unprofessional behavior/untrained cashier
have had repeated unpleasant experiences at your stores at the hands of your cashiers and today I had a particularly upsetting experience with a cashier named Lola Rose.
This wasn't our first run in. Lola Rose has been bitter, hateful, and lazy every time I've been forced to go down her checkout lane. It seems no one ever taught her how to take coupons or if they taught her she was too stupid to internalize the lesson. I've had repeated times where she outright accuses me of not getting the product I've had a coupon for and literally comes over to my buggy and starts taking my groceries out of the bags trying to prove me wrong. I've more often than not told her to forget it because with someone that hateful and vile you can't win but today was a day that was unlike any other.
When I entered the store I got a coupon out of your kiosk for a dollar off of 5 dannon greek yogurts. I bought 5 DANNON GREEK YOGURTS.

Well, I hand her the coupon. YOUR COUPON and she starts the old hat trick and pulls the yogurts out and tells me that she can't honor the coupon BECAUSE TWO OF THEM AREN"T YOGURTS THEY"RE MOUSSE.
She's must be an idiot or so stupid she isn't able to comprehend a commerical because these yogurts are MOUSSE. It's a mousse flavor. Says so on the package. I argued with her for ten minutes in which she raised her voice to me and looked at me with her glassy hateful dead eyes.
I am mentally ill and she upset me so bad I paid her the money and left my mother in the store with what she was buying. When my mother came out to the car she said Lola Rose tried the same thing with her but my mother being braver made her key in the coupon.
Like I said this isn't he first time and I'm sure it isn't to be the last. I want nothing more to do with Miss Lola Rose to the point I'd like to know when she's working so if I do have the misfortune of going to your store I won't encounter her. She's hateful, rude, and bitter and isn't that much different from the other cashiers at your store. The quality of service there has declined over the past year as you stop carrying things my family's bought for years and with the way we're treated it seems it would make more sense to drive an extra 45 minutes to Damascus with me being mentally ill and my mother in bad health to get what we need to avoid any headaches.
I wish no ill to Miss Lola Rose, I simply don't want to encounter her if I have the misfortune of stepping in your store again. I have pictures of the yogurt I bought and of my receipt since she kept the coupon probably as a gambit to make me look crazy. You need to address this problem because I wouldn't want someone like that working for me and being my face in the community. She certainly doesn't give service with a smile and I'd question the wisdom of hiring someone who certainly can't do her job.

Raleigh Blvd, Raleigh, North Carolina--this is a complaint-at 11:37:24am i went through the store as I normally do-I cashed in some coins at the coin changer and got a voucher-I went about the store and got a few things in my hand and went to check out-at register 001 via cashier 0201 on receipt 0030 I purchased the items, as I was checking out a few store employees came up near me and one lady the store manager I have known for a year or so, goes hey you mister, what to doing, i said buying a few things and we talked about the weather and she said loudly that every time she sees me she wants to just give me a hug.. she has never done that before, as she gives a half *** hug and as doing so I felt as if she was padding me down around my waste line--then after she did that she looked the other employees and then made some comments to each other I could not hear, and they walked off. I was still talking to her, , and she just walked away-but I feel that I was singled out and padded down for something...I really don't understand why she would do that..I feel violated because I am handicap and I no longer trust food lion..or any other stores for that matter--Now that I am back home and thinking about it I am disgusted and mortified with what happen...I feel the foodlion rep had no right to put her hands on me, , , I felt profiled for some reason...

When you walk in the doors of the Food Lion in Bennettsville. SC, you can feel the tension and the unhappiness of the employees. I have witnessed, on more than one occasion, the way Theresa, the manager over the cashiers, walks around like an army sergeant criticizing cashiers in front of customers. To me, this should be done in private. She constantly hires new employees and cuts the hours of the good ones. All one has to do is look at the turnover rate and they'll know the wrong person is in charge.
I have even heard vendors complain about whoever checks them in and allots the space. They say how rude this person is as well.
If Food Lion wants to remain in Bennettsville they may need to change the management in certain departments.

I was in this store around 5 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2015. I went in to get last minute items for Thanksgiving meal. I stopped by the pet food to get a certain kind of wet food for my cats and found the last six four packs of it. I then proceeded to the spice isle to look for poultry seasoning and some others, I put my cart to one side out of the way because I wasn't the only one looking for stuff. Found some of it and turned to get my cart and it was gone? I thought someone may have taken it by accident. Looked up and down no where to be seen. An employee asked what I was looking for and I said poultry seasoning and my cart? He started to say I should have gotten the seasoning sooner and then said was there cat food in the cart. I said yes where is it, he then went on to talk about shop lifting and I asked again where the cart was because it was the last of that kind of cat food. He said it had been put back on the shelf? It wasn't there when I checked. Was very upset and threw what was in my hands on the shelf and left. Got home and was still pissed. Called the store and spoke to a supposed store manager Alex? He told me there was nothing I could do and that the ads hole was their security specialist. I'm going to find out what punitive damage I can sue for this is how pissed I still am. Literally accusing me of potentially of attempting to steal cat food because I left my cart to the side while looking for something
You certainly could receive upwards of 18 cents in punitive. Of course, it will cost you thousands in lawyer fees, but you seem dumb enough to go that route.

I went to store 0093 in Wytheville, Va to pick up some Duchess 2% milk and there was not any on the shelf. I went to the back and there was a person of management & stock clerk unloading a Food Lion truck. They both were unloading the truck working fast. I stood close to where they had to pass me and I waited to be acknowledged. They passed me about 3 time...

I thought it was me at first then my wife and sons said the same thing. Recently shopped Food Lion. Was looking at strawberries, sealed in hard plastic containers. A two or three year old child jumped in front of me, opened a package and started shoving strawberries in his mouth. His mother obviously thought it was cute and did nothing. I reported it to the produce employee who said "we really don't mind." I was too timid to take it further but two things came to mind. Someone will not get what they paid for, and the risk of some sickness. These customers did not speak a word of English, so the kid probably had no vaccinations.

Company won't allow cashiers the same privileges everyone else in the store has. Other employees are free to leave their work stations any time they choose to get to the bathroom, break room, water fountain or for a smoke. Managers generally allow cashiers bathroom breaks on demand, but cashiers can only get a drink if it's their break time or customer traffic is low, and that's wrong.
In customer service, we talk to customers non-stop for hours which is excessively dehydrating.
Because of that and because the store is HOT all the time, cashiers should be allowed to at least have bottled water near our work station, especially because there are ample places well away from the electronics to put a bottle of water if they're not wanted in view of customers.
We're just asking for WATER, not beer or a mixed drink for crying out loud.
Additionally, one cashier is diabetic. She brings her temperature-sensitive meds to work in a small insulated bag and until recently was permitted to keep that under her work station too. Now they make her take it to an unsupervised common break room where it can be tampered with or stolen, and that is wrong.
I have the same problems and comments about my Food Lion store. We just want bottled water at our register, water which is more easily accessable to other employees working in other store departments yet isn't in ours.
Why is that such a problem for Food Lion?

They all about Profit and not giveing back to pepole that work there.

Store Manager: Jessie Wright deliberately targets African-American customers- mistreating or insulting them for shopping at his store! Blatant racial discrimination practices at The Food Lion Stores are very routine in The South! I have vowed to myself that I will never do business in an establishment like Food Lion ever again. I may be only one person but hopefully through this website, ReportYourComplaint.com, my voice will be heard by many people and something will be done about this. I am not out for financial gain or to sue Food Lion for racial discrimination, I am just looking to have situations like this corrected so it doesn’t happen to anyone else that is African-American or another minority that might be discriminated against.
Racial discrimination is not only wrong but it is unethical and it should not exist like this in the year 2010.

I had purchased a box of wine from Food Lion in Ashland, Virginia. I had picked up a wrong flavor so, I gone back to the store. I wanted to change it, get the same kind but different flavor. Unfortunately, the store didn’t have the flavor I wanted, so the customer service informed me that I can change the box wine in Raleigh, NC – Food Lion since I resides there, but as per corporate policy is concern, I cannot return and/or receive a refund, I said I’m not returning the item. The Food Lion in Raleigh, NC refused to let me change the box of wine with my receipt due to their own policy. I was disappointed. I knew the clerk was knew but the manager was next to her; without any comments. She just looked at me. I have always enjoyed supporting Food Lion for a year now, but I’m kind of pulling back. I go there if it’s really necessary. It would have been a good food market, if it would have had a good service over all.

Will not wait on consumers
I was in Food Lion and purchased my groceries and got a call from my wife to pick up Tahini Sauce. I asked the clerk and was told he wasn't from here. The clerk in the check out lane next to him the told him to ask the manager and with a cringe he did. The lady behind me stated (people just don't serve the public like they use too). He came back and said Isle 3. I left my groceries and went to look. No Tahini sauce. So I went back and ask someone up front in the managers office. They called for the manager. 20 minute had past and I needed to put my groceries up. The manager walked right by me I stopped him and asked him where could I find Tahini sauce he said he didn't have time and opened up another Isle. I stood in front of him and told him (you have very poor service here and I just got blown off by three people not wanting to help me and I have groceries to get home)you know it didn't even register to him.
for at least 1 month, maybe more the store brand canned biscuits will not rise and the use by date is good.
I want to comment on there steaks every cut from. ribeye on down, the are so tough you cant chew them, thats a shame for the price you pay for them.

I am tired of my bags bursting before I can get them into the house from my car. I have lost 2 bottles of apple juice in the last 2 weeks. I am part of the unemployed due to lay offs, so every penny I spend with you counts. When I pick up a bag by the handle, I expect it to be strong enough to hold what the bagger has put into it.
Walmart double bags bottles of liquid. Follow their lead or lose customers. Why are your bags so week? Cutting cost?

tonight i went into the foodlion close to me to purchase some toilet paper soap and i was also looking for a cheap hair brush so i pick up and a brush and realize that the brush was to much and sat the brush back down. after paying for my toilet paper the manager steve Whitley came behind questioning me about a brush that i had pick up. so i asked him do you think all black people that come into this store steal. he was being and ### .so i asked if i could get coropate number he didn't wanna give it to me after i got loud then they had a number. so i got the number and left the store forgetting to get the name of the store manager name so i go back in to get it. he was standing there telling one of his worker that she can't get mad ###S come in here and steal all the time so i ask his employee what was that i heard him say she didn't wanna repeat what he had said . but i am not noone ### i work 2 jobs and recieve fs and child surport so what is there in foodlion that i need to steal. and as of tomorrow I will be talking to my lawyer for a lawsuit I WILL NEVER SHOP AT FOODLION ON WEST COOKSEY ST IN THOMASVILLE EVER AGAIN after what happen to me tonight

Worthless customer service
I have called there customer no service twice concerning isles being so crowded with product that it is very hard to operate electric cart. I have made it clear there is no desire to be compensated in any way the only fix I seek is to have isles clearly passable there are areas of the store a person with mobility issues can not even thinking about going. On my last visit there was a large display blocking entry to one side of store I was told GM ordered blocking area due to shoplifting. It is great having lots of product yet can not spend money if you can not get to products,
