We ordered this piece of furniture in May of 2020. It was bought at Hom Furniture in Sioux City, IA. Due to Covid, we were told there would be a delay receiving our swivel-rocker. Finally, after 9 months, it arrived. We brought it home, anxious to start using it. Almost immediately, we noticed a light crunching where your back would rest. We blew it off as new material needing to be "broken in". But after several months of use, it began to make a loud, annoying creaking noise when rocking. I thought it might be something easy to figure out, so I decided I'd take a look at it myself. Well, by the time I determined it wasn't something easy to fix, we found out that the one-year warranty had expired. We called Hom Furniture and they said we had to pay for someone to come out and fix it. After paying $800 for this over-priced chair and waiting 9 months for delivery, I didn't want to pay more to fix something that shouldn't have needed fixing. Flexsteel is a prominent furniture manufacturer that I thought made quality furniture and should stand behind their products. I thought they had a lifetime limited warranty, but I guess not. We were very disappointed and will likely purchase a different manufacturer next time we need furniture. We only went with Flexsteel because we had previously purchased an electric leather recliner that has lasted for many years without a problem.
Desired outcome: We'd like a representative to come and tell us why it's making noise when it rocks and determine if the necessary repair is covered under the lifetime limited warranty.
