Fabric NonExistent Customer Service

Totally uncaring lethargic customer service employees made a very bad experience even worse. For some unknown reason, the company chose UPS to deliver my large order to my PO Box although UPS doesn't deliver to PO Boxes. Although I absolutely did not authorize the order to be delivered anywhere but the PO Box, UPS delivered it to a street address in another city! This unauthorized diversion has caused major problems for me, and no one wants to take responsibility. The customer service rep at Fabric.com's main response to ALL of my questions was "I don't know." She acted bored to death with my phone call, and offered no assistance at all. She had no idea why the parcel was shipped via a carrier who doesn't deliver to PO Boxes, why or how it was re-routed to a street address, or how UPS acquired a confidential street address that I provided for billing purposes only.. She offered no apologies or in anyway attempted any solutions. I will never shop here again, and would not recommend it to anyone else. I have a +$200 order sitting in another city, and no one can tell me why.

On April 25, 2016 I ordered 75 yards of fabric. They sent me only 30. It's May 26 th and I'm still waiting for a refund. This company has a F rating from the BBB. This is why.

They don't ship like they say they will - then when I inquire, they lie that it is going out that day. It doesn't. I am still trying to get my 100.00+ order from them. Wish I had read reviews before ordering...

The whole customer service experience was just miserable. And they need to take off their claim of shipping within 48 hours. They do NOT ship within 48 hours. I should have read the other fabric.com reviews before ordering. It is not worth it. I would rather pay the extra money for better service elsewhere.

Fabric Stay away from this website

I wish I had read these reviews before placing my orders.

I must say that I really like the selection of fabrics presented on the website. They have many organic cottons, and at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, costumer service really sucks.

So far I've placed 4 orders. every time they arrive very late, and I don't receive any confirmation or receipt online.
the first time I ordered swatches and fabrics, and after waiting a long time, I've received half of the fabrics ordered. If they had told me that some of the fabrics were out of stock, I would have replaced them with other colors.

Anyway, I wanted to believe in them, and I placed other orders after that.

I've received 2 other orders (arrived late) and the fabrics were there, but so wrinkled that I couldn't even smooth them completely with my iron.

Finally, I placed an order for faux leather in December. Again, I've never received by email and confirmation, and I found the box on my porch after coming back from vacation. I ordered 2 fabrics, a glue gun and glue sticks for the gun. When I've opened it, I've discovered that the beautiful floral chocolate faux leather that I've ordered was not there, replaced by a hideous cheap blue fleece never ordered. and the glue sticks, by Martha Stuart, were replaced by a mat pad, unsealed, basically by another random Martha Stuart's item. the receipt lists all the items I ordered, but not the ones inside the box. I've just written them and I will be waiting for a reply, but that was my last order. such a shame for a website with apparently a very good selection of fabrics.

Fabric I will never order from them again

I have placed 5 orders with fabric.com in the past six weeks, and only received one. The other four have been placed to try to replace fabric that they don't have in stock. Customer service has been no help at all, only offering to refund the purchase (which they charged before they even found out if they had the fabric I ordered in stock), a refund which will only be issued in 7-10 days. I will never order from them again.

Fabric I don't think I'll order again from them

I ordered several pieces of fabric in 1/2 and 1 yard lengths. There were several (20-40 ) yards of each fabric in stock when I ordered and while I saw there would be shipping delays I didn't think it would be too bad. A few days later I got a notice that one of the fabrics was out of stock, and the next day got one that told me nearly all the rest were out as well. I emailed them to ask for a cancellation, and after emailing twice and waiting a couple weeks someone finally got back to me and said they would refund me $26. My order was $30. Now $4 isn't a big deal, but I don't want to waste money when I'm not getting anything! I have yet to hear back from them and get my money back. I have ordered a couple times with no problem, but this cam as a surprise. I don't think I'll order again...

Fabric I will never recommend them again, and will tell my friends to beware

I have always liked fabric.com...until the past several months. They moved into a new warehouse a couple months ago, and I guess with the move, they got to be a horrendous mess. Fabric.com offers great sales and free shipping over $35, but I will probably never order from them again. I have been greatly disappointed with the last two orders and their customer service. They had orders backed up and weren't shipping items according to their "will ship in 48 hours." Okay, I can deal with that. A couple weeks after I ordered, I found out that one of the fabrics was no longer in stock. I emailed them, but received absolutely no response.

Ok, so that one time I will forgive them. I ordered a second time, once again buying enough to get free shipping (which is basically why I order from them in the first place) in order to replace the fabric they misplaced. This time, TWO fabrics were taken off my order. I called customer service and the lady refused to do anything for me. It is their policy that they can take whatever they want off your order and not be held accountable. Which is fine, so I ask for them to at least foot the shipping to replace the fabrics. Received a big fat no. I asked for the supervisor (the lady accidentally hangs up on me, but to her credit, she calls me back). She sends me to the supervisor's voicemail after promising that the supervisor will contact me before the end of the day. Never received a call.

I used to stand up for this company, but no longer. I will never recommend them again, and will tell my friends to beware.

Fabric There are far better companies

Fabric.com has terrible customer service! Twice they have waited a week to tell me they are canceling my order because of the fabric being out of stock. Never received an email asking whether I wanted a substitute (the fabric being cancelled was basic, solid flannel--easy to replace!). Fabric.com had the gall to charge my PayPal account 1.50 to cover their fees EVEN THOUGH THEY were the ones canceling my entire $175 order. Shameful!

This is the best--after I waited 40 minutes in que for the live online help and wouldn't you know, they turned off the live chat TWO PEOPLE before me. They don't give a darn--so not worth the agony! Horrible service.

There are far better companies...don't waste your money or time with fabric.com.

Fabric I won't buy from them again

I used to order quite often from Fabric.com and they always had low prices, and excellent customer service. The last 2 orders I had were a terrible experience. The wrong fabric was sent, the order was delayed with no communication, and it took over a week for customer service to respond each time. The last time I didn't have to return the fabric received in error, this time I did, but they didn't give me a return label, or even a shipping address. They also have already charged me for the replacement. I used to love this store, but they have increased their prices too high, and their customer service has become horrible. I won't buy from them again."

Fabric E mails to customer service are not returned

I ordered 27 yards of fabric. It was on sale for 25% off. After the confirmation and the shipping notice, Whoops! . "We are moving our warehouse and your selection is out of stock." there were 110 yards in inventory on the day I received this on both Fabric.com and Amazon.com.

E mails to customer service are not returned. I suppose if I am willing to pay full price, they will deign to sell this fabric to me.

I order from this site quite a bit because of a great selection, decent prices, and free shipping on orders over $35. However their order accuracy and customer service leaves me unimpressed.

I received an order this week. I had ordered 5 yards of a certain home decor drapery fabric. When I unrolled the fabric it was in 4 separate pieces. WHAT? Smallest was 24" and they went up to about 42". How the heck am I supposed to work with this?

Customer service is very hard to get on the phone. They want you to leave a message and they will call you back. I would rather be placed on hold or in a queue so I know at some point I might actually talk to a person.

Unfortunate since this was such a great fabric supplier before they were bought out by Amazon.

Reviewing them yet again. I am on the mailing list, and get emails for specials promotions, sales, etc.

Got an email on 1/10/12 around 8am about a "blowout" sale. Found some fabrics I liked that had good inventory, and place my order by 830am. My Pay Pal payment was processed. They brag about shipping within 48 hours, etc. Today my order goes from "pending" satuts to "on hold" status. So I live chat with customer service. They claim they emailed me this morning because an item is out of stock.
I never received the email. Her excuse for sold out status was they get orders faster than they can update the site, yet the site inventory is automatically updated when you place an order.

I have been screwed by these people before on their "sales" and "deals". I make an effort to only buy stuff that has high inventory to avoid this BS. The CS rep that I chatted with was not helpful at all, and basically ended the chat before it was properly finished and my concerns were addressed. I was not hostile or threatening, just stated the facts.

They are way too big for their internet britches, and really need to work on inventory control and customer service.

Fabric At this point there's no estimate when my merchandise will be shipped

Fabric.com is the worst online retailer I've encountered so far. I purchased a small piece of fabric on 7/31/2012 and till this day it was not shipped. They simply created a UPS label on 8/7/12 to fool me into believing that it's shipped but UPS doesn't actually possess the package.

Their customer service made the excuse that they are currently moving and therefore all shipments are delayed. They offered no solution to rectify the problem, only asking me to "understand" that they are moving and I may have to wait indefinitely until they are done.

At this point there's no estimate when my merchandise will be shipped.

Fabric Customer service is horrible, would not recommend

Glad to see I'm not the only one with issues... I returned a sewing foot and was told my customer service that they credited my account on April 5th but there was no credit on my credit card statement. I've called twice for them to research and get back to me with no response. I've finally had to initiate a chargeback with my credit card. Customer service is horrible, would not recommend.

I ordered some corduroy from Fabric.com for our manufacturing plant to cover tables with. Fabric.com confirmed the order, only to come back to tell me the item was out of stock. No big deal.

We were just using the material to cover tables, so were VERY flexible about what color or type of corduroy. However, after being on hold for half an hour when I tried calling to find a replacement fabric, I took their phone message's suggestion and tried the online live chat support.

It was over an hour before someone got with me, only to tell me that my order had been cancelled, and there was no way for them to check what they DID have in stock that could replace the out of stock item.

There are so many other more competent businesses to work with, it's just not worth the time and frustration to deal with a company that can't even tell you what's available to buy.
