International licence
I very recently, as of last week had a policy with Geico, given I no longer had the vehicle I cancelled the insurance last week not understanding that it would affect me ability to get further insurance from Geico due to my international license. This was not explained by the agent when the policy was cancelled.
The reason for my complaint is because I was told that I could drive on my international license, and I could be insured, I was told this only very recently, actually two or three times in the last month by the customer service agents and by the underwriting department who I had previously explained that I have current sponsorship papers with The Department of Immigration. However, with my cancelled insurance and with trying to secure new insurance for a vehicle I was advised today that giving me insurance is at their discretion and now because I don't hold a Texas driver's license but an international license, they will not insure me as I'm no longer under contract.
It seems that the information changes with each different agent I speak with, if I was told if I cancelled my insurance, it would affect getting another policy, I would never have done that, it makes no sense for me to have cancelled, I cancelled because I was not told this would be the case and because previously, I was advised that having an international ongoing license is acceptable.
Also, the customer agent I spoke to, when I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager told she me there was no one available (she was lying), she also told me my number could not be passed on and that she was concluding the call. She was rude and disrespectful to me. When I hung up, I called back and spoke to the manager who said she would pass on my information to the underwriting department, so the first customer agent who dealt with me was lying. Her employee number is U74NiR. It is unacceptable to deal with people in this way. If I was not satisfied due to the conflicting information and asked to speak to a manager either at that time or for a call back, it's not ok to say I'm hanging up or concluding the call.
Please can you assist me with moving forward with insurance.
Thank you
Desired outcome: I would like to take out auto insurance and have the agreed arrangement in place that when my sponsorship is approved, I will obtain a Texas license, this is what I believed was in place.
Auto insurance claim
I got in a car accident, reported property damage and diminished value. communication was horrible, 3 weeks until I got my car finally fixed. Now it's been three weeks and I am trying to just get an update on my diminished value claim! I was able to talk to my adjuster 2 weeks ago, supposably she is going to get me an answer in 24 hours, I don't know if she means 24 days tho lol
Unbelievable handling of a basic situation - account payable!
I am filling a complaint as Geico is not taking responsibility for their mistake and not paying $252.48 due after cancelling my auto policy.
On July 1st 2022 I cancelled my Auto Policy with a balance of $252.48 due. to me.
I asked for a check as the bank account and card on file were comprised and had been closed end of June 2022.
I called twice to ask where my check was. Was told "on its way" "in the mail"
For some reason...
August 5th. 2022, Geico sent a transfer/payment to the card on file - to a closed account and card! again account was closed since June 2022 and didn't exist!
A whole month went by and the check was never in the mail.
Chase bank didn't receive the money. My bank account was closed end of July.
Geico set the money to the vacuum, so they didn't get it back and are since refusing to cut me a check and give me my money back.
The mistake is on their part! On several recorded calls, since July I have stated very clearly - send a check, the bank account is closed.
After over 20 hours on the phone!
After 3 3-way calls with Chase Business and Geico Customer Service, where 3 Chase Business agents stated that they have no trace of Geico's payment, the account was closed in June. It's impossible for a bank to receive money to a closed account.
All calls are recorded.
Geico is refusing to admit mistake and send my check.
I have asked to speak to the account receivable department but can't pass customer service.
on October 2002 I finally - after 3 hours on the phone - I finally was transfered to spoke to supervisor who agreed that the situation is ridiculous and costing every party more than $252.48. But, of course, she had no authority to cut the check
What a waste of my time!
Just trying to appease me? that made me more upset to be taken for a full.
It's November now
I am still waiting for hours to be called back by supposedly someone on charge but these calls never happens.
I am asking them do send my check and reconcile later.
This is not my fault. I have done everything right since the beginning asking for a check since day 1.
This is unacceptable!
Desired outcome: The $252.48 check duePlus $40/hr of my time x22 = $880
Geico

Misunderstanding about paying my bill on the exact date due.
I have been a valued customer for 13 yrs. I would have thought it would show my payments made, even if they were late. I'm disabled. Lung Cancer. Some days are better than others. Therefore I usually pay ALL my bills via phone, one time a month. Most of my bills are all scheduled around that same time. But, even if late, on occasion, no real big deal. I was 21 days late on paying my Sept. payment. When I did pay it. They said my policy was cancelled. But I could start up a new one. At a $ 30 a month increase. I paid it. Upon researching your website, I did find that in cases there have been up to 11 days grace periods. So I would only be asking for an additional 9 days. Plus, I had planned to upgrade my policy and add two other vehicles. I called in to customer service. They were just rude and said that's just the way it's going to remain. AND, they went ahead and showed me with a lapse in coverage. Possibly making higher rates later on. I told her I intended to switch over to Progressive. However, I would like to ask if it's possible to go back to my original rate and do my upgrade and add ons. Just this one time to be a little compassionate to a 62 yr old disabled, on a strict budget, a break. After being with Geico for 13 years. You could tell no matter what. I always made my payments. Just had a problem with this one month.
I would appreciate a response. My home # is [protected]. My email address is, [protected]@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Debbie L. Inasy. Policy # [protected].
Desired outcome: Please have some compassion for a one time over site on paying on time. I just want my policy back and possibly reviewed to tell me why my rates are so high. No 50 miles a day.
Vehicle and Renters Insurance Billing
Krystle Yamada and Luke Ault. I have been billed and monies taken out of my account in the amount of 1500,00. I have payed my renters insurance 1 yr ahead and my 2 vehicles 6 months ahead. So why am I billed for that amount. I am trying to get this matter resolved however numerous amount of calls gave us the run around saying the system is down for over a day. I want my money back on my card. I got receipts for monies paid toward my account from Geico. I will seek an attorney to resolve this matter. I will also blast it on social media how crooked GEICO is.
Desired outcome: my monies back in my account
a claim with chris larkin
Hi my name is margaret przywara my claim number is [protected].
i recently had an accident with a vehicle and the damaged that happened on the vehicle do match his claim and when an officer by the name Officer King, who arrived on the scene, didn't want to listen to what i had to say, and ruled that i was at fault and that is not what happened, and i was told by chris about a month ago that i was not at fault and today he tells me that based on the the cop statement he changed his mine that i was at fault, which doesn't make sense to me because the officer said i was uncooperative so based on that it was my fault, which i think is really unfair judgment, the officer and the guy i had an accident with was peaking Spanish the whole time i was standing there and then comes to me didn't want to hear what i had to say, and said to me its your fault i asked for him to take a statement and he said it was a small claim and he doesn't need to take a statement, and now all of a sudden there is a statement saying i was uncooperative and my claim agent takes his word for it, based on the statement that the officer King and Chis larkin is telling is that i was judged based on my attitude not based on facts, and i would like to speak to some one to look over my case because i had asked chris for me to take the vehicle to an assessment center for him to have the facts that he needs to dispute the officers claim but he instead twist my words and said based on what am telling him he is ruling this as my fault and i don't accept that the was at fault and i would like to get someone to help me with my claim and not judge me base on my attitude thanks.
MARGARET PRZYWARA
Desired outcome: I would like for a fair judgment on this claim not based on an officer who refused to do his job on scene and wasnt willing to listen and when i called him on that he was upset with me.
Car Insurance
My car was vandalized. Something put in the gas tank. Contacted Geico and they sent a tow truck but had no idea where to send my vehicle so the tow company took it to their facility over two weeks ago. I learn more than a week later there was a dispute over the labor cost. I was given a list of places to take it to, but none of those places fix the kind of damage my car has. I am then told to take it to a Chevrolet dealership because I have a Chevy. None of them will take it either (Called 5 places) because they are short staffed and or have to many vehicles. On Friday (10/21) they agree to pay the labor cost BUT they never sent the new estimate AND the adjusters supervisor (Eric) HAS NOT RETURNED MY CALLS. This is insane and will have to find a way to pay out of pocket and just take them to court!
Desired outcome: SEND NEW ESTIMATE TO MECHANIC SHOWING YOU WILL PAY LABOR COST SO THEY CAN FIX MY CAR.
My car was totaled during the storm, Ian.
Storm surge = car totaled. Plates cost $300 to replace. Want $ back. My caar was totaled during the storm, Ian. It was towed, 5 days ago, they requested that I put the plates on drive's seat. That cost $300, when I bought a new car. I want $ bac. Honda of Ft Myers, said they should not have asked for my plates. My name is: James Shurte, 657 Coral Dr., Cape Coral, FL 33904. cell # 239 270

Auto Claim
I have one of the rudest and most inconsiderate claim adjuster.
The claim adjuster asked that I furnished loss wage paystubs and my medical records, yet, when I reached out to the claim adjuster for an update on the paperwork that was submitted and attached to my claim, this person rudely sent me a 'do not reply' email regarding other aspects of the claim that has no bearing on the query that was made.
The date of the accident was 08/29/2020. The at-fault motorist insurance company, American Family Insurance company handled the claim with dignity and respect. It's surreal to think and experienced such low-end service from a well-known company such as Geico. I have been a customer for over 15 years!
Their management team is no better than their claim adjusters.
Why asked for proof of loss wages and medical history forms if you intend to store the paperwork in your desk drawer?
It's has been over three (3) weeks and no real answer has been provided.
Desired outcome: Loss income wages reimbursement.
Failure to thoroughly investigate vehicle accident liability
Claim [protected]:
While southbound on I-405 to eastbound I-90, Ms Crumbley unsafely changed lanes. She forcefully re-entered my lane but space had closed. Right front struck her left rear and pulled taillight back--which proves she was not in front. Damage to vehicles confirms my point. Crumbley admitted fault. Agent Grace, GEICO would take care of my damages. Later, Ms Jane Bryant said GEICO was not responsibe. To my knowledge Bryant had not tried to speak with WDOT or the trooper or looked at the pictures, which clearly show Ms. Crumbley was at fault.
Desired outcome: I want GEICO to look at photos and fix my truck, so I am not out deductible. As a Navy vet and police officer I hold GEICO in high regard. Please restore my faith in your good name.
Car insurance
I started my insuranc with geico in 2020. I pay in full for six month each time, and have never even been late on payments in over fourty years. Before the first six months was up, i got a notice saying my insurance had been canceled. When i called, they apologized and told me everything was taken care of. Well a year later when i went to renew my drivers license, there was a block on it. The dmv showed i had been driving without insurance for over a year. I called geico. The lady said she sent the dmv in baton rouge the information and i was told to wait three business days and then things would be good. Five dayslater the block was still there and the same process happened agin. Five days later, the block is still there. This time i demanded to speak to a supervisor. I waited fourty five minutes on hold. The supervisor then put me on hold again. Ten minutes later he came back and got my number. He told me he was taking care of it but it would take some time. A couple of hours later, he called and said he took care of everything now all i needed to do was to go to the baton rouge dmv and they would reinstate my drivers license. I couldn't believe it. Baton rouge is 500 miles away, and this man is telling me to drive there with a non-valid license when this whole thing is their fault. To make things even worse is the fact in my state each day you continue to drive without insurance you pay a penality if you do not immediately turn you license plate in. I am without words to describe my frustration. I have a insurane company telling me to break the law and risk that penelatly of the 500 mile trip for something they caused. At this point, i really dont know what to do and i have to continue paying geico for their insurance even though i can not even drive, or face even mor problems. All these big copanies have bought our politicians and have made it where us regular citizens are at their mercy and it makes me sick to my stomach. Its time for a change america.
Desired outcome: FIX THE PROBLEM
Agent quotes
It seems every time I contact Geico for a premium amount for my car, I get different quotes! How am I supposed to pay when each day the amount is different? I spoke to 3 agents one was a supervisor! I was looking online at my account and was told those figures were wrong!
Almost 6 months after I paid my premium, I was told I owed $301. They were going to cancel my insurance at this time. What was the amount for and why the time lapse in letting me know if I owed money.
When I recently renewed, the amount was higher every time I increased my deductibles! How is that possible.
I am totally at my wits end. I guess it is time to try a different company. So much for my years of loyalty to Geico.
Desired outcome: Lower rate. Better service from your agents.
Car Insurance
I have been a Geico customer for over 20 years. My policy keeps going up even though I have a good driving record. Because of inflation and a recent unemployment - I asked for a 1-day extension for them not to cancel my policy. Geico would not give me a 1-day extension but asked if there was someone who could help me pay my premium. Really Geico. Have you gotten to be so big that you cannot provide good customer service? It is time for me to change insurance. Not very good customer service Geico. Most companies work with their customers during these hard time!
Rate increase due to no-fault accident

Desired outcome: i wanted to just pay the 174 and reinstate my policy an everyone have a better day
Try General or AAA. GEICO is out to get everybody, and I am sure they lost their shirt from the Hurricane in Florida. From boats to cars. They will give you a BS answer on the phone why it has gone up. Run-away from GEICO.
Auto Insurance
I am complaining that Geico cancelled my auto insurance that I had been paying reguarly for over three years. When I asked for an extension until my next pay 10 days past my due date, I was denied and my insurance was cancelled. When I called the week of hurrican ian, I was told that they could not allow me to renew my policy (2-300 per month) full coverage. A week later Hurricane Ian struck and now I am without insurance. After 3+ years of paying my insurance I get nothing. They should atleast give you 30 days before cancelling...
Desired outcome: I would like my insurance back!
Try another insurance company.
Auto Insurance
I have been a loyal customer of Geico for 4 years. Ever since I started my very first policy for myself. I have always made my payments on time. After Covid occurred, I got behind on payments. Once I had the money I paid what I owed no problem. It was set to cancel 06/02/2022. I paid what I owed on 06/01/2022 in order to prevent my policy from being canceled. It was then canceled the following day and they took my money as well. I called them and they told me there was nothing I could do unless I paid my entire policy amount for the next 6 months up front, which I was unable to do. They were also rude about it and did not do anything to keep me as a customer even though I paid everything that I owed. Terrible experience.
Desired outcome: I would like my policy reinstated without having to pay the total amount up front.
Everyone should fire GEICO
After 20+ years with Geico, no wrecks, no tickets, no claims, always on time paying, I retired and called them looking for a better rate. They suggested I do defensive driving. DEFENSIVE DRIVING? I have a perfect driving record! They offered me a $38 discount if I would do it. So much for customer loyalty! DROP them immediately. Their customer service guy Isiah F. was simply rude.
I did the same and got the same answer. They are crooks we are paying for the Hurricane damage. Their rude because so many people in Florida are calling them. Go online and check around General and AAA there ok. Not Allstate they start off low then nail you in 6 months.
So-called damage compensation....
I'm retired, In my 60s, live in on a small fixed income and drive an old mechanically good in shape 22-year-old car.
A few months ago while driving on residential area road a woman pulled out of street parking just as I passed by hitting me around my passenger side rear quarter panel.
The "damage" was more a large scuff mark and shallow dent from about the middle of the rear passenger door to the beginning of the rear quarter panel, a few strong scuff marks marks with a tapering in/out dent/scratch of about quarter inch deep at most.
She acknowledged her fault and first she claimed she had no insurance and will pay cash.
I went to three auto body (collision) repair shops to get a price quote which I thought was shockingly high. They all quoted me in the $3000-$4000 range.
When I told the lady and showed her the quotes she was surprised and claimed she thought it would be just a few hundred dollars.
Then I had to listen to a sob story from her about other payment obligation she has etc.
Then eventually turns out she does have insurance although she never provided a record of such: Geico
A couple days later she gave me a case number and I followed up with Geico.
ENTER GEICO:
The adjuster came, looked at it and told me he'll get back to me.
I gave him copies of all the maintenance work done on the vehicle (new front-end suspension all new breaks etc.) so he knows that this car is exceptionally well taken care of.
The adjuster called a couple of weeks later with some excuses why he didn't call earlier and said my car is totaled. They'll take it and give you 200 bucks. We can replace it with a car of equal age and value.
Really? So what you do? Go to the junkyard and pick one up?
Am I going to get a car in equal good shape and condition as I needed a vehicle to get to the doctor etc. I asked him but never got an answer.
All I got was the notorious lame "can't do anything else, 'sorry about that'" reply.
I told him I wait for an answer and mentioned also the excellent mechanical shape vehicle is in as well as the maintenance.
He then croaked I can only give you $200 because it has some scratches and that dent. (Many courtesy of all the so "decent" San Francisco "parking and maneuvering hit and runs".)
The mechanical upkeep and condition doesn't count, looks however do, he babbled.
I see all show and shine with no substance.
I asked him if he serious that basically if it's a shiny car without a scratch it would be more value even if the engine is a knocking oil burner, the transmission is worn out and everything else is rotten to the core and loose about the break?
I got no answer.
Then he said the only other option I have is to go to the DMV and change the title to a "salvage". Then he can give me more payout.
When I asked him why would I have to declare a perfectly intact car which was never in an accident other than this "scratch" event, his laconic reply was "That's how it is".
(Geez, I didn't realize you live in an authoritarian state)
I further told him, that asides of all he just told me, fact is I don't have the funds to buy a new car or a good used one, especially in this market where you used cars have gone way up in price. I'm retired. I'm on a fixed income.
If we were to reverse roles, Would you like to be treated like that? Do you seriously want to take away my car giving 200 bucks?
No answer.
As my grandfather always said: " 'insurances' are organized defrauding of the people which you pay for."
Desired outcome: I'm really stuck on this one because I just don't have the funds for hiring an attorney to get this resolved. I'm hopeful I can find an acceptable solution.
