept that it sucks. We also understand the power of the internet to pinpoint exactly what fits you best.

Dating apps are JUST TOOLS. If you pick the wrong tool for the job you cant really blame the tool. If you aren't using the tool correctly you arent going to get the expected results. I wonder if the people giving it 1 star also work for Match.com and POF.com, because the things they complain about are false.

When will Amazon Prime have an app? Select the features you want and they are delivered to you in two days!

OkCupid Perusing the reviews here has been fascinating and

Perusing the reviews here has been fascinating and entertaining. It seems most people either love OKCupid or hate it. My overall impression: reading the reviews with the same kind of discrimination you should use in reading on-line dating profiles will net you an overall positive impression of OKCupid. Fortunately, though, I don't even have to rely on that as I used OKCupid for about four years and have my own experience to go by. I found the site to be extremely user-friendly and I talked to many very nice and interesting people over time. I met several, dated a few and ultimately ended up in the relationship I expect to be my last. I think this is about all you could ask of a free on-line dating site. If this is not your experience I think you probably have unrealistic expectations and/ or you're just " doing it wrong." One complaint I've seen a lot of here that I'd like to address is that there are a lot of questions you "have to" answer. Well, no. There are no questions you have to answer; but since the matching algorithm is based on mutual answers, the more questions you answer the better your matches will be. The questions are submitted by other members and so can be repetitious, but again, you don't have to answer them all. If you think you've already answered the question, you can just move on. If you think the question is innappropriate or you just don't want to answer it, you don't have to. The questions range from thought-provoking and illuminating through just good fun to crass and/or useless. Pick and choose. I greatly enjoyed my experience with OKCupid and have recommended it to dozens of single friends. I also tried Match, Plenty of Fish, Senior People Meet and Spiritual Singles and OKC was far above any of them in my opinion.

OkCupid OK CUPID Try It Worked For Me, I'm 63Yrs and Divorced

So I'm divorced after 20 years of marriage and starting over and moved to Arizona from Pennsylvania, no friends, alone no man. So have to start somewhere, don't want to spend money on a fixed income when I don't know what will work. Match.com kept sending me men in Pennsylvania, not Arizona when I changed everything, they charge way too much up front the whole 6 months upfront. The auto Renew is a pain to cancel with many sites. So to the point, OK Cupid in Arizona, I think is great. I've met 4 men in two weeks, one I like very much. They are professionals, all have good careers except one. I'm 63years old female, semi retired, but really young looking, very athletic, from NY, NJ, PA and now Arizona for life. This site is easy to navigate, free to search matches, free to send and receive messages, where can you do that on the web? Keep in mind that your information is being exposed and pictures to the world, so be safe. But where can you meet men or women for free, message and replies. You may find some fake men or women scam artists, just understand it's free you get what you get for free. I never found that situation. Make sure to watch behind when I'm leaving a date, maybe purchase some protection, keep it on you, if there is something weird with the person. Just give your cell phone to people you feel you can trust. I decided to pay for 1 month cost me $15.95. I turned off the auto renew subscription, so that's for 1 month only. I asked them to tell me if I did this they actually replied back to me. Customer service is pretty good when emailing them, you might have to wait a little for an answer by email or email them again. They will help you upfront, reply back with answers for you. I would recommend this site for dating just really been great for me. I do not work for this company or web, this is a totally independent current review 2/11/2018.

OkCupid Will block if you're rude. Otherwise, best Free OR premium site out there

OKCupid is notorious for blocking accounts out of the blue. It's typically males, and likely because several women singled your profile out with red flag. Note: This does not happen often. Of 3-4M users, it happens to perhaps a hundred a month. Be cool and you've likely not much to worry about.

Yes, I have been blocked. My profile is fairly blunt, and even rather salacious. My best guess my "bouncing" was for being overly blunt with my "no thanks remarks". Better to not answer mail from someone you've no interest in. In case you get caught up in this, here's a bit of info which might help? I did some research. OK Cupid, like Match.com, is own by parent company IAC ***300). I called, was connected to a friendly voice (who had nothing to do with consumers or Cupid), and explained my situation briefly and with concern. Turns out Cupid is under umbrella of Match.com, Contact is: ***824 or ***352) and look for help there. Don't expect much.

After those negatives, and all the BS aside, what makes Cupid "work", is the search mechanism of premium package: In premium one can take individual questions Cupid throws at every user, and select about five (which REALLY matter), and key them and those who answer in that fashion. For instance: I may feel strongly about a girl who likes her hair pulled during sex (not joking). I select the question "Do you like your hair pulled during sex?", and select the answer I'm hoping a woman will respond with: options to question: A."Not At All', B."Yes But Lightly', or C. "Grab a fistful and pull with all you've got". Well I select C. Now as I click search... those girls who've answered this question with "C", will be singled out and shown to me. Make sense? You get about five of these in premium, and of Cupid's 1k questions, you can truly begin to address what matters to you in every aspect of a relationship.

Hope that helps.

Update: 11-2-16
Same thing, perfectly good PAID A-member account mysteriously suit down for "Violation Of Terms". No questions, no options, no place to take concern expect what I mentioned above. CAREFUL. I'm going to twitter about this, and get anywhere I'll let you know.
Ron

OkCupid This site is easier to use than plentyoffish

This site is easier to use than plentyoffish. It is easy to use and has clean clear photos/graphics.
There is a "skip" button for the multitude of dumb/stupid/invasive questions one can answer but doesn't want to bother with. At least, it did when I used it 20 months ago. My sweetheart, however, missed seeing that button. I have read that all those questions keep one connected long enough for the site to harvest data from the user's computer. But I'm not techy so have to take that one on faith.
I expect the skip button still there... but have no reason to look at the site now. My first choice fellow and I have been inseparable since the first day we met.

When I signed up for cupid, i had a "shopping list" and knew the kind of man I was looking for. I also knew what I didn't want. ("Bossy" topped that list). Some indicators require interpretation and analysis. Weight is one. Looks were not a great issue. For my age, I'm not bad looking, but personality, temperament, and weight mean more to me than looks. I wanted someone close to my own weight, because that would indicate we most likely would share food tastes and I sure as heck don't want to be cooking in fatback for one of us and olive oil for the other. As it is, I've learned to make crepes suzette and a chocolate yule log & to drink espresso. While he's learned to cook eggs over easy and bake up butternut squash--something he had ever eaten, but now loves.

The freeform profiles suited me just fine. I got a really good idea of what the man i chose was like, just from reading his personal description. Chris makes me wonder just what a "match" is supposed to look like. A checklist would have not done it for me, because it shows no flavor of a personality. I was willing to look at profiles of some men I might not have even considered. It was educational, to say the least!

I think the 'enemy' designation of a match has nothing to do with enmity, but more to do with the problems that can cause friction. Different religions, political views, attitudes toward money. A careful search and analysis of the profile might make these differences fade away in comparison to all the other issues. The fellow I met and have been with for the better part of two years will not discuss politics. Fine with me, everything else is so good, that he's my polar opposite on that issue is okay.

While my sweetheart had much in common with me, we're both immigrants and US citizens for most of our lives, had long reasonably happy marriages before being widowed, and share tastes in art, music, and foreign cultures, but the tipping point came when he posted photos of himself with his children and grandchildren... and I posted a full length photo of myself. He didn't post pix of him with his cat/dog/motorcycle/car/boat. These might help other women make a choice, but the absence of this kind of photo, helped me make mine. Once he saw my size and my 'attitude' in my photo, he was sold. We live only 50 miles apart, and plan to live at least in the same town in the future. We have our own responsibilities in life and give each other 'space' to take care of them. But isn't it interesting that we drive the same brand of auto, save for what we want, and we share kitchen chores. I bake, he barbecues. I launder, he folds. One speaks, the other finishes the thought. I write, he paints. He cherishes Vivaldi, I, Mozart. Neither of us will pay for what we can get free, provided it meets our needs. Best of all... we love... and we give OKCupid a four point oh.

OkCupid Exposing #HateSites

Stop discriminating against Africans!

We have more dangerous & sophisticated criminals and Internet fraudsters in America, Mexico, India, The Middle-East,etc yet these countries are allowed on your platforms.

There are mass shooters in America don't mean you arrest all Americans are mass shooters, There are terrorists in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Gaza, Saudi Arabia etc, don't mean you bomb all of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Gaza, Saudi Arabia etc Not all Middle-Easterners are terrorists.

STOP THE HATE, RACISM, DISCRIMINATION, BIAS, PREJUDICE AGAINST NIGERIANS, AGAINST AFRICANS!

We have a lot of work to do as 'evolved species' in this time and age

OkCupid The OKCupid Matrix

OKCupid has certainly undergone some dramatic changes since its acquisition by the Evil Empire a few years ago. The original site had large numbers of real members and was an enjoyable experience, but this has all been lost as it now runs manufactured profiles made from photos taken from closed accounts as well as from other dating sites.

The quality of the company-made faked profiles does vary and many of these individuals are pretty easy to spot. For instance: the gal listing herself as being someone with a Masters Degree in English and then cant spell on a grammar school level in the essays? They blanket the site with these types of profiles in order to provide the illusion of site activity. The juvenile use of emoticons in their profiles and e-mail replies to you are one dead giveaway. These persons dont receive any pay for their part in the deception, its just for the thrills and entertainment provided to them in confusing the persons on the site. They do, however, have the more sophisticated variety of operatives in their employ who write up very extensive and impressive sounding essays to accompany the fictional photos. The site has now achieved what I call The OKCupid Matrix. An unsuspecting person using the site may go for weeks at a time only conversing with the employees who are running these manufactured profiles. The programmers for the company have achieved a completely artificial environment for people to be in, with the real members on the site being unable to see each other in searches. The upper level moderators -- who are given free access to your account -- will from time to time plant one or two hand picked fakes in order for you to have something visible on your Visitors indicator.

The paid employees who are running the company-made faked profiles are capable of carrying on excellent conversations and they do have some style. However, the litmus test is to simply ask them a basic question about the location area shown in their profiles. They wont be able to answer you, because they honestly dont know. For example: the person pretending to be interested in you is actually six states away, is twenty years older than shown in the profile and is carrying on as if they are a resident of Wyoming. If you are already familiar with the geographical areas shown in these peoples profiles, then you can unmask them almost immediately by asking a simple question about a landmark or well known place there -- and then they will magically disappear while corresponding. These are NOT independent scammers performing the conversations with you -- theyre company paid employees who are given a large number of legitimate site members to manage in a particular geographical zone. Their ability to perform their assignments does vary. There are tell-tale signs that will begin to emerge and some of these people are more obvious than others. The over-use and misapplication of caps and lower case in their essays and e-mails show up rather quickly. Sayings such as my Amazing children, im living life one day at a time and Im so Grateful are classic lines used repeatedly in hundreds of the site-made faked profiles. Also, be advised that if one of the moderators -- pretending to be a site member -- takes a disliking to someone, they are authorized to deliberately provoke the person in the hope of getting them to send a hostile message in return. This qualifies as unacceptable behavior and is then used as an excuse to deny access to ones profile which seems to coincidentally result in new unauthorized charges on the members credit card.

Part of my research into this was to lead me well outside of OKCupid. There are a small number of conscience ridden persons out there who used to perform fake profiles and e-mailings for dating companies like this one and are coming forth. The pay rate for those helping these companies to defraud people really depends on the individuals communication skills. Many have a rewards system based on the number of e-mails that an employee can sustain with the unsuspecting persons. Match, as known with the ever present lawsuits in the news, has actually been caught hiring fake persons to go out with people on dates. The corporation that owns Match and OKCupid now owns most of the other dating sites as well and has almost unlimited financial depth. It can accomplish just about anything it wants, especially if millions more dollars are there for the taking. Any lawsuits lost by them can be easily paid off with the available millions that they have in petty cash. Its similar to the pharmaceutical companies who are poisoning and killing people with their products. It makes good business sense for them to do this, because paying out forty million to the drug victims families in settlements is acceptable -- if theyve made 150 million dollars in sales. Never mind the agony and the tears of the medical patients who took their products, right? This is the identical position taken by the online dating sites.

Once placed within the OKCupid Matrix system, your online experience will be very tightly managed and your exposure being only to the company made faked profiles within its manufactured parameters. In similar fashion, the other real members on the site cant see YOU, either, and the partition walls ensure that no one can find each other. Their fraudulent data base is now very sophisticated and colossal in size, looking just like a real dating site. The idea is of course to keep you hanging on with your credit cards and its been highly successful. The Consumer Complaint sites on the internet are currently ablaze with angry people who have had no success with using the site for dating (big surprise) -- and then also had the double insult of having their statements show up with new unauthorized charges on them.

OKCupid is now following the identical pattern set down by Plenty of Fish a few years back. The founder of POF started out with an honest and hugely popular dating site that gained its revenue by the advertisers simply placing their ads there. This arrangement worked out perfectly, until he realized that the profit margin could be quadrupled by crowding the site with manufactured profiles and erasing the e-mails sent between members. And with the encryption and site security being non existent on POF, many of the other dating sites routinely steal profile photos from there to create their fictional data bases. Its been reported over and over here that Match runs deactivated profiles to entice people to stay on -- and this is true. With the blending together of Match and OKCupid under one roof, there is now an endless supply of material needed to pull off the hoax and on a grand scale. And as far as the moderators and persons on their payroll who are participating in this scheme? I would describe them as being cowards and lowlifes, since they are trashing peoples feelings and are being paid to do so.

Someone out there will win over hundreds of thousands of people in the creation of a new dating site, if they could just go back to the simple concept of a free site run openly and honestly and supported by advertisers. POF had the whole world cheering for it during its first few years -- and it was a blast, as you were meeting real people there and in astonishing numbers. And then it all changed. The Matrix style of online dating systems had begun -- and good people were going to suffer. All of the dating sites are presently doing this and I do mean all of them. For example, most of the supposed Christian sites are now professional scams being run by puppet managements who are financially backed by the porn industry. Once on those supposedly Christian sites, it doesnt take long to realize that its just another fixed game and that there are no active persons even present there. Personally, I find the religious dating sites to really be the worst because they are using that as a cover. (CC is so openly fraudulent that it blows the mind).

To my fellow online dating brothers and sisters out there: I would strongly recommend that you request a new credit card account number from your card provider. The banks dont mind doing this at all and actually appreciate you telling them. And if you feel embarrassed by whole subject of being defrauded by a dating site, then just say that youve lost your card. Youll be issued a new account number and receive your new one within five business days and you will now be completely safe from finding any surprises by the dating sites on your subsequent bills. We need to starve the beast, everyone. No more credit card use.

The companies placing their advertising with OKCupid will eventually leave when they notice that there are fewer and fewer hits on their ads there -- and this will eventually bring the curtain down financially. Keep in mind that Match views this newly acquired dating site of theirs as mere entertainment value for their ownership and administrators. The parent company is doing just fine, as evidenced by the continuous TV ads featuring the paid actors who are talking about how they met their perfect matches there. Match is the big money maker and OKCupid is just a side show for them. People are extremely frustrated by the apparent lack of legal action taken in prosecuting these companies for fraud and Im with them on that. However, with this being the modern world and many people having their price? -- Match can certainly do a little creative gift giving to certain persons in any given state or district in order to help smooth things over. (Remember the Corleone family and their generous contributions to certain government officials in the movie, The Godfather?)

Once these dating companies realized that there werent any consequences for them in committing fraud online, the gold rush was on. Legitimate business sites that are selling real products on the internet seem to be held to a much higher standard, too. Interesting, isnt it. My wish is that you remove yourself from online dating entirely and youll begin to feel better within a very short time. Being on those sites is just costing you your time and life energy -- and The Evil Empire loves it that way.

The online dating industry desperately needs a Reformation. You can be a part of the effort and it all starts with that first deletion! And like Match loves to say in its staged TV ads:

Its just a click away.

Take care, everyone. Peace.

OkCupid Online profiles

Please advise why on the portfolios I've been going through on OKcupid, there's been one man who has two profiles and lives in 2 different countries. The one indicates that he lives in England - Patrick Morgan, then in another his name is Matthew and he lives in America. (no surname shown)

This is rather confusing.

Are people not screened or at least given some form of check to ensure they are who they say they are.

OkCupid App

Always have a login issues with phone numbers. Customer service is okay most of the time. The woman on there are mostly mentally ill or not very sociable. Had a woman on there report and unfriend me just because I told them i am out of work. That's wrong that okcupid is sexist and favors mostly woman on there. Majority of these " ladies" on there been on there for years. So no wonder okcupid is so boring. No wonder woman on there are probably old ladies or perverted old men that are " lonely". Be careful if you use that App. Don't be shocked if you say hi to opposite sex and then can't login in next day. It's a total ripoff and waste of time on there to be honest.

Desired outcome: Okcupid should stop allowing people to report your profile or delete your account just because they don't like you

OkCupid OKCUPID dating site

Everything was going well with OK Cupid. I texted one girl. Checked my photos to make sure that I didn't need to update due to haircuts, etc... and then they asked me to log in after they logged me out. So, I put in my phone number, received the code in my phone text, and then I received an error 8 code saying that i was banned from the site. Naturally, my question is," why'? I followed the rules and was polite. I received my usual dose of scammers and was still polite to them. My photos were appropriate and up to date. Will someone please tell me why my account has been "banned"?

Desired outcome: I want my account back asap so that I can communicate with my last contact.

OkCupid Okcupid premium purchase

Hello,

My name is Daniel Fuchs. My credit card ends with 9449 my email is [protected]@gmail.com

Yesterday, November 17 2022 I paid 87.9 NIS for your premium membership, but on the app I am still seeing my profile as a basic profile.

This is very deplorable since your prices are very expensive, but your service doesn't match this price expected standard.

I would like the get refund for this amount I paid

Screenshots of the receipt and my profile status are attached

Thanks,

Daniel

OkCupid I have more dates on J4Date.club

Their matching questions system sounds good in theory but it fails in implementation, they match you with plenty of outdated or maybe even fake profiles who never respond to your messages. I'm not ugly or picky, on J4Date.club I'm getting many messages and having some dates, but OkCupid has just been an annoying waste of time. Their A-list premium is an absolutely worthless thing as well, The biggest problems of OkCupid are too many fake accounts and low activity of the few real ones.

OkCupid Overcharged for basic subscription

I was charged $99.99 5 times between March 15, 2021 an March 15, 2022. That’s a total of $499.95. Basic costs $4.95 a month. From March 15, 2021 to September 25, 2022 is 15 months @4.95 is $74.25.

OKCupid says it’s not fraudulent, it’s the customer’s responsibility to unsubscribe or maintain the service.

I thought I had migrated to something other than basic as I got one whole “super likes” a week and was paying in advance for a better deal.

Desired outcome: Refund

OkCupid Ok cupid dating site

I let my subscription end due to the lack of quality connections. I typically got a couple likes a week...hence not worth staying. As soon as I left, I got 22 likes in 1 day. Seemed too good to be true, so, I signed up again. All 22 likes were foreign scammers. My hunch is that OKC has bots to like your profile to lure you back in. This is fraud and illegal. I complained and they refunded me. I checked the profile to ensure it was indeed off, I got 16 likes in a few minutes. This is absolutely fraud.

OkCupid Use it only if you want to struggle with automatic renewals, bogus charges, being put on auto- subscription and so on

The amount of pretty ladies is close to zero. I switched to

AdultsFun.club

- it's a European site and I find it a lot better: more honest, there are no bogus charges, you know what you pay for and their ladies are awesome (I should have put this first). I'm starting to have real dates with very pretty ladies, which used to be a big problem on OkCupid for some reason.

OkCupid Complaint

I had deleted my Ok Cupid account. I then wanted to get back on the App. It didn't allow me to make a new profile, because it recognized my email. I then tried signing in. First I got a 6 digit verification code, which I inserted and was accepted. It then asked for me to enter my email and password, which I no longer knew. I got an email with a link to reset the password. This link asked for verification via phone number. This second time around, my phone was not verified and I got the note that the number was invalid or already in use (YES, by me, as verified before). I sent an email asking for support. I had to explain the same situation 3 times, with screenshots attached. Finally, the "support" person said that she would send my complaint to a "specialist". I wonder who I was writing to before. Instead of the "specialist" analizing what went wrong with OK Cupid's system, it asked me to send OkCupid a copy of a photo id, my address and my birth date. I obviously didn't, in order to protect MYSELF. I wonder if this is even legal! In order to use the app, they need an email and a phone number, both have been verified often enough. I truly would consider legal action and I wonder who is running this questionable app, which is asking for this kind of personal information.

OkCupid OKCupid

I paid you for a service that you have not provided.

I paid to have access to your dating site but cannot make use of it fully - it's a tool that doesn't work as it's sold.

Specifically, there appears to be a critical function where one person 'likes' another and that person can offer an introductory message, however no such option is available to me. Whether this would make me more dateable is debatable, but that I should be able to participate fully following my upgrade to a full package should be without doubt.

Following payment of £60 for a month's access allow me full access, or don't take my money at all.

If you like you can give me a full refund and close my account. Otherwise explain your position.

Regards,
Lucjan

Desired outcome: Message: "I don't see likes" So I must send a message right? But how? If I'm not right for their profile why show me?

OkCupid Allowing a known scammer to use ok cupid

Ok Cupid allowed a known scammer, identified as LERI age 33, to stay on its site. HE contacted me and I naively thought he was a legitimate contact. However he proved to be a total scammer and OK CUPID should have screened for and eliminated such reprehensible individuals using this dating site to prey on unsuspecting individuals. They should never have allowed the person to have access to its clients. I would never use Ok Cupid again and they should suffer consequences for allowing known scammers to gain access to their site.

OkCupid Ignored my mental health Issues

Ignores mental health issues. They are completely uneducated about mental health and they don't care. The irony is the administration is run by millenials which hypicritically repeat everything they shame their parent (ths boomers for). Being autistic I have never existed or mattered to anyone. I have just wanted a loving partner and never found that. Don't let degrees fool you, many people still get away with cheating, my generation is a perfect example of that. Seeing that I was banned just makes me wish I were dead. Okcupid doesn't care! Below they indurectly call me an outsided insulting me and calling me a jerk!

Desired outcome: Shut okcupid down

OkCupid Fraudulent website

FBI needs to investigate this website. Almost every profile match I had was a fake account. Foreigners that try to get you to message on apps that are related to scamming and stealing people's identities and hacking information into phones. I tried blocking a number and it wouldn't process. I had to call Verizon support to get it blocked and they stated that there was an attempt to process maleware.

Questions are very politically charged to the point where it's biased and there are people I know that have deleted their accounts years ago and their profile is still able to be seen. It's just not ok Cupid with fraudulent activity it's almost all the dating sites. Ten years ago I used several sites and never saw anything like this.
