My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Beg, borrow or steal what you owe them at the 1.9% interest rate (less and "fees", unjustified "late charges" or other ### they may tack on), pay them off and be done with it.
You're not dealing with honest people here, therefore you MUST protect your self. And the way to protect yourself is with proof...DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!
Get a cashier's check from your bank. Write your account # and PAID IN FULL in the memo. Take the check to the post office an mail it with a RETURN RECEIPT REQUEST.
Make a copy of and/or save:
1. The check receipt from the bank.
2. The post office return receipt request
3. Bills/invoices
4. Canceled checks you already sent
5. Any correspondence
6. Log of your phone calls (Date, time, who you talked to, what was discussed, whether or not they were rude, whether or not they spoke understandable English, how long you waited, were you disconnected/hung-up on, etc.)
7. Record all telephone conversations.
YOU MUST TELL THEM IT IS BEING RECORDED!
Keep all documentation for seven years.
If they give you any ###, tell them to go right ahead and take you to small claims court. They won't because they will lose.
Have a good night's sleep.
Guess what? Welcome to the new face of the American economy. All banks are doing that now. Your credit sucks, and they don't want to risk putting themselves out there. All of your accounts affect your entire credit score. You get past due on one, it echoes to the others.
So you are upset because they also lowered an account you don't use? Tough, banks cancel accounts if there is no activity within 12-24 months. Your fault.
Now as for the lowering of your account you use, by law they can't charge overlimit fees because of that correction for that month. Now they lowered it enough to stay close to your balance (quite sure of it). Funny thing about a recession where the banks get hit hard...they cut back.
If you think it is false or inaccurate, call the credit bureau and get the information yourself. Obviously your credit is not as hot as you think it is.
GE Moneybank does not even have an office in the US.
There is no bank to make a payment, no local phone number to call. Anyone a customer talks with on the tool free number is in the Phillipines. The operators will tell you anything to shut you up, but they do not do what they say.
I have an account, which is interest free if paid by Dec. 3, 2008. Since opening the account, I have made payments each month of $500, $600, and $700, in order to get the account paid off by Dec. My account balance at the end of Oct. was $700.
A little over a week ago, I made a $21 payment, in order to assure that the minimum monthly payment got there by the due date of Nov. 3, 2008.
I went on line early this morning to see exactly what my balance was, which should have been $679. Instead, my balance was $739.
They said my check was refused at the bank because I had entered a bad account number. I knew the account number was correct because I printed a copy of the check before sending it. My account showed an additional charge of $39. By the way, Annie smith, the operator I spoke with At 8: 35 am EST said she would immediately remove the $39 charge from my account.
After quite a bit of frustration, I went back on line and sent another check for $739. (I figued the $39 charge would remain on my acount so they could say I still had a balance). The last operator I spoke with said my internet check would arrive immediately and would be posted to my account within 24 hours.
Late this afternoon, Friday, October 31, my check had not been posted. If the check is not posted before 5pm EST on Monday, Nov. 3rd, the payment will be late. I feel certsain they will not post my check before that time, because if I am late, they can charge me the total finance charge for the entire loan, which is more than $1600.
When I wrote the second check, I made sure the account numbers were correct, and even had my husband check to make sure before I submitted it.
I hit the submit button and the check appeared again, this time with all but the last four number of the tracking numer and the account number incrypted. I almost hit the submit button the second time, but I noticed that there were not enough of the encryted number in either row. The tracking number and the account number are both 9 digits long. The number of astericks on each line was five, which would have been only eight numbers. I removed the astericks and filled in the correct numbers and then submitted the check. Someone had removed one number in each row to insure that the check would be returned again. Once the check was submiited, they would say I made another error, but I have copies of each transmission.
I feel fairly certain that I will have to obtain a lawyer to get this matter corrected, but since I have copies of everything I have mailed to the company, I have definite proof that the numbers were submitted properly.
These people are a bunch of thieves. I will pay the amount of more than $1600 dollars to a lawyer before I will pay them one more dollar.
They are in for a rude awakening. I write for a newspaper, and I will do more damage to their reputation that they can imagine. I am sending emails to everyone I know, to tell them that J. C. Penny, Belk, Discover Card, Wal-Mart, and many, many other company credit cards are owned by GE Moneybank.
Consumers Beware! Before applying fora credit card, make sure GE Moneybank is not the actual card holder. They charge huge interest rates, late fee, and hender card holders from making apyments on time, just for an excuse to charge extravagant interest rates. Avoid this company like the plague.
I will send another message on Monday to let you know if my payment has been posted before 5pm.
Anybody out there willing to make a wager that the payment has been posted?
I purchased a GE washer model wpe6100g2wt, on 8/17/08. I had to call the repairman on 9/10/08, the machine needed a new motor and transmission. It was replaced10/17/08. Today, 11/1/08, it has started to leak again as before, only now it is spraying water out of the top onto the controls. I would not recommend buying this model, but as long as they want to fix it every month, its there money.
I know its under warrenty, so go ahead and fix it, fix it every month, I bought the extended warrenty for 2 years...According to the invoice I signed to show they fixed it, it would have cost me $250.09. I figure if it breaks every month for the next 3 years it will cost GE $9003.24, this does not include inflation...so GE thanks for the most expensive washer you make!
If you read all the similar complaints, GEMB will never acknowledge or correct their mistakes.
it will always be your fault, you can send proof and they will tell you it was never received.
I opened an account through GE Money for a HH Gregg credit card. I purchased several appliances (all that were "GE" brand). I had a promotion expiring in 9/2008 with about $1, 200 to pay off. In August, I knew I wasn't going to have enough money to cover it so I called and spoke to a customer service rep in India named "Mark" (they are using fake names). I was assured that they would extend my promotion for 6 months. I asked for this in writing and for some reason they are unable to provide documentation (they can't provide anything in writing). So, a few days later I called back and spoke to an Indian female to verify this information. She again, assured me that this information was documented in the "notes" so I felt confident. By the way, their "notes" get erased on a regular basis. So, of course when I got my next statement I had $1, 800 in finance charges. I talked to several supervisors and no one was willing to help. The only thing they offered was to waive half of the finance charges. So, I paid the remaining balance and finance charges so I didn't effect my credit. I still am having problems with where my payments are being applied. I've written to the president of HH Gregg, GE, and GE Money. I recieved a respone in a letter which pretty much avoided the above. So, I recently just sent another letter and I'm waiting for a response. Apparently, they think it's okay to lie and mislead customers. They are not helpful whatsoever and there is no one willing to listen or help. I would record any phone conversations you have with them. They do not want you to do it but it is the only proof you will have. This is a major scam that is going on. Anytime I finance anything again my first question will be who is it through. If it's GE Money you just lost my business.
Even if you did pay it off in time - they would have hit you with the finance charges. Its a scam of theirs. Your last payment always arrives late or lost in the mail.
Forget getting them to fix it - they will not.
File formal complaints with the office of Thrift Supervision and Federal Trade Commission.
Watch you credit reports too - They lost thousands of customer records in Oct 2007, did not publicly report it until Jan 08.
They claim it was located and not accessed, myself I have fraudulent charges and suspicious activity on my account in Dec 07. It was a JCPENNEY card, that I had not used and was not expecting to see a statement, so did not know they were missing.
I was not aware of this until after it was charged off and sold as JUNK DEBT to debt collector. (how convenient of them)
GE Money is a horrible company to deal with. When you call you are hold for a long time. When they do answer, you get someone from India who doesn't speak good enough english to hold a conversation. When you ask to be transferred to a state-side english speaking person they oblige you but you are on hold for a long time. When you finally get the "friendly American" they simply say "NO" and tell you they can't help you. Horrible company to work with. No matter what kind of load you are in need of, go anywhere else. Do NOT use GE MONEY or you will pay ... literally.
I had a 0% 4 year loan. Because of a President's Day holiday my payment was processed one day late. The penaly? 29% interest for the next 30 months plus if you don't pay your newly escalated monthly payment it will cost you a cool $39 for the priviledge.
Just say "NO" to GE MONEY.
FILE COMPLAINT WITH OFFICE OF THRIFT SUPERVISION.
GEMB will not do the right thing for its customers - They will ignore you completely.
GEMB WILL ONLY RESPOND TO COMPLAINTS FILED WITH THE Office of Thrift Supervision.
They completely ignored me and the letters I wrote.
My issue is not quite finished - SO FAR
removed my account from collections and fully re-instated it.
Removed negative postings from Credit Reports
Removed all late fees and interest.
Still claim I purchased a gift card - but conveniently omitted providing the recipient information. I cannot validate the debt if I cannot confirm it was sent to someone I know.
I have notified the OTS that they have not validated the debt correctly.
I agree, in the past weeks! GE money has lowered 3 of my accounts with them, informing they were doing so due to
other credit activity on my credit report. I have paid all of
GE accounts on time and more often then not paid in full. I
don't need their little $100 accounts, one of them at one time
had a $700 credit line one had a $800 credit line. Not only did I receive a letter on each account, they also from what I read pulled credit each time, lowering my foca score each time. Has any one heard of a class action suite being filed? If so please let me know. If not I believe one should be.
GE Moneybank has had a class action lawsuit against them in Jan 2006 for similar circumstances, which was settled in favor of the cardholders. I too, have been having truoble with GEMB these last few months. I believe another class action lawsiut is in order. We need numbers. I hope all of you who have posted problems here will come forward when this lawsuit is started.
I tried calling to see if I could get a temporary lower payment amount for a few months since my husband lost his job and is receiving a substantially lower income. I did not get any results from calling two different numbers. Both people told me that I have to be delinquent first in order to receive any kind of help. Well, I am not late as of today and don't want to be. But come on, every advice I have read or heard says that if you anticipate being in trouble and will have financial difficulties you should call your creditors and hopefully they will help with some sort of plan BEFORE you fall deliquent. And where are the calls going to? INDIA? These people are not trained enough.
I would so appreciate a class action suit against GE Money Bank. I am having the same problems as the rest of you. I have received the same form letter stating the reasons for lowering my limits(eventhough we were not late with payments). The accounts involved with this were Sam's, Dillards, Paypal and I think one other one. I will keep my documents together with the hope of class action. I checked my credit report and could not find anything which could support the letters sent to me when the limits were lowered.
We paid our Sam's through our bank and two payments were posted late. They did agree to remove the charges, but we are now watching them closely and hand-deliver the payment.
Care credit was closed - eventhough we had paid it off prior to time limit. I was planning on using this card in January and am really upset about that. I am also concerned about what all of these reductions in limits, plus the " closed by grantor" will do to my credit.
This whole situation and audacity seems unbelievable to me.
Thanks, one and all, for posting - good to know it is not just me!
Waiting and hoping for class action - this needs to be corrected for the victims of GE Money Bank.
Mine isn't quite as bad as most postings (yet) I'm still at 10 of 12 interest free payments and the balance due this Jan. I'm upset with a payment that was mailed 12 days prior to the due date and not getting credited until 15 days from the day I mailed it? (which actually made the payment 3 over due) Then they just included a $39.99 late fee on my next bill, without any other explanation? I'm sorry but if I spend 40 bucks on penalties I had better get more than a statement claiming I'm liable, how can they prove when they received it anyway?
I'm looking at the Federal Trade Commission's web site and you can file a complaint, as I will after I submit my written rejection of the fee (as if thats really going to do anything!)
i am 73 years old this g e money bank/care credit .i have never been so frestrated, credit co.is an unbelievable operation/and shouid be sued by my state of missouri and the entire united states i am filing with my states attorney general.please all of you file charges with your states attorney general and lets put the crooks out of businessj l o

if anyone has a lawyer to start the proceedings let me know. in the meantime I will start looking.
The internet is a wonderful tool. I thought I was the only one facing a wall of complete incompetence when dealing with GE Money Bank and its minions; PayPal, JCPenneys, Lowes, etc. Everytime I would try to sign in and pay my monthly statements in a timely manner, I was advised the account must re register, conjuring up new passcodes and user names. For several months, no statements ~ however interest charges/fees continued to accrue. I would call GE center in El Paso only to be discouraged even more by rude and degrading staffers advising there is nothing they could do, do you want to make a payment now...interested only in money, not fixing "their" online problems. I have since discouraged anyone I know from dealing with Lowes and PayPal for reasons stated above.
GE Money is totally a scam, I totally financed approx 10 k for a motorcycle, and paid around $2500 already, my balance is still keep increasing, it's more than what I got financed now, which means they charged me $2500 without deduct my loan balance, but put more on my balance. the interests ratio is scary.
I filled E- statement which means stopped the paper bill, but when I log into my online accout this month, it says the statement is not available on line. and my balance increased again after I made the last month payment. I have no idea what my previous was and can not find it from this unavailable E-Statement.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK OR YOU WILL GET HURT LIKE ME!
We've had similar troubles with GE, happen to have a couple cards that wound up being bought or owned by GE. Most recent thing being they have lowered the credit limits on accounts to just within a few dollars of what we owe (less than $400 on each), which of course looks bad on credit that was otherwise very good! When I tried to talk to them about it, foreign lady wouldn't give me info because husband is primary, but I told her she sure has no problem taking payments when I call or a check with my name signed on it. We don't need their accounts, mostly had them to get the perks of the stores (like $10 off coupons, etc) so I'll pay them off and close them -- but then they'll most likely beat us to the punch and close them as they've done to other people, thereby possibly another ding on credit, or they'll act like they never got the final payment like they've done to others. These people are complete bottomfeeders and I can't believe they are allowed to get away with this. I sure hope someone takes up a class action against them and others like them and I hope they all go under after screwing over the customers, apparently they've forgotten they wouldn't have a business if it weren't for us!
Oh, and the latest from GE mentioned "delinquent trade accounts" ? What is that even? I even checked credit reports trying to see what the H they were talking about and there's nothing there and I checked all 3 so I'm totally at a loss over this. It's like they're just making up their own rules and it's completely allowed. They really need to be STOPPED. Now I'm afraid to even try to pay off my accounts because they'll probably just "lose" the last payment. Forgot to say that I've also had trouble logging in online just like others, system down or password not recognized (even though I have it stored and haven't changed it), and crap like that. It also took them nearly 3 weeks to process a payment one account. Ridiculous in this age of computers and instant payments. Total obvious stall tactic.
I have 2 accounts with GE Money Bank I over paid on one account 100 dollars The other account balance was 108.49. I asked that the 100 dollars I overpaid be transferred to the other account for payment. I was told NO PROBLEM. Well when I recieved my bill I was given the same balance with finance charges and late charges. I was told they transferred that 100 dollars of my money to someone elses account! They told me they would fix it. Well they didn't this started in august of 2008 and it is now December. I am put on hold for hours at a time and have spoken to 10 people who are brain dead because they can't seem to correct the problem. I wanted to write to the president but he is obviously to busy to handle his customers or oversee his staff. I see that he has a web site all about himself but no email address to write him. His website states he likes to travel and play golf Maybe that's all he does. As I write this I have been on hold for 40 minutes so far. This is my 11th call!
I tried to pay the $3.000 loan by the due date I missed it by a couple of weeks. They are charging me 19% on the whole $3.000 the payments are going up $20.00 every month If do not pay the$786.00 in interest What can I do about this it is ruining my perfect credit
This institution DOES NOT operate like a reputable bank. I filed a dispute with them back in October 2008. I havee been receiving phone calls and letters that they still want me to pay on the disputed item. They are the credit provider for American Laser Centers. The BIGGEST SCAM out there in the healthcare field. They have now filed with the Credit reporting agencies and it is ruingin my credit. They are a scam and do not care about their customers.
Paid GE money bank in full at their website prior to my 1 yr. The check didnt get cashed because it wasnt a standard checking acct it was a money market. They didnt notify me that the funds didnt get rcvd until 2 mths later! Now Im calling to pay them thinking they were paid and they want me to pay $771 in finance charges and late fees! I even had my financial advisor call them to tell them what happened and they dont care! GE sucks and you need to stay away from them. If there are any class action suite out there I would like to join in on it. I contacted at 12541 sw 143 ln miami, fl 33186
GEMB HAS MAJOR PROCESS PROBLEMS - they deliberately post payments late - so they can pad bills with late fees and interest.
THEY WILL NOT FIX ANY PROBLEMS THEY CREATE and just lie to their customers and ignore complaints.
you have to file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and Office of Thrift Supervision. This is the only way to get them to fix their mistakes.

GE Money Bank sent a letter to our home lowering my credit limit due to a TRW that I did not authorize. It said I was delinquent. I have never been delinquent with them. GE Money Bank holds two of my credit cards. My JC Penney and my PC Richards. It said I was delinquent on my PC Richards within the last twelve months. I haven't used that card in two years. When I called I was told it was based on my credit report. My wife's wasn't touched. I find that odd. Yes we both own different cards but the bulk of our credit is owed together.
I think they are doing this to destroy peoples credit. I think they are doing this to me because I do not use their credit cards enough. Either way They should be stopped. I don't know how to report them.
I would take them to small claims court myself...let them try to justify their actions since they have no documentation.
Tom
The same think happen with me. They send the letter of bill late, and then block you accsses to their webside to avoid you pay in time. The result is easy to imagine: The bank charge you $29.00 late payment and rise your APR. Who won?.
You have to be carefully with this fraudulent bank.
Have several accounts with G.E. Money Bank, some of which were with other companies and then G.E. bought them up. G.E. has lowered the balance on every account without any reason, and with a big increase in pay on my part 3 times the amount that I was making.
They also have done this with no respect to notifying me about what they have done. The accounts have been paid on time and have been paid with more that what is due sometimes by as much as 3-5 times the amount due.
This is not the way to do business
YES THEY HAVE BEEN DOING TO EVERYONE ACROSS THE BOARD
It has nothing to do with your credit rating - they just decided that EVERYONE had to have credit limits lowered
SINCE THEY ARE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY YOU BEFORE IT OCCURS
you can file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission.
I've had the same problems with GE Money Bank! Last year I had a simple tooth extraction done by Sears Family Dental. I opened a Care Credit account with GE Money Bank for later dental work if I ever elected to have it done later. However I paid Sears in cash for the for the tooth extraction and never did have any further dental work done. The next month I got a billing statement from GE Money Bank with a charge applied for $4, 350.00. When I contacted GE Money Bank they gave me the run around, made rude remarks and basically told me to go to **** and then later said they would send me a dispute form within 10 days. I filled it out and mailed it back. The next month they sent another statement still showing $4, 350.00 plus a late fee and a higher amount due. Again I called GE and they claimed no such dispute form was recieved back and that the time limit for me to file a dispute had expired! So I then contacted the Attorney General's Office for the State of Texas. They immediately contacted me and had me explain it more in detail and then they said that they would investigate. 2 days later I got a phone call from the Attorney General's Office in Texas and they stated that GE Money Bank's Corporate Office is located in the State of Kansas and that they would file a complaint with the Attorney General in Kansas. That got the ball rolling! After about a week I got a letter from the Attorney General's Office in Kansas in forming me that GE Money Bank has complied and removed the charge and credited the account. GE Money Bank didn't have the nerve to notify me of the resolvement of the issue or an apology. I encourage anyone who is experiencing problems with GE Money Bank to contact the Kansas Attorney General's Office!
In recent months, GE Money Bank has been sending me my monthly statement later and later. Last month my statement 3 days before the due date which I had no option but to send the payment by overnight express mail. They didn't waste anytime getting notices sent out to customers indicating that they had reduced their credit limit. Since I've had a PayPal Plus credit card, I have never been successful at paying my monthly bill online. Yet, I can see the amount due and when it's due but their screwed up web site won't let me make a payment. Again here it is, my payment is due in 7 days and still no billing statement nor am I able to pay it online. Now they tell me I can pay by phone for a $10.00 fee! Another scam in order to screw a working man in the way the economy is right now. That's another rip off and a scam to cheat consumers out of their money. I pay other bills online with no problem and also by phone with no fee for doing so. Last year I had to have minor dental work done but needed to have more done. Sears Family Dental recommended Care Credit as an option to pay for the later needed dental work. However I paid Sears Family Dental cash for the dental work they did and when I was ready to have the remaining dental work done then I would have GE Money Bank's Care Credit for dental coverage. The dental work was never done mainly due to the cost that Sears wanted. The following month after opening an account with GE Money Bank they sent me a statement for $4, 350.00. I called GE Money Bank disputing the statement for the fact that no such dental work had been done and was not going to be done except the tooth extraction which I paid for out of my own pocket. Therefor I owed them nothing. They were very rude, and nasty use of language and basically told me to go to ****. I called again and asked for a supervisor and she said they would send me a dispute form in about 10 days. After nearly 14 days they claimed that I never requested a dispute form. Nearly 2 weeks later I finally got it and filled it out and mailed it back the same day. 2 weeks later GE Money Bank closes the the dispute process claiming I didn't file a dispute within the time required! Another scam to get $4, 350.00. I called the Attorney General"s Office in Texas and filed a complaint. They investigated and notified me that GE Money Bank's Corporate Office is in Kansas and that they were in fact notifying the Kansas Attorney General's Office and requesting an investigation in regards to GE Money Bank and the $4, 350.00 charge they refused to remove from my account. They got the ball rolling and in less than a week Kansas Attorney General notified me that GE Money Bank has complied with crediting the 4, 350.00. GE Money Bank gave no apology for what they did and it's ashame that I had to go to the Attorney General and force them to take the $4, 350.00 charge off.
I have a GE card through a company I bought eyeglasses from. For the past year and a half I have paid all but one payment on time. This month I went online to make a payment (which is how I pay every month) and the system is requiring me to put in my original email address. I forgot the email so I called customer service. The woman (who barely understood me) said she couldn't tell me my original address. I asked if she could waive the fee for payments over the phone this one time while I tried to resolve the problem. She said no and said, "since you're payment will probably be late just send in a check to the address on the bill." I replied that that is a great idea, but in the year and a half of having this card I haven't received one piece of mail from them EVEN though I have called three times to verify they had the right address.
Long story short... They can call you a million times a day before noon if you're late, but they can't help you pay on time.
So, I had a great experience so far with GE Money Bank. Had the card for 4 months now (credit, low limit). Well, here's the bad part: I get my statement, and pay it right then, on the day it comes out, 3x minimum. (November, payment due Dec 15). Well Dec 16 comes around, and I get a late notice. What? I payed! So I make the minimum payment right away.
I call GE, am on hold for a while, and then a very understanding gentleman, soft spoken, answers the phone. He is patient, courteous, and can see by my records, that I made two payments in one month, but the second still was within the time period for the previous month. He was glad to apply the payment to the correct month and remove the late penalties.
I think I wished him a Merry Christmas.
I had worked out a plan with my dentist to do $21, 000 work to restore my wife's mouth and teeth. The dentist, Dr. Cutbirth, is a wonderful man and his office employs wonderful people. I'm retired Navy and my Tricare Dental -- by the book -- is supposed to cover 60% of these costs. But once the initial payment was made, I only get reimbursments on my wife's check-ups. Bottom line, I am paying most of this payment. Something ain't right, and I will find out what.
Shame on you GE Money.
I have had Care Credit for over 3 years and always paid on time, our obligation was paid off in full an d we had'nt used it for maybe 6-8 months when we got a letter saying our account was closed. I really would like to know why as there was no explanation.
Thank you,
Barbara

Dear Sir/Madam:
This letter is in response to what I consider less than satisfactory “Service” or in my own words Customer “NO SERVICE” I had spoken to someone on the 14th of November and then on the 28th as well, the last person I spoke with was a Mr. James Clark. Mr. Clark was uninformed in questions that I had in terms of who to speak with in the event that I needed to speak to someone other than a Stupidvisor or Supervisor which ever applies. While James was polite I did not care for the attitude of the prior supervisor which I spoke with on what I believe to be the 14th of November who begrudgingly credited my account. The supervisor’s attitude was as if “I ‘am doing you a favor by removing the charge back from the account.”
I have a problem with your billing and accounting procedures so let me be clear and elaborate on what I mean. Your billing department basically bills whenever the hell they feel like it, oh I know what you would attempt to defend, and that is the point about your “Billing Cycles” and how they fall on different days of the month etc., but what this amounts to is extorting extra money from your “patrons.” There are several companies that consider this practice as ethical and yours is one of them. What this amounts to screwing you customers out of money, and charging exorbitant interest rates, which is why I have not paid last months bill, and I will not pay this month’s as well until I get resolution on this issue. Last time I checked I would rather do business with the Mafia.
My points are three fold, one is that ALL my other accounts bill out on the same day same time and are consistent month after month after month, regardless of their “Billing Cycle” therefore I am not late paying my OTHER bills. Point number two is that I find nowhere in your “Disclosure” or terms of “Service” that you can be arbitrary in choosing whatever date you feel you wish to select for this month or the next. You were originally billing out on the 16th of every month consistently but that all changed, I have all my past invoices to prove my point. I have made best efforts to be consistent and on time every month but I don’t have the same type of reciprocity from your company.

I have had my wife systematically go through all the statements I have to see what the billing cycles and dates have been, so listed below are what I believe to be accurate facts. I was given more grief from one of your so called “Client reps” that stated that I needed to “Check with my bank” which is a bunch of crap. My third point is (A PHONE CALL.) ALL OF THE FINANCIAL IMPACT ON BOTH SIDES COULD HAVE BEEEN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED OR ELIMINATED, IF I JUST HAD A SIMPLE CALL FROM ONE OF YOUR “CUSTOMER NO SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES.” BUT THAT NEVER HAPPENED!
I used YOUR WEB SITE YOUR INFORMATION, FOR WHICH I HAVE A COPY OF. I FURTHER DID CHECK WITH MY BANK AND DID DISCOVER THAT PAYMENT FOR 14.83 DID IN FACT GO THROUGH, AND ACCORDING TO MY WIFE, OTHER PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN CREDITED TO THIS ACCOUNT USING THE SAME INFORMATION ON YOUR WEB SITE. The same billing data was used for the last several months nothing has changed but yet this is now “MY PROBLEM” so I am forced to write this rather lengthy letter to prove a point. My time is valuable so I will have a Solution for you at the end of this communication. The payment history my wife researched has been listed below along with her own comments. On November 14th I also made an attempt to settle the debt by making two separate payments of 350.00 dollars each, which at that time was just about in the 750.00 dollar range as I recall, but your “Representative” did not take the deal that I was offering by adjusting the amount, and taking the money while he had the opportunity. He mentioned something to me about “Company Policy.” Apparently he was too stupid to figure out that he would be well advised to get a Stupidvisor to help him with this “Problem.”
On September 13th, 2008 I made the ON LINE PAYMENT for the amount of $60.00 through GEONLINE SERVICE for the balance due $663.06 and the due date is on September 15th. But instead of the amount of my Bill reducing in capacity, it kept increasing and went from $ 663.06 to 753.83, and after I called the customer service, he said that GEMONEY CAN NOT PROCESS MY PAYMENT.
Then, on October 15th and 16th I made another payment for the amount of $ 100.00 and $ 14.83 by using the same account number that I used for the previous payment, and it turn out the payment worked and I was informed that my new balance is $652.12.
Because I know “generally” that my due date is on 16th, then on November 14th I tried to make another payment to avoid THE LATE FEE, then the date changed to the 13? WHAT IS THIS? What kind of scam are you trying to pull?
CERTIFIED LETTER # [protected]-2152
Before I made the payment, I checked my account on GEONLINE SERVICE, then again and again I found the same old scam, the same old Bull, my balance is not $652.12 as I was informed, but $800++.
After I called the customer service on the same day, I was informed that I was late by one day because the due date had changed to November 13th.
My solution includes the following;
1. From the last amount which was about $600.00 dollars plus or minus, plus my time to correct this aberration, I am willing to settle with you for 60% of the 600.00 dollars because of reasons stated. What I owed on this account would have been cleared off the books by now, had your web page worked correctly or there were no data processing errors. Most other credible company’s take credit cards as a form of payment, and can be verified almost within seconds which brings me to the question of “Why Don’t You?”
2. I want any or all derogatory’(s) that may have been reported on my credit removed, along with a statement from a “responsible” person who has the authority to make such decisions, and let the record show “Paid as agreed” be reflected on my credit history.
If for some reason I feel that you are blowing me off, or you do not wish to negotiate a fair settlement, I may be in fact liable to consider further action. I will allow you to use your imagination in regards to what this may mean. I will also consider bringing this information to others who may consider use of your company to finance anything.
I would expect to hear from you within 15 days of sending this letter to you, which should be a reasonable length of time to respond.
Regards,

I understand that GE Money Bank operates the credit cards for JC Penney, well on 1/22/09 I receive a letter in the mail from GE Money Back regarding my JC Penney card, telling me that they are lowering my credit limit. I have had my JC Penney card for a long time in which I have never missed a payment, been late with a payment, worked my way up from a standard card to gold to platinum, no high balacnces, in fact the day before I received the letter I wrote a check paying off the current balance. After receiving the letter I contacted the JC Penney customer service, they told me that they had nothing to do with this matter, it come from GE Money Bank. Well told them that as far as I am concerned after being a customer for 30 yrs I cut up my card they can close my account and that I will never set foot in a JC Penney store ever again.

Since I am one of many out of work because of Congress's handling of the bank situation, I called GE Money Bank to see if I could get a reduction in my interest rate so I wouldn't have to pay so much monthly. I wasn't asking for anything else. The representative in India or Pakistan or wherever the hell he is denied my request and told me that if I didn't pay over $600. immediately, he was going to ruin my credit. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he hung up on me. Leaving me with a deadline. I called back and got the same "customer service " from another representative. A hang up. Is this the way GE Money Bank does business? I will never borrow from GE Money Bank and suggest the same to everyone else.
I opened an account with GE for my eye surgery, 18 month same as cash with the understanding that my payments were do the middle of the month, so I made sure to get my payments out between the 6th and 11th depending on where my payday fell, The next thing I know is that I'm getting a call from them stating that me payment is past do. So, I contact them only to find out that my payments were do by the 5th of each month and I have already accrued three late payment charges of 39.95 a piece, needless to say I was not happy, as they explained to me that all of their accounts are do by the 5th of each month unless requested to be changed. After talking with a supervisor and pleading my case they remove my last late charge but wouldn't budge on the other two. I close my account and request my payments be moved to the middle of the month, but they sent me a letter stating, do to my account standing my request was refused
This company could use some training in ethical principles in business. Yes, the interest free is how they lure you in and then they stick it to you every chance they get.
