My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.

i recently realized i did not need my prepaid visa card and according to the fine print it could be refunded in full as long as it hadn't been activated...upon calling the number on the back of the card and giving the service rep my prepaid card AND receipt information (according to the rep our conversation was recorded); i was assured the refund would be for the full amount...i have received a check short $11.06 and have no way of contacting the company or asking where the rest of my refund is...it is unnerving that this day and age walmart would put their neck on the line for a company already known to be scamming the american people...my only question is "what's in it for walmart"?

Companies are trying to bully people into setting up automatic payments and or paying with any type of plastic that has an account number. sprint/nextel and direct tv both had our information on file, and when we were unable to make a payment on the due date, they took it upon themselves to just extract it without our consent. If we didnt have the money in the first place to pay, what makes them think they can just take it directly from our account which had gone against our rent checks. We dont pay anything online anymore. I reported our cards lost/stolen and go through the trouble of getting a money order and mailing it. To me its corporate bullyism. Theyve said my checks had been late at times just so they can charge me a late fee. Companies are so dishonest and crooked and the government protects them not us! Utilitiy companys havent done this, yet, but its mostly cell phone, cable, things that arent necessities. But i dont exactly need a bunch of overdraft charges accrueing on our account either. I just tell them that i dont have an account and ill send a money order with my statement. Thats another thing, they really push to end the paperless bill too. what if you dont have a computer, or it breaks, or whatever. Just stick to the old fashion way and mail it in. I know it can be a hassle, but we have to show them that we arent going to be bullied.

i had ge money bank for my lasik procedure. they offerred me no interest for 18 months. they never told me that at the end of the promotion they were going to charge me a lump sum of all the finance charges they didn't charge me throughout the promotion. now my procedure was a total of approx $2500. i made my no interest payments throughout the promotion. at the end of the promotional period, they are charging me $907.25 for finance charges. now i owe $2349.75. this means i made all those payments for nothing. i called them and told them if i would've known i would've paid the full amount on the last bill i received. this is a scam, they only tell you that they are offering no interest, to wheel people in, then BAM they get you at the end with a lump finance charge. now they don't want to work anything out.

This company is a scam in my opinion! My credit score is 780 i've been in good standings with other creditors! For some reason, this company delays the payment process to get you to pay late penalties. December 15, 2007 was a saturday i had spoken to there customer service because of a late fee for the previous month for a online payment that was not credited! I then proceeded to pay over the phone with my account for both months. Janurary 8, 2008 i received a phone call stating i was late two month and that there was insufficient funds! Not true, december 14 was a friday which my company direct deposits on time! This is the same problem for someone else i know who has dealt with this co. Do yourself a favor, i recommend not doing business with ge money bank! I'm going to pay off this account and close the account! Live and learn. . .

You should understand Credit before you go slandering a banks name all over a website. If they reduce your credit line it's because you post a risk. Meaning your Credit bureau score is checked 1x per month to see if you are deliquent with any other company. If your score falls below what it was when you got the credit line you were granted.. then they will reduce your credit line, because you are deliquent with others. Do you understand how many people run up credit cards and then don't pay them?

The Credit bureau shows the truth of anyones payment history, so perhaps you should blame that on yourself. If your line was decreased you OWE PEOPLE other than GE, which explains how you were getting finance charges on your acct with GE, because you're a habitual late payer! No wonder they reduced your credit line! so yes you get finance charges on top of charges when you're late. There is no grace with GE Money. Read the terms and conditions that you receive when you get a credit card. THey aren't there to just throw in your back seat of your car.

As I read these several complaints reguarding GE Money Bank, I have to agree with most everyone. That has to be the most inefficient, addle brained, least trained bunch in the lot!

And the statements toward rip offs , scams and title holding , all of it rings loudly! I had a carpet install that come to discover they were financing thru a bogus carpet store...The product was shoddy, the install was deplorable, the walls and new paint were jacked up...U name it! then the int rates , as high as 62% Yes 62%. We never signed any contract, we never received any paperwork, the merchant was as bad as GE Money...Needless to say That's one road I'd hope to never walk again...They are simply common thieves, and get all mad if you catch them...Missy

We, too, were taken by Care Credit (G E Money Bank) on a needed dental loan. Even though my payments over the time of the loan were above the minimum payments due, I did not see the fine print and they charged me two LATE PAYMENTS, one being in December and the other in May just two months before I would have paid it in full. They did not explain this as an underpayment, which I could have easily rectified. Even though the payments were on time, they added late fees. By the time I figured out their tricky ways, they charged me back interest at a high rate, coming to 1800.00 plus, which I am now in collections over with their lawyers in Minnesota. I plan to fight this to the hilt, I did notice that their new statements as of January 2007 were much easier to follow--no doubt this has caused many people problems.
When I got the statement where they piled on the interest, I immediately paid the bill in entirety. G E Bank is shameless.

GE Money Bank has the absolute worst customer service. I had one rep, apparantly Indian, refuse to let me speak to his supervisor after I was getting no where trying to resolve a problem with him. He told me that our conversation had escalated as far as it was going to. Then he started yelling at me when I informed him that I was going to record the call. They are the worst, worst, worst!

I got lasik in Sept of 2006 and got a 15 month promotional period with CareCredit. I made payments of more than the minimum balance every month (I think I was late once) and had no problem.

This month, when I went to make my very last payment before my promotional interest rate expired, they mysteriously lost the check the bank had sent. The promotional period ended on the 12th (even though everytime I called their computers said the 1st) and I scheduled the payment to get there on the 10th. The bank confirmed with me that the payment left on the 7th and I had no reason to disagree since I've never had a problem with them.

Somehow, the check got "lost" from the bank to the CareCredit people. I think it's pretty suspicious that the only time it got "lost" was when my promotional period was over.

It was pretty cool. I talked to my bank and THEY called the company and we had a three way conversation. He got CareCredit to waive the late fee and take off the $700 worth of interest that was put on my account when I "didn't pay." I still need to cancel the account but hopefully I can get out before there are any other problems.

CareCredit is just the "loan shark" arm of GE Money bank for dental work. Dentists should be warned not to be offering this service, as they are guaranteed to rip you off with interest charges. Maybe the dentists get a kickback. We paid off our account 3 months after opening it (and made monthly payments), yet they continued to add interest to interest. It hurt my husband's credit report (which was A+++) showing $500 "write off" (that was interest racked up on false interest), so I just filed a complaint with BBB (nationally) asking them to help me get CareCredit to take false negative report off, also filed complaint with FCC because after the entire principal was paid off, they continued to call us on our home phone many times EACH day (can you say harassment), until my husband finally stated for the umpteenth time, STOP CALLING US, and they finally stopped.

You cannot call these horrible people, they call you--just make their life miserable by filing complaint with BBB.

Well guess what? I received one of their lovely little stinken Gift Cards for Christmas from a Relative, and on the back states the amount of outrageous fees this off the wall bank charges. My opinion, they need to be reported to the FTC, Federal Trade Commission, "immedately"! Good Luck to all.

I just received my first bill with an actual minimum amount due to GE Money Bank after a "Make No Payments for One Year" offer through Empire Carpets for flooring. Hey, I made no payments for one year. That was the enticement of the offer and I took them up on it. I was fully aware that I would incur finance charges. I was fine with that. Once the interest/finance charge kicked in, however, the total amount due was more than the credit limit on the account. The account now shows an "overlimit amount" and I'm instructed on the statement to pay this amount - $1100 - at once to avoid "overlimit fees." I spoke to, of course, and Indian man, and asked why the initial credit limit wasn't set high enough to accommodate the impending finance charge. They knew how much it was going to be and purposely set the credit limit so that it wouldn't cover the finance charge. He gave me so much attitude, saying that most consumers pay their balance off before the finance charges begin. I don't believe that to be true, but it's irrelevant. My question was/is why the credit limit wasn't set high enough to cover the finance charges that GE MB undoubtedly knew would exceed the too low limit, "forcing" them to collect fees. Such a scam!

GE Money Bank assessed finance charges to my account which were paid in full. I sent a letter with copies of my bank statement showing my payment sent as well as the date my account was debited for the full amount on the bill. GE never responded but sent me another bill with additional finance charges on the finance charge. I called customer service at least 5 times spending hours to talk to each representative who was rude, dropped my call (several times), and refused to let me talk to a supervisor or manager( they just drop my call). I do not have time to waste calling and filing complaints, but this is just so outright outrageous for a big company like GE to be dealing with consumers like this. Someone needs to deal with this so other consumers are not victimized! I filed a complaint with BBB (Better Business Bureau) short of writing to a congressman or lawyer to deal with this. This is just NOT RIGHT - big business taking money they did not earn from the little guys because they can get away with it - hope they get brought to justice.

Can you believe that I'm just now seeing what an incompetent, poorly managed company this must be. I just got a call from customer service representatives of GE Money Bank last night after 4 months. It started out with me opening an account to get my transmission repaired. The terms of the agreement included a 90-day same as cash. One month after opening this account I still had no card, no bill, no calls. I returned to the repair shop and got the customer service # but was told that I did not exist in their system. I went through the same scenario 2 more times at 6 weeks and 2 months after originally opening this account. Finally I receive a call from them that nearly $400 in charges were added to my original $2400 bill because I failed to make payments. I discovered that they had no physical street address on the account so never sent a bill but they are not willing to extend the original terms of the agreement to me. Needless to say I am majority disappointed and would highly discourage any transactions with this company. Furthermore I will immediately close this account once a zero balance is shown, never to do business with these incompetent fools again! I am also going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

My Meijers charge card in now 6 months old. The problem is when I opened up the card I told the woman to look on the back for my current address. I have lived at this address for 2 years. My license inst ready to renew so it is listed on the back. I filled out the forms using my correct address. Telling the customer clerk at the 13 mile and mound warren store to look on back three times for correct address. Should I of been amazed she didn't get it? Little to say the monthly statements kept going to my old address of 2 years ago. I had to keep calling to get a statement sent to my current address. I would forget to call to remind them to send me a statement to my home. If I was late calling or if I forgot to call and I called past the statement due date. They put interest on my card. I was so upset with them. I have a credit score of 750 and I am never late paying my bills. It shouldn't have to be up to me to keep calling them to send it to the right place. I should of know first off when they sent the charge card itself to the wrong address. Isn't that nice sending a charge card to a wrong address on people! Then my other complaint is that every time I do call I get someone that cant speak english very good at all! They get upset with me cause I cant understand them! English is not even my first language! The fact is no one even knows I can speak German or spanish! Press one for spanish! In america! Shouldn't it be press one for english! Nope we now have to learn Arab, indian, asian, Only in America it seems---soon there will be no america everyone wants to come here cause they love this country but yet they dont leave the one they left behind in the first place.. if there land was so great whey did they leave. Talk about getting slapped in the face americans... if one leaves their country to come to a better one, what good is it going to do if they come here and complain and want and start to change our country into one just like theirs. Go figure.

Do not use GE MONEY BANK -- After almost a month, I am still waiting for my credit of over $1000. Here is a copy of a letter sent to GE MONEY BANK on 1/4/08 -- as of today - no response:

January 4, 2008

GE Money Bank
P.O. Box 981284
El Paso, TX 79998

Re: Credit Care Account xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx

Dear sir or madam:

I am writing in response to what can only be described as possibly the worst customer service example I’ve experienced in years. As a customer service trainer, I can only hope that this issue is escalated within your organization as this behavior is completely unacceptable.

To provide background - I had PRK surgery in May, 2006 and received one of your credit cards along with the 18 month interest free financing. Every month, I have paid over the minimum amount due and paid earlier than the due date. This being said, I knew that the offer expired in January, 2008, but thought that the expiration date was the same as my monthly due date, approximately the 20th of the month.

Upon realizing my error, I immediately contacted your customer service area on Thursday, January 3, 2008. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite. I explained my issue and explained while I could over pay, I was concerned about having the approximate $1000 overage returned to me in a timely manner. I explained that I had paid the bill via online payment (as I normally do) and the payment would hit G E on 1/9. Please note - the due date to avoid any finance charges was 1/5. When I explained my concerns about double paying to the gentleman, he was sympathetic, and said while there wasn't anything he could do, I could speak with a supervisor. I thanked him for his time and held for a supervisor.

At approximately 9:09 p.m., the supervisor then came on the line. I asked if the gentleman had already explained the situation or would she need me to start over. She said, "I understand you are angry about the rate." I explained I wasn't angry at all and that I was concerned about double paying. I explained again that the payment was in process on line and would hit G E on January 9. The supervisor refused to extend the date. I then expressed my dismay that GE would rather see me pay the account in full twice; cancel to never to business with them again instead of extending the date by 3 business days. The supervisor rudely said, "Don’t put words in my mouth" and went on to speak rudely in a very loud voice. When I asked the supervisor's name, I was told "Dawn." When I asked for a last name or location, "Dawn" said, "they are fully aware of who I am."

Needless to say, I will be using this as an example of how not to handle a call.

As of January 9, G E will be in receipt of approximately $1000 in overpayment to the above referenced closed account. I am requesting that these funds be released IMMEDIATELY upon receipt as the account is paid in full and closed. Please note that I had every intention on keeping the account opened until "Dawn" and her horrible attitude. Remember, “Dawn” represents your company – would you like her to speak with your mother? How many other accounts have cancelled because of this type of behavior? Not only did CreditCare lose our business, but I will also be closing my Amazon, Gap, Lowes, QVC, and PayPal accounts as well.

I am not some deadbeat. I have never been late and I refused to be treated disrespectfully from an employee that should be setting the example as she claimed to be a supervisor. I feel that I was a very good client that would have happily continued to utilize G E services, but unfortunately, would rather not deal with what I can only describe as someone that, in my opinion, should not be supervising others.

I've called GE MONEY BANK once a week since 1/18/08 - every time, the check is in the mail.

Boycott and class action is seriously what they need.

I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR 20 YEARS AND MY BROTHER IS IN CONSTRUCTION AND HAS ALWAY S USED PC RICHARD FOR APPLIANCES NEEDED. IN NOVEMBER I WENT TO THE COMMACK STORE TO PURCHASE A REFRIGERATOR FOR WORK. I SPOKE TO A GENTLEMEN, HE TOLD ME MY CARD WAS OLD AND NEEDED A NEW ONE. HE TOOK THE INFORMATION GAVE ME A NEW CARD, CHARGED THE REFRIGERATOR TO THE CARD AND I LEFT. TWO WEEK LATER I REVEICED A CREDIT ON MY OLD CARD AND CALLED AND ASKED THAT IT BE TRANSFERRED TO MY NEW CARD. I WAS TOLD NOT A PROBLEM, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE ON MY NEXT STATEMENT . THE NEXT STATEMENT I RECEIVE THEY REMOVED THE CREDIT AS OF FEBRUARY 2008 I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CREDIT OR A CHECK FOR THIS CREDIT. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CALL GE MONEY BANK NINETEEN (19) TIMES HAVE BEEN PUT ON HOLD FOR AS LONG AS 45 MIN. I CALLED THE STORES AND THEY WILL NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO HELP OR SEE IF THEY COULD GET IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WHO AT GEO MONEY BANK THAT COULD HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE MADE MANY ATTEMPTS TO SPEAK TO ANYONE AND THEY PUT YOU ON HOLD AS TELL YOU "A REPRESENTATIVE WILL BE WITH YOU SHORTLY". I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY YOU HAVE SO MANY COMPLAINTS. AS OF TODAY I AM WRITING A LETTER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND HAVE THEM INVESTAGATED. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

This is my seventh call to G E Money Bank requesting that they return my $1080 credit.

Now, the lovely customer service manager, Kristen, operator 74203, is telling me that:

1. My letter of complaint was sent to the wrong address (even though the address was given to me on 1/3/08 when I made my first call as well as being posted on G E Money Bank under "Contact Us"

2. When I called in before, that started the clock all over again to request the return of the over payment. Basically, if you have a credit, don't call them because if you do, G E Money Bank has 30 to 45 days to process that call. Nice, huh?

3. When I asked for a supervisor, Kristen, operator 74203, told me, "no one above me takes phone calls" and "I'm the highest level of management you'll speak to." Nice, huh?

I've filed complaints with BBB and CT Department of Consumer Protection. I am filing a complaint with the Atty General's office as well as since commerce ran across state lines, I'm sure there more statutes that G E Money Bank can get hit with.

FILE COMPLAINTS WITH YOUR LOCAL DCP, BBB, Attorney General - these guys are HORRIBLE.

My complaint has the same suggestions as the others, when i financed a ring for 25oo, they approved me for a loan of 3000 dollars, they told me my payments would be 50 dollars a month and when i got my first bill, it was 100 dollars, when i tool the ring back and told them i couldn't offord the payment, they denied me and said they couldn't take the loan back. So while i was struggling to make payments i fell behind and they put me on a payment plan where my payments and intrest went down, what they didn't tell me was that after the 9 months of being on theis plan that all of the intrest that i wasn't paying, would be added onto my account ofter the plan was up. They harassed me on the phone, were extremely rude and they don't speak fluent english so it was even harder to talk with them. So this tax season, i ended up paying them off for 3,394.67 My min payment wasn't covering the intrest or the overlimit charge. my intrest went up to 32.04 % so even making the payment, pluss 10 dollars the limit of my debt kept going higher and higher! They are corrupt, and if anyone want's to start a lawsuit, just e-mail me! I will never do buisness with them, or refer anyone to them, in fact i tell people not to do buisness with them.

I had a $1350 remaining balance for laser hair removal with them. My promotion ended two weeks ago, but I thought it was due at the end of the month. I went to pay the balance in full today and noticed that they tacked on a $620 finance charge! I thought it was a mistake and called them and they said sorry it's deferred interest charges from your original transaction date. I'm going to file a suit/complaint today for unfair practices and usury. I think we should all unite in a class action against them. If you are interested in joining me, please send an email to my personal account: Prsnlily@aol.com

This company has reported a bad debt against me and ruined my credit. They harass me constantly. They financed a course through CBT Direct that I returned within 30 days of receipt over a year ago! I am STILL receiving harassing calls from collection agencies and lawyers. I DO NOT HAVE THE COURSE. I DID NOT TAKE THE COURSE. I RETURNED THE COURSE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF RECEIPT. GE Money Bank needs to go after CBT Direct unless they are part of that rip-off company. The first thing they need to do, though, is remove this claim of a bad debt from my credit history. I had good credit until these people ruined it. I don't have the stupid course and I didn't take it. They need to check their facts. Obviously, from all the complaints listed, I am not their only victim.

One oversight I see from GE Money Banks website is your inability to see your statements and also view when your promotional date will end. All other credit cards allow you to download them. I just see this as one more way GE is trying to get you to pay the interest in full. I just started on a tv i bought, I'll heed all these warnings and make sure I pay in full, early.

I mail a check in the amount of $100.00 to HHGregg to pay a bill, which all of their payments go throught GE Money. When they received the check they electronically debited my bank account for $1000.00 which of course caused a negative balance in my account which in turn cause other checks to be returned. I have contacted GE Money on several occassion about this error. They agree that the error was made and still have not returned me my money. This has been 11 days ago. Each time I called the 1800 # I get a different person and have to explain the situation all over again. I have asked to speak with managers and still no assistant. They are know telling me that they have no idea when I will receive my money back. If anyone knows of someone on the Board of Directors or the CEO's phone number please contact me with that information. I am a single parent and can't afford to wait until they feel like returning my money. They are still getting interest off my money and that is not right. 334/538-3926

After filing complaints with the State of Connecticut DCP, BBB, and attorney general's office, I received yesterday 2 checks from G E MoneyBank. Not only did they finally return my overpayment from 1/4/08, I was also refunded my $15 electronic payment charge.

I would encourage every single person posting feedback to take the time to file complaints with your local Department of Consumer Protection - Banking Division, The Better Business Bureau and your state's attorney general's office.

SEND A WRITTEN COMPLAINT TO G E MONEYBANK - very important - send it certified so that you have a record. Make sure you cc every single agency listed in the paragraph above. Send a copy of that letter every week until you get results. I've used the same process when Jennifer Convertibles refused to provide a refund on a defective couch. After 2 strongly worded letters that had all of the state agencies cc'd, I not only received my refund, but also the delivery charge was refunded and a letter of apology as well.

If you do not complain in writing, nothing will be done. Let your voice be heard so that others may benefit. Shut down GE Moneybank and send 'em packing!

I just submitted a complaint about car repair bills that were financed by GE Money Bank. I forgot to mention that their policy on the back of their statement states that even if the payment is mailed to an incorrect office it will be posted within 5 days. The branch manager of the credit union read them their statement and basically they said they can only post the check if they received it. He read the return receipt to them and they said they did not receive the cashiers check and so it could not have been posted to our account and that is that.

I have the statement that indicated full payment needs to be recieved by 02/08/08 to avoid the finance charges. I did this and was still handed the finance charges. I called and could not get anyone that spoke clear english. I was told that I should have paid the bill on time. I told them that I did and they disagreed. I had the statement in hand and the one from their own web site which showed the due date was the 8th. They stated it was the 3rd. I was told that I could not dispute finance charges so I just needed to pay it. I then asked to speak to a manager, who was of no help either. She did tell me that I could send a letter of dispute, which I did. I got a generic letter in the mail telling me how finace charges are calculated and what I owe. I was told to call the 800 number if I needed further help, which they were not in the first place. Really bad experiences with them. Go elsewhere.

Let's start up a class action against GEMB! Can anyone help me with procedures? This company is worst than the old Mahia, who created a problem, then turned around and offered to protect you from that problem for price. Oh wait! May they aren't so old and outdated, looks like they may have reinvented themselfs in GEMB! GEMB has taken corporate crime to a whole new level. They must be stopped!

My horror stories mirrors everyone elses, so I won't go over it again, just make your self a note to close any open accounts you are not using, all those connected with GEMB, do not open any account with JCPenney, Sears, Lowes, Dilliards or Macy's. Watch your credit report very closely. Maybe we should all get in our cars and tape message boards to the doors about this company and parade arount the different stores involved so we can help stopped further growth of this problem. I personally am copying many of the different complaints from this message board and handing them over the the store managers of my local stores. This make me feel a little better. Maybe I can stand outside these stores and hand out flyers?

I have kinda the same thing going on, I had a rather large dental Bill, so I got a carecredit account in Febuary of 2007 . I pay $1500.00 a month because I only have 18 monthes of interest free. But I have to send 3 money orders of $500.00 each to make that payment, New York money order limit is $500.00. In Sept of 07 I sent 3 money orders for $500.00 each and was only credited with 1,000 not the 1,500.00 I had sent it is now March of 2008 and cannot, for the life of me get them to credit my account the 500.00 that I do have proof of and have sent to them 4 times. I have mailed it, I have faxed it and Ihave called them at least 15 times they are rude and have no clue whats goin on, everytime I call no one knows whats going on and they all say" I dont have any answers for you" so i ask for a supervisor again , dumb, dumb, dumb and rude as they come, as if how dare I ask for what I have coming withProof I might add. They make you crazy and exhausted. You shouldnt have to fight so hard to get them to do the right them, no ones being held accountable there, it 's just pathetic

I just called GE Money Bank and was Rudley hung up on by a bon ya ta named Laura, which is in Ohio. I was upset because everytime I try to get online to view and pay my bill, the system locks me out. I called back and ask to speak to the manager and I am put on hold for a long time. GE Money Bank needs to learn how to treat their customers with RESPECT or else, they will go else where. If you dont take care of your customers, someone else will. Every time when I get a RUDE customer service agent thatis rude with me, I will plaster their name here on this site. Then maybe the company will get the big picture then.

I am in the middle of a nasty fight. I sent them a cashiers check for $1271 to pay off an account. They cashed it and one week later still say they have not received it. "Paul" said he can see the check in the system and that it was credited to the wrong account. He told me to call back 4 days later and that the system would correct itself. Today I called back and spoke with "Sandra". She said they don't take cashiers' checks...even thought they cashed it. The "escalations" manager named Dawn was extremely rude. She hung up the phone. After calling back, I was given another "escalations" manager named Steven who told me that "Sandra' was wrong and that they did take cashier's checks. But he also told me that I would have to go to Bank of America and get a copy of the cashier's check fornt and back and fax it to them. I just did that and they now tell me that it will take 10 to 14 days to rectify the problem...all the while, my payment is due.

They have my money and they are holding it hostage. Their incompetence is amazing.

I have never had an account with GE money, but they claim I owe them money, after calling and waiting on line, [protected], I explained that I was getting billings from a creditor and did not have an account with them.

The person just hung up!

I called back, the guy goes, '"this is antony, can I have your acount number?" I said I needed help. He hung up.

This is not service, this is insulting and rude behavior.

Ditto! to everything you said. Pretty much the same thing happened to me with a 12 month no interest account. I have since paid off and cancelled every account that was managed by GE Money Bank.

I think GE Money bank has the rudest people in the world handling their customer service. I was making my normal payment every month only to find out that they were attaching interest to the account which has made my account fall behind and now they say I am in the rears. I think GE Money is a bogus institution and should be looked into by the attorney general. They are making way too much money off of people . People don't find out until it is too late that they have fallen behind due to interest. Your balance never goes down it continuously goes up.

I personally have several accounts through GE that I have never had any problems with, but I wanted to share some information with those of you that have or will post complaints on here. I personally make all of my payments online via www.geonlineservice.com. Paying online is much more accurate and effective than mailing payments via check. It amazes me that anyone sends checks when you can pay something online the day before or on the day it is due. Not only do you ensure accuracy that a payment is received but you get confirmation. Not one credit card company is as leniant as they used to be. I remember the days when you had a 3 day grace period after the due date before your payment comes late. Every credit card that I presonally have has no grace period which means I either pay it before or on the day it is due or I am assessed a late fee. If you are paying online be sure to read what the time frame is for same day posting. If you don't, then it is your own fault for not reading the guidelines. I see many complaints on here about people not being able to get late fees removed and I am amazed. On one of my accounts I completely forgot to make my very first payment and was assessed a late fee. I simply called in to cardholder services and told them that I never received the bill and they happily credited the late fee. Because of that missed payment I did receive a call from collections and do admit they were rude, but let's face it all collectors are rude no matter what company it is.

The best advice I can give everyone is to "READ YOUR BILLS" and never set up automatic payments. If you let a system automatically pay your bill every month so you don't have to worry about it and mistakes happen, it's your own fault. Stop blaming someone for your laziness.

For those of you that are new to these types of finance programs I encourage you to make sure you understand the details before you agree to a promotion. Keep in mind that most promotions are not interest free. They are in fact deferred interest programs. A 12 month no interest promotion is in fact interest free, unless you miss payments and lose the promotion. A deferred interest promotion only means that during the 12 months interest will accrue but is not due until the 12 months ends or you miss payments and lose the promotion. Also, most people don't realize that your promotional period expires exactly 12 months from the date of purchase (using 12 months as an example) regardless of when your payment due date is. For example: I make a purchase on 3/20/2008 on a 12 month interest free promotion. My monthly payment is due on the 25th of every month. To avoid finance charges I must have the entire balance paid in full by 3/20/2009 even though my payment due date is the 25th. If you read your statements there is a promotional purchase summary that clearly explains all of this.

If you apply for one of these accounts and don't receive a card or bill within 30 days call the business that you made the purchase from. Don't wait until you start getting harrassed by bill collectors to mention that you never received a bill, frankly they don't get paid to care but to collect your money. The company that you made your purchase from can provide you contact numbers to get these situations resolved. Remember, sometimes the reason your promotion is wrong is not because GE is trying to screw you but because the company you purchased from processed the sale incorrectly.

So, with all that being said by no means am I defending GE or any other credit card companies practices. If you truly think about it many of the errors are simply due to our error or human error of customer service reps. We should be petitioning these companies to pay their employees better and bring jobs back to the US so there are less disgruntled employees making a company look bad. Many of you may not realize that the reps we scream at only get paid between $8 and $10 an hour to listen to us ###. Would you care if that's all you got paid? We should put as much effort in to fighting to bring jobs back to this country as we do in these complaints that we write about poor customer service.

These ###s are trying to take me to court now. I had financed tires through GE money and after about a month I never recieved a bill so I tried to find a number to call them and these people are idiots. This is my second go round with these people and on the last loan I had to get a lawyer to get them to mark my account as paid in full. I sent them 3 checks which they claimed they never recieved so meanwhile my account kept building up late fees and interest. What a joke - lets do something about this!

Since GE MoneyBank is such a PAIN to deal with, FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOUR STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL! If enough people do this then something will be done. Until everyone stands up for what is right and quits just shrugging off the illegal activities of these companies, the ABUSE WILL CONTINUE. That is what it took to get GE MoneyBank & HSBC to leave me alone.
