E-Harmony Review: A Disappointing and Frustrating Experience
E-Harmony is one of those dating sites that promises to help you find your dream partner with just a click of a button. However, the reality is far from what they advertise. The first thing that hits you is the exorbitant membership fees, which are way too high for what they offer. But that's not the worst part. The questionnaire that you have to fill out before you even get to see any matches is excruciatingly tedious and time-consuming. And even after all that effort, what follows is a downward spiral of utter frustration and disappointment.
As many have stated here, E-Harmony's slick marketing and advertising campaigns lead one to believe that finding your dream partner is just a click away. But the truth is far from it. I signed up for a three-month membership, thankfully offered at a reduced promotional price. Following the tedious process of filling out the questionnaire, I was sent my very first six matches - yes, there is no typo - just six. And then depression set in!
You see, E-Harmony holds this view that they are professionally qualified in the art of perfect match-making. Erroneously, they hold a view that their system is infallible and hence believe that they and ONLY they are qualified to make a judgment on who is best suited to each of their members. And thus commences their dictatorial right to choose the "perfect" match for you. Indeed their contemptuous arrogance extends to every aspect of the selection process, to such a point, all control is completely withdrawn from their members, treating them as nothing more than a mono-cellular life form.
Herewith, some of the incredibly restrictive aspects from E-Harmony:
1. They send you approximately half a dozen names a day - That is it. So in the event you do not like any of their offerings, you must wait 24 hours to receive the next batch!
2. They have a secondary option called "What if" which are purportedly close (but not perfect) matches - which one can browse through, but even these are incredibly restricted, and so if nothing suitable is found there, they end the list with a message telling you must wait until tomorrow to view more members. What the hell is that?
3. Through their overly-zealous control, E-Harmony has completely ignored one of the most basic elements in match-making: chemistry. No, they firmly believe everything revolves around their stupid psychometric questionnaire.
4. However, E-Harmony allows you some control, (very small though it is) such as distance and ethnicity, albeit, in truth even though one expresses specifics, I often received "suggestions" which fell outside my criteria, so basically the filters do not work. Indeed, as an agnostic, I specified I was not interested in members who held strong religious faiths, yet often received proposals of these types of individuals.
As such, the whole system is flawed and fails to hit the grade by a long shot. Furthermore, the restrictive daily offerings are incredibly annoying, since many of the suggestions were not to my liking, simply because I felt zero attraction to the women they offered.
Finally, I have to say, of the members I wrote to, 90% never replied. So when I wanted to send a follow-up message to encourage a response, once again E-Harmony came in with the obsessive control factor, denying me such an option. When I called their customer service, they told me there was nothing I could do about it and just would have to wait patiently (an "eternity") for said member to reply.
Regardless of these aspects, worst of all is that their match-making skills are in reality grossly inadequate, since often I was sent "perfect matches" which were clearly nothing of the sort. Allow me to elucidate, I am not referring to physical appearance here, rather more, their lifestyle, hobbies, and interests.
In conclusion, I can say E-Harmony is a rubbish dating site, for in their zeal, they have completely removed the delight of finding a perfect partner. Through their overly-confident control of all aspects of the selection process, they steam-roll their members into a state of complete submission, ultimately leading to apathy, thus E-Harmony is not only incredibly annoying but a most boring affair.
Through their bigoted mind-set, E-Harmony has completely lost focus of the essential elements in finding true love, by treating their members like kindergarten children; as though only E-H is qualified to make a sound judgment as to what their members seek (require), ultimately treating adults as incompetent Neanderthals; incapable of making a rational decision about what they deem a good match and who they wish to date.
Do not waste your money on E-Harmony. They will drive you to despair!
Mixed Review: Pros and Cons of a Dating Site
This site is worth considering, but I wouldn't give it my full recommendation because of a few reasons. Firstly, the testing system is long and can get boring and tiresome. Secondly, relationships found on the site are not guaranteed to last because every relationship is different and no site can predict the future of these relationships. Thirdly, there are problems with their charging policies, as some users have reported being charged even after disabling the auto-renewal feature or being charged without proper notice.
Furthermore, some users have reported issues with the matching system, with matches being inaccurate and not meeting their specifications. Some have also had difficulty removing or canceling their account, with the site refusing to do so and insisting on payment for the remaining months of their contract.
Despite these issues, people do find success on the site, and it is still much cheaper per month than many specialist dating sites out there. However, it's important to take note of these issues before signing up.
Eharmony Review: Unfair Policies and Terrible Customer Service Experience
Eharmony is a dating website that I recently had a terrible experience with. I submitted a suggestion to improve their service, and they randomly closed my account. I tried to contact them by phone, but the representative had nothing useful to say other than telling me to reply to the email I received. The email stated that they closed my account based on a recent review of my account information and activity. They did not disclose the specific reason for their decision, but they provided some general information regarding such closure decisions.
Their terms and conditions have some scam indicators. For instance, they reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your access to any of the services, without notice, for any reason or no reason. They also reserve the right to remove your account information or data from their services and any other records at any time at their sole discretion. In the event your access to any of the services is suspended due to the breach of their agreement, all fees then paid to eHarmony by you will be nonrefundable, and all outstanding or pending payments will immediately be due. This is an unfair policy that encourages a fraudulent situation where the company could cancel accounts after subscriptions are paid for and not have to provide any service.
When I contacted their customer service center, they provided no useful information as to why the account was canceled and referred me to respond to an email. There was no phone contact for the section that deals with the canceling of customer accounts. They even sent me some sort of legal affidavit requesting personal legal information about my marital status, under penalty of perjury. Since giving them the personal legal information would be unreasonable considering the nature of their business and reputation, as well as the means in which they requested it via a webmail service, which is simply inadequately secure for such personal and vital information, I did not provide it.
Their terms and conditions state that eHarmony and its contractors may use various ways of verifying information that users have provided. However, none of those ways are perfect, and you agree that eHarmony and its contractors will have no liability to you arising from any incorrectly verified information. In other words, if they are wrong and threaten you with perjury, they are not liable. So when I didn't provide them with the legal information, they canceled my account.
I think eHarmony and other sites like it are big business and big giant scams. It's a waste of money, and you should never sign up for this service. They can close your account whenever they want for whatever reason or no reason, and they can screw you over and not be liable. I put a fraud complaint in with my credit card company, and they are getting my money back.
Mixed Feelings: My Experience with eHarmony Online Dating Site
I gotta say, my experience with eHarmony was pretty typical of most online dating sites. There were some good things, but also some bad things that made me question whether it was worth it. I signed up and paid in October 2020, and at first, I had a few women send me messages and view my profile. But then I stopped logging in until January, when I started dating a woman I met on the site. When we broke up a couple of months later, I logged back on and noticed that my profile wasn't getting viewed as much and people had stopped flirting with me. It was like the interest level had just disappeared.
One thing I really didn't like about eHarmony was how easy it was for people to block others. When I announced on my profile that I was in a relationship, someone didn't like my honesty and blocked me. The site's way of announcing that you've been blocked is pretty pathetic, too. They just say "so and so says GOODBYE," and then you can't send them a message anymore. I even got blocked by someone I never even contacted! I suggested to the admin that they change this feature so that it wouldn't cause any bad blood, but they didn't seem to understand why I wanted to be treated with dignity.
I also suggested that they use a feature like Tinder to only match me with women who were physically attracted to me or in my age range. But they said they wanted to give us as many matches as possible and let us decide. I guess that makes sense, but it also made me wonder if they were just trying to keep up appearances that there were more good matches than there actually were.
Overall, I found that the women on eHarmony were mostly socially inept and insecure "church" types. This isn't a good site for people looking for age gap relationships, either. I just sensed that it wasn't the right fit for me. And when I announced on my profile that I was no longer a paying customer and couldn't communicate if messaged, I got an email from tech support saying I wasn't allowed to announce it. That seemed pretty ridiculous to me.
In the end, I decided to just delete my account and move on. I think online dating can be a good way to meet people, but it's also important to remember that there are some factors you can't control. Sometimes it's better to just go out and meet people in person. I'm looking forward to going down to my local coffee shop and getting a smile and a flirty message from the barista behind the counter. That feels a lot more real to me than anything I experienced on eHarmony.

Eharmony dating site
I signed up in April on a 24 month plan. I haven't been able to use the app or website. The pages simply do not load. The app doesn't load. No one can see my pages because my visitors feature is automatically switched off despite me constantly stitching it on. My page is automatically hidden every say.
I don’t know how to complain to eharmony because their page doesn't load at all.
Please help, I want my money back!
Ayan
Desired outcome: I want to cancel the subscription and get my money back.
Fraudulent subscription
In January I decided to look on eharmony website on my phone for free as offered. While I was looking it took me to the payment page and said I signed up for a yearly subscription. I was mortified. I emailed them immediately and explained what happened and was told 'sorry we don't offer refunds.' I notified my credit card company and they closed my card and I changed several passwords. I emailed them again stressing that someone must have hacked my account and I will not be responsible for the charges. No response. I recently received a notice from a debt collector dated 7/24/2023 regarding clearing my eharmony debt collection. I called the collector and explained everything to the person on the phone and they said they will speak with eharmony. I have not used there website ( other than to look for free) nor did I ever intend to subscribe. I have notified BBB and Consumer reports. I do not know if it was eharmony that was able to hack into my phone or someone else. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and for them to rescind the collection notice given they knew the circumstances.
Eharmony is a scam
I have a paid subscription and don’t have any visitors or likes and a message that I sent is not in messages so it never got sent. I had to call 7 numbers to find one that worked. The CS rep said the account was blocked but they don’t know why. It had to go to the “specialists” department and they would get back to me in 24-48 hrs. I have sent messages for three days and I get nothing. I am on Match as well so I know it’s not my profile, this site sucks! Customer service is a joke!
e-harmony subscription
I paid for a one year subscription and stopped using it about 6 months in as I didn't want it anymore. I closed my account with them and could no longer log in under my account. 6 months later (this June) I was billed over $500 for a renewal that I didn't ask for or approve. This was 3 times the initial one year subscription. I contacted them and told them I didn't want to renew both by email and by phone (after unsuccessfully trying multiple numbers they provide that don't go to them.) They denied any refund even though I could show them is stopped using the service.
Desired outcome: Refund of annual subscription
Unethical practice - taking un authorised funds
I Joined e-harmony in January I paid 250 dollars which I agreed to. I didn't like the app so I deactivated my account a couple of Months later. I assumed that this also cancelled my account. 2 days ago they took $600 out of my account on an automated year renewal. I never received any kind of email or notification to inform me that the subscription is up for renewal. As I said I deactivated and deleted my app and account. I dont use the app surely their Team can see that I have be non active/ deactivated, How can they ethically charge me for a whole year without checking with the customer especially an inactive customer! I have asked for a refund for the reason I explained above. I dont use the app and wont use the app and they are refusing to give me a refund. It is a licence to steal money from people. $600 dollars is alot of money to take from someone without any notification and then refuse to refund them even though they can see that I have be non active for months and months and then to charge me again for a whole another year is unethical
Desired outcome: I want a full refund for the yearly subscription
Same thing happened to me. They are crooks
Eharmony Service and Cancellation - Slimy, Scammer Company
AVOID THIS SCAM COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
Joined E-Harmony based on their deceptive web of lies. Opted for the 1 year with tax came to $412.00 in 4 payments of $103.
Joined May 2nd and they billed me $103 May 2nd, June 2nd, July 2nd, caught them before the 4th bill and they agreed not to bill it - This is not good enough!
There are no matches near me, fake profiles and the few people that are on there are extremely far away, Much Older and fake!
They deceptively Front Bill people before you even use the service. So now I have paid for 9 months and am in the beginning of month 3 - First payment.
Their customer service is useless and the person supposedly "Jessica" threatened me that they would get collections after me if I didn't pay.
I am now in an email exchange with another slimy employee of theirs named Shawn R.
I am trying to dispute credit card charges and will also try small claims court for the scumbags!
Faulty Service, Dysfunctional Website, and No Refunds
Horrible company, they tempt you with big font 1 free month subscription invitation and advertisement then entice you with 6 or more moth of contract (tiny font) then automatically reactivate for the next 6 behind your back and the threatening with legal services debt collectors and law enforcers to claim money for their scam services that don't work. Absolute appalling company it should not be legal and exists on the net.
100% agree dealing with these fake slimy Christian Scammers now too!
Eharmony Subscription
I signed up with Eharmony a while ago after seeing commercials and praise reports from them it wasn't going that way for me so after a few day 3 days I called to cancel they said u can't get a refund I said that's fine keep my payment and cancel my subscription they wouldn't and I've been getting call and email from collections & they locked my account up! I just wanted to cancel and they wouldn't allow me to I was transferred to person after person department after department and I tried to get this matter resolved for like 7 straight days. To this day it has been resolved and I still get emails and phone calls from collections. I even contacted like 5 different places to help me with this matter and Eharmony refused to respond to any of them.
Desired outcome: I want to cancel the account out and ow nothing further the deceived me and didn't deliver services promised.
Slimy, Shady Scammers!
eHarmony Review: Faulty Service, Dysfunctional Website, and No Refunds
This dating site, eHarmony, has been getting a lot of attention lately, and not in a good way. Despite their convincing advertising, many people are finding that this site is not living up to its competition. As a free limited member, I was promised that by becoming a paid premium member, I would be able to view the pictures of other members with clarity. However, this was not the case. Instead, I found that the majority of "matching" profiles that eHarmony suggested had no photos whatsoever. This never happened while I was an unpaid member, and there was no disclosure that this would occur. In addition, some of the photos that did appear were those of deleted profiles.
When I expressed my dissatisfaction with this behavior, eHarmony did not offer any remedy or correction. I also contacted them numerous times regarding the dysfunctionality of their website and app, but their responses were scripted and did not admit any fault on their part. Despite my numerous requests for correction, they refused to give me a refund, claiming that their 3-day refund policy was state-specific.
It seems that eHarmony is reserving the right to provide faulty service for a fee, along with website and app dysfunctionality, with the confidence that they do not need to answer for their negligence. This is not acceptable, and it is important that people are aware of the issues with this dating site. "Every 14 minutes, someone gets cheated at eHarmony" would serve as a more fitting slogan.
Disappointing Experience with eHarmony: Poor Customer Service, Unimpressive Matches, and User-Unfriendly System
So, I gotta say, my experience with eHarmony was not great. At first, they closed my account for no reason, but then they gave me a free extension until 11/12/2015. I was pretty impressed until I realized that they were using American date format and that was actually November 12th, not December 11th. I mean, come on, can't they at least try to make it more user-friendly for people outside the US?
Anyway, I decided to close my account because eHarmony just wasn't doing it for me. But even after I requested to close it, I kept getting emails saying I needed to "fix" my account or risk losing access. I mean, what does that even mean? I can still access it, but I'm not paying for a service that doesn't work.
And don't even get me started on the matches they sent me. Most of them had a high school education, which is fine, but I'm looking for someone who's ambitious and inspiring. Plus, the questions they ask to match people up are kind of ridiculous. One match was passionate about people who don't use turn signals when driving. Like, really? That's supposed to be a similarity?
I haven't paid for the service, so I can't speak to the quality of matches for people who do pay. But based on my experience, I wouldn't waste my money. And the fact that eHarmony isn't responding to reviews on SiteJabber doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
Update: After eight requests to upgrade my account (which I refused), I finally found a chat link and was able to close my account. I gave them feedback on why I was closing it, but I doubt they'll do anything about it. We'll see.
Mixed Feelings About eHarmony: A Review of the Dating Site
So, I gotta say, if you're thinking about trying out eHarmony, you might wanna think twice. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are some good things about it, but overall, it just wasn't worth it for me.
One thing I did like was the interface. It's pretty easy to use, and you can see bigger photos of your matches than on some other sites. Plus, they have these icebreaker questions that make it easier to start a conversation with someone. And the secure email and phone numbers are a nice touch, especially if you're worried about giving out your personal info.
But there were a lot of things I didn't like. For one, I'm a middle-aged woman looking for men in my age group, but all the guys who contacted me were either way older or had some serious issues. I mean, I get that men tend to prefer younger women, but come on. And when I tried contacting guys in my own age group, I didn't get any responses.
Another thing that bugged me was the way they record which profiles you view and then reveal that to the person you viewed unless you pay extra. One guy got really creepy about it, and another guy blocked me when I asked to use the secure line instead of calling him directly. And I got contacted by a bunch of hacked accounts that were obviously scams.
Overall, I just wasn't satisfied with eHarmony. They advertise a huge membership, but when you pay for it, you don't get many matches and they don't respond to you. I wish it was better, because I do like their software better than some other sites, but it just didn't work out for me. I'm still looking for a site that's as nice as this one, but with more matches in my age group.
eHarmony Review: A Disappointing Experience with Outdated Matches and Glitches
I gotta say, I'm usually a pretty positive person when it comes to leaving reviews. I mean, if a business or service is good, why not give them a 5-star rating, right? But when it comes to eHarmony, I gotta be real with you guys. As someone who used to be a satisfied account holder for years, I can't get away from this site fast enough.
Back in the day, eHarmony was the bomb. I used to get tons of quality dates from this site, and it was super easy to navigate. You could easily identify and archive out those who hadn't logged in for weeks or months, or who just didn't appeal to you. But now? Forget about it.
First of all, eHarmony removed the "last login" identifier, so you have no idea if your matches are current or not. Over time, 50-75% of your matches may have been outdated, so being able to note and filter by this fact was super important. But now, you're left with a hundred or more matches and no idea who is really currently active. It's like a cruel joke.
And don't even get me started on the archiving function. It's supposed to help you keep your matches organized, but it doesn't work reliably. So what happens is you have tons of matches keep piling up to where you can't navigate through them. And since you don't know which ones are current, you're left with a mess of potential candidates that may or may not even exist.
To make matters worse, the site's "upgraded site design" has made it super sluggish and slow to navigate. And half the time, it won't even accept your login information. And why is it that more and more frequently, when you write a "quality match," you get an error message AFTER you send that user an email stating that the user is no longer active? If the user account is gone, then REMOVE IT! Don't leave it out there as bait!
I think eHarmony knows that the quality of their subscribers has gone down, so they do everything possible to trick you into believing otherwise. But the truth is, eHarmony was once my favorite dating site, and now it's nothing but a huge disappointment. I used to get 1-2 quality eHarmony dates per month, and now I'd be lucky to score that many per year.
I'm not saying it's just me, either. I've had consistent luck meeting candidates on PlentyOfFish, OKcupid, and ChristianMingle. And I'm a normal, fun, decent-looking, Christian guy with a lot to offer. I don't want to waste hours trying to manage potential candidates in the queue who may or may not be current or even exist. And I definitely don't want to pay the hefty monthly fee eHarmony charges.
So my recommendation? Find other, more practical dating sites to use. Because going forward, you'll waste hours on eHarmony without results. Trust me on this one.
eHarmony Review: Terrible Matches, False Information Accusations, and a Ban
This site is just terrible! Let me tell you about my experience with eHarmony. At first, I joined for free just to see what it was like. I did get a lot of matches, but when I looked into it, I realized that only two of them were actually in my area. Everyone else was in a different state or hours away. I was disappointed, but I stupidly decided to pay for a membership, thinking that I would get more matches if I did. But guess what? After over a month, I didn't get any matches at all! I was wondering what had happened because before, I had so many men messaging me.
I should mention that I'm an attractive woman, and I saw some really unattractive men on the site. I mean, some of them had messed up yellow teeth, were overweight, and looked older than their age. I only saw two men who were decent looking. I felt so sad and disappointed. I couldn't even see their faces before I joined for free because they blur them out until you pay. So needless to say, it was very disappointing to pay and then see these faces.
I emailed the company to ask them what was going on because I wasn't getting matched anymore. No one was even messaging me. I was hoping to get better matches. So they sent me an email saying that I was restricted! And they never let me know because I was still able to log into my account and see people. I could put pictures up and everything. Then they said that they looked into my personal information and found that I had false information! So they banned me! Can you believe it? They banned me from their site?! I was thinking of canceling anyway, so thank you for doing it for me and saving me the grief because it looks like from other reviews that they make it hard for you to cancel.
They scam you! The only piece of information that I had up that was false was my first name. The reason for that is because I was scared someone would have my name and look me up and have my phone number or even get my address that way. I already had my real last name and where I lived up there. Obviously, once I got to know someone, I would tell them my real name. Hey, this is my nickname I use, which I didn't even see anything wrong with it. Meanwhile, they have married people, narcissists, and pedophiles on their site!
They told me they would refund my money, which they better have because I didn't even talk back to one person. I have to look into this because I paid like $200.
Anyway, this site is just horrible, and they did me a favor by banning me. Most of the matches were not attractive, or the ones that were decent and had some common interests with me were hours away or in another state. So when they messaged me, I never answered any of the men. The bottom line is that I'm off to Tinder or another dating website. I want to find love, but in order to find that, I need some attraction at first. My god, eHarmony, I look too good to be on your website, and I also noticed that the women looked just as bad, even when they tried to use a filter. What a joke this site is, and thank you for not having me on your site.
Mixed feelings about eHarmony: Detailed profiles are great, but messaging system and subscription prices need work
I gotta say, I'm one of the few who actually likes eHarmony. They really encourage you to take your time and create a detailed profile, which is great because I want to know more about the person I'm potentially matching with. It's important to me that I'm not wasting my time or anyone else's, and having a detailed profile helps with that.
Now, I know some people might be put off by the fact that you can't see photos of your matches right away, but honestly, it's not a big deal. You can always exchange phone numbers or whatever and get around that. Plus, it's not like you're going to be swiping through hundreds of profiles at once, so taking the time to get to know someone before seeing their photo isn't a bad thing.
That being said, I have run into a few issues with the app. For one, I've had some trouble with the messaging system. I've exchanged a few messages with a couple of people, but when I try to read their responses, it takes me to a page with safety tips instead. It's a bit frustrating, especially since I haven't even seen their answers to the open questions yet. And to make matters worse, it seems like any further communication with these people is behind a paywall. It's a bit suspicious, if you ask me.
And speaking of paying, the subscription prices are pretty steep. The minimum subscription length is six months, which is a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I mean, if you're on a dating service for more than a few months and still haven't found anyone worth going on a date with, then maybe the service isn't that great. I would have been more willing to pay for a shorter subscription at a reasonable rate, but that's not an option.
One thing that really bothers me is the lack of a keyword search feature. I want to be able to search for specific things in a profile, like interests or hobbies, but that's not possible with eHarmony. It's a bit frustrating, especially since other dating apps like OkCupid have that feature even with their free version.
Overall, I'm still on the fence about eHarmony. On one hand, I appreciate the emphasis on creating a detailed profile and getting to know someone before seeing their photo. But on the other hand, the messaging system is a bit wonky, the subscription prices are steep, and the lack of a keyword search feature is a bit frustrating. I'm not sure if I would recommend it to others, but I'm willing to give it a bit more time and see how it goes.
eHarmony Review: Disappointing Experience with Limited Communication and Costly Membership Packages
I used eHarmony for six months and I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed. They claim to have a lot of pros, like a large user base, optimum privacy with secure dating options, reliable compatibility matching, and suggested matches to help you comb through millions of options. But let me tell you, the cons are pretty significant too. Limited free communication, a timely process to complete a profile, the inability to search for your own matches, and the fact that it's not for singles looking for casual dating. Plus, the membership packages are more costly than other sites.
As a former user, I think eHarmony has a lot of room for improvement. I've spoken to customer service a few times and it seems like they're just in it for the money. I've heard other people say the same thing. Sure, they have a large user base, but they choose who they match you up with. Their algorithm is supposed to be successful, but I met more jerks on eHarmony than any other site I've used. Guys who were just looking for a high-quality girl for sex. That's a big problem, especially since eHarmony isn't for casual dating.
They claim to have optimum privacy with secure dating options, but that conflicts with the limited free communication. They offer free communication weekends, but even as a paying member, it's still limited. And you have to go through their timely process to complete a profile. After you pay for membership, they give you three days to try it out. But it took me a week or more to communicate with most of my matches. It all depends on you and the other person. If you're too eager to communicate, it can be unnerving for the other person.
I had issues with my matches being too far away. I wanted to keep them local, but that gave me way fewer matches. When I called customer service, they told me to widen my search. But that would have opened the door to a long-distance relationship, which most people avoid. And why pay to meet someone who lives far away? Most people fail because of long-distance relationships. Match.com has local meetings where you can meet in person to see if you connect. It's not too difficult. EHarmony should do the same.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend eHarmony at all. I used it once and didn't feel like my money was worth it. I wanted to cancel and try Match.com, but eHarmony wouldn't refund my money. I thought I had a week to try it, but it's only three days. I heard it's a week internationally, but I'm not sure.
Eharmony.com Review: Scammers, Fake Profiles, and Auto-Upgrades - Avoid at All Costs!
Eharmony.com is a website that claims to help you find your perfect match. However, my experience with this site was far from perfect. First of all, I was bombarded with an obnoxious questionnaire that took forever to complete. After finally finishing it, I was left wondering why I even bothered.
But that was just the beginning of my troubles. When I read their terms of service, I discovered that they can't guarantee that you won't be contacted by third parties. This means that you'll receive fake messages from jokers on the site. They also use "test" profiles from time to time to monitor site activity and create interest. This means that you'll see fake profiles and pictures, many of them stolen from Facebook, Tumblr, or porn websites.
But that's not all. There are private scammers looking to draw you off the site to hotels, apartments, or housing project addresses. One message even came from a truck stop! Many of the people on the site aren't just interested in dates. They're seeking "arrangements", chronic divorcees, college girls "working" their way through school, druggies looking for pals to get high with, girls looking for sugardaddies, Russian and Nigerian scammers looking for a cheap ride into the U.S., and men and women wanting "pay for play" hookups.
All of these sites have one thing in common: they're all looking for your credit card information. They'll sign you up for a trial membership, usually 1-3 days. Once that membership times out, they'll auto-upgrade you to a full paid account, and that's when they rob you for close to $200. Then they register you with other scam sites without you knowing it.
Because I wasn't paying attention to the warning signs, they were charging me for three different sites before I knew what was happening. By the time I realized that all those pictures and profiles couldn't possibly be real, the damage was already done. I needed to cancel my credit card and close my checking account to get rid of the thieves.
The first clue that something isn't right is your email inbox. Dozens of people claiming to have seen your profile and liked it, and you haven't even finished it or posted anything yet! Many of the messages that you get from them are fake, or come from towns that don't exist. Either that or the names of the towns are spelled wrong or the town is too small to have that many people signed up.
I was emailed by a woman using the name of the town of Centralia, Pennsylvania, which was destroyed by a coal mine fire in the 1980s! Another email, supposedly from Ventura Beach, California, had the Eiffel Tower in the picture! One of the few people to contact me that claimed to be from my same city didn't even know the name of the main street and had Yosemite Park in their profile picture.
It's clear that this site is full of scammers and fake profiles. They'll take your money and make it difficult to get a refund. Their customer service is also not helpful. So, my advice to you is to avoid all these scam artists and sites. Don't make the same mistakes that I did.
eHarmony Review: A Total Scam - Don't Waste Your Time or Money
I joined eHarmony on July 8th, 2017 and completed my profile with 100% accuracy. I even uploaded six photos of myself, and I must say, I am quite attractive. However, I didn't receive a single email from eHarmony or any of its members for almost four weeks. I was quite disappointed and decided to call their customer service to inquire about the issue. To my surprise, I was told that I needed to log in regularly to get matches. I was taken aback because there was no information provided when I paid for the service about the need to log in regularly to get matches.
I logged in, but there were still no messages. I called customer service again to cancel my subscription and get a full refund. However, they refused to refund my money and told me that I needed to log in regularly to "refresh" my profile and get new matches. I was quite frustrated because they never disclosed how they help people connect with one another. It seemed like they didn't help at all, and it was all up to each person to reach out and make the first contact.
Other dating services like Zoosk provide tools to their members that make it easier to connect with potential matches. They have "daily matches" and "carousel" sent to your email, and you can view different potential matches and mark "yes" or "no" as to whether you want to meet that person. When two people say "yes" to one another, you get an email from Zoosk that you both have some interest in each other. This breaks the ice and makes it easier to contact each other because you already know there is some interest.
EHarmony, on the other hand, has no tools whatsoever. They charge more than double what most dating services charge, and they don't disclose how it operates. If you are not happy, they keep every penny and refuse to refund. They even send fake profiles of someone interested to appease you when you threaten to cancel and dispute the charge. This happened to me. The very next day after I called to cancel, I received a message from a very handsome man that looked like he stepped out of GQ magazine with 6 pack abs standing with his shirt off on a surfboard. I emailed him, but he never answered me, and the next day his profile was no longer available, and the message was missing.
I accused eHarmony of sending fake members as being interested, but they refused to refund my money. I have disputed it with my Visa and will report them as well. It is a total SCAM. Don't waste your time with eHarmony. Try Zoosk or Plenty of Fish or other services over them. All they do is take your money and offer no assistance in finding matches. It is very expensive and is much less effective than lesser expensive services. They try to lead you to believe that they are of the higher caliber in dating, but nobody reaches out to each other because of fear of rejection. In four weeks, I had only one person contact me.
In conclusion, eHarmony is a rip-off. They send out fake emails to entice you to believe people are interested when the reality is nobody contacts one another. They have no tools to help you, and their service is much less effective than other dating services. They don't care about their customers and will keep all your money and will not back down. Don't fall for their trap.
Nightmare on eHarmony: My Experience with a Scammer Named Roberto Fabio Mussi
I decided to give eHarmony a try in hopes of finding my soulmate. Unfortunately, my experience with this dating site was nothing short of a nightmare. I met a man named Roberto Fabio Mussi who claimed to be Italian and a computer programmer living in Campbellspot, Wisconsin. He told me he was going to Africa to install computers in schools, and that's when things started to get crazy.
While in Africa, Roberto claimed he didn't have enough money to return to the United States. I ended up sending him $7,000, but that was just the beginning of my troubles. Roberto's son supposedly died in a car accident, and he was diagnosed with leukemia. He left Africa and got halfway back to the United States before ending up in Turkey, where a police officer named Joseph Fawaz became involved in the situation.
Roberto claimed he was terminally ill and desperately needed to return to the United States to die in my arms because he was deeply in love with me. He even hacked into my computer system with the help of a woman named Mrs. Peterson. I eventually got the police involved and raised a fuss, and Roberto suddenly got airline tickets to return to the United States. He told me he would be at the Atlanta International Airport on September 7th, 2017.
When I went to the airport, Roberto was nowhere to be found. I later received emails claiming that he died on his way to Atlanta, but there was no proof of this anywhere. EHarmony's response to my situation was less than helpful, and they refused to refund my money. I was left heartbroken, scammed out of my money, and with a mess of bills and lies.
I want to warn others to stay away from eHarmony and similar dating sites. They will only break your heart and drain your bank account. The local police department laughed at me, the international police thought I was hysterical, and nobody in Istanbul, Turkey cared. I had to work two jobs just to save my apartment and avoid falling into this type of situation again.
Please take my review seriously and avoid eHarmony at all costs. I was just like you, looking for someone to share my life with, but instead, I got used, mistreated, and left with nothing. Don't make the same mistake I did.
No such thing as a REFUND!
I signed up for the app and was easily misled because of the poorly designed interface! The app is not user-friendly at all!
I thought that I would be charged only $14 a month and that I could pay every month since I am not familiar with the app, and I want to explore it first (as it turned out 50% discount applies only for the first month and you have to pay the full amount for the rest of the months). On top of that, they charge you the full price within the first four months; you cannot pay month by month. One hour later, I realized I made a mistake and was trying to cancel it. But there is no such thing as a refund or cancelation! Moreover, there is no single reminder while you are making a transaction that your payment is non-refundable. People are simply being taken advantage of not fully reading the Terms&Conditions document.
Desired outcome: I want to cancel it and get full refund!
eharmony won't let me cancel
I signed up for a 6th month membership from this dating site. No dates, not connections. Nothing.
When I attempted to deleted the site at the end of my 6 months, I saw that I was suddenly signed up for an additional year.
This was not my agreement. Not only was I signed up for a year...it was more tripple the cost.
My attempts to cancel payment, my attempt to contact eharmony were futile.
No one from eharmony has returned a phone call or email and I was still charged.
Desired outcome: I wans my money refunded for a service for which I did not agree to or which I did not knowingly agree to.
About eHarmony
One of the things that sets eHarmony apart from other dating sites is its unique matching system. Instead of simply allowing users to browse through profiles and message each other, eHarmony uses a proprietary algorithm to match users based on a variety of factors, including personality traits, values, and interests. This means that users are more likely to find someone who is truly compatible with them, rather than just someone who looks good on paper.
Another key feature of eHarmony is its focus on long-term relationships. While other dating sites may be geared more towards casual hookups or short-term flings, eHarmony is designed to help users find lasting love. This is reflected in the site's comprehensive personality questionnaire, which takes around 30 minutes to complete and is designed to help users understand themselves better and find partners who share their values and goals.
In addition to its matching system and focus on long-term relationships, eHarmony also offers a range of other features to help users connect and communicate. These include a messaging system, a "What If?" feature that suggests potential matches based on users' preferences, and a mobile app that allows users to access the site on the go.
Overall, eHarmony is a well-established and highly respected dating site that is ideal for singles who are serious about finding a long-term partner. With its unique matching system, focus on compatibility, and range of features, eHarmony is a great choice for anyone who is looking for love online.
