Complaint Summary
I do not understand the outcome of my Collision. We were both backing out of our parking space opposite each other. I looked in my backup camera and no one was moving. I was backing out slowly looking to my left and right for oncoming cars. I was hit on my back bumper. She must have been backing out fast since she was not moving when I started to back out. She said she saw me backing up but she did not stop. She said she was in a hurry to get somewhere. No damage to my car but she claimed damage to her. It could have been there maybe from a prior collision. I was told it is a 50 50 collision and each insurance company would pay for the damage incurred. Now I am told that the claim went to arbitration and they said I was at fault. My premium went from 904 to 1563 every 6 months. This would be 3126 per year. The claim on the other car was $1,649. I am also put into a lower tier for 3 years which increases my premiums.
Desired Resolution
Am I paying for the damage to her car when it should have been a no-fault collision. I thought this is why I have insurance, to cover the cost of a collision. If I have to pay for damages on a backup collision out of a parking spot, why have insurance? Why did my insurance jump so high and what can I do to get it reduced? How long will this excessive premium last? I have been with Geico for 9 years. Resolution - increase my premium by 50 to 100 dollars - not 1250 dollars per year.
Desired outcome: Resolution - increase my premium by 50 to 100 dollars - not 1250 dollars per year.
I have been a Geico customer for over 20 years. My policy keeps going up even though I have a good driving record. Because of inflation and a recent unemployment - I asked for a 1-day extension for them not to cancel my policy. Geico would not give me a 1-day extension but asked if there was someone who could help me pay my premium. Really Geico. Have you gotten to be so big that you cannot provide good customer service? It is time for me to change insurance. Not very good customer service Geico. Most companies work with their customers during these hard time!
Seriously. I feel like they stole my money and ran. I used to think they were very customer friendly as they helped me and always lowered my rates. The past year or so they have gone downhill fast. I also see lots of other complaints about them on here. Very disappointing. Now I have to find an insurance company that actually cares about keeping customers and not just stealing money.
Try another company they screwed me over and have been with them for 13 years. AAA is a much better company then GEICO. They raised me again and that was enough for me no accident no nothing and they ripped me off.
I changed to AAA if that helps anybody much better company to deal with. GEICO is out to get Florida if you live here get another company to cover you and kick them to the street.
