I was planning to use expedia to book a hotel room, but as I was giving my credit card information, after I accept the booking , a pop up came out saying that the room was taking and wasnt available.

However, I receive a payment transaction EXPEDIA [protected] EXPEDIA.COM WA on my credit card of $111.87.

I would like to you to review and make the proper refund if the transaction was made, because the booking wasnt made.

I was charged one amount on Expedia for a hotel booking and when I received the bill from the hotel upon checkout saw that it was $125.60 less! I feel I am entitled to a refund. Customer service is nonexistent! I will be sure to tell everyone I know and everyone on social media what a terrible company this is! The chat rep gave me some line about that's what their charged at the time. How does this site offer any convenience to customers? It doesn't and just keeps the overcharged money

In 2021, I had to cancel a September 2021Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Malta due to COVID. The flight was reserved via Expedia. The flight was finally successfully cancelled and we were given credit by Lufthansa. This was a round trip flight.

In 2022, I made a subsequent Lufthansa flight reservation via Expedia. The flight was to depart Frankfurt on 27 October 2022, Lufthansa flight LH1310 with a 1355 departure and an arrival time of 1625 in Malta. This was a business class flight with seats 8C and 8D being assigned to my wife and me. The flight had to be in the afternoon as we were arriving in Frankfurton on a morning flight.

According to Lufthansa, Expedia changed our 2022 flight to Malta from 27 October to 9 September 2022. I contacted an Expedia representative who acknowledged Expedia was the responsible party who made the change and she would coordinate with Lufthansa on the matter so the flight information could be corrected back to 27 October 2022.

I am very concerned about this issue and wish to have Expedia immediately correct it.

today is 08/21/2022, I talked to expedia about my flight credits in 2020 which I have been pursuing since the trip was cancelled Sept 25, 2020. I bought a package for 2 and ended up canceling due to unforeseen circumstances. I purchased this with my own money and after the credits were issued, my partner and I went our separate ways. since then, I have been trying to get expedia and United Airlines (UA) to change the credit to my name solely since i purchased them and we no longer have need for it.

UA directly and specifically said it can be done and were about to do so and realized it's a bulk purchase, hence expedia has to change my ex's credits back to my name since I got those tickect and were under my account.

i went back to expedia several times for them to tell me its impossibel. how is that impossible if the airline says it's possible?

in the end they just want to keep the money and not honor it even though UA has specifically said it can be done.

now I don't know why expedia is refusing to make that change and the agents straight up tells me "It's your loss" like they don't give a [censored] about my issue.

I have been dealing with this issue since 2020 and still on it. they clearly know that I cannot use it hence do not care.

I asked to speak with a manager and was denied that options too.

I booked 2 tickets on Expedia to fly with Lufthansa from LAX-FRA-HAM. I booked a higher priced ticket since my mother has medical issues and it says I can change the date if I pay the price difference if the airline has a different price for the dates selected.

The original price was $2,320.74 for two tickets.

I requested a date change via Expedia and found 4 flights with price differences of $83.90 per ticket and 20+ flights with $100 price difference and of course many others with $200-350 per ticket.

ANY flight I selected with the price difference of $83.90 or $100 per ticket gave me an error to contact Expedia.

The moment I contact Expedia, they were telling me ONLY flights with $300+ per ticket are available.

If I would book a flight with the exact same airline on exactly the same dates I asked to change my flight to, the price differentiates by $83.90-$100.

But Expedia wants $600-$800 for both tickets to be changed... even thought I bought a MORE EXPENSIVE ticket to avoid any UP-CHARGES. Now Expedia does exactly that!

Expedia's customer service is also more than capable since COVID and the ability to find a super-visor to help any further is impossible. The only solution Expedia offers a call back from a supervisor within 24-48 hours... and you never hear back.

I booked a rental car through expedia on August 8. The next day I tried to add a day but could not so I reached out to expedia through the online chat.

The agent said she could not add a day but I could cancel and rebook. I told her no because I would lose my great rate and I would keep the reservation as is.

The agent came back and said she apologized but she accidentally cancelled my reservation when trying to make a change and expedia charged me the $100 cancellation fee. She could do nothing about it. Nor could she add my reservation back. Which means I lost my great deal on the car too.

I chatted with another agent who said she put in a request to refund the full amount since it was their agent's fault. Two days later after no refund, I called and the agent in customer service said it would be refunded in two days. No refund. I left a message at expedia corporate office. No return call. I am now disputing with my credit card company. To make matters worse. I did lose my great rate and the car is now costing $200 more plus the $100 expedia kept for their mistake.

If this were in any way my fault I would admit it but it was 100% an inept agents fault and she did nothing to help correct it. Terrible company and I would suggest booking straight through the rental car company and not risking such horrible business practices. It may cost more but at least you have some recourse and customer service!

Booked a hotel on skopelos island Greece on 7/2/22. Arrived after a 4 hour ferry ride at 8:30pm only to find out that the reservation had been canceled by the hotel. Hotel manager showed me the 2 emails sent to Expedia canceling my room one dated 7/4/22 the other dates 7/11/22. Customer service was hard to get a hold of then the person was very hard to understand she wanted to argue that the hotel didn’t cancel the reservation even though the hotel showed me the emails. After 1 1/2 hours trying to find myself and my 2 teenagers a room she tells me she can’t find a room on the entire island apologizes and hangs up. So I was stuck on an island with no more ferry service and no place to stay. Luckily my travel agent in New York was able to find us a house to rent on Booking.com

Expedia has a hotel on it's site that is unsafe to stay at. The Econo Lodge in South Holland, IL.

Disgusting room conditions. First red flag was the front desk was behind bulletproof glass! Rooms at this location are crack house conditions! After walking into the room and walking around the room with my jaw on the floor I did not unload my items. Holes in the flooring, Desk chair to disgusting to use with purposeful burn holes in the upholstery. Sappy residue on the night stands. Burn holes in the comforter. The bathroom was like what you see in a horror film! NO WAY! Instead, I returned to the desk and said I couldn't stay in this room. I had to arrange for a different stay.

I complained to Expedia! I told them that they should not have this property on their site! They tried to get my money back. The messages to this place went unreturned for a week and then they refused to refund my pre-paid two night stay. Expedia then also refused to act any further on this matter.

DO NOT use Expedia for any travel service!

I booked international flights for 2 adults one way and paid by credit card as per Expedia directions when booking. I found the next morning 2x payments had been taken for $807.00 totalling $1,614.00. The same day another $1,614.00 payment for the same flights appeared on my credit card and bank account. I have tried contacting Expedia via their website and virtual chat line and all I get is it dose not recognise my flight booking, flight ID no, email or phone number. I have lodged a dispute with my bank as well. This is poor service from Expedia and frustrating when wanting a simple answer as to why I have been charged twice and request a refund.

I'm complaining about several issues I've had, in addition to the lack of communication between Expedia and their partners.

On July 28th, 2022 I had a reservation for an apt in Hollywood, Florida. When I arrived at the room, it smelled bad, the a/c was not working well, the guests next door were very noisy and were smoking weed, I didn’t feel safe because my door had signals of a previous break-in and I immediately contacted Expedia about the whole situation and asked them for a refund because I wouldn’t stay there.

I stayed for a few of hours because I had nowhere else to go. But in the middle of the night my boyfriend found us another place and then we left.

I had a lot of pain caused by a stiff neck. That was very stressful because the Expedia guy told me that I would get my refund (I have prints of that) and I woke up on Sunday morning, July 30th, 2022 with an e-mail saying that I wouldn't get a refund for something I didn’t use!

I don’t speak good English and a I think they take advantage of that, which is really sad. It was supposed to be a good time because it was my boyfriend's birthday weekend and we were very excited about this trip. Unfortunately we were stressed, sad, disappointed and tired of that situation.

I replied to the email directly to the hotel and told them that I had not been on their property and explained the whole situation again. They told me that at that point there was no way for them to refund me as I should have contacted them instead of contacting Expedia. But the guy from Expedia (Christopher is his name) didn't tell me anything about it. On the contrary, he told me that he was taking care of the situation and that I wouldn't have to do anything else.

How could I possibly know that I should contact the hotel directly if I made my reservation through Expedia?

And then I told them that was not asking for much, I just wanted my refund or even a credit to be used in another property, as I'm (or was) a regular and loyal customer of Expedia. After this point I got no response from either Expedia or hotel.

My name is Dominique Theresa Marino and I am a longstanding, loyal customer of Expedia. I am writing because after over two (2) years, I have not received refunds to which I am entitled for cancelled flights. Recognizing that I am not the only one who has had travel plans cancelled due to the pandemic, I have been more than patient. However, after over a dozen long phone calls with your customer service representatives (and thus repeating the chain of events each time), submitting a formal refund request once the process was available, filing a complaint through the Expedia website (which was ignored, even after a follow up email), virtual chat conversations to Expedia representative (which were the least helpful), and having the Expedia travel/escalation team review and fail to address the issue, the delay is unacceptable.

I purchased a flight in the amount of $648 dollars on February 6, 2020. The trip was from Rome  Newark under Itinerary No. [protected]. On the same date, another flight was purchased, for Anthony Giuliano under Itinerary No. [protected], also for $648, going from Rome  Newark. The flights were cancelled on April 22, 2020 and May 9, 2020, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, Tap Portugal cancelled the departing flights to Italy, thus requiring the cancellation of the returning flights.

Subsequently, I called Expedia on several occasions regarding receipt of a refund. A refund was finally received in the fall of 2021 for the flights from Newark  Naples. After being placed on hold for hours numerous times while Expedia representatives conferred with Tap Portugal, finally, I was informed by Expedia representative, Jane, that the refunds for the tickets going from Rome  EWR were processed. I received email confirmation of this to [protected]@yahoo.com, which I demanded before I hung up the phone – in light of my fear of not receiving the money to which I was entitled - on December 12, 2021.

Over eight (8) months later, I have seen zero (0) dollars refunded to my account for the cancelled flight from Rome --> Naples, and neither has Anthony Giuliano. My options, besides filing a lawsuit, at this point, are limited.

Itinerary #[protected]. On 8 July, as I was doing on-line check in, I discovered that the airline has no record of the last leg of my trip (home-bound) LIS-IAD scheduled for 9 July. I was required to purchase a one-way ticket back (Receipt attached) because the Expedia agent was not able to assist, told me to wait for 2 days for airline reply and that someone will contact me. If I did not have enough funds, I should contact my relatives for assistance (Really!). It has been almost one month, I have not heard from anyone nor provided with an explanation. I have been receiving the same automated message for the last month as per below:

booked a hotel through expedia from July 30 to August 8 2022. I arrived at the hotel a day late July 31st, only to arrive at the property and the yard is unkept, it lacked proper mesh for bug intrusions, the house was filthy and worst of all there was no running water and the owner had prior knowledge. I spoke with neighbours and there was no running water for over 2 days. I spoke to VRBO after speaking with the host she was only willing to refund 50 percent of my $1357 that I paid upfront if I left on July 31st. I was at the property 3 hours and I left. VBRO did nothing to try to remedy the situation even though I sent pictures to the agent. I asked to speak with s Manager or a Supervisor I was told they would call me within an hour and I have yet to receive a call back.

VBRO is assisting these scammers that list properties that are unsuitable and they are not willing to assist with any hardships that customers face. This is unacceptable. I would appreciate any help with trying to resolve this issue. I would like s full refund.

This meant that I had to book another property on air b n b. Otherwise I would have no where else to stay with my 2 young children

I recently chatted online with an Expedia customer service agent (please see web capture of chat below). I inquired if this canceled flight was refunded or a credit had been issued. I also stated that I wanted to use the credit, if one had been issued. The agent told me it had been "refunded" and that I would see my refund from Alaska Airlines to my credit card in up to 10 business days. After 10 business days and no refund, I contacted Alaska Airlines directly. They informed me they had issued a credit voucher. If I had been told this by Expedia's customer service agent, I would have used the credit voucher! Now I have paid basically twice for his trip to Portland!

I have tried calling, online chat, and two different email addresses for Expedia. No one ever comes on the line for my call, online chat turns off before an agent comes on, and the email addresses come back as not valid and direct me to Expedia's website, which gets me nowhere!

My husband called the number for the Quality Inn in Horseheads NY and somehow ended up with Expedia, which he didn't know he thought he was talking to the front desk. The man he spoke to barely spoke or understood English and added a day to our reservation. Upon receiving our confirmation we called to try and remove this early extra day from our reservation and they refused we tried for three weeks, upon arrival we found the hotel had given our room to someone else because we hadn't arrived that day early and still charged us for it. The moral of this story tell everyone you know make sure you aren't talking to a third party and never use Expedia for any of your travel or hotel reservations.

The tour operator/tour company owner, left us (4 people) in a castle for a lecture about the history of that castle. After the lecture, instead of picking us up from the place where he left us, he had instructed us to look for him in his parking spot across the town. Amid thousands of tourists i had lost a track of the people from the tour, and eventually lost my way while trying to find where the tour operator was.

Eventually, as i had approached the tour van, i met with a barrage of aggressive offensive coming from the tour operator and addressed towards me. He was yelling and screaming in a abusive and disrespectful way. His language was coarsely insulting, berating, degrading and demeaning. He continued on and on, even while driving, screaming, offending, insulting and disrespecting me.

I did not bargain and did not pay to be abused

Expedia has offered us a voucher for a travel cancellation due to COVID restrictions. The voucher will expire in Dec 31, 2022 but we can only travel in 2023. Our request is very simple: We need the voucher valid date to be extended to 2023 so we can book our new trip.

I made a reservation which I canceled because the facility wasn’t what I thought it was and the guest would not be able to make it, I canceled the day I made the reservation or the next day. I am being charged $473.60 for a room I didn’t want or Use possibly because your cancelation system didn’t process the cancellation. The consumer is stuck holding the ball.

I paid for flight insurance and then got covid the day of my trip so couldn't go. I tried booking another flight using the flight credit and it only showed me flights that I had to pay an extra $350 for! What a scam. When I tried to book not using credits there are plenty of cheaper flights to be found. I will never use Expedia or American Airlines again. Losing customers by cheating them is not the best business model.
