My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.

I feel that I was deceived and cheated by GE Money Bank. My dentist told me, one year ago, that he had a payment program set up now and if I wanted he could offer me a plan where I could take one year to pay without any interest or charges of any kind. All I had to do was show him a major credit card, which I did. He then told me that as long as I paid the amount in full, within the one year period, there would be interest or charges of any kind to me. However after 30 days I started receiving phone calls from GE Money Bank, saying they were the ones who who owned the dental contract and I needed to make monthly payments! When I objected saying that never was the agreement, I was told it was and they would not believe I was told any different. So then I started to make payments, but was told I was already delinquent and would now have to pay the interest and finance charges too. As of today, August 28, 2007, I still owe them just as much as the amount of my original dental bill and payments have been being made. Their interest is extremely high. Today my wife decided to pay them off so she called them for the balance. First they refused to talk with her saying she wasn't the account holder. I had already contacted them twice, trying to get a payoff balance and not once was I given one. Both times I was given figures that were higher than the current bill states! Today they finally gave my wife a figure that was even higher than the one I was given last evening! Their excuse was the payments were delinquent. However no place on the current statement does it say anything about added charges. She read off the payments and dates to the girl on the phone and was still given the run around. My wife finally had all she could take and asked for a supervisor and was informed she couldn't talk with one because her name isn't on the account! I took the phone and the girl asked if she had my permission to discuss the account with my wife. I told her yes and please check your records and you will see she is the one who has been making the payments. Even then they would not give her a supervisor. They insisted that the amount owed is $632.65. Last evening I was given a figure of $622.85. There are no delinquent fees as payments have been kept up and the statement says new balance is $589.85 and yet they want $632.65 and will not let her speak with a supervisor. Finally she just had enough and hung up. I find GE Money Bank to be very deceptive in their business practices. When I talked with a supervisor, when I was first told the account was delinquent, one year ago, I told him I felt they were crooks and was informed it was not their fault that I felt this way, it was the responsibility of my dentist to explain it to me. I want to send a check in the amount of $589.85, which is the amount indicated on my current statement, but don't want to be hassled later so need to speak with a supervisor and can't even get in contact with one.

As I read the above articles, I feel that all these people are in the right, in regards to their experiences with GE Money Bank. I have to say I feel that GE Money Bank is crooked and has no business being in any consumer business. It's time for everyone, in all 50 states, who have had bad experiences, to contact their States Attorney's Generals and ask to have GE Money bank investigated and their charter revoked.

Ravi sharma, mr ashok and mr tyagi but they always befooled me by saying that you just pay this installment and then u will get the letter. After 2 to 3 installments i have insisted to give me the letter then they misbehaved with me and called threatening calls to my house. Everyone beware!

I recently purchased an item on eBAY by using my paypal account. unknown to me, i did not get a paper bill for a month. 2 months after the purchase, i received a bill saying that my bills are late due.

I called the number and i was informed that it's my fault because GE Bank sent a notice in march 2007 that if they are going all electronic and i must call if i want a paper form bill. The e-bill that was sent to me automatically was sent to a trash file because of the security software (firewall) and destroyed.

When i called, francis and her manager, mrs. dudley, were trained loan sharks. after much complaining, she deducted the late charge but expected me to pay the interest which i rightly feel is not fair. To those who want to complain, the address: PayPal-GE Bank, PO Box 960602, Orlando FLA 32896.

I found the attitude and the response the most unprofessional and encourage other users of GE Money Bank to organize complain their horrible business practices. I like the paypal service but find the GE Money Bank to be sharks who prey on consumers.

I am sure this is of little comfort to all of you who wrote about your experiences with GEMB, but thanks to your comments I will be one potential victim that avoids their traps. Thank you for your comments. I hope this forum helps others like me avoid your troubles.

We are planning on selling a home in Porterville California. My daughter saw a advertisement in the local paper stating that a carpet company Friendly Flooring 133W. Honolulu Ave. Lindsay, CA 93247 was offering a deferred payment plan for six months.

Because of the initial output in remodeling the house we thought using this deferred payment would be best since the final payment would be due in March 2008. And we believe that the house will sell before the payment came due.

This all took place in the latter part of July 2007. When we arrived home and I hadn't heard anything from this company for two weeks, no contract. I called Friendly Flooring and ask them for the telephone number of the company they dealt with.

I spoke to someone who sounded like she had just gotten out of bed and seemed unsure of what information to give me. She said the contract would arrive within the week and she gave me our correct home address. To date September 2, 2007 I've not received a contract, however I did receive a credit card FLOOR COVERING PRO, which I certainly had not asked for. I intend to call this company Tuesday, September 4, 2007. The other issue is when I talked to this woman she told me my balance was $4154.24. Interestingly my original bill from Friendly flooring was for $4058.00 I made a $400.00 down payment. Now since reading the complaints regarding this company I'm afraid I'm going to get caught in some serious problems with this company.

However, when I do contact them I just found there phone number, I intend to find out why I'm being charged an additional $496.24 I will have this account transferred to a reputable company at my first opportunity. I am grateful that I took the time to find your internet. I certainly hope I get this worked out. How do we the working stiffs get stiffed so often?

I got the 12 months same as cash on an install by Empire Carpets. Since I didn't pay it off in the 12 month period, I now owe the full amount, plus finance charges and the finance charges are also being added monthly on top of the initial set of finance charges. That's double finance charges being assessed! I can't seem to get ahead of this with the outrageous finance charges being applied monthly, even when I make huge payments of $1000.00 at a time!

On top of this, they are sending me out another dispute letter to fill out, this will be the third, and keep telling me that they never got the first two! I don't even want them to reduce the debt, I just want the floors I had installed fixed!

I will never use GE Money Bank OR Empire Carpets again!

Purchased items with Old Navy Credit card--even though didn't have card with us--our purchase was approved. Never received any bill statements in the mail. Recently got a phone call stating we owed twice the amount charged due to late fees. Gave them an updated address--they obviously have our phone number--they have been calling over the past few days.
Last week the person on the phone promised to send the billing statement. Nothing again today in the mail. Got a phone call this morning--I informed the caller that we could pay nothing until we received a bill and I hung up on him. I could tell the conversation was being recorded as there was a repeated beeping sound in the background. Of course he didn't say that he was recording our conversation at any time. I believe that is illegal? The phone rang and rang after that. I didn't feel the need to answer it and no message was left on the answering machine. Must have been important right!
Complained to Old Navy and they referred me to this bank--GE Money Bank. The calls were coming from GE Money Bank and not Old Navy they indicated in their e-mail.
Of course I mean to pay for the merchandise but I expect a bill statement in the mail. From what I have been reading--this bank plays this game of tacking on late fees and by either not recognizing payments received or by not bothering to mail statements out in the first place. Who knows?
I too was told to put my complaints in writing. Here I thought I was dealing with the store. Nope!
I think the best suggestion I have read so far is to contact the Attorney General's Office and perhaps to form a class action suit against the bank. If a class action suit were to be formed--there would need to be a giant number of people involved in my opinion to take on this company. I think that may be very possible after having read all the complaints so far.
I was pleasantly surprised that Old Navy did respond to my complaint e-mail. They do not want to lose customers as they stated to me. I have always enjoyed their merchandise.
I think the greatest lesson I have learned from this is that it is no longer safe to use a store credit card. I will never use one again.

Get your Caps off, Screaming Beware. It's called "Revolving Credit" Meaning, the due date can fluctuate. Meaning, it can change by a couple of days, which is why they send you out a statement as a curteosy to YOU. So that you are aware of what is due and when. Not only that you signed the Terms and Conditions which states, that they can change the due date whenever they deem because they are the creditor and you signed your little john hancock on that line, so that means you agreed to the terms, read the fine print before you weep and quitcher[censored]en.

After I was mysteriously locked out of using GE Money’s online account services to pay my bill, I have been unable to get anyone at the company to provide me with an answer as to what the problem may be. I have been told by at least 5 different Indian based customer service representatives that “my account is under review.” Here’s the rub, I really only want pay my account off as the balance is low. Now I’m concerned because I’ve not received my latest statement in the mail. And after reading some of the other complaints on various websites about GE Money, I’m beginning to think they engage in dubious business practices. Is this is what Jeffrey Immelt had in mind when he decided to ship customer service offshore. Nice work!

I thought I was the only person being scammed by GE Money Bank, until I read other complaints similar to mine. This so called lending institution should be dealt with by the national center of the Better Business Bureau. I recently wrote my local BBB about a dispute with the merchant (NOT CARE CREDIT) and the company that I made the purchase from is now issuing me a partial refund. I still owe an outrageous balance with Care Credit/GEMB because of their unjust practice of charging people outrageous finance charges. I felt that their phone reps were not helpful and also very cut and dry.

My experience is that GEMB received a payment from me in the form of a money order (MO) purchased from Western Union. Two statements later I noticed that the amount had been put back on my account along with a return check and late fee. I of course called and said it was not a check, that it was a MO. They said the maker (i.e. Western Union) did not honor the payment. I of course then called WU and in short they sent a document proving they had honored the MO. I then went back to GEMB and asked them for a copy of the so called "returned check". What I received was a copy of the front of my MO and the back of someone's personal check that had indeed been returned for "NSF". I pointed this out to them. I was told by their customer service that I would have to send my complaint to their finance department. I sent them a letter and included the copy they provide and the document I received from WU which was a copy, front and back of the money order. GEMB responded with a form letter saying they were researching and would get back to me. I waited months for a response or a correction on my statement, but neither showed up. So I called and by now I'm used to their substandard service so nothing they say can penetrate me. They insisted that my payment was not honored by WU and withing days of that call I received another form letter saying that if I didn't respond to them within 15 days they would consider the matter closed. I then pounded out another letter to them and again sending copies of everything I had sent before and included the worthless correspondence I had received from them. I had to mail all of this in a large manila envelope. Guess what, I received another form letter saying they received my letter and they were researching and would get back to me. The way 6 months ago. I have not heard from them. Tonight I called and closed my account. These people scare me. I am all for a class action suit. Also, I was in another complaint site for this same company and another victim is urging everyone to post a complaint on this consumer website.

I have a care credit account and I have always paid more than the required payments. I overlooked my payment one month but the next month paid more than required. They start calling me at home on a Saturday telling me I have not made a payment. I told them I had already sent them a check for more than the required payment. They then call me Sunday, Monday, then Tuesday at work, when I answered the phone stating that I worked for a Law Firm, they started speaking another language. The same number called me at work Thursday; so I just answered Hello, It was them again. I told them they were calling me at work and I had already sent their money over a week ago and to please not call me at work again. Four hours later they call me at work again, I asked to be transferred to the supervisor and was told I would have to call another number. When I called that number, I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor and was put back out in the pool of calls and got another Rep. who I attempted to let help me. I asked that they stop calling me at work and she began telling me they had no other number listed but my home phone. I told her I had been getting calls all week at work. She politely told me she thought I was just mad because I hadn't paid my bills. I told her I was mad because I kept getting phone calls at work concerning something I had already paid. She then told me to pay my bills on time and they won't call. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she said absolutely not; then hung up. This was over a thirty dollar statement. I have closed my account!

GE Money are just not willing to compromise. After being transfered to 3 different numbers and reps. I was told that if I couldn't pay the full amount owed it was too bad. When I first got behind I was getting 2-4 calls per day 7 days a week. Is that not harassment? When a client is willing to make payments ( just not the LARGE ONES) why not agree. My account has several hundred dollars of finance charges and late fees if you take them off I could with a reasonable finance charge I wouldn't be having this problem. The next thing is that when your items are reposed they still expect you to pay for them. Someone please email me with answers or who to call for help.

On Tuesday October 8th, i was called a total of three times by a GE Money Bank representative. I continuously told the representative that i was not informed that i had an account open with this company. The representative continuously asked me for private information such as my address. I told the representative that i was not going to give him any of my information.I began to record the phone conversations. I have no idea how they got all of my information, or how i owe them any money. Everytime the representative called my phone, the number never showed up so there was no call back number. The representative not once asked me if i needed any paperwork to submit any cases of fraud either.

I received a call at work (from someone who could not speak English) regarding a payment that was make electronically over 20 days ago. I told the person I would have my bank fax them confirmation of payment. Response "we don't have a fax number, you will have to mail confirmation of the payment to El Paso". I asked if the late fees assessed incorrectly would be waived "no". WRONG! I called the bank, they faxed me the verification that the payment had been made. I had to send the confirmation to a difference PO Box in El Paso (where no one speaks English); it cost me $4.60 to send it by priority mail. I called their customer service number. "Due to high call volumes you may experience long wait periods". Really? Why, I wonder why they are experiencing high call volumes. No one speaks English and they can't read electronic transfers and post them to the write account! What a bunch of jerks!

I am glad to have found out about GE Money Bank now. I was in my local Belk store recently & as they usually do at the register asked me if I'd like to apply for a Belk card to receive discounts. I did so as my purchase was large. I was instantly approved and then abruptly pulled off. When asked why I was told I would receive a letter in the mail. My letter came yesterday showing GE Money Bank as the creditor for Belk. The reason shown was 'UNABLE TO VERIFY IDENTITY'. I called Belk as there was no ph# on the letter for GE Money Bank. The Belk rep called GE MB & the first rep there said he would go to a supervisor & should be able to get me approved. He said they attempted to contact me 3 times to verify my identity. I explained I had 3 phone#s on the application (Home, work for which I was at during the day, and cell for which I have w/me all the time). He said they only show 1 ph# on the app, not so, I have the app! No message was left on my home machine either. I was connected to the supervisor who said after 3 attempts to contact me HE WOULD NOT APPROVE. I asked how he could prove they attempted to contact me, he said b/c my chart said so... I assured him they did not, at least no message was left on my home, by his own admission no attempt was made on the other 2 #s b/c he said he didnt see them. Thank goodness I didnt get hooked up w/them, I am writing to Belk & suggesting they look at the complaints here & consider other vendors to handle their credit cards. GE MB suggested I re apply & would probably be approved...not a chance to get hooked up with these crooks...

I financed carpet through GE Money Bank in August 2006, 12 months same as cash. I have triple A+ credit. GE Money Bank did not even send me a bill until one year later, end of promotional period, with one year finance charges added on in the amount of $1,000. I had never heard of GE Money Bank until I went online. I agree a class action lawsuit is what they need.

I'll try to make this short. As a law student, it appealed to me that GE Money CC promised 0%. (No finance charges until I was employed and could make larger payments.)

1. They reduced my credit limit by $6000 all of a sudden for no reason.
2. They began charging me finance charges. When I inquired, they called it a glitch and credited me every month.
3. After several months of me calling every month to fix this "glitch," I was transferred to a supervisor who rudely said the finances charges were due to a late payment. (FIRST TIME IM HEARING ABOUT THIS SO CALLED LATE PAYMENT)
4. Frustrated and unable to communicate with this supervisor, i closed the account.
5. In an attempt to get GE Money out of my life forever, I made a balance transfer which showed up as having gone through.
6. two weeks later, I get a call from GE collections saying that the transfer didn't go through and was charged a late fee AND a bounced check fee.
7. The other financial institution said that GE MONEY rejected their transfer.
8. GE MONEY denied this - and refused to credit me the fees. One rep even accused me of telling a "story."

On top of it all, I cant ever communicate with a customer representative who understands what I am saying!

I have a very similar story to everyone else on this board... does anyone have any advice as to how to resolve? Are there any success stories out there?

I got linked to GE Money Bank through Empire carpets. I spent about $2500 on new carpets and used the 0% interest free financing gimmick. I sent payment for the full amount 2 weeks prior to the due date. For some reason GE Money bank didn't submit my check though until 2 days after my due date so now they say I owe them over $1000 in back interest charges.
I had great credit before this and now I feel so helpless. I either let them destroy my credit rating or I let them steal $1,000 from me.

Does anyone have any advice?

I strongly agree with this complaint. I have a Care One Credit card due to needing some brake work done at Midas. Midas hooked me up with GE which offered no interest for 12 months as long as I remained current. I sent my first payment 2 weeks before the due date for the amount of $50 (the balance was $500 at that point) and it posted right away. I sent my next payment of $50 2 weeks ahead of the due date and it did not post until the 11th (due date was the 10th)! I talked to a customer service rep and she said since they had not sent my my payment invoice in the mail, they would not charge me a late fee.

This time around I sent payment October 29th and still it has not posted with tomorrow being the due date. It was for $50 again and same as always sent via cashier's check from my bank. I called customer service and the rep again said she would credit it as being on time. I fear they are trying to force me to have missed payments so they can assess me with back interest which is a lowball immoral thing to do. My next payment is going to be for the remainder of the balance and it is going to be sent via certified mail. It really sucks that I have to do it this way but unfortunately I do.

Btw I'd gladly sign my name on a class action suit. I don't care about winning anything, it's always about the principle with me.

Due Dilligence, and financial responsibility are NOT ENOUGH once you have become entrapped by GEMB:

GE Money Bank has one objective, to make money. They have no ethic or moral convictions and will ruin your financial reputation and deplete your resources, period.

Each of the "Application and Initial Cardholder Agreement(s)" documents that you signed contains a reference to the "AGREEMENT", which is "by reference, incorporated into and made part of" the document that YOU SIGNED when you applied for this "credit".

This "AGREEMENT" document is NOT provided at the time of application, yet by signing the application itself, you have acknowledged that you agree to the terms of this "AGREEMENT" . Included is this statement: "TERMS INCLUDE AN ARBITRATION PROVISION WHICH MAY SUBSTANTIALLY LIMIT YOUR RIGHTS". This is evidently how GE Money Bank can treat consumers in ways that are so clearly "illegal", however every consumer that borrowed funds from them has already signed away "SUBSTANTIAL" RIGHTS"!

I am in the process of attempting to obtain this mysterious and seemingly damaging and illegal document at this time.
The best anyone can do is to WARN everyone you know to NEVER EVER enter into any agreements with GE Money Bank, EVER. The "differed interest" offers are nothing more than entrapment. I was prepared to pay cash for a refrigerator, but the salesperson talked me into this 2 year no payment deferred interest option, so I can "leave my money invested where it belongs".

Paying off the balance is NOT an option with this company. Our "Federal Trade commission" IS the place to aim all of your complaints, but to protect yourself, you MUST retain legal counsel to represent you in real time.

It is still not clear HOW to end a relationship with this company, but keeping highly accurate and detailed record of every single thing that happens is ALWAYS necessary. Track record and retain every single payment you ever make to them. Pay by CHECK so you will have a paper record of your payments.

REMEMBER: WARN YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, ANS WRITE TO YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER EDITORIAL PAGE.
THE ONLY WAY THIS WILL EVER STOP, OR EVEN CHANGE, IS WHEN NEWS OF IT REACHES ENOUGH PEOPLE TO AFFECT THEIR "BOTTOM LINE".

COMPLAINING TO AN ON LINE FORUM ONLY GOES SO FAR. YOUR COMMUNITY NEEDS TO BE INFORMED. FIND WAYS TO DO THAT. DON'T STOP, ABD DON'T EVER GIVE IT.

I had acquired GE Care Credit to do a surgery for my dog. I am almost done with the payment and had I known (seen more carefully) that the promotional rate would expire, I would have paid in full balance. With $150 to pay, they are charging me a finance rate of over $200. Are they allowed to charge a finance charge to the promotional purchase? What is the point of getting it if it'll be charging a finance charge of the whole amount? I feel so cheated that I have to pay in finance charge.

This is a problem with Walmart Debit Card that is serviced by GE Money Bank, They lost my direct deposit and I cant find anyone with any sense to talk to about this. I am currently in the mist of dealing with GE Money Bank with similar problems leading to concerns. I financed $5,500.00 worth of dental work at 12 months no interest and have made the final payment on November 19, 2007 to avoid the compound interest of over $900.00. This was not without much effort on my part. Weeks in advance of the end of the promotional rate ending I had made arrangements with my Bank Of America account to pay the balance and move it to low interest credit card account. When requesting this payment the customer service representative informed me that the payment will need to be a check that they will issue as GE Money Bank will not receive electronic payments from Bank Of America. I checked the GE Account on line a week before the due data and found the balance was not paid off. In calling GE Money Bank they said that the payment was never received by their office. I called Bank Of America and found out that the check had been issued in a timely fashion and they have had a history of GE Money Bank not cashing the checks issued from Bank Of America. Hoping that the check would clear GE Money Bank I waited the final week and on the day the GE Money Bank account was at the end of the promotional period (before 5pm EST) I went on line and paid the balance electronically drawing funds from my savings account. The next day the balance due on the GE Money Back account was indicated to be $0.00. Days later, looking at my Back Of America credit card account, the check was indeed cashed by GE Money Bank 23 days after it was issued and after the promotional period . I am now in the process of trying to get GE Money Bank to refund the credit which is the same amount as the final balance, which is the same amount of the bank check, and the same amount of my electronic payment – doesn’t take a CPA to realize that it was a double payment!

In my assessment of the situation it sure looks like GE Money Bank engaged in unscrupulous, if not fraudulent activities to collect the compound interest from the 12 month no interest loan. I will be contacting my dentist to inform him that the company he is using is doing such things to his patients/customers.

This is the very least I would recommend that we all do – inform the companies that offer this line of credit to find a more reputable company to offer the finance plan and NOT USE GE MONEY BANK! I will also be looking into notifying the Office of the Attorney General of Texas; Consumer Protection.

Wish me luck on getting the refund.

The day after I received my JCPenney bill I sent a check for the entire amount, $131.29. to GEMB, however only $31.29 was sent to my bank and charging me an extra $1.94 along with the balance of $100. One would think that this would be a simple error to resolve -- not so. The first person that I talked to told me she could not bring up the scan of my check and that I would have to talk to my bank, who told me that, since it was an electronic transaction, they could not verify the amount on the face of my check. A second person at GEMB did bring up the scan and said that the amount was, indeed, $131.29. I talked to Mrs. Jefferson, a supervisor, who told me that everyone makes mistakes and that I should send in another $100.00 payment - no apology. All of this took two hours of time that was precious to me. I will make that payment at a JCPenney store where I will get a cash register receipt. I will not send another check to GEMB ever.

I totally agree with everything said. I cannot believe the kind of customer service these people are getting away with. When I first received my card I had to ask for a statement... twice! Then when I finally received it I signed up for Automatic bill pay. Now I'm receiving phone calls saying that they have not received a payment, when if fact they did. Why else would they send me a confirmation email stating... we have received your payment. I missed about 5 phone calls from them today because I have been busy christmas shopping but as soon as I try to reach them it is impossible.

Valerie.

Nah, dont worry, you are not alone... am from India and I think thier customer service is pathetic and the practices fraudulent too.

am trying to get the GE Money card account of my neighbor closed on her behalf (she does not understand the terms and conditions of the card, but is ready to pay off and close the account whatever it takes).

The late payment fees and the interest are not line items in the bill. So, when she paid 300 bucks less than her total amount, she was charged more than 100 bucks including interest and latepayment fees. So far acceptable. Now this 1000 odd bucks are shown as opening balance.

Also, she is still being charged an insurance premium and the bottom of the statement states that the insurance cover stands withdrawn three months ago.

am seriously contemplating going to the banking ombudsperson (the first step before moving to court in india) against GE Money... am a person who reads the small letters before signing a document and looks like banks still find a smarter way to strip me (yup, I have already gone to the ombudsperson about another bank to get things settled - thankfully at least this process works though with delays)

Sorry, I meant that my neighbor was charged 1000 (one thousand) odd bucks for 300.

I bought a wedding ring for 7k paying 4k cash and wanting to finance 3k so the jeweler set up an account with GE money, they set up the account for 3k on a 90 day no interest. I didn't think about that until the 90 days were up and i had only paid $300. then the interest kicked in and it put me over the limit which added fees, now making minimum payments i owe 3900.00 a year and a half later. Why would they set the limit for exactly what i wanted to finance? I guess i am one of the suckers that doesn't read fine print.

I was called be GE Money Bank on 10-27-2007... actually, I was called by somebody over in India representing GEMB stating that I was late on my payment for my account. I asked the person to tell me the balance of my account and he told me the amount. I then said I'd like to pay it off in full instead of just making a payment. He took the info and I asked specifically if this brings the balance to zero and he had said yes. Then this weekend I got a copy of my credit report (annually thru state of CO) and it showed a negative mark on my credit from GEMB and it showed a balance of $45. I immediately called GEMB and spoke to someone in India and told her that I paid it in full in Oct. and she said that there was a $35 fee that was on my account which has since had a $15 late fee attached on to it. I told her I wanted to speak to a manager regarding this and she sent my back stateside to a customer service rep named Dawn. I told her the story and she said the $35 fee was put on on 10-24-2007. I told her that I paid off my account on 10-27 so there should be a $0 balance. she said no there is a $35 balance and that there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to her manager and she said there is no one else and that she was the only one I could deal with and that there was nothing that she could do. I at this point was getting very upset that she was unwilling to listen or help out in any way and she said that there was nothing else she could do so she was going to hang up. In which she did do. I called right back and was put thru again to India and told her of my situation and asked to speak to her boss, she then sent me stateside AGAIN and low and behold who answered the phone... DAWN! She was very smug when asking me if she can be of service to me and I said I want to speak to someone else and not her. She said that there was NO one else for me to talk to and that I would have to deal with her and her only. I said then forget it and then I hung up on her. I have never in my life encountered such a unprofessional person. Why would I make a payment for exactly $814.17 and then leave a $35 balance?!? If a situation comes up and you are offered a loan thru GEMB... RUN LIKE HELL!

Help! My husband and I purchased a new motorcycle this past summer and it is financed through GE Money Bank. I am scheduled for some "reconstructive" surgery in two weeks and I am using Care Credit to pay for it. What am I getting myself into? We are planning on paying off the motorcycle in the next two weeks. What should I be looking for as far as "rip-off" charges or other "unforseen" business practices with this company? I am scared out of my mind now that I have read the comments here. I am open to all comments. Thank you.
