In a desperate attempt to collect her travel agency commissions, marjorie lopez of flightcentre. ca located in vancouver at 620 robson street, made false and misleading statements to gain the customers confidence and book their travel plans.
Customer complaints were ignored and the customer was advised that he signed the terms. customer advised incompetant staff that the travel agent marjorie lopez specifically advised that the customer would receive an ocean view room, and provided false, misleading and inaccurate information to the client.
Comments:
The customer paid $700 more than the regular priced hotel room and was promised an ocean front deluxe room. upon their arrival in mexico, they received a room facing the biggest forest once could imagine said the customer. after making numerous trips to the front desk and getting the run around they were finally given a standard room facing the ocean, but what they could see was barely the ocean, and were forced to stay in the room, hoping that they would receive some compensation from the travel agent.
In a desperate attempt to collect her commission the agent blames the hotel, and then the company signature vacations advising that they were responsible for the error and later stated it would be resolved.
After several months, the customer received no response, and has now decided to go public to advise would be travellers that they should beware of the promises made by flight center canada and their employees.
Therefore, we highly recommend that you do not book your travel with flight centre, and there are many repoutable travel companies who will give you what you paid for and not ripp you off.
This is the latest warnign from a customer who was recently ripped off by this online company.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Anyone who waits months to hear back from an agent re: $700 is a ###.
It's funny because I just came back from Mexico and I experienced the same thing. We had 6 people going on this trip and was promised ocean view for $300 more (for 3 rooms). However, we got a jungle/forest view. When I called in to complain after my trip, they said they had to talk to west jet vacations about this issue and I waited over a month now with no response. Another thing was that the guy that booked us promised us nice beach with blue clear water. Instead, we got dirty water that looks almost brown with fake sands. Don't book with flight center, what a ripoff!
Seriously exclusively utilize these adult males to find a less costly flight yet do every one the leg work yourself. Do not dependon them for anything else. I dealt with the manager..yes the manager, who was meant to complete a simple follow up providing quotes for hotel and tour its been 4 days, 3 of which I spent waiting for the email, today 3 emails later on as she includes forgot to attach the document - yep, pretty tricky stuff checking that the right and proper documents are attached to the email you are about to send, not once not twice nevertheless three times! Futile I wont even bother implementing them to rate combat to any added extent. Flight middle find you s*** together and start appointing not people dragged off the boulevard who own spent a "summer in Europe" nonetheless who is knowledgeable in administration and buyer service. I'd rather use www.theholidayhotels.com--they're quite good.
Booked a cruise two months ago and have been paying for it in instalments... flight centre lady strongly urged me to purchase insurance for my daughter and i in case anything went awry. Shelled out the $320 for the insurance +2300 for the cruise. 89 days away and I have to cancel due to my daughter needing surgery and having no vacation time outside of caring for her afterwards. Went to flight centre and they told me that the entire thing is non-refundable. I pulled up Carnival cancellation policy on my phone stating that there are no penalties if you cancel at least 75 days in advance and demanded they call Carnival directly. They called, and Carnival sided with me. After getting off the phone with Carnival the travel agent informed me that the entire $320 for insurance is non-refundable and I will have to pay another $200/per person on top of that for canceling insurance. After getting upset with him about how this was never once explained to me he pulls up my contract and shows me that I signed it. So now I am out $720 with nothing to show for it because they glazed over the paperwork without explaining the ins and outs of it and i'm feeling quite swindled. My sister worked for flight centre for a couple months and was told point blank by her supervisor that the more she can upsell flights at higher prices the more successful she will be in the company. The flights they show you on the screen have already been marked up by them and they only flip it towards you afterwards. A rep from Air Canada had actually come into their work while they were doing a seminar and said that flight centre has no authority to jack up the prices of their flights and threatened a law suit. After the rep left the head of flight centre addressed the room by saying 'they always say that. Don't listen to them.'
Flight Centre will ALWAYS try to gouge you and mark up your flights and vacations so they can pocket the difference. I will never be dealing with these scam artists again and I would suggest you do the same.
They charged me $173/night in a hotel in Roatan Honduras and in the actual hotel the maximum suit amount they charged it's $80/night for the best room and for the room that flight centre reserved me the paid the hotel $35/night, not food nothing included for the $173 that I paid/night. Please some one have to do something about this people. Don't used flight centre
