I e-filed my 2020 tax return with freetax usa. On 3/1 the irs direct deposited my return into a bank account other than the one I entered as my own on the freetax website. I'm assuming freetax changed it for the purposes of collecting their fee. But their website says once they subtract their funds the remainder will be deposited into my account the same business day. I have yet to receive my money and I contacted my bank and they haven't received any direct deposit from this company either. Customer support is non existent and I've emailed them several times with no response.

This was my second year straight using FreeTaxUSA to file my taxes.. This morning I tried to complete my taxes through their services.. I got bumped off several times, couldn't get my previous information to continue,etc.. I contacted customer service through email several times . Keep getting the run around.. I finally said I am done, just refund my account with the money you took PRIOR to completing the services.. Note this issue is still not completed, but they have my money.. I request all refund and my information be deleted from their company! In the mean time I will go else where to have my taxes filed..

I filed my 2019 tax return with their subsidiary company Free Tax USA in April . I entered my correct banking info on my return which has been verified by both myself and their support staff. Today I called the Treasury Dept and found that my stimulus check was sent to American Express National Bank which I believe is in Utah, the same as Tax Hawk. The treasury agent told me this is happening where the IRS sent our money to the tax preparer instead of the taxpayer. This problem has been well documented today involving several taxpayer preparers across the U.S. The support staff said they have no knowlege of this and will not pursue further. The check went to an account ending in *** at that bank.

On April 23, I located free tax usa on the internal revenue website, and electronically filed my 2020 federal and states tax return, unfortunately, according to the internal revenue customer service number they haven't received my return, however the state of maryland has, and they're processing a thorough review of my tax return to ensure accuracy. Unfortunately, I'm unable to contact the tax preparers at free tax usa, and I'm now worried that my refund is going to be delayed as well as any stimulus checks I qualify for. My resolution to free tax usa, is for their company to contact me immediately and to correct all errors they've created during the tax preparation of my 2020 federal and state tax returns.

Hi Folks, FreeTaxUSA advertises a free download of 2017 and 2018 taxes. You fill the forms out, they promise you can download for free. The user must mail forms. They will not let me download my tax forms, saying I must pay a fee to get the state taxes as well. I do not want to do that yet. I had planned to pay the fee to do state taxes after receiving the federal return. However, they are not allowing the free download of the federal taxes, as they advertise. They are very clear, the federal 2017 and 2018 tax returns are Free. They are false advertising. I would have used them for the state refunds, now I can't trust them to keep their word. Please don't let others be fooled like I was. Thank you

I am unable to collect and receive my federal and state income tax refunds after using this company's website for tax preparation. They have thoroughly sabotaged me with their website www.freetaxusa.com. My experience with their website is that it is anything but free. The IRS, the state of Colorado and the US federal banking system are unable to find the refunds that originated when i used this site for tax preparation. Mr Robert T who has contacted me has given me long winded dissertations on the competency of his company which are absolutely disingenuous. He either cannot or will not let me know what happened. It is just fraud. There is $703 in federal and state income taxes out there somewhere and no one can find it.

Tax Hawk Inc., dab Free Tax USA makes misleading and erroneous claims about its state tax filing service. Refunds are delayed because they fail to inform the filer about additional documentation needed for certain credits. They neither provide the information for directing these documents by mail, nor do they prompt you to scan and upload these documents during the filing process. This has happened three years in a row. They should not accept electronic state returns if they do not understand the states' applicable laws. Additionally, after you've paid to have your state return filed electronically, they tell you, "We are unable to file your return electronically because you are claiming a Net Operating Loss. Then, why do they even take you through that form? Why take your money?

I used tax hawk to prepare my 2020 taxes. I finish preparing and was asked to pay 12.95 if I want to efile state taxes. AFTER I paid I got an alert that says I can't efile federal taxed because I have foreign tax credits from a mutual fund. Then it says I can't efile state taxes because I can't efile federal. I did not pay for the ability to print out a tax return. I can prepare and paper-file taxes myself for free. I paid to efile the state tax return In fact tax hawk does not charge if you don't file online. So there are 2 issues here (1) I was misled into paying for efiling even though this is not possible on their site. (2) The efile issue here is unique to tax hawk. I can (and will) go to other online services that do not have a problem efiling with mutual fund foreign tax credits. I would like my 12.95 returned

I was working on my taxes on Thursday, January 23, and I was incredibly concerned with the calculation differences between two different products. Using Free Tax USA (which my Mom uses as an accountant for most of her clients and is a fairly popular product), I was advised that I would owe a federal amount of $622 and receive a Virginia refund of $65. This product would be free for filing federal and about $12 for filing state. Using TurboTax, I was advised that I would receive a federal refund of $34 and a Virginia refund of $65. Owing $622 versus being refunded $34 is a huge difference. I triple checked all numbers and everything runs the same. Both reports are identical. Now I question the integrity of Free Tax USA. Who knows if in past years I have overpaid and if all Free Tax USA customers have overpaid. Something is unethical and fishy. Respectfully, C

I have used FreeTaxUSA to file my Federal and State taxes for several years. I had no problems until this year. When I got to the end of their online tax form and it showed an amount for a refund, I did not really know how it could be correct, because having made a withdrawal from my IRA to buy a house, I knew I had to pay tax on it, but I did not know how to fix it, and there was a message that the IRS had accepted the return. Now I have received a letter from the IRS showing I owe $6,809. I emailed FreeTaxUSA three times for help in confirming this amount on 3/17, 3/22, and 3/25, with NO response. I also emailed them on 3=9-21 for help to show that I put $10,000 of the money I took out of the IRA back into the IRA within the 60 day deadline so that I do not pay tax on this money. There have been several email exchanges but I still do not have an answer as to how to do this.

However, the app didn't allow me to use Bailey Act of NC, which resulted in my owing taxes. My permanent address is ***, Ral NC 27610. I wrote to IRS Ral NC, but never got a reply; however, upon my return 2weeks ago, 03/22, there was a notice of collection from DOR for $554.62. I called DOR, and explained. I have tried to go to the website of FreeTaxUSA repeatedly to try to amend the taxes and to get a copy of filed taxes to no avail. Since DOR agency has told me to do an amendment to said taxes. In addition, I have countless times sent emails to [protected]@support.taxhawk.com, asked for help logging in, changing password to only be told, we sent you a passcode in text to change p/w. This is all so inconvenient as I am a caregiver to my sister receiving treatment. My final setback, NCDOR garnish $802.81

About February 23rd I found my taxes with tax free USA and I did not get the option to put my direct deposit information on there after I called them several times and emailed them several times they told me that my information with the IRS would not change in my stimulus check would most likely go to the same place that it went during the first two which I had no problems however my check is being mailed to me for some reason and it's taking too long to get here after my information has not changed and after I was told it would be directed positive into the same account at the first two stimulus checks was a direct deposited. And now they aren't telling me anything it's between them and the IRS and neither is giving me a straight answer this is really throwing a wrench in my finances I didn't receive anything on my tax return this year so everything is the same and has been since the first two stimulus checks except the third step was check was not direct deposited it's being mailed.

Dear Freetaxusa: I was directed to your partnership with/by the IRS to use your free service to file a 1040-SR for the sole purpose of establishing a direct account router and account information with the IRS so they will finally start giving me my stimulus check sooner by distributing my stimulus checks with direct deposit using my bank account router and account number information and when I filled out your form you failed to provide me with a place to put my direct deposit information. I demand that you fix this situation and fix it as quickly as possible. You're holding up and complicating my ability to receive a stimulus check using direct deposit and you didn't even give me the chance to put my direct deposit information in. Now I demand that you call me and you tell me how I can edit my e-file to include my direct deposit information. I was told by your website I could e-file 1040-SR with my direct deposit information for stimulus check direct deposit your service would provide to the IRS when you e-filed my 1040-SR. IRS direct deposited was "closed" on their website. Where does the incompetence end and you doing your job finally begins? Please advise immediately.
