Mixed Experiences with Ginny's
As someone who has explored Ginny's, I must say that the experiences shared by customers are quite diverse. While some have expressed satisfaction with specific products and customer service interactions, others have faced challenges with canceled orders, refund issues, and perceived overpricing. It seems like Ginny's has room for improvement in ensuring consistent service quality and transparent pricing practices. If you decide to shop at Ginny's, it may be wise to carefully review product details and policies to make informed decisions.

My purchase
I recently purchase a toaster and a sewing kit from Ginny's, and love both items. Every time I order something from this company; I expect the best and am never
Disappointed.
I love Ginny and will continue to purchase from them items I need for my house.
Fast shipping, VERY nice people, Great quality goods
I guess I lucked out. Everyone that I spoke with were EXTREMELY nice. The shipping was VERY fast and the item was beautiful. Sorry that so many had a bad experience. I wanted to come by and share mine. I just wish that they reported to the credit bureaus.
Garden box
Yes... A lady called me to confirm my order. She was really nice and professional. Then I got a call from a Latasha this morning letting me know my order was shipped and arrival date and with who. Very nice customer service and very friendly. I will use Ginny again.
Very Pleased
I finally broke down and called them about my account being frozen. The CSR that I spoke to explained that they had frozen my account to protect my identity. They watch for several small orders instead of one big order. She agreed that if I canceled all the small ones and then placed one big in in a couple of days that the order would go through as I had the credit. So we canceled all my orders and I will reorder later and still have my orders by Christmas.
I love this site and have made many purchases (also
I love this site and have made many purchases (also at the sister companys, country door, midnight velvet, etc), the quality is fantastic, some things are a little pricey, but i love the selection on the kitchen products. Also alot of the different products are offered across the different sister companys. Like ginnys will have quilts from country door and country door carries pots and pans that ginnys has. Can get everything to coordinate in your rooms at one place. The customer service is always nice and helpful and besides the email confirmations, if for whatever reason something is delayed, they have always called me to let me know and in some cases offered substitutes or discounts to keep the order instead of cancelling it because of the delay.

Erroneous billing
Avoid this company!
Based on a recent correspondence dated 08/23/19 from your organization regarding a recent request to charge my card implied that the authorization center was unable to approve charge. It occurred to contact my bank for details and to check my bank account online and upon retrieving my transactions online and speaking with a representative from my bank I saw and was advised by the representative from MCU that my bank indeed had approved the transaction in question of $125.00 please note transaction was approved on 08/22/19. I immediately contacted Ginny's and made query into the matter. I was advised that the payment did not go through. I further provided details from my bank stating that funds were indeed approved. I was placed on hold and then i was told by a representative that on the first attempt the transaction was not approved but they make a second attempt and the payment was approved.
I also would like to bring to your attention the possibility of the countless times this has occurred regarding my account payment and brings into question the validity of my account being placed in Collections. Please observe the date of the notice was 08/23/19 and the date I was charged was 08/22/19.
I was just recently able to go over some of the mails I have received form Ginny's and they are of the same nature that the authorization center was unable to authorize payment. Now I can provide a state from my bank showing the balance of my bank account for which the card you have on record is linked to and show you that funds were indeed available on that date and time of the authorization center attempt to charge my card.
Again, I am questioning the validity of my account being placed in collections given the fact that arrangements were set up by yours truly however, due to unforeseen circumstances such as the one mentioned in paragraph occurred which was beyond my control. In this case as mentioned the payment was authorized on the second attempt, now it is usually only attempted once or is it usually twice and this attempt does not necessary means that the customer has insufficient funds this seems as a general issue Ginny's has had as it relates to charging my card. This also puts my reputation and ability to pay into question.
It also shows the gross disrespect Ginny's has for me as a customer as a letter should have been sent advising me to disregard the letter dated 08/23/2019 as payment was processed on the second attempt and apologizing for any inconvenience caused. The representative herself was unapologetic about the situation did not seem to care much either.
Now the balance on my Ginny's account according to the representative I spoke with was $225.70 after advising me of the payment successfully made. I will be issuing two payments to close my account as outlined below:
Based on the issue mentioned above I believe it is with fairness to me as a customer for this account to not be listed on my credit report. There obviously seems to be a technical problem with processing payments has obviously happened and I was very much paying attention and was able to call our Ginny's on this matter.
Not to mention the poor quality towels that they are selling people at such a high prices! Rip off! Avoid totally use a rag and dry off its needs be don't purchase anything here... towels are cheaper at Marshalls, Home Goods, etc and much better quality.
If I could could rate a zero I would for both customer service department and theft/loss prevention
Several weeks ago I received an item; which I ordered after receiving a pre approved Ginny's catalog. I was pretty excited but shocked because I don't have an account. Or didn't think I was approved because I was never notified. My right drawer wicker and "particle board" cabinet looked great in the photo and cost close to 300$... surprisingly given the quality (insert sarcasm) It arrived, destroyed, split in half and box retaped I am guessing during shipping. I called immediately to see first, why I had this item when I was never even told that my account iwas opened or approved. I then requested that it be returned and the very pleasant woman said my new replacement would be shipped immediately that was almost two weeks ago and my only experience with anything close to acceptable customer service. Since I've received not one phone call to pick it up, Despite attempting, on multiple occasions, to return it. I noticed last Friday that the charge was removed from my account and my accounts credit had been recscinded. So I called to find out about the return and why my credit had been taken away, a. Call I now wish I had never made... I was told that there was suddenly, mysteriously, now a fraud alert from one of the credit bureaus for me, (not with Ginny's but with the credit reporting company) this was stressed multiple times by the representative... so to prove I am myself, I basically resighted my credit report and answered every question they needed to verify I am who I say i am and the person who made he order in my name! Despite this I was treated much like a criminal and when asked when my replacement item would come I was lied to by the rep (ironically her name was Jenny) and told they couldn't send it til the initial item was returned to them (a complete contradiction from what I was told when I called the first day this customer service nightmare began). Needless to say two weeks later, about seven phone calls and hours of my time I still have a broken huge cabinet still sitting in my foyer. Ive tried multiple times to get an answer as to whether I have an account open or not and why it says I have a 400$ account but no available credit? Today I looked at the account again online, because despite my hesitation, I had already placed a second order (prior to being told about the "fraud report" on my credit report)... which was of course the reason the confusion (and that I used two different addresses for billing and shipping) I had just moved and not change the addresses in my credit cards.: so back to this "fraud alert" which come to find oi doesn't exist on any of my credit reports (i checked all tbree reporting bureaus out of concern). Unfortunately I had already placed a second order, th customer service Rep told me I was ok to go ahead and order and to use my existing account, mind you, i still have not received word one on the status of my account and still have not heard back from anyone regarding the pick up of the broken cabinet taking up a bunch of space in my new condo! Unbelievably I have another error alert on my online account the online and my new order status says "shipping in progress", "request items be returned" and "write a review" with a link... So here it is... I will stick with fingerhut, ProgressiveLeasing, and emporium and throw any future communications from any of this company and its affiliates in the trash.(Montgomery ward, seventeenth avenue, and a couple others to name a few) they will not get a penny from me. I have taken pictures of my zero balance and all the evidence of my items up to date and really hope that they learn how to treat potential or I guess actual customers with the respect and service they should expect when spending their hard earned money! Ironically now my account alert says I don't actually have one but to click on display for "order details" (from the account I don't have) and then the link basically says nothing (kind of ironic and much like their customer service... useless) the only link that works is the one that says "write a review" so here It is. I have been rudely addressed, accused of falsely representing who I am, because I moved and used the correct billing address, then lied to by their representatives, wastes countless hours and precious time trying to be an honest customer and return a product I didn't know I was even approved to buy! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND USE FINGERHUT INSTEAD Or anywhere else it can't be much worse... save yourself the aggravation and stress of being told their is a fraud alert on your credit report, when there is none and despite asking and spending more time on the phone trying to figure this all out... never being given any useful information or solutions to any questions o had regarding any of these ridiculous issues. I personally will continue to use fingerhut and my other online sites when I want to shop, it is their loss because I am a faithful and good customer. I suggest they ask for verification of someone's identity if they are going to accuse them, falsely, of fraudulently claiming they are someone, because I could have provided copies of my address (state issuesd license even) with both my old and current addresses... who in their right mind (if they are a criminal) would call to let a company know they think they received an item in error! NO ONE... clearly this company needs to train their customer service agents and if they question someone's identity they shouldn't be shipping their products to said person in the first place. Now that they have taken back my account (I guess... true to form I was never notified of ever having one). So I guess when my shipment does arrive i will be unable to return it without an account? Good job Ginny's you've already lost close to a grand from this customer just because you have horrible customer service and a system that doesn't work!
Shipping and logistic issue
My fiancé ordered an item from Ginny's, an icemaker, while it was pending, we tried to cancel through several reps and were told they couldn't cancel the order.
This is a mistake on the company's part as a customer should be able to cancel an order before it physically ships.
I am being told that after the order is placed you can't cancel because a label is printed, and they lock the reps out of cancelling an order.
I am being informed that due to the number of businesses in association with this company, the organization needs to change their shipping and logistics way of shipping as an item that should be cancelled can't be and the customer is billed for the initial shipping of the merchandise.
This shipping fee should be rescinded and refunded if a customer cancels the order that has to be returned if they already locked out cancellation and the item ships because of company policy.
Claimed loss: Not applicable
Desired outcome: The company should change their shipping procedure in order to accommodate handicapped customers and also regular customers and allow for cancellation before physical shipping occurs.

Over the sink shelf
I purchased an over the sink shelf from Jenny's in September. In the catalog they give dimensions of an item according to their specifications the shelf should have fit perfectly. However when I opened it up and start putting it together I realized it's their dimensions were wrong. I called the company and asked them if they would send me it return sticker to send it back so they emailed it. I've made now a total of seven phone calls and emails trying to get my money back it took them weeks as they say to process it which is ridiculous. This last time when I was on the phone she didn't told me that nobody released the funds or whatever nothing makes sense. Oh and then the last person told me I never paid for shipping so I got charged for that too I just want my refund that's all I want

I am complaining about the item I received today.
I received a side cabinet today, 3/12, 2023, The holes for the pegs are either too big or too small. Also some holes weren't even drilled. I've put this type of furniture together. Shame I have to pay for this! I will never order furniture from Ginny's again.

Identity theft scammers
On [protected] I was notified by Experian that Ginny's Inc had conducted an hard credit inquiry on my credit history. I contacted Experian and stated that I did not authorize this inquiry and told by Experian that I did not have a credit account with Ginny's. I requested that Experian remove this inquiry from my credit report as it was fraudulent.
On 11-11-2022, I received a letter from Ginny's stating that I had a past due amount of $60 on an account balance of $513.75. This letter stated that unless I paid the past due amount, I would be unable to obtain a car loan or a home loan, I would be refused employment and would be unable to rent housing. There was no indication of what item(s) I had ordered/purchased. It just indicated that I owed $513.75.
I called Ginny's on 11-12-2022 regarding this letter and they stated that 'someone' (they declined to say whom) had ordered a Naxa flat screen TV on this purported account. No goods were ever received at my home. I disputed the account and was told my credit rating would suffer if payment was not up to date
On 11-15-2022, I was notified by Experian and Credit Karma that my credit score had dropped from 792 to 638 due to my Ginny's account.
This morning, I filed a identity theft report with the State of Connecticut Attorney General's Office and with Identitytheft.gov against Ginny's Inc.
I encourage all to do the same, so we as honest consumers can avoid getting scammed by predator companies like Ginny's
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from these Identity Theft scammers
Who in your family knows your social and date of birth? I'm not saying that I don't agree with you, but you usually don't have to look under rocks to find the culprit. But it could have been taken from some hackers that have nothing to do with you (other than taking your identity) and that's also a possibility. Please let us know how the filing goes with Connecticut for your identity theft report. One thing that I would say to everyone buying on Stoneberry, Ginnys, Montgomery Ward, and the rest is read the fine print. They have a load of fine print that they spew out when you are ready to see if you are approved for the big couch or something else. You are binded into a contract! You shook hands with Mr. Scrooge. He's got your money and he's walking away gleefully.
My order that I’ve never received

I have a bill that is not mine
Someone used a new account in my name and I have spoken to one of your representatives and they were supposed to send me fraud papers and I have never seen them. It is impacting my credit. It is on Account # [protected]. Do you have an online form that can be filled out? I really love doing business with you but this one isn't mine. I did not receive any product from you. Please clear this off my name and this bogus account.
Desired outcome: I just want this to be right so I can order like I have in the past and keep a good standing customer relation with your company.
Ginny's did a "hard inquiry" on my credit without my permission
On Friday August 6th a business named "Ginny's" did a "hard inquiry" on my credit without my permission!
On Sunday August 7th, I received and email with the header, "Welcome to the Ginny's family" although I have absolutely NEVER applied for anything with that company.
I could not contact anyone since it was the weekend but I did immediately file a dispute and reported this to all 3 major credit reporting bureaus. From my understanding, it is illegal for a company to pull an individual's credit without permission.
Desired outcome: Explanation of why my credit was pulled without my permission. Produce an email or document showing exactly when and, "who" made the request to apply for credit with them? What I do know is that I DID NOT!!
Fraud Alert Activated by Ginny's
Beware of this company, I received a fraud alert after they made a hard credit inquiry against me in December 2021. I never heard of this company or ever ordered anything from them. Next thing I know they sent a package addressed to me that arrived at a house I sold months before and do not live there. Then a bill arrives for multiple purchases I never made. Contacting Ginny's has been a nightmare... they requested all my personal and financial information in writing. Said they couldn't help until they had it, Hmmmm. I chose not to provide them with anything and contacted all credit reporting bureaus directly. All three recommended not dealing with Ginny's and said not to give out any personal information to them. I placed a complaint and fraud alert with the credit bureaus and was able to get the hard credit inquiry removed. If Ginny's tries anything else the credit bureaus will take care of it. I recommend not dealing with this shady company. To date they are still billing me for purchases I never made and sending advertising along with the bills. No further purchases show on the statements they send, but the account appears to still be open. I have made attempts to let Ginny's know I am not a customer and never will be. Watch out for this company, they appear to be a scam and are not helpful at all.
Desired outcome: Remove all trace of my personal information from your data base. Provide a statement showing I owe you nothing. After that, never contact me again.
I wonder if there is a way to block certain companies off the bat from getting a credit check on you. I can think of a dozen companies that I do not want them to run a credit check on me ever, even if I am dying on the road with an animal eating my entrails. Sorry to be so graphic.
You can block them through the credit bureaus by putting a freeze on credit. That way the bureaus contact you to see if you signed up for new credit. Or get LifeLock to protect your identity.
Someone opened an account with my information. Found out by checking my credit report. I have never opened an account with Ginnys. My credit report numbers have dropped because it says I have 2 late payments due to Ginnys. Called customer service and they said they would send paperwork in the mail? Why don't they have a website for this type of complaint.
Have filed a complaint with the FTC and the Attorney General against this company for letting someone open a bogus account with my information. This has also been reported to all 3 major credit score companies.

Customer service
I received a fraud alert through a credit monitoring service I have to help protect me against identity theft. Happened around Dec 20th 2021. I called immediately and was instructed to put a freeze with all three credit reporting agencies. Was told a company called Ginny's had done a hard credit inquiry without my knowledge or permission. Thought that would...

Your catalogue stated I was prequalified for $400.00 credit. I have sent several follow-up emails with no response from your company.
The 3 items ordered are for Christmas. I am also writing a snail mail letter to you to complete this transaction as a last resort. Did ANYTHING get through to you? I want the merchandise, so some acknowledgement that you received the information AND either are accepting or rejecting the order would be appreciated!
Desired outcome: Order will be allowed.
2 Tier scroll sink shelf
I called customer service to speak to someone about exchanging the item because it doesn't fit over my sink. I was transferred to the supervisor who was very rude and nasty with me. She tells me that I have to pay to have it returned before I can exchange it for something else. I shouldn't have to pay for returns from what the policy said. I didn't get her name because she hung up the phone. I will not be ordering from Ginny's again and I will let my friends and family know not to order from them as well, the staff is very rude. I will spend my money somewhere else.
Desired outcome: I just needed a return label so I can return the item
Credit Report/ Billing
First, I was enrolled in autopay for $35 on Dec. 2, 2020 I called to make a one time payment of $202.00 just to lower my balance. I was assured that my auto pay would stay the same. Next, I noticed on my credit report my bill was 30 days late. Next I called Ginny's and the woman informed me that the emp. who accepted my account on Dec. 2.2020 may have entered my account wrong because my checking account was not found and the $202.00 was not paid. Which is strange because I used the same account to pay the 202.00 as I did for the autopay. Next Linda from the credit dept. informed me that she would listen to the phone call and see if I or the emp. gave the wrong acc. #. Linda never did. When I call again to follow up an emp. told me that she would make a note to remove my 30 day late payment and place me back on auto pay. That was 2 weeks ago and neither has happened. Actually Ginny's has now made another error and put my available balance to $0. I'm requesting that my Feb 2021 late payment be removed due to employee error, I'm placed back onto auto pay, and that my available balance is restored. Please call or email me your response my contact information is listed below.

Credit Department
I paid off an account with this company and was told I would be sent confirmation via email, it has been week with nothing. When I called back, I was told credit department was closed, but yet I get emails from them saying to call to resolve the issue. I call back and they again say closed, so I'm confused your closed but can answer emails. I just want the letter stating account paid in full from your company as promised. Your credit department is far from par, and does not do as they say. I need it resolved ASAP
Desired outcome: Letter received
Customer service complaint
I have never missed a payment or have never been late. They raised my credit available. When I tried to use some of the credit available I was turned down or told I needed a down payment. I had way over the credit available for the order. In fact after the order I still would have had $488.00 credit available. Thinking about not paying anymore payments the way they are doing me.
