On august 31, 2020, I went to my local eyemart to see about getting a new pair of glasses. Their commercial says they carry "designer" frames. There were a total of about 20-30 of these. Very disappointing. I did find a cheap pair. My insurance allowance was $150 for frames (I pay for good vision insurance). They would only allow me to get the one $69 pair. I was not allowed to get two pairs, as my insurance allows. I wanted anti-glare and also glass lenses. I paid $123 for them and was "promised" the frames by today, september 14, 2020. I called today and they are now saying it 'may' take another full week or two?! Because *i* wanted glass lenses?! When I asked what the manager of the store does for patients who's glasses don't come in by the promise date, I was met with "umm... Well... Hang on". I was put on a long hold twice, and finally told, "umm... Yeah... Well... Its because you want *glass*". Are you kidding?! I never would have spent my money there had I known i'd have to wait longer than 10 business days (which is exorbitantly long), I was told it could possibly be 10 more?! These people are not up front, and they have very few designer frames in the stores. My family and I will not be back. Smh
My wife and I just visited the EyeMart Express located in South Charleston West Virginia 01/25/2021 for the second time and notice if you are brown you will be treated with respect, we have shopped at Bridgeport West Virginia EyeMart Express and was treated with respect a dignity. You hard for your money and should spend it with those that respect you. We won't be shopping at this location again and sharing our experience with our tweeter and Facebook friends.
I work in the optical industry and it is not uncommon for glass lenses to take more than 10 days.
Glass is just not commonly used as a spectacle material anymore. In fact it is very rare.
They need to sent out to separate company to be processed. That right there causes a long turn around time. Also add on a Non-glare coat and that will tack on even more time. So no, 10 days is not
exorbitantly long at all.
As for not letting you get a $69 frame when you have a $150 allowance doesn’t make any sense.
Went to eye mart express in Owasso, Okla this morning, And after my Insurance my cost was going to be almost 350, 00 dollars for one pair! I couldn't walk out of there fast enough!
VERY BAD SERVICE even from the corporation they all fired me as a customer since I have been a long-time customer of eyemart since 2012 They did me and my family a favor now! so if the CORP SEES THIS, I QUIT EYEMART! I will be going to a much better reputable vision center where they education you on how to understand your glasses and how they should fit your FACE as well how they should sit on your face and understanding measurements. IT is a shame eyemart never explained these things to me to help me or any other customer in the matter I always was told to go pick out a pair glasses we will check your eyes and send them to lab and out the door we went with glasses that never fit right or the prescription was off right after coming out of the doctor's office. We had to return many times to the doctors because eyemart kept sending us back to them I has to pay twice sometimes 3 times at the doctors just to get the prescription right Thanks you for letting me and my family leave your store I guarantee My family will NEVER RETURN! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST.
