GEICO lower prices in ga is false advertising

Geico is advertising that it has lower prices in GA, this is absolutely not true. I am classified as a safe driver (no accidents or speeding tickets) and 53 years old. Their prices are higher than all other carriers. This is false advertising. I also know of other people that have complained about the same issue.

I agree, Geico's advertising said it has the lowest prices in Florida and that is absolutely false. I'm also classified a safe driver (no accidents or speeding tickets) and age 50. My wife also is a safe driver. Their price was $1, 500 dollars a year and much higher than all other carriers. For me and my wife it only cost us $500 dollars a year. This is outright false advertising. I too know of other people with the same complain.

GEICO working with geico claims

Hit by a Geico policy holder. Geico adjuster calls and leave me a message to call her back. I have tried for 6 weeks now to get a hold of her. She never answers the phone, always goes to voice mail. When she calls me back, usually 2 days later, it is at a random time and I can not take the call because of work.

I have BEGGED her to leave me a time to call her back or tell me a time when she will be calling me back so I can take the call and she completely ignores my request.

I would not do business with a company that you cant get a hold of. Well, I am sure you can get a hold of them if you want to BUY their insurance.

Call between 8-4:30pm and if that does not work call and press zero to reach a general claims person. Just a heads up, this person who answers will NOT have access to your claim but they are more than happy to get you the supervisors name and number. They will even offer to transfer you. NICELY ask the person if they can give you the extention for this girls supervisor. Kindly THANK this person. Then call that supervisor and they will return your calls. I work there and we don't like it when our coworkers don't return calls either. Believe it or not 99% of us actually want to help you and have it be a pleasant experience.

GEICO obtaining false information

I was a customer with Geico for 4 years and I was happy with there service up until this incident. I had called to make a payment that was not even a month behind and when I did so they told me that my policy was suspended. The lady then said well hold a second and I will reinstate it. She then came back and told me they couldn't insure me anymore because they obtained information on my license, that is false mind you! They said that I had two OUI's and drug charges which are ludacris. The lady told me that they were on there from August 2005. I had my policy since October 2005. Mind you they insured me after this supposed incident. When asked she said they update their system every six months. I then asked to get a copy of this "supposed" information she has and she refused to give it to me and I told her if she didn't I would be bringing a lawsuit against the company. She then said I would need a subpoena to get that information. I said I don't want to insure with you anymore because I found a different insurance company but I know that information you have is false because I checked with the DMV and they told me differently. I then asked to speak with her supervisor after she again refused to give me the information. When I asked that she refused to have me speak with her supervisor and said she would handle the situation. I told her that she was not handling the situation because I didn't want to get coverage with them anymore I just wanted the false information she had about me. I said I WANT to speak with your supervisor and she said well I will have her call you at HER convenience within 3-5 days. I'm very disgusted with the customer service that I received from this company. When I try to get the email address for the CEO of the company all I get is to sign up for something to recieve it. I plan to bring a lawsut against this company because they have done a number of things wrong. They also contradict themselves because I had been insured with them for 4 years and now all of a sudden they aren't going to insure me because of false information they "supposedly" found out about me but then refused to give me. For a company that supposedly prides themselves on being friendly and helpful they have failed to do so with me and from what I see many customers! Please let me know if you have had any similiar problems. Thank you!

GEICO insurance practices

I solicited GEICO for an insurance quote and was given a good rate so I agreed to use them. I was instructed to send the initial downpayment amount of $125.00, which I did promptly overnighting it. Three days later, I received my insurance card and policy. Two weeks later, I received a check from them for $175.00 with no explaination. When I called I was told I had overpaid the downpayment. I told them I only paid $125.00 but was told the difference was interest. I deposited the check into my checking account. One week later I received a cancellation notice, which no one could explain and the next day I received a bill for $248.00. When I questioned the bill, I was told it was for the time I was covered until the account was cancelled. I told them I would not pay this amount since they screwed everything up. I was told I would be taken to court. "Go ahead" I was contacted shortly after by a collection company - I later found out was a subsidiary of GEICO threatening to freeze my accounts. I told them I needed all the information they had as I was planning to sue GEICO and surprisingly, I never heard from them again.

GEICO harassment

On August 2nd, 2008, I cancelled my auto insurance policy with Geico because of their poor customer service and because they caused me a $250 fine by cancelling my insurance policy (apparently because of my payment being lost in the mail) then telling the DMV that I have no insurance without first contacting me.

I made the mistake of paying Geico a six-month premium before I learned about of this.

I've signed up with a different insurance company since then, yet I

continue to get recorded calls harassing me about the policy at Geico that I do not want. Each call costs me money since I use a pre-paid cell phone.

To date Geico has not reimbursed me for the premium they owe me after my cancellation, they have not reimbursed me for the $250 fine, and they continue to make harassing, automated, prerecorded phone calls.

The harassment and unpaid amount that Geico owes me has gone on way too

long. I received the latest call today, 1/12/2008 at 2:05 pm, from the phone number, [protected], a full five months after I cancelled my policy.

I urge Geico to do the right thing and reimburse me, and I urge consumers NOT to use Geico.

Geico raised the my rates without informing and did not ever send a piece of paper with the policy or something. So yes, Geico sucks! Who loves insurance companies probably works for one, knowing the fact that a lot of agents take enormous comissions.

Let me get this straight? It is Geico's fault that your payment got "lost in the mail", that you broke the law in your state and did not have insurance? Also that they are calling the phone number that you provided to collect money that you probably do owe? If I was really worried about my "track phone" minutes get another one. If it is a reputable service provider get a different phone number. As far as the premium you paid after the cancelation, you would not owe anything if you had paid? By the way it is not even Geico calling you, they sell the debt to a collection agency. If you would pay your bills as agreed to you would not be in this mess, it is your fault. Also I personally glad that the DMV is notified that you are not insured, why should I have to pay for my insurance when you can't even mail your payments properly.

GEICO they are stalling on my claim

My car was hit in an intersection by another Geico insured driver. My adjuster wouldn't pay for the other driver's repairs stating that it was her fault. Now in order to get a rental and repairs for myself they have called in investigators and have told me it could be up to 90 days before the claim is settled. I am disabled and have to have a car for doctor and surgery and the only answer I get is I have to wait on the adjuster, leaving me without needed transportation Needless to say I am quite pissed and disillusioned with GEICO. I will be cancelling my policy.

ASKING FOR QUICK RESPONSE!

Does anyone know which bank(s) Geico banks with? Does anyone that has "Geico Indemnity Insurance Co" policy have a Geico check that they can obtain Geico's bank account number from the face of the check? Please email Musenco212@yahoo.com! I will pay $100.00 for the correct information as I have a large judgment against Geico I would like to enforce by bank levy. Thank you.

I should have read these reviews before i purchased my policy. Geico is not paying my claim either. Unfortunatly we are both insured by Geico. And the other driver is disputing, so geico says. even though we had a witness and the driver admitted to police that he had not stopped because he was not paying attention which is in the police report. They are stalling and saying it is still being investigated. How do they get away with this?

a payment that was "lost in the mail" that geico never recieved? most pmt are due about 30 days before the policy runs out. and even then theres always a cancellation notice sent out. youre complaining about your dmv fine? why would anyone pay for your fault? YOU had the lapse. when you didnt notice a payment deduct from your bank acct maybe you shoulda got on top of that and checked it out.

GEICO terrible experience

I'd like to give consumers to beware of Geico's business practices when it comes to renewal of policy.

I was insured with Geico for 11 years, I kept renewing my policy year after year like I was on auto pilot. I knew there were better deals out there everyone I knew told me so but out of loyalty or laziness I just kept renewing.

However, I noticed that despite my great driving record my premiums were not budging. When I told them I was going to cancel the customer representative told me I had to renew, because if there was a lapse in coverage I would be fined by my new insurer. This information is actually half correct, but she was trying very hard to keep my account through 'threats' not 'service.'

Consumers be advised that there are some states that will fine you if there is a lapse of insurance, however, each state has different laws regarding lapse of insurance. Secondly, there needs to be a huge gap such as 30 days or more for you to incur a fine. Do not let any insurance company or agent scare you into paying their high premiums. You have a right to shop around and find the best deal for yourself. This is a pure business decision.

This is exactly what I did. However, 3 months later I got a note from DMV telling me that I had incurred a fine for not being insured. It seems not only does Geico threaten customers into staying with them they also notified the DMV that I had a lapse of insurance because I was not insured with them anymore.

For those that are in the process of looking at insurance companies believe me you don't want a company like this to cover you. They're in the business of making money, whatever way they can. Instead of gaining loyalty through service they'd rather blackmail and threaten their customers into loyalty.

Youre an idiot. of course an insurance co. notifies the dmv when you no longer have ins w/ them. especially in ca where dmv requires you have insurance on a vehicle thats still actively registered w/ dmv. if the dmv contacted you b/c of this lapse, its obviously b/c your current ins co. failed to notify dmv that you now have other ins. regarding your premium, I bet you anything that you were already getting the best rate and had and old clunker with liab only. insurance isnt free people. your premium can only go so low.

GEICO insurance incompetence

Other drivers insurance (Geico) was going to total my vehicle. Other driver at fault for auto accident. Geico requested my vehicle title and sent the towing service to pick up my vehicle; which they did. This is after my vehicle sat in Repair shop for over one month. Geico takes possession of my vehicle; then after the fact informs me that they will not pay for my vehicle repair; because clients insurance coverage is not sufficient to cover the total of my vehicle repairs. This is after they took my vehicle. I was informed that my vehicle was at a car lot awaiting for me to retrieve it. I'm responsible for recovering my vehicle from this lot. I had to make several calls to locate my vehicle and recover it and then start the whole process again with my Insurance company. It took 4 months from the time of the accident until I had my vehicle in working order again. In which I spent $300.00 in towing; out of my pocket and storage fees while my vehicle was in the repair shop awaiting for a Geico insurance rep to estimate my vehicle. I will never recommend Geico auto Insurance to any body ever again.

It took Geico well over a week to pick up our vehicle, from an accident, and then they decided it was totaled, but Geico has their own set of rules, as to the amount of fair market value, they are willing to pay you for the vehicle.

Geico should have verified their client's coverage. The best thing that you can do is claim it under the uninsured motorist portion of your policy.

Sounds like what my son is going through with Geigo. My son (not a Geigo customer) was in an accident with a Geigo customer. Geigo's customer ran red light, my son tried to avoid Geigo customer, but hit Geigo customer. Police report stated Geigo customer was at fault was cited for running red light, and Geigo says my son was 20% at fault, go figure. My son vehicle was totaled. Geigo would not rent him a vehicle and finally they say they will only pay 1/4 of what vehicle is worth. Then they say, they are not going to total it because it was 20% my sons fault, and now says my son better get vehicle from where it was towed because he is being charged ever since vehicle right now $500 is owed to wrecker. My son hasn't gotten check yet, so only time will tell if they will. How does Geigo get away with this, from doing a search on Geigo complaints, they do everyone like this. Who can we report Geigo's practices? Geigo seems to make there own rules and the heck with everyone else.

GEICO road service

This very poor road service really is funny.

I left Stuart, Fl and traveled north on the FL Turnpike. After an hour of driving at 70 MPH one of my tires blew out.
It was raining so I call Geico to have someone change my tire. The agent said she was from Macolm Ga. The dialogue was like this:
1. I gave my insurance number and asked for road service.
2. She confirmed my coverage and asked what area code I was in.
3. NOW HOW WOULD I KNOW THE AREA CODE ?
4. I mentioned I had been driving north from Stuart, Fl at about 70 miles per hour. I therefor was about 80 miles north of Stuart, FL.
5. She insisted on knowing my area code. ?
6. She then asked if I could see any road signs or bridges ?
7. I peered forward thru the rain and could barely see a sign on the overpass and what the sign said.?
9. Through the rain I barely could make out CLEAR...
10. She had no luck and asked for more info.
11. I could barely see ING. she asked for more info.
12. I opened the window and barely saw 16 ft.
It was then I realized what the sign said.
CLEARING 16 FEET

I had to laugh. The operator said she would look for a town called clearing 16 feet. no luck.
13. She then asked me to stop traffic and ask about the area code. Now I doubt that anyone driving on the Fl Turnpike would know the area code,
She said she would call back and I did not hear from her until 2:30 pm. By then My tire had been changed and I was in Orlando.
I wrote a letter to Geico Headquarters and never received a response.

This is one for the books. Has anyone received this kind of service?

This sounds like a case where neither of you know what the hell you are doing. I would have asked you for the cross streets and then looked up the area code on google. Why didn't one of you think of that? My God! I actually have to share oxygen with you people.

The operator was an idiot...looking for a town called Clearing 16 feet? The driver gave the general vicinity of highway ...the north bound lane of the Fl turnpike at approx 80 miles north of Stuart, FL...any fool who can look at a map (and wouldn't you think that emergency operators would have access to maps?) should be able to ascertain the nearby towns and locate a towtruck to assist the insured.

I just spoke with another GEICO operator today who tried to send a towtruck driver from ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN...this makes it obvious to me that idiots incapable of reading maps are manning the GEICO emergency phones ...she assured me that they are guaranteed to arrive within the hour...ha! I told the operator there is a closer tow truck that GEICO used in the past. She told me to call them & see if they would contract w/Geico. I told her they had already contracted w/GEICO in the past but she said she had to answer the phones for other people who are calling to get service and can't tie up her phone with my case.

Another incident, this past winter I had to call for assistance and waited for an hour freezing in my car for a tow truck that was supposed to be coming from a town located approximately 10 miles straight down the highway from my location (not across the mountain). Like the person in Florida, I was finally helped by a good samaritan. I called GEICO Emergency Service to cancel the tow truck AFTER I got home. What are we paying for anyway?

GEICO scam and cheating

I was a loyal Geico customer for over 10 years. I never had a claim. I never even had a speeding ticket or parking violation. Nothing. In a one year period, mine and my wife's cars were both hit, each time while our cars were not moving. First I was hit at a stoplight when a driver passed out and plowed through an intersection and hit a turning car in front of me. Again, my car was at a complete dead stop.

Later that same year, my wife's car was hit in her parking lot at work, when she wasn't even in the car. The car was unoccupied. Neither time did Geico pay a claim on my behalf when I was at fault. Would you like to know what GEICO did? They told me I was an unacceptable rick and promptly canceled all my coverages. When I called up and talked to them, their reason was that there were two claims against my policy. What?

Basically, after even after asking for and talking to a supervisor, I was informed that because both accidents were caused by other GEICO insured drivers, my policy was being canceled. I have never been as upset with a company I had done business with before.

No matter how old I become or how many people I have to tell this story to, I will never ever do business with this company again. They took over $15, 000 of premiums from me and then canceled me because I had the misfortune to get hit twice (in stationary vehicles) in 12 months by other Geico customers. I guess next time I'm at a red light, I should make sure I get hit by a State Farm or Allstate insured driver.

I was hit in the rear by a Geico insured driver while sitting at a red light. I was told by the Geico agent when they called that they wouldn't be paying the liability because I backed into them. Wth? This is the craziest thing I've ever heard of. Sitting on a four lane highway at a red light. Yeah lets just through it in reverse and take off that way.

Just for the record the other driver has Geico insurance, I have insurance with a different company. But Geico is refusing to pay the damages to my vehicle cause by their Geico insured driver.

I'm thinking the better business bureau needs to take a hard look at Geico's business practices, because something is definitely going on.

GEICO is focused on "Slamming." I just called in simply to get a Quote only and being Slammed by GEICO agent Lisa. I escalated to her manager and he's also part of the Scam! This is truly called “Slamming” – specially someone simply called in to get a quote only and the GEIOCO agent Lisa forcefully added this driver (my cousin) in our policy; even her manager knowing the fact would not do anything about it- this is truly a ridiculous system/ process.
I’m requesting high level Geico leaderships attention to this; I truly called in to get a quote only, and a driver is being forcefully added to our policy. Now I’m being asked to signs in NDE to exclude my cousin ! I'm not even not how she was added at the first place! What an oppression!

Geico is a complete scam! Within one month of obtaining a policy geico sent me a mandatory survey. I didn't receive it the first time sent. I then received a policy cancellation notice if survey wasn't received by May 8, 2018. Ok so I get the survey, fill it out and added the necessary documents and put it in a self address envelope to geico underwriting department in VA. Now its been 5 business days and when I call to see if the documents have been received geico rep tells me they haven't received it. At this point my policy has been cancelled for two days. When I ask the GEICO rep what state are they in it wasnt VA and that's where the mail went. So the reps that you call have to wait for someone in another state to process your info in the computer so that other reps can see. (not cool) the mail doesn't go directly to the department that u need. So now say they receive my mail after the due date which was May 8, 2018 and then they put in my policy number the first thing their gonna see is that my policy is cancelled. So why would they input my info on a cancelled policy? Plus the computer system might not even let them input any info on a cancelled policy. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Now I'm paying for a car I can't even drive. I hate geico for doing this to me and countless others.

I was in a five-car, pile-up accident on a major highway nine months ago. The lane we were in (car-pool) had no other cars in it. We got involved when one of the cars from the pile-up was pushed into our lane, and collided front-end to front-end with us. Everyone involved was injured to some degree, but the worst were two brain injuries from the car that hit us. My passenger broke her back. I came out with a broken rib, abdominal contusions, and whip-lash and nightmares that continue. My car was only a month old and Geico paid me what the car was worth, less my $500 deductible. They continued to argue that no matter whether or not I was at fault for the accident, I had to pay the deductible. That wasn't even the bad part.

The driver who caused the accident and admitted fault only had limited liability insurance which left $40, 000 for all of us to divide. Since everyone's injuries had outrageously high medical costs, the under-insured motorist insurance would have to kick in. Well, everyone was awarded thousands of dollars for pain and suffering except for me. Geico argued that I didn't have that coverage, even though my policy states I did on the list of benefits. Somewhere in the fine print it says I don't have it. I have no idea how this can possibly be legal, since it's California state law to have this coverage when financing a car, as I was. My attorney is currently going over the policy paperwork with a fine tooth comb, but he doubts my coverage will be honored. I agree that Geico not only needs a big-fat-healthy-lawsuit to set them straight, but everyone in the country needs to be aware of this companies bait-and-switch policies. I was paying just as much for coverage as everyone else (more than a lot of other people as I found out later), yet I wasn't properly covered at all. It's unbelievable to me that every, single, other person's insurance company in this lawsuit didn't even bat an eye over honoring their obligation to their clients, but I was left out in the cold because I had Geico. I'm a writer and I swear they won't get away with this. If what they're doing is a legal scam because of some loophole the California lawmakers put into affect, doesn't make a difference. It doesn't make a difference that most, if not all, insurance companies are scammers to one degree or another, Geico is obviously the worst. There are millions of people out there driving around thinking they're protected from under-insured drivers, but they're not if they have Geico.

I was driving down Highway 80; Ladonia, AL, when a vehicle came out into the HWY suddenly. We were both transported to the Hospital in the same Ambulance. He was drunker than Cuda Brown! Geico then claims they would not pay my claim because my vehicle was not inspected when I opened the coverage a year and a half ago. However, the at fault party never files a claim and I have to research my own accident to obtain a police report. Ironically, he has Geico also. Meanwhile, for 3 week I have been paying for a rental because they say they have to investigate the claim. What the heck was the police report for? I will never do anything with this crooked company again.

I purchased a 2014 Ford Escape and the dealership called Geico to handle the insurance, they said I owed $98.24 from previous policy. Ok, fine paid that and it cleared up everything, next day I paid 1st month premium with a credit card and cancelled auto-pay. Geico in their infinite wisdom tried to take the 1st month premium that I already paid with said credit card, out of my checking account. I incurred $90 in nsfs, then they started playing with my policy and said I owed $98.24 from previous policy of which I already paid!, then try and charge $232.25, then issued a policy cancellation for non-payment even though I already paid and the kicker: payment due 31st of the month, policy cancellation effective date 9/4 and they want another payment for the 5 days 9f "coverage " even though I have a claim cause some [censor] keyed the he'll out of my car. And they haven't responded on the claim at all after they have all the necessary paperwork. This company should not stay in business with these fraudulent billing practices.

Everyone needs to get together and try to get a class action law suit for all of these none payment of policy and sue them as I had them and was in a accident and they had my car towed to a repair shop gave me a work order to the car repair place and myself but they will not give me a rental car as I have paid for one thru my insurance and they want my work hours a witness and to talk to my employees as I live in the mountains as tried to avoid a deer and went off the road and went air born and they want more each time I ask them when are they going to fix my car now they tell me they have 55 days to investigate and I have giving them everything they as except a signature from the deer that I tried to avoid from hitting I guess they will ask for that next and they man I spoke to talked to my grand parent and others and keeps trying to start a argument when I tell him I will not argue about this he just keeps saying stop raising your voice and I will not argue and I ask him what is he talking about I have not raised my voice and I will not argue he seems to try and use this as a reason to not speak and pay for my car There needs to be a law suit file against this company they should not get by with acting and treating people that pay for insurance this way

I would love to stand with you all in a lawsuit against Geico. I have been with then since 2010 about. 2/4/19 I am traveling home from work southbound, care going northbound decides to make a left turn in front of me because the other driver gave her the right away? You still have to do it safely. Im already coming down a hill so I was on braking anyway. I couldn't believe she would turn seeing me coming. I did hit her. WE both have Geico, the next day, I'm told to get a rental and my car fixed, its her fault. She disputed it and now they say its 50/50. There is no way I will take any responsibility for this. I drive so careful. I get hit almost everyday from drivers who don't pay attention. She even told me she was trying to beat me. I have no rental or collision. They actually talked me out of it when I joined. I love my but its 2008. I was in the right, and she made the choice to move, she was stopped, I wasn't. I am reporting to their supervisor . I think we need a lawyer to put them in their place. Because we both have Geico you are trying to please us both. She had a neighbor who popped up all of a sudden. I wonder if she knows them personally because she was blaming me as soon as she got there. She wasn't even there.

So, I cancelled my policy as "loyal" customer for 8 years because my wife actually found a cheaper insurance company to go to for both our auto's and home. I get my 102.00 withdrawn from my checking every month for our auto policy. I cancelled my auto policy on September 22nd. After hanging up with a customer service person and double checking that I would receiving a returned pro ration back in 3 to 5 days, I receive a bill from Geico for $20.17! For cancellation of my policy! So I spoke to a cs agent and she is telling me because Geico pays my portion to the North Carolina Insurance commission, I am directed under a "certain rate". And that rate I am under, the agent tells me that Geico has paid my policy back in full to the North Carolina insurance Commission in full and because my policy is a 6 month policy! Please tell me somebody that this makes sense? I mean it's only about $60.00 I thought i should of been getting back. Not getting a bill for $20.17? Please email me with anything you might know at davidbril@aol.com I am soo taking this further if this does not make sense.

This company is a COMPLETE scam. I have never dealt with such a low life company. You rip people only once. To think I was consider switching over to Geico from Ameriprise. My dad got rear-ended by his neighbor (literally garage facing each other). The other lady had Geico Insurance, she was late to work but told my dad she was at fault. He handed my dad a business card and took off to work. I called her at her work and she emailed me her Geico insurance card, ask me to filed the claim with them and will she will cover whatever that is not.

Geico called me days later to take a statement from my dad recorded. Two hours later, called my dad back and said that the Insurer denied being involve in the accident...therefore, Geico is denying the claim. Is that for real? I've never dealt with such scanless company before. I thought the Insurer was really denying involvement in the accident so I contacted her via email. She claimed that she clearly told Geico that she hit our car. So why would Geico make things up, to save a few bucks. Is a few buck really worth a life long Reputation? I will fight this in court. They will not get away with this. Now, I hear the name GEICO... I steer far away. What a stupid company? How do they operate?

GEICO unfair lowball payout

Upon getting insurance for both and my wifes' motorcycle, we used the website. Had a few problems, and figured we'd call in, in the event something wasn't recorded correctly. Upon using the site we were never alerted to anything about "accessories" that might be purchased for the bikes, nor when we spoke to a live rep was that mentioned. On 6/9/08, I was in an MV vs MC accident, and my 2006 Suzuki Katana 600-K6 was turned into a total loss. (Looking at the bike photos, I don't it should have been a total loss...)

Anyways, we talked to our rep and was told to submit the receipts for the accessories for the bike (which included a $250 Scorpio IR-500 Alarm System). Total amount spent and submitted was $1, 259.52 including CA sales tax. The adjuster tells me that Geico will pay me $500 for all the items. FIVE HUNDRED? Uhhhhh... the amount was ONE THOUSAND TWO-HUNDRED FIFTY NINE DOLLARS AND FIFTY TWO CENTS. I'm pretty good at math, and I'm thinking Geicos' calculator is busted. To add insult to injury, both my wife and I were QUOTED many times, that I would get the amount I paid for my RX7 Arai helmet. Again, I submitted my proof and was cut a check at one for the amount of $429.00 - the amount of the helmet is $616.21 - again, the math here is a little fuzzy on the part of Geico.

I called a rep on 7/12/08 and explained my frustration. I was very professional and so was he. He sounded sincere in trying to help, but I'm not angry with him (as I told him, before I started talking to him) I just want to be compensated what I and the wife were promised, many times.

And as for the accessories - since this was never mention, I expect FULL compensation. They need to ask the right question when someone is signing up for coverage and fix their website to include the exact "road map" a live rep would take. We'll see what happens before I have to contact our local Consumer Advocate here at our NBC affiliate.

GEICO innocent bystander car

Does anyone know how to reach him. He’s the CEO For Geico and I’d really like to have a word with him. The company stinks waiting months to be paid for a claim. Was not even involved in an accident. Parts from a vehicle insured by them flew off during an accident they were in and damaged our parked car. Three messed up checks later and months into it and we still have nothing to repair the car with. Unless they think bogus excuses on the employees part and the Oh! so sorry apology we keep getting over and over again will somehow repair the car. So sick of this and all they have to say is “It’s in the mail” Until the next week when amazingly someone else has messed it up, gone on vacation or just didn’t come into work so it got put by the way side and forgotten. Is this how this company is run? If anyone else knows where I can post this to get my point across I’d appreciate the info. Next is the BBB. Not that that will do any good but I’m going to put it where anyone and everyone can read just how they treat innocent bystanders. I can just imagine how they handle the poor souls who actually pay to have insurance through them and do have the misfortune of having an accident where they are at fault. BUYERS BEWARE!

I am in Florida and I Also am having a very difficult time with Geico-We were involved in a four car accident and not at fault-The guy who was at fault was insured by Geico. He drove a large truck-big tires-anyway he lost steering and hit three different cars-mine included-We were all sitting on 27 waiting for a guy to turn-There is no turning lanes due to construction-you just turn from the lane you are driving in-none of us were moving when he hit us.

I drive a cadillac and my husband is handicapped and we have to have a car with a trunk large enough for his wheelchair-I contacted my insurance Co. after the Dundee police gave us the HSMV crash report- my Insurance Co. said contact Geico and see if they would take care of it first- since I have a 500.00 deductable and I didn't know it but I had no car rental insurance(I do now!-I called Geico and reported it-I did all this at the accident-I gave Geico all the information about all the vehicles involved.

They said when they spoke to their client who caused the accident and if he told them he was at fault they would get back to me-They did.

Geico set up an appointment with their adjuster(the accident happened Thursday before July fourth)My appt. was for the following Tuesday. The whole time they told me they would take care of everything and after I saw the adjuster they would reserve a rental for me- I spoke with five different Geico TEAM
MEMBERS over the holiday weekend and on Monday

We had driven our car from the accident and were willing to drive to the adjuster(the adjuster does not come to you) but the whole right side of the car was damaged and the front tire on the passenger side was pushed in at an angle.

Our appointment was at 10:00am at 8:30am the claims adjuster from the Geico Lakeland office called as we were getting in our car-She informed us she had been out of the office and Geico would be unable to pay the damages or supply us with a rental car(We have been without a car since Thursday and my husband is handicapped)I told her all this and she was very sorry but there was nothing she could do-We could keep our appointment with the Geico adjuster but they could not pay for my claim(yet-I would have to contact my insurance Co. and have them take care of it. She said he (the client)didn't have enough coverage for all vehicles involved. I ask her why noone had told us before now
and what were we supposed to do for a rental vehicle-I ask what she would do- she said call my insurance company and she then said we were going in circles was there anything else she could help me with? I t certainly wasn't going to be a Rental Car.

I called my insurance Co.-State farm and they handled everything. My car is at Fields Cadillac being repaired-My agent told me to call Geico and ask if they could pay for the rental since my insurance didn't cover that and since State Farm had covered everything else it was worth a try-I called her back and ask her she said no there was nothing she could do-they would pay State Farm since they would be paying for the repairs-there was nothing they could do for us.

I had already called Enterprise when Geico had said they were going to supply a rental and made sure they had something my husband could get into from his wheelchair- that also had a large trunk-To Hold the wheel chair-

I called Clifton at Lake Wales Enterprise and Apologized for any inconvenience-HE Was VERY NICE-Said if there was any way he could help us to let him know.

We still don't have a rental- Geico said they didn't know how long it would take to resolve this they had contacted two of the drivers that had been hit(I'm one)- to tell us to have our insurance companies take care of the damages and the third driver had not been contacted yet-they had left the third driver messages-They couldn't resolve anything until he was contacted(what a joke

Geico Needs To take some lessons from State Farm Insurance & Enterprise Car Rental and Lots of Help with Customer Relations! They don't care!

My husband is telling all his friends how Geico treated him and now I'm telling people too!

GEICO doesn't pay to be honest

On 6/13/08 I was coming around the back corner of my apartment complex that I live at when a fire truck came racing towards me. I started backing up because it is a very small area, to let them through and accidentally backed into a car's rear quarter panel that was parked illegally in a driveway.

Now we have been customers of Geico for 3 years and I am 43 years old and have NEVER been in an accident. We have NEVER filed a claim with Geico.

Anyway, I didn't know whose car it was so I left a note on the car and when I got off work I called Geico to let them know what had happened. I was told that if I didn't hear from them that my insurance would not go up and also that it may not go up because we were long time customers and had never filed a claim before. If it did go up it would more than likely not be a lot.

I waited for the people to call, nothing. Then, over the weekend (7/4/08) my husband was looking through our bills for the month and found that Geico had raised our insurance rates about 50.00 a month!

I thought that maybe Geico had got a hold of the people and that they had placed a claim, so I called. Geico told me that they had an open claim for about another week on the accident, no one had contacted them and that the reason that they raised my insurance rates was because I was honest enough to report the accident. So, no money was paid out, no accident was taken care of and they still raised my payments. What a scam!

Needless to say we are looking elsewhere for insurance.

I work for GEICO, ask what the payout was. If you are a preferred (GEICO or GEICO GENERAL) or average risk (GEICO INDEMNITY) customer and the payout is less than 500 dollars, then there is no surcharge. GEICO will only surcharge on your next renewal, and only when the claim is closed. There was either a payout or an error, so double check. Couldn't hurt. If this is surchargeable, then the other insurance company you get will also surcharge the activity for three years. Insurance sucks sometimes.

I've been a GEICO insured for many years in several states. According to every contract I've had if there was zero payout the rates do not increase. Might pay to read your contract, either this is in error or fictional.

GEICO attempt to get credit card # got ss#

internet address: http://www.geico.com
The online forma wouldn't allow for no vehicle so I called
Online help phone # [protected]. I was told the reps were all busy and he'd take a call back number. I allowed that.
I was requesting "named nonopwners policy" according to Derrick whe he called back.
He was personable and chatty, helpful and kind.
Many other local insurance companies I'd called said they didn't issue these for OR.
Derrick, representing GEICO said he could. In our chatting and questions from him he asked for my SS#, which I normally would not give, but did in this situation.
He wanted to do a credit check and I told him I did not want a check on my card because it would affect my rate. He said he'd make a soft hit which wouldn't have any affect. I was still not alerted in the moment to the possibiliy of a scam, although he didn't follow through with that and ask for the card #.
He gave me a high quote and I said no...we ended off as he couldn't make the quote lower. But I guess he got partly what he wanted...my SS#.
Nice to feel vulnerable doing normal State required business at age 63, lone female and vulnerable. Too sad, too bad.

[censored], Insurance always requires your social security number. And to pay for it you must provide a checking account, credit card, or debit card. Therefore, after giving you your quote, which is based on your credit history AND driving history, he asked for payment information. Since you declined to purchase, you didn't have to provide it.

Quit being so paranoid and get over it. The world isn't out to scam you.

By the way, did you have to provide your SS # to get a driver license? OH NO! The Division of Motor Vehicles will scam you too! *rolls eyes*

GEICO unfair business practises

I have purchased a 2006 BMW in the end of February 2008, and since I had another (much older) vehicle insured with Geico, I just added the new BMW and specifically asked that it had to be fully insured, meaning to have Geico include everything: collision, rental, driver, passenger, etc.

Agent confirmed my request and I paid in full for whatever extra he calculated. Mid-March 08 I was driving around 2am on the freeway and did not notice quite in time a piece of tire that had fallen down from a semi. Got some damage on the bumper.

Called Geico just to hear that I did not have a collision coverage after all and they will not be paying anything since they found that it was my fault. I was repeatedly insulted by Geico service representative and a supervisor who said that it's my responsibility to check what I am buying and they are not responsible for selling me a wrong kind of insurance. So Geico simply refused the claim completely, backed out.

However, I still asked for an upgrade to finally get what I requested for in the first place; paid extra $400. Last week I placed the car for repairs in the BMW dealership and got a rental car from them. The dealership covers 2 day rental; it's going to take about 5 days to fix the car.

I called Geico for rental reimbursement, which is clearly stated as one of the coverages on my policy. The response was a refusal, combined with pushing me around, horrific customer service and already typical backing out of the contract.

Geico practices selling false policies that don't cover and getting money for it, so that when an accident happens, they are clearly not responsible for the claim. It is very convenient- it's always a customer's fault that he/she relied on the Geico agent to provide with truthful information.

i agree w/ liz. for real. check out your contract next time, ###. especially w/ a bmw. thats the problem w/ people, they want to complain and complain and complain and they dont read their ###. with ANY company. i used to work for ins, and add brand new vehicles to policies and the policyholder would say "no, i dont need "full covereage", im not going to get into an accident." oh really? i thought thats why they called them "accidents". and then why are you calling two months later trying to get us to pay your claim? mmhmm

The contract you get from GEICO states that rental reimbursement is only in the event of a covered claim. Also, there is no such thing as "full coverage." That is a term that dealers and lienholders created. When you made your downpayment, you had a legally binding contract, and therefore GEICO had every right to deny the claim. You had not payed for your coverage. Hpw could you not have reviewed your coverages when you received your paperwork?

As far as rental reimbursement, it pay for a covered loss - if the collision wasn't covered neither was the rental. You have no 'rip-off' argument there.

Duh you ###. Of course they use it to identify whether or not someone is committing insurance fraud. By the way, they don't record every call, either, the rep you speak with sends a "tip" to their underwriters or "risk pursuit" letting them know what they heard. It's THOSE people who determine whether or not you are committing insurance fraud. If it's determined you are, they will raise your rates or cancel your policy, and they have every legal right to do so.
