Fort Mill Ford misdiagnosed my vehicle's repair, charging me $2300 and failing to fix it at first. They also lied to me multiple times. The service department lacks communication and doesn't return calls or answer them. They misdiagnosed my vehicle and charged me $2300 for unnecessary work. Furthermore, they lied about driving my vehicle to diagnose the problem, claiming they did when it actually remained in the same spot for nearly 3 weeks. To prove this, I even marked my tires.

On 2/14/2022, they said it was fixed. The car stopped working on and off for 2 weeks, so I gave it back on 3/10/2022. They said they are replacing the engine again. This is inconvenient for me. I'm behind on bills and I have doctor appointments for my cancer. I just got my car back on March 21, 2022. They didn't tell me that both the dealership and the warranty company were separate entities. Now, after driving 25k miles (a total of 63k), the engine needs to be replaced. I've done all the scheduled maintenance, but the engine is sludged up, and the warranty won't cover it, even though I have maintenance records. The dealership isn't returning my calls either. I bought the warranty in good faith, and if the maintenance issues are the problem, they were already there when I bought the car, and I can prove it with the maintenance records.

The salesperson, Corey, said the second key was in the safe, but he couldn't access it because the manager had already left for the day (it was after 9pm). We agreed to come back the following week for the missing key, as well as a detailing job and a driver's floor mat that was also missing.
When we returned, we were informed that the key person wasn't available and would only be back on Tuesday. I tried calling for several days, but Corey kept saying he didn't really remember us and that he hadn't made any promises. As a result, we were left without a spare key, floor mat, and a full tank of gas.

Worst customer service in Fort Mill. Definitely see why they can't keep people employed. My vehicle was stolen off the lot before I purchased it. Vehicle had hidden damage that Sonic Automotive/Fort Mill Ford tried to cover up. Lights in the bed of the truck did not match. Ford replaced at no cost. Light on side mirror fell off while driving from Fort Mill Ford on the purchase date. Fort Mill Ford replaced at no cost. Water has been leaking in the vehicle which leaves a mildew/sour smell each time after it rains. Since the date of purchase. Fort Mill Ford gives the runaround and never follows up. I have been dealing with Fort Mill Ford for over 2 years and no resolution. I had my vehicle serviced on May 29 and was told I would have someone reach out in 2 weeks for a water leak and busted headlight seal. Guess what, on June 16 I called to follow up and was told Brittany R no longer works there which is why there was no follow up. That's a coward excuse. Anyway, I continue on to get scheduled for today since the leak specialist would be on site. I get there and wait nearly 30 minutes before I was acknowledged. After being acknowledged, I went through the normal questioning and walkthrough of the vehicle. Once the walkthrough was completed, Frank A asked if anyone mentioned that I needed to pay 225 for them to just look at it. Of course not! I've been dealing with this issue since day one and was told that since the vehicle was stolen they would take care of the issue. They just need to locate the leak. Is it my fault that the surveillance system does not work and hasn't worked for years?!?! Frank goes on to tell me that he doesn't see any complaints or mention of any water leaks. That is a BOLD FACE LIE! I asked him why would there be a seal on file ordered for my truck if that wasn't the case, of course he could not explain. Furthermore, Frank A called service to support my claim. Guess what, service confirmed they had the part ordered for the truck. Frank A then stated you will still be charged for the service since I can't see anything on my end to cover himself for waiving the fee. Says I needed to talk to sales. At this point I'm in disbelief due to the endless runaround excuses and time wasted. I asked him if it's my fault he can't see the notes and boldly he said yes. I should have made them print my off a transcript of every conversation after I had one. WHO WOULD EVER ASK THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT to do that?!?!?! Now I see why they cannot keep people employed at this location. I will continue to make myself heard until this problem is resolved.

I bought a Certified Pre Owned 2016 Ford Explorer from Fort Mill Ford. It's been in the shop for about a year now. My husband and I needed a reliable family car, and this was supposed to meet our needs. We even used part of his 401k for an $11,000 down payment. The problems with the car started on [protected]. We took it to the service department and explained the issues: the engine idled roughly at stop lights and the RPMs would fluctuate. When the car reached 45 mph, it would jerk and surge until it hit about 55 mph. They ordered some parts to fix it, and I got my car back on [protected]. But on April X-XXXX, the same exact issues happened again, so we took it back. They checked the car and found a loose vacuum line to the turbo. They fixed it and said it was resolved. But once again, we experienced the SAME issues. On June XX-XXXX, I took the car back to the service department and was told that nothing was wrong with it. They told me to bring it back when the issues happened again. We live 30 miles away from Fort Mill, so every time I had to take time off work to bring the car in. The problem obviously persisted, so my husband took it to the service department on 9/8. The car was jerking dangerously when trying to take off, putting myself and my young children at risk. They said the turbo charger waste gate regulating value solenoid needed to be replaced, but it was on back order until [protected]. We had to keep driving the dangerous car because it was our only form of transportation until the part arrived. By XX-XX-XXXX, I hadn't heard anything, so I sent a formal complaint to Mr. Z and Mr. G about all these issues. They responded quickly, saying the part had arrived that day and I would receive a loaner car and a tank of gas for all the trips I had to make. They had my car for almost 2.5 months. When they returned it, they said they had driven it and fixed the problem. But after just 6 days, the check engine light came on and the car started making a strange roaring noise. We took it back to the service department. As of today, X-XX-XXXX, they still have my car and have given me a loaner to drive. My husband spoke to them today, expressing our stress and frustration. The issue has never been escalated to higher management, only the service manager. My husband suggested to the nice lady handling the loaners that they should buy the car back and give us a deal on a used non-Ford car from their lot. Keep in mind, we put $11,000 down on a car we haven't been able to use for two years. I test drove a car I liked, but it was a bit out of our budget, so I found another one. They said the best they could do was $600 a month and didn't try to negotiate the price at all. They haven't offered any compensation for the stress, time off work, and inconvenience of driving back and forth. I believe they should apologize and offer some sort of deal. If they can't make a deal, I WILL keep taking the car there until they fix the issue. And if we can't come to an agreement, I will personally make sure people know about this experience. No one should have to deal with this. I also have all the service records and email correspondence.
