claims adjuster
On Feb. 3, 2019 my RV was broken into claim # [protected] and there is a police report with a supplement report. 1 person was arrested during the robbery. And there was another person being a look out. But according to the claims adjuster, since 1 person was arrested nothing was stolen. It is possible to have matching keys to RV storage spaces. There are only 4 or 5 manufactures to these locks.
Why do we have insurance if our insurance won't pay for our stolen items? We (consumers) pay these companies to protect our personal things, but won't pay when they go missing or stolen.
mishandling of claim/ bad faith
Feb 25 2019- My child was t-boned at an intersection. Geico's underage minor driver turned left into the driver side of our car. Our daughter had right of way. They claim 50/50 however the facts of the accident and the police report and witness verify their driver is 100% at fault. I spoke with the adjuster Ms. Williams and her supervisor. They are now not returning any of my calls. I expect the common courtesy of meditation as the next step. I expect to have my car repaired in full and have a rental provided to me while the car is in the shop. It is unacceptable and unprofessional to not return any phone calls. I request the claim be paid in full and a rental be provided to me.

I am currently experiencing exactly the same exact thing with Geico. They did not review my claim with all facts presented. They decided that no one was at fault, when clearly it was my right of way! Additionally, my adjuster, Christina Link, doesn't respond to my calls at all! I'm hoping her supervisor Katie Craig, reviews my claim thoroughly, the facts i have provided and the fact that they other party has changed their statements 3 times! I really hope they come back with a fair decision.
auto claim
My daughter was involved in an accident with a Geico insured driver (26 March 2019). It occurred on a two lane highway (coming and going). She was making a left turn when the geico driver decided pass her on the left (not a passing lane) while she was in the middle of the turn and hit her car. She recorded a video with him admitting fault. She took a picture of his drivers liscence, his auto insurance card, his car damage and the damage he inflicted to her car. The Geico insurer called in the accident (27 March 2019) to geico just to inform them he was involved in a auto accident and said he sustained damage to his car. But not the damage that my daughter took a picture of. He never asked for my daughters insurance info or any other basic info a person would ask for when involved in an auto accident. Geico didnt get a recoreded indepth interview from him. My daughter called the accident in the following day. Now mind you they didn't bother to get a recoreded interview from him, but they asked for one from my daughter. She gave them the interview (27 March 2019). A few days later they called us and said that they were giving a 50-50 fault decision. They said there driver was wrong because he made an illegal pass and blamed my daughter because she should of saw him making the pass. How can you be at fault, if you are hit in the middle of your turn? We have provided a recorded interview, pictures of damage to both cars and we have a video of him verbally taking responsibility. Some key points to remember: when he called in, he gave inaccuarate information, he never asked or requested any information from my daughter, and GEICO IS UNABLE TO GET HIM TO RETURN ANY OF THEIR PHONE CALLS. Also, we reported the incident to our insurance company and they called him and got him on the phone and he verbally denied being at the scene and said they were calling the wrong person. I left voice messages (2) to speak with Geico manager (Poway, CA) and didn't receive a return call back. So after a week and a half, I tried the calling the corporate office and informed the person on the phone that I was trying to speak with a supervisor. So she transferred me to the manager I had already left two messages with. She got on the phone and they stood by there decision. I asked her how can they have us at fault when their driver has yet to give an interview, but he conveniently called in and reported it, but no interview was conducted. Shady. I need to speak with someone important, because this is NOT RIGHT.
His car is the picture with silver picture.
Our car is the picture with white Kia picture.
claim number is [protected]
I want justice. I want them to accept full responsibility. The evidence speaks for itself.
motorcycle accident
I was hit by a car going the same way on the highway my bike was in his rear passenger door. He obviously failed to check his blind spot, its dark February 14 2015 the car drove to the next exit and stopped instead of stopping and putting on hazard lights. I lost my arm, leg, ruptured aorta, ruptured spleen, 144 units of blood. The officer went on vacation before doing the police report. Geico and State Farm went to arbitration while I was still on a breathing tube. Somehow I got my bike payed off but I was told that I couldn't do anything about it because they had already made a decision on it. By time i was off the breathing tube they had my case closed and when I tried to ask what about my medical bills I can't work i lost my house i am permanently disabled I lost my job in the oil field. No one would call me back or answer why I didn't get any reimbursement for my pain and suffering lost job lost body parts. Why was I the one left with everything. How did y'all let State Farm screw me and why did y'all take my recording while I was under the influence of heavy pain medication. Someone Please Give me some help do I need my own lawyer for a response
claims adjuster
My car was damaged by a dump truck (Buck & Sons out of Woodland, WA) - losing part of its unsecured load of dirt & rocks onto my car while on the freeway. I was traveling at 70 mph as was the dump truck. The speed limit for the dump truck is 60 mph. The driver of the dump truck was on a cell phone. I got the information from the side of the truck and called 911 as it drove off as if nothing happened. I also filed a police report.
GEICO, my insurance company, is covering the claim under my PIP plan, relating they eventually plan to go after the construction company to recoup their losses.
GEICO's estimate of repair undervalues my vehicle (claiming its value is 40-50% of the actual market value) and then refused to look at the estimates of value from car dealerships that sell similar or the same age, mileage, make & model. They also refused to give adequate valuing of the top end engine rebuild, new water pump, timing belt, lifetime brakes (300k miles left on the warranty), etc. all done recently. The vehicle has had one owner and is in excellent mechanical shape.
GEICO adjuster totaled my care based on a one bent clip on the airbag cover (a plastic piece on the dashboard) saying the entire airbag system had to be replaced (giving an inflated estimate to replace it). WTH!
GEICO adjuster, Victoria's report seemed very fishy to me, so I started doing my own research. I went to dealerships to compare apples to apples instead of the apples to pineapples comparison GEICO is doing. I contacted the owners of the "comparable" cars GEICO listed from Craig's List and such. None of the cars were in the same mechanical shape and some have more than 200k. In order to get a replacement car into the same mechanical condition my car is in, I would have to take it in and have, at the minimum, the top end of the engine rebuilt. This would cost me around $3000. The additional work was not even factored into the additional expenses. When I mentioned this to the adjuster I was told that I don't know that the cars would need the additional work - but I do because I really did my research not just printing of clickbait from the internet. Based on my research, the actual value of my vehicle was $3000+ more than what GEICO claimed.
I then took my car into three additional shops for independent evaluations of the damage (2 dealerships and 1 specialty repair shop). All of them agreed there is nothing wrong with the parts in question that GEICO claimed needed to be replaced: the car only needs the dings in the paint repaired. One of the dealership shops gave me a signed statement that the car was NOT damaged like the estimate said.
Basically, GEICO was totaling my car for nothing! This is fraud! I am still fighting with them about fixing the rock chips on the hood, roof and passenger side (the only parts damaged). There was no damage to the airbag as it NEVER deployed.
They took back my rental car even though my car was still in the shop waiting to be repaired (I have 30 days of rental car coverage at $50/day or $1500). I was on day 13 and only using $30/day so I had many more days available. This left me without transportation.
don't trust geico
After 20+ years of using GEICO, never late on a payment, nearly perfect driving record, excellent credit, I get a call from GEICO telling me I have until April 9, 2019 to find new insurance as my son is not living in my home but on my policy! He is 33, near perfect driving record and yes he was on my policy. No, we will separate the two policies and give you each a quote, just find new insurance. Great customer loyality GEICO. I have found a new policy which I will sign tomorrow. I will make it my job to inform everyone on the internet not to sign with GEICO.
customer service
Got into an accident with a Geico covered driver. He claims I turned right into him from center lane while he was in right lane.
Actual story: we were both in right lane with him behind but he tried to get ahead of me by getting onto right shoulder to speed ahead. Unfortunately he didn't see there was already someone sitting on the shoulder until too late so to avoid directly rear ending THAT driver, he turns left into me.
Police arrived to take report with one officer taking statements from other driver and her partner getting my statements.
When I went to pick up police report, I saw none of my statements were on it so I proceed to get report amended.
The bad (Very bad):
J. Toscano (adjuster) calls me a few days later to tell me Geico is denying culpability based on (erroneous) police report.
I tell him I have pictures of incident and damage which buttress my perspective as well as a statement from the driver sitting on shoulder that states he was hit from behind from by his client.
Toscano proceeds to tell me "pictures don't prove anything" (Really? Any legitimate investigator would beg to differ) and begins to question my integrity by asking if I can prove what's stated on the report is not accurate.
He then finally states that "he's heard this from a thousand other claims" and that he's not interested in having this conversation with me. Then why did you even bother to call?
Shouldn't each case be judged on its own merit? Unbelievably dismissive and unprofessional.
I filed a complaint with his management and expected it to be swept under the rug.
Note: GEICO… You spend a ton of money on silly cavemen commercials to garner goodwill and ultimately additional business. In the age of social media, 1 or 2 complaints or horror stories can become viral and take that money and flush it down the toilet.
The Good:
I received a call from T. Portanova who apparently is in the management chain. We had a very good conversation with opportunity from both sides to express our respective viewpoints. I explained that the only thing I wanted was for my voice to be heard in the process which it wasn't because of the erroneous police report. To his credit, he listened and agreed with me where appropriate and disagreed respectfully when appropriate. Bottom line: he agreed that all my statements as well as any pictures should be part of the process and not be summarily dismissed. Kudos to Mr. Portanova
Bottom line: I canceled an existing policy I had with Geico and have spoken to 3 other friends who are also Geico clients. They are now looking to cancel their policies and will speak to their friends and family about doing the same.
I commend Mr. Portanova for his intervention but the actions of J. Toscano was a bridge too far.
Conversely, my insurance company: "The Hartford" has been a paragon of professionalism and efficiency during this entire regrettable process
my payment was increased incorrectly
I received email letter from Geico that my address not correct, and they could not send me letter. I don't know what was happened and my address was changed. Actually I did not change my address, I living here from July 2017, but customer service didn't want decide my problem, they just increased my payment because it's my policy rules. It's not my fault that happened mistake in the system!
auto insurance
My truck, Ford F350 4WD Diesel, was taken for a joy ride from the parking area at a large Equestrian facility in Eugene, OR. I carried full coverage including, liability, collision, comprehensive, uninsured motorist, personal injury, and roadside.
The truck was abandoned in a field stuck in the mud about 2 miles from where it was taken.
When the cops were called they had it towed out of the field and impounded. I discovered the truck missing 2 days later and when I located the truck at a towing company the bill was over $1000 and the truck was very muddy and I could not tell if it had been hurt but the part I could see looked O.K.
I called Geico to file a claim. Geico asked if the truck was damaged, I told them I could not tell because of the mud but the upper part of the cab looks O.K. just the mirror was broke.
A few weeks later I received a letter in the mail denying my claim because the claim was less than the $500 deductible.
The towing bill now over $2000 was not covered even though Geico had a contract with the towing company as their primary roadside assistance contractor.
Turns out the truck had severe undercarriage damage. The 4WD was destroyed and the diesel had been over-revved and damaged.
In the mean-time the towing company had removed all contents including the tool boxes, winch all my straps and chains and tools locked in the cab.
More letters and calls to Geico became surreal because they claimed I had destroyed my own truck. On the police report under driver they had put my name.
Because the original call to the adjuster ended up contorting my statement to say "there was no damage" I insist on communication in writing but they refuse.
Geico is horrible at customer service and every adjuster I have ever dealt with is an absolute compulsive liar.
auto insurance
I was involved in an auto accident o 6/9/18. I contacted Geico and wa assigned a claim and an adjuster examined the car, which (black volvo s60) was totaled. A couple of weeks later, Geico had th car towed from my home. I purchsed a new car in July 2018(red volvo s60) . While in the dealership, Geico was called and I requested to have my insurance transferred to th enew auto. In august 2018, I received a letter from my credit union requeting my insurance policy documents. I called Geico and requested to have th documents faxd to FLorida Central. Later in August I receied an email from my lender indicating that insurance was being placed on my new car due to no proof of insurance. THE insurance thaT WAS FAXED CONTAINED THE VIN FOR HE OLDER BLACK VOLVO THAT HAD BEEN TOTALED AND RETRIEVED BY gEICO'S TOWING SERVIC.
I have been a custmer of GEico for the past 13 year and have had no issues with insuranceB ing ransferred via phone. Feb 4, 2019 I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM the DMV indicating that my license and registration were susspended due to laCk of insurane. I was totally surprised, since I felt confIdent that geico transferred the insurance to the new automobile. I called Geico on Feb 5 to expalin the situation and the response waS that there was no record that I had called to have the insurance transferred. they alos indicated that I was paying insurance, but on the car tha had been totaled based on the vin number. On that day, they changed the Vin number on my Policy, with no aplogy for this mistake which I am certain was made by Geico. THen they decied to make an entry in the system to cover up the mistake by stating that I never called to have the insurance transferred t the new automobile until FEb 5.
Meanwhile, I have to get t a DMV office to have my registration/livense reinstated. Eico has been collectin insurance from me sice July on an automobile that has been in their possession...this is fradulent. their claims systme should have laged this and triggered something on the customer service side to prevent funds from being collected on an uto that I NO LONGER OWNED. gEICO'S CUSTOMER SERVICE agents coinued to insist that I did nor hae the trnsfer done, which I refute. What happened to all of th funds hat i have been paying on a defunct auto? they should have beeen refunded or applied to the correct auto. AT this juncture, If eel that legal action needs to be taken against Geico and and a criminal investigation is in order. WHen I asked which cr the inurnce pyments were being applied to, they finally admitted to the old black volvo. I have never had a license or registration suspended for any reason in th past, but this is th fault of someone at Greico who failed to follow through . At this point, I believe i should pursue another insuranc company, which i hat to do since I've had good luck eith Geio for the past 13 years.
insurance claim
My daughter and I were at a 4-way stop. After I stopped and then proceeded through a truck ran through their stop sign (to my right) and hit my car. The truck driver said "Sorry, I didn't see you." I called 911 and was told to swap insurance because there would not be police to respond since there was no injuries to report. The next day the truck drivers insurance company called to report that they would only pay 30% and when I complained about it I was told there was nothing that could be done because
my Geico representative (Jack @ 425-981-1545) had agreed to it. I called Jack and was told "You are lucky to be getting 30% because he was on the right and had the right of way." Did the law change? Do people on the right not have to stop at the stop sign? I've never felt more victimized than I do now. I have three cars and my home insured through Geico/Liberty Mutual. This makes me sick!
Geico Roadside Assistance and lack of communication and apology
BEWARE OF GEICO, THEIR SO-CALLED "EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE", AND THEIR LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE
Once again Geico lied to me. In 12 months, and over ten complaints no one from Geico has returned my call. I tried complaining to their corporation, but they direct you to customer service.
If this is how they treat their long-term clients, what can you expect?
Choose another insurance company that at the very least will address complaints. Geico obviously does not care about their clients, nor about improving their performance.

December 21, 2018
My mother and I have been clients/customers of Geico for 47 years. Until the last year we have always believed that Geico cared about its customers and service. It appears that is no longer the case.
I have paid for Geico's so-called emergency road service, not for years but decades. During that course of time I believe I used this "service" four times. Three years ago I needed it on a Friday afternoon. Their representative could barely speak English, and could not understand I needed help on Fleet Street. After over an hour I called back and was told the Geico service went instead to Haven Street. He could not tell me why he was misdirected. Does Haven Street sound like Fleet Street? Consequently, I had to wait for nearly two hours for service.
Last December, I was in Fells Point, Baltimore, and had a 8:30 appointment. Arriving at my car about 8 pm, my car would not start. I needed a very simple battery jump start. I do not own a cell phone, nor do I want one. Consequently, I borrowed a phone from a young lady waiting for her boyfriend. She was very kind and patient, because once again I was connected to someone with
Geico who could not speak English. He could not understand Fell Street where my car was. I had to repeat this at least 10 times. Naturally, I had to apologize to the girl for this call which took about 17 minutes. Great service! After waiting for one hour and fifteen minutes I walked to a bar, and began asking people if they had jumper cables. Finally I found someone who would interrupt his Friday night, and drive to assist me, which he did. I gave him $20 for his help.
Over the last 12 months, I have made many calls to complain about your lack of service. Despite many repeated promises, including four in the last two weeks, I have yet to even receive the courtesy of a return call, much less an apology or compensation for my decades of wasted service.
It is pitiful the way Geico has treated me. I can only expect that many others have suffered with their so-called emergency road service. I did tell Geico that should I not receive an explanation, an apology, and compensation I will post this review to Pissedconsumer.com, [redacted].com, Complaintsboard.com, Scamguard and another 6 sites or so. I will do everything in my power as a consumer to alert the public how I have been treated, and then ignored.
racial discrimination and false pretenses by investigator brian
On December 7th 2018 at approximately 1:30 to 2:30 PMI was approached by Brian from Geico who simply stated I am Brian for Geico being that I have put in the claim I was told that they would send out an insurance adjuster to check out mr. Renaldo Martinez vehicle mister raynaldo and Brian approach me Brian stated he was Brian from GEICO and could he asked...

I switched my auto insurance from Geico to another insurer effective 11/15/18. I prepaid the insurance for 6 months with the new carrier. I switched because Geico continued to raise my monthly premium despite making no claims in my time with them. They stated it was their 'experience rating.' Experience with what? Not with my policy which never had a claim. I was led to believe that my new company would inform Geico of my new coverage but, apparently, I was mistaken. Anyway, I went to my Geico policy online in an attempt to cancel future auto-payments but that is not possible. The only options you have on the webpage is to alter the number of installment payments but not to cancel the policy. I spoke to a customer service rep who emailed me confirmation of my request to cancel coverage. I have not seen the refund of the last premium for the period of 11/15 to 12/14/18 as of this date. In response to my email, Geico stated, "The refund of $xxx.xx is being reviewed for a possible refund within the next 14 days if not sooner." Banks clear funds faster than that! Why does Geico hold onto your money for such a time before refunding it? Could it be they earn interest on the funds held until they decide to refund them. Will think seriously of ever going back to Geico for my insurance needs.
auto
Want to remove my daughter from my Auto policy with Geico.
She is a full time student
Living in a dorm
Has he own car and insurance
Geico finally accepted the "Proof of Insurance" and dropped her from the policy. But continues to bill me the same amount !
They need "Proof of Employment" SHE IS A FULL TIME STUDENT!
They need "Proof of Residency" There is no such thing! SHE LIVES IN A DORM IN COLLEGE!
Geico is forcing me to pay twice for her insurance! or - Go to Progressive!
Nobody will even discuss it with me!
They say its just their Policy!
an insured geico driver complaint
Theresa Welch [protected].Hit my parked car.I called her in.company, they said yes she is their client. She did come in and report that she hit a car out on private property, my place of employment.Parked in employee parking space.Upon further looking i said that's my car I've had for one day.Total negligence.Within one day of reporting this they close case saying she had a lasp in coverage and won't pay and closed the case basically within24 hrs.As if I'm at fault.I sent2copys of estimates lowest is1668.00 to her and were undeliverable address certified mail. Then to find out she had a p.o.box, and told me take her to court as I have to pay to do that.I was at no fault what so ever, she's trying to buy time i guess as she stated that could take years.I find that utterly brazen as she said she had insurance through Geico. And still comes in my work place as if nothing happened.Took pictures of damages and her licence plate.I'm an elderly lady and can't believe such disregard the way she hit my car was total neglect of not watching how your driving at all.And by the way her car is fixed.Mine still damaged so I might add Geico to that Lawsuit.I've gave her two months to comply, as she said she would make payment, Then now she said take her to court then.Who does that.Very disrespectful.
auto claim
I filed a auto accident claim [protected], I told my car to 1 of geico auto centers. Baugh at which time I was told by the Geico Adjuster that they do not work on aftermarket parts. Which was on my car at the date of purchase. I asked if he knew a shop that do and he responded back with "no". But you can find a place that will of your choice. I then went by Bruces Super auto shop and was told by them they do work on aftermarket part and could repair my car. After everything was paid along with my deductible, The manager at Bruces showed me the car and said that his technician was not able to get the front kit on properly all the way. I contacted geico and now is being told its not their responsibility since they already paid bruces and I needed to contact bruces myself since I chose to use them instead of a geico preferred shop. This whole ordeal has been quite a hardship and very sad experience. Being a retired disable vet and good customer with geico I expected better service and treatment. Both adjusters that I spoke with were highly unprofessional along with the last geico representative I spoke with on the phone sighing as if I was getting on her nevers with my questions and displease of this service. All this being said I think its better if I took my Insurance business somewhere other then geico.
auto insurance - remove one of insured party
I'm with Geico for 12 years on my auto insurance. This summer, I add my daughter to the insurance policy as she got her driver's license. Didn't know this is the beginning of all the troubles.
When she left for college which is over 600 miles away, I requested to remove her from policy as she won't back home till next summer, I encountered all kinds of issues.
1st option, according to Geico policy, I can remove her if I can provide proof that she is away, unfortunately I can't provide utility bills as she lives in dorm.
2nd option, according to agent, I can submit a form to officially remove her from the policy, I requested the form multiple times (through at least 4 calls) and finally received it. Faxed back all requested, waited for more than 1.5 months for the credit back to my account. Nothing happened. Called again, the agent told me the 2nd option is not true! So I was fooling around for almost 2 months.
The service level is way under par, I was lucky I didn't have any accident to deal with claim processes like others. Done with Geico!
claims/auto adjuster
If you need insurance just because its a law get Geico. If you need insurance because you need a company to be a great advocate for you do not pay for this service. My most recent experience was awful. My car was in a flood and my insurance adjuster's (plural because this includes two managers above my original adjuster) was rude and not helpful at all. They told my mechanic what to fix on my car instead of telling my mechanic to check the car and fix what needs to be fixed. (I know they are not mechanics) They did not communicate with me at all about my claims. They stated that it was not their job to inform me of information about the car and situation, but that it is the auto shops job. The higher up manager was so rude that she noted on the account that I did not want to communicate with her. At what point does a person whose car was in a flood not want to speak to their insurance company. She informed me that she would be in meetings all day and that she would not be able to speak to me anymore regarding my car. After that, she disconnected and when I and the mechanic tried contacting her she refused to reply via text message or phone. Now I'm not a rocket scientist but whether your in a meeting or not you can text or simply step out to help your customers. (that is your job to make sure your customers are receiving excellent service.)
release of accident to an ex of 15 years
My ex called geico to inquire about his rate increase. They first told him that it was due to his wife having an accident. We have separate accounts since the divorce and I have my maiden name. When he said he has been divorced for 15 years she came back from "looking into this information " and gave another reason... I called them and asked why they were giving him this information and that I wasn't in an accident my daughter was in the accident with the vehicle on my account, the vehicle was not even owned by myself until well after the divorce. They told me that it was an unfortunate accident. I asked them to pull up his account to find why they have, for the second time released my information to him, they refused to even pull it up. I didn't want information, I just wanted them to look to make sure there was no connection. Refusals are all I got. I have been with geico for over 25 years and will be canceling and going with another company. Can anyone tell me if this is a legal matter?
