My new GE refrigerator has a leaking ice maker, and I can't get anyone from the GE warranty center to come and fix it. I have set up 3 appointments with them and they have never shown up. The last one didn't even call!
Since I purchased several GE appliances in the last year, I feel very disappointed to be treated this way. I even purchased the extra $300 warranty package for this frig, but I'm getting nothing from it. What a waste of money! The frig was one of their best ones too (model PVD28BYNCFS).
There is another small issue with this frig (wheel on freezer roll-out basket), and a small dent in the door from when it was delivered.
I would really like to get a new replacement refrigerator. But if they can fix all the issues (especially the ice-maker), then I would settle for that.
Desired outcome: New frig, or everything fixed like new.
Dishwasher
I just placed a new service call for this unit again because it is having the same issues it had when it just shut down. Now I am told that I will have to pay for the tech to come again a repair that only lasted 60 days and 2 control boards were replaced.
I have had nothing but problems for a suite of appliances I bought from because I felt that GE is a good brand.
Desired outcome: 1- waive the service call I am about to pay for a service call and a second repair. 2-Some kind of reimbursement or something to make up for this suite of appliances that have not held up. Two items went out during the warranty period.
Dishwasher
Scheduled a Service with GE for 10/14 between the hours of 8am to 12 pm. Got a call from the tech that he would be there. He came, rang the door bell and left immediately. I call the number [protected] and spoke to a representative, informing them of what had just transpired. She tried to contact the technician but unfortunately he did not pick up his phone. When my wife called that number a few minutes later that very individual told my wife that I am a liar and the technician showed up but not one was there. My wife took the day off to be at home to facilitate the repairs. What is there to lie about. Employees working for this company are very disrespectful and think they could say anything to GE customers. Please look into this matter and give it the attention it deserves.
GE Washer
Purchased a GE washer in May 2021 at the LOWES in Belle Vernon, PA. I also purchased the additional warranty coverage and I'm not really sure why it has not helped with this matter at all. The washer stopped working in August. I had it serviced August 30, 2021 and had to wait over a week. AGAIN the washer stopped working and have been waiting for the SAME part to come in to have it fixed yet AGAIN. When I called I was told it would be another 5 to 7 days. This is beyond frustrating and uncalled for.
Apparently you do not stand behind your product. A new washer should not be having this much trouble.
It is a HUGE inconvenience and will talk to whom ever will resolve this matter.
Pedestal model GFP1528SNWW
Terrible ! We bought a new GE washer and drier and also the G.E. Pedestals to make the appliances higher. $250.00 each by the way. One of the pedestals was delivered with a broken sliding drawer. We contacted our retailer and were informed that G.E. warranty is provided directly by G.E. . The retailer contacted G.E. and the G.E. service guy came out and informed us that the plastic parts in the drawer were broken and they would have to replace the entire pedestal. Weeks go by. I call G.E. and nobody can find a record of our case. I get elevated to their higher level of service ( thats an oxymoron) and I E Mail all of the information including invoice numbers, model numbers etc etc. Weeks go by and then I receive an e mail reply:

Never mind that the unit was delivered with the defect. This response is idiotic and falls well below any standard of customer care that I am aware of in the appliance industry. At this point, I have visited our retailer and asked them to replace the unit with one that is not broken and work with G.E. to take back or credit their cost for the defective unit. So far, it appears that the retailer is cooperating and sees our side of the matter. The amount of time involved with all of this nonsense is " a lot" . Between hold times on the G.E. system and visiting the retailer in person, several hours at a minimum.
GE WASHER GFW850SSN1WW - Replacement Washing from Sears Home Service
Upon Delivery in June this washer had problems, constantly tripping the circuit breaker . Placed a service call under GE Factory service. GE Factory Service Subcontracted the call to JDS Appliance Repair. The serviceman from JDS Appliance Repair looked over the washer and said he would order parts a Power Control Board and a Wire Harness. This was in the Middle of June it is now October and I cannot get anyone on the phone from JDS and furthermore I cannot get any assistance from GE to assist with this service call. I will not tolerate this lack of service and communication with customers and passing the buck by GE to interdepartmental numbers who is essentially the same number I called initially at GE, only different vernacular used to describe the department. My next step will be to contact an attorney to obtain a resolution for this service issue.

Stackable washer/dryer
Purchased April 8, 2021 from Leon's (Dartmouth, NS, Canada). Aug 5 called about problems with the agitator in the washing machine. First available date for repair Aug 18. Needed parts, waited 2 weeks. Parts installed, had to call back as same issued happened after repairs were completed. Two weeks later, same issue. Now need a new referral from GE for repairs, estimated time 2-3 weeks. GE customer service is very sorry but they have no control over the people they contract to do repairs and there is only one company in the whole of the Halifax Regional Municipality (500, 000 people) that is contracted to do repairs. In the last two months the washer has only been working for 10 days. Pushed to have the unit replaced instead of spending both my time and money, as well as GEs, to keep trying to fix it.
Was told they would not replace the unit until it was determined that it was no longer fixable - GE makes that decision.

GE hp Turbo washer
It has to have designed by a man whose wife never let him near the washer! When it says full fill, you get about 7-8 inches of water. That is not a full fill. I live in an apartment complex and they provide the cheapest appliances known to man. I know that it is supposed to weigh the size of the load before it fills. I have gotten a full fill about four times since it was installed, back in April.

8 month old dryer still under warranty
Still in complete shock at the fiasco I have been going through. Last Tuesday (9/21/21) a week ago now, we had Asurion (a company in MI that GE set us up with) come out to fix a squeak in our dryer. They could not figure it out. Mentioned we were probably overstuffing the dryer and that we should leave space at the top of the load and left. Tuesday evening we put in just a few towels that needed to be dried…..definitely "left space at the top of the load" as we were told, AND IT WAS STILL SQUEAKING. But, if that was not irritating enough, our dryer NOW had no heat. Call first thing on Wednesday to Asurion because they left us a number to call. I was transferred over to someone who I am positive did not know english, nor understood what I was trying to say. My call then got picked up by this sweet little southern girl who had no idea how I had connected to her. She put me on hold and I was then picked up by another man who had no idea what he was doing on the phone with me. 45 minutes later the call dropped. Thursday I call, get transferred, get disconnected. I call again, get transferred, man picks up who is clueless. I get transferred and I then am told a new company has been contacted to come take care of my dryer but, they cannot come until next week. I have 10 people in my house. "My dryer WAS BROKEN BY ASURIION, why are THEY not coming back immediately to take care of this?" The man hung up on me. I call again. YEP, you guessed it….transferred to someone clueless that does not speak english well and was told to hold. 35 minutes later that call goes over to a message that tells me the importance of getting a COVID vaccine. Friday morning I call my local Home Depot, where I purchased the dryer. The manager says he put in an "emergency" call to have someone fix my dryer to GE and that I would get a call back…….sitting here the next Tuesday morning, no call, no dryer for my 10 people in my house! JUST AFTER MY HOME DEPOT MANAGER SET THIS UP I called Asurion back because this is THEIR FAULT and they should be responsible for it. I speak with "May", she tells me the only way to get someone here to fix it is to have her transfer me to GE because it is their product warranty and THEY need to set the visit up. My call disconnects. I call back and speak with another lady at Asurion and explain the entire 3 day hassle I have been dealing with. She assures me that the ticket order for the item to be worked on has to go through GE and that she has put one in letting them know the importance of the issue BUT they would not be able to get back to me until Monday. AGAIN, I am still sitting here the next Tuesday. No call from anyone to fix this problem, and still no working dryer. In a family does laundry everyday. UNABLE TO USE OUR (PRETTY MUCH) BRAND NEW DRYER. I cannot believe that a company CAUSES a problem after "fixing" a product and does not high-tail it back to take care of it immediately. I cannot believe I have had to go through so many hoops to STILL NOT HAVE MY DRYER PROPERLY TAKEN CARE OF. AND, I cannot believe that people are not responding or even know what they are talking about. Absolutely disgusted with your company right now!

Washing Machine
I purchased a new GE washing machine. The new washer will not operate when plugged into a GFCI outlet as required by Code. Multiple service companies have come out stating GFCI is not required which GE disagrees with. Then it was discovered that an inventer has to be installed in the unit but after several months, the inverter still has not been installed.
Desired outcome: Install the inverter or refund my purchase price

April 2019 I Leased A GE dryer from Arons in Cranston Rhode Island. I would say exactly 1 year after it was paid off and 1 month later it broke down After A long battle with Arons they took2 months to fix it .That was in 2020. Now A year later it broke again. One nobe broke and again it did not work.It now September 2021. I don't know if Arons leases bad GE products or G e products are just bad . GENERAL ELECTRIC used to be a good brand, but NO MORE!
I purchased a GE washing machine which always was off balance! Would not correct itself... when you used the spin only cycle it would fill the tank with water, and caused stress cracks in my ceiling downstairs.
The company has egregious customer service policies... it will take you DAYS to reach anyone on the phone.
Any store that sells GE products should be avoided!

The GE Frig we purchased at the Glen Burnie Home Depot on JULY 30, 2021 was delivered Aug 14, 2021 with a broken COMPRESSOR (per the repair person (Scott)today Aug 31, 2021). Apparenly, the part that must be ordered and then delivered and the repair re-scheduling will take up to another month. In the mean time, my mom who is deathly sick, and my dad who is 80 are without a frig for anything including ICE that my dad must go to the store to purchase everyday. He must go up and down 15 foot of stairs everyday for my mom. They keep the ice in a cooler for her. THIS IS WRONG. My sister who is just 23 years old and who lives at home with mom and dad to provide all their care, called Home Depot immedately, just after delivery of the Frig of 8/14 to complain that the frig was not freezing ice. After trouble shooting by phone and a personal vist to the Glen Burnie Home Depot, she was directed to GE. Who fininally came today 8/31. They have now been WITHOUT a frig for over a month. Taking another month to repair this refrigerator is unexceptable. I dont care what GE policy is. THEY NEED TO GET THEM A NEW FRIG or MAKE THE REPAIR IMMEDATELY. Bought said dryer in November of 2020. Within a month Dryer was down for 3 weeks with a no start situation. Finally was resolved. Last night (8/26/2021) Dryer made a loud sound like a horrible belt squeal then a loud bang. Now it sounds like gravel in in the dryer all the time. The only GE service company says it will be over a month just to get the initial assessment done. We are a family of four, we can't go that long with out a dryer. please solve this quickly.

I have a non working Cafe dishwater. I have had it serviced 2x. Yesterday the circuit board was replaced and it worked for a short time. Today it will not start again. I keep getting the same error messages that the cycles paused and press start to start. It will NOT start. I have been going without a useable dishwasher since April and it is August. I bought the product last Oct. and it will be out of warranty in Oct 2021. As a consumer I am demanding a working dishwasher for the money that I paid in my hard earned dollars. I bought a new home in June of 2018 I registered all my appliances right away. This washer was included with the build. It is now Aug 2021 and I noticed the washer lid rusting. I call GE and they said warranty is only 1 year. Right there is a clue of a bad product! I talked to a rep and she passed me on to another rep. I did get his name (Mr. Tourian) He said he would offer me half price for a new lid which is $40 and $130 to install because it was cosmetic. I said it is a factory defect because you didn't coat it correctly. I am in my 70's and never had a washer rust. Then he wanted to blame the humidity as I live in Fl. My AC is set to 78 all year so try again. He couldn't blame the water because I have a culligan water system on city water no well . This is a cheap fix for this company I did nothing to create the rust it is simply a defect of not coating the lid properly. I will never own a GE appliance again. There are 850 new homes going in this community and I'll be bringing this up at the HOA. GE Please do the right thing.

I loaded my dryer last night with cotton towels. I went to bed. This morning I woke up to a horrible smell and went out into my garage and the smoke was so thick you could not see your hand in front of your face. I know it is no longer in warranty but its only two years old and nearly burned my house down. Has there been any sort of recall or safety notice issued? I don't smoke and there were no open flames anywhere. This is quite dangerous. I unplugged it and put it out with a garden hose.
