GE Dryer
Dryer was purchased in December 2022; timer stopped advancing in May 2023. Scheduled an appointment on line; was advised had to wait for part to be ordered; was told part had come in; requested another date for repair; no response from JDS Appliance since last Wednesday May 31st.
Have attempted via text, left messages last two days requesting contact.. no response.
I need an afternoon appointment from 1-5P as I work mornings at a local Adult Ed Program. Last Friday offered for afternoon I was not able to schedule as my granddaughter was graduating high school.
Have asked for this past Monday, June 5th, 1-5P, no response. Again asked for this Wednesday, June 7th, 1-5P or ANYTIME this Friday, June 7th, no response. REALLY?
Desired outcome: My desire is to have a WORKING dryer
GE defective dryer
We purchased a dryer model #GTD42EASJWW on November 23,2021 from Home Depot in Kitty Hawk, NC. It already has a cracked drum. It didn't even last a year and a half. Your company knew it was defective because the part number needed to repair it is not even available.
Inspected/ Examined Naval Aircraft for 40 years so have experience with metals and mechanics. Removed front of dryer and found the (door end) front of the drum has cracked. It in turn, shaved down/broke some of the plastic clips on the inside of the front door assembly. Stopped drilled the crack to prevent it from cracking more. Back patched with aluminum and adhesive. Sanded smooth to protect the teflon support/wear strips and plastic clips on door assembly from additional damage.
Found while researching replacement parts, original part number of drum has been superseded by another number. Engineering/Materials problem?
(I will add that repair actions were taken only after first call to customer service and no assistance was offered on 2 June 2023.)
Desired outcome: A new dryer provided to us at no cost to us.
Dishwasher
3 1/2 year seldom used top of line dishwasher.
1st year: new pump (warranty)
2nd year: new pump (no warranty
3rd year: heating element acting weird and checked out (no warranty)
3.5 year: new pump (no warranty)
3.5 year : heating element won’t turn off. Cracking and popping. Afraid of fire. Need new electric board. Old one is not compatible to dishwasher. (No warranty)
Solution from company: will pay 1/2 for new board but not pay for labor. Or will give a small discount on new washer.
This retired lady can afford neither solution.
Desired outcome: Fix my lemon dishwasher free of charge!!! Damaged unit from day 1.
GE gas oven
SAFETY Issue-1st time I turned on new gas oven it caught fire. Reqstd. svc. via GE portal for 5/12/23 from 1-5. GE cancelled/rescheduled for 5/19/23-no explanation.5/19/23 from 1-5, GE cancelled/rescheduled for 5/22/23-worker call out.5/22/23 from 1-5, GE no show.GE said they called-no answer.I was home waiting & call did not ring thru as # not in my contact list. I called # back- no answer, left 5 messages over 2-3 hrs, that I was home waiting. Finally, got call at 5:15 saying sorry, to call back the next day. While waiting during the 2-3 hrs. I called the various #’s and was told, nothing to be done & that dispatch had been called & he was on his way. I took off 3 times from work and no resolution to SAFETY problem. GE does not care that I have NEW, unused gas oven that is UNSAFE. Don’t know what to do as I cannot take off any more time to meet them. I lost 3 four-hour blocks of time (12 hrs. Total) at work and issue unresolved. Who can help me?
Desired outcome: To have my UNSAFE gas oven fixed or replaced. To have my 12 hours of wasted time and taxes I paid on the time returned. To have GE Care that I am a customer who deserves consideration of my time and SAFETY.
My stove caught on fire on 11/10/23. GE wants me to pay $754 to replace the stove and they “will cover the rest of the $1200”. It was a faulty gas regulator. I’m getting an attorney.
Fridge
Having worst experience bought a monogram high end refrigerator had it for a few months constantly breaking not cooling or over cooling had few technicians come out from ge helped for a few days they refuse to replace it spent tons of $ on it and they keep sending repair parts horrible service horrible product had to throw away tons of food numerous times I would run so far away from this company and their products
Desired outcome: Replace the fridge
GE dryer GTD42EASJWW
First week it started dropping screws out of it. The service man came out and ordered a top for it. A week later he came back and had to straighten out some sheet metal with a hammer to get the top installed on it. 8 months later, this is not resolved the service man showed me that the drum is warped. We purchased this to upgrade from the 20-year-old dryer that we had. There is way to much wrong with this product. I feel like GE is going to patch it up until it is out of warranty. I really would like another dryer or a refund to get another. With the wiring problem that it has I'm not so sure that it won't catch it, and my house on fire. Yes, the service man repaired it by splicing a wire and putting a new terminal on it, but what other wires were jolted loose. It has been a problem right out of the box. We don't trust it. Please take care of your customer by doing the right thing and replace this one. So, I can give a good review.
Desired outcome: replace this dryer.
Defective wall oven
A local GE dealer delivered 3 “high end” GE appliances for our kitchen remodel and 2 were defective right out of the box. Most problematic is a misaligned door on the wall oven. The local dealer’s (Warners’ Stellian) service tech showed up 3 weeks later, said he’s frequently seen the misaligned door, it’s a complex repair and he couldn’t guarantee the repair would resolve the problem. I contracted GE, which couldn’t get a tech here for 2 weeks, can’t give firm date of parts delivery, won’t replace the defective oven from a local inventory of 34 units, and won’t accept return and refund our money. That’s just the oven. Defective dishwasher seal might be just as bad to resolve.
Desired outcome: Replace defective oven with new unit or accept return and refund our money
GE® 4.2 cu. Ft. Capacity washer with stainless steel basket
5-5-2023 Our GE washer stopped working 6 months ago. GE repaired it at no cost. The exact same problem occurs after only 6 months and GE says it's not going to cover the cost of repairs because the first breakdown was a "complimentary" repair. The same breakdown 6 months later is going to cost over $400 to repair, and this is from a GE repair man. This is the second time in less than a year that this has happened and GE could care less. The customer service person I talked to was so patronizing that it was insulting. GE cares nothing about their reputation or their customers or the quality of their products. Disappointment at being treated this way is a gross understatement. I'm angry and frustrated and NO ONE needs that in their life. Thanks GE.
Desired outcome: reapir of the ubit at no cost
Our washer was repaired in November of 2022. The exact same problem has come up in May of 23. GE fixed it previously at no cost as a "complimentary" repair. Now they want to charge me $500+ to fix it again 6 months after the first repair.
1) It is near impossible to get customer support from GE. Their online directions are convoluted and getting to a real person is near impossible.
2) The "consumer advocate" I spoke two advocated nothing but making sure I was frustrated and angry.
3) My hope is that GE will step up and take care of this since they manufactured the faulty washer.
GE profile microwave
May 4, 2023, 7:46 am
There is a serious design flaw that I know has twice caused burn injury. The door to the microwave swings downward and the prongs that secures the door when it is closed stick way up. My sleeve caught on the prong when I was removing the hot coffee from the microwave, causing the coffee to spill on my hand and burn it badly. It is quite painful. This also happened to a friend of mine who has the exact same microwave. She had a 3rd degree burn.
Desired outcome: I would like a replacement microwave with a door that swings sideways instead of down, so that this can't happen again.
These are pictures of my burn and my friend's burns.
French door refrigerator
I just purchased a brand-new refrigerator, it has been in my kitchen for 1 week, The thing sounds like it wants to blow up. I have spoken with two different people from GE. They sent a person out they said they could not find anything wrong with it. I get home it still is making this sound. I called today again and get a complete run around from them, saying they cannot replace it, as it does not work that way, the warranty. only covers the parts and that I need to record the sound and send it to them. After explaining unless you are standing next to the unit 24/7 with record button ready you are not going to get that. They went on to say that is the only way they can fix it, if they can hear the sound. This is the second refrigerator that I have had with nothing but problems from this company.
GE Profile Oven PTS7000SN3SS
The oven has a black grill on the bottom to release heat. On April 19, 2023 @ 11:17 am as I was cleaning my cabinets when I felt a burning sensation on my hand. When I pulled my hand away, it was sliced open and bleeding. My cabinet drawer is located directly below this black grill. When I felt for the spot where this happened, it was the black grill and razor sharp. I almost sliced my finger open. I have very young grandchildren that still crawl and pull up on furniture and such.
Desired outcome: This is completely a hazard and I would like it fixed or replaced with a non razor sharp edge.
Portable Dishwasher Model # GSC3500D55BB
This is the second dishwasher I have purchase from your corporation. The first on (same model #) died after 2 plus years. Then I purchase a second one Model #GSC3500D55BB at Lowes. I have had this one just over a year and it has stopped draining out the dirty water. I think you need to stand behind your product! I would like for this Dishwasher to be fixed or exchanged free of charge. If not, I will never buy another product made by you company. I am a Veteran who has become disabled and live on a fix income. I cannot afford to buy another dishwasher.
Thank you in advance.
Charles D Larson SR
Desired outcome: I would like it fixed or replaced free of charge.
GE washer/dryer combo model GUD27ESSM1WW
This was bought 3-2-22, it had a lid lock error and a tech was called 2-23-23, and diagnosed it and ordered the part. After numerous contacts over 2 weeks, found through fedex tracking tgat FE never sent the part to the shipper. Another part ordered and arrived week 4. The part did not fix the issue. After over 1 month of no washer, and multiple calls, chats, emails & over $100 spent at the laundromat, GE customer care said “too bad, you have to wait”! I had to come home early from work travel to be home for this 2nd service call and again - NO WORKING WASHER & NO ETA on repair. I will NEVER BUY GE AGAIN! I have saved all commutations & call logs to submit to the FTC. This is unacceptable; GE needs a class action lawsuit against them and I will reach out to anyone and every channel I can. I might as well but Maytag - that washer still worked after 20 years when I replaced it for this junk! Better than wasting $ & time at a laundromat after over $2000 in appliance & worthless wars ter. GE does not stand behind or for anything! Serial # AT044309C
Desired outcome: REPLACEMENT No photos necessary- unit looks brand new, less than a year- just is a lemon!
GE Garage Ready 17.3 cu.ft.Frost Free Upright Freezer
Purchased September 29 2022
Stopped working in late October. After 3 repair visits it worked until February Has stopped working twice and all you want to do is repair again.
We have lost more than the price of the Freezer in food! It has not been usable for over 60 days since it was purchased and it still is not working.
You nor your seller are standing behind your product.
FUF17QRRAWW HT617649
Desired outcome: Replacement with a different Model or a refund so we can purchase a different model.
GE top loading washer
I purchased a GE washer in July of 2021. Now (March, 2023) a repairman reports I need $500 of repairs. The front and rear suspension rods and springs are need replacement. I am quite disappointed in the quality of GE's products. This washer was 19 months old and needs a major repair. We had a Maytag washer for 20 years and it needed no repairs.
I would like to talk to someone about your inferior product, before I purchase my next washer.
GE Double oven and Range
Purchased a double oven and range and it was delivered 2/1/23. I used it one time and attempted to use it a second time and there was an error message (fault 350). Called GE and was told the motherboard needed to be replaced. Home Depot called on my behalf and was told the same thing. It was explained that this issue was a known issue with the range and GE was aware of the fix (the motherboard). I had to wait a week for a technician to come to my home to fix it. After waiting the week - the technician came without the part to fix the unit. He mentioned he came to diagnose the issue. Well - the diagnostics had been completed (known issue) and I was told he was contracted to fix the unit. He mentioned he didn't have the parts, he would have to come back March 14th to repair the unit and he left.
I reached out to GE to see if they could expedite the technician's return to fix the unit and was told they would send me the parts. Once I received the parts I would have to call back and schedule the appointment. The manager I spoke with said she would overnight the parts. I waited at my home to receive the parts and there was no delivery. Contacted GE the following day to find out where the parts were. I was told "you should not have been told the parts would be overnighted because we don't have the parts in stock". Did I mention it was a manager who told me the parts would be overnighted?
I was told by another manager they would have to put in a request for the parts and if approved (72 hour process) they would ship the parts out. I finally was given a 2nd date as to when the parts would arrive. Took off work again, waited and again - the parts didn't arrive. Called GE again the day after and no one could give an explanation as to why I hadn't received the parts, where were the parts, if a package actually was shipped. COMPLETE CLUELESS!
GE then communicates with Home Deport and mentioned they pulled the part from a different order and assured Home Depot they would get the parts to me. The parts finally came yesterday. HOWEVER, I now have to wait until March 20th for a technician to fix it.
Did I mention the unit is brand new (used once), I had to have an electric line installed from the breaker box to the outlet ($3K), the cost of the range, purchased GE hood ($777), thrown away groceries multiple times (thinking the unit would be operable) had to purchase each meal out due to the unit not working?
And you would not believe the [censored]ic conversations I've had with some of the nastiest people I've talked to while attempting to resolve the issue. I've had them hang up on me, misdirect me, give false information etc.. I've talked to some of the most feckless managers ever! And when you attempt to escalate past them you're told "you can't speak with anyone past me (most often in broken English).
I have spent over 20 hours on the phone attempting to get someone to accept how bad this experience has been and yet there has been zero effort to expedite/escalate... I get a call from GE this afternoon but the rocket scientist didn't leave a message. I attempted to call them back and learned they didn't note why they called on the account so no one can tell me why they called or what they wanted to tell me or if they needed something.
Finally, I have been a committed GE customer for 30 years. You could not have convinced me that GE would put a defective unit in your home and make the customer wait, what will be, 7 weeks to repair it. Someone at GE needs to put that bottom feeding customer service group back in the office! I have never given a bad review before today. My experience warrants my sharing with others. Those looking to purchase a GE appliance - you've been warned.
Desired outcome: I want a tooled leader with any authority to contact me.
Gas range, Model #JGB735SPSS
Hello, I had an issue regarding the wrong griddle supplied with my recent GE gas range I purchased from Lowes. When making the decision to purchase this particular model, it had to have a cast iron griddle. I couldn’t find which griddle it came with (cast iron or aluminum) by looking at the description itself so I looked under the community Q & A section. The specific question was asked: “regarding this model, what material is the griddle? I am hoping it is cast iron. thank you.” The answer given by the GE appliance representative was the following:
“The griddle on this unit is cast iron. You can find more information about this griddle on page 10 of the Use and Care manual online at this link: https://www.lowes.com/pd/GE-30-in-Free-Standing-Gas-Convection-Range/1003047124 We hope this helps! [protected]@GEA”. With that information, I purchased that model. Once the gas range was delivered, the griddle box contained the following part # WX89X10018, which shows on your website as the aluminum one. The correct cast iron griddle part # should be JXGrill1. I contacted GE at [protected]@geappliances.com and was basically told that they are sorry but told me I could purchase the cast iron one. This is unacceptable since your GE representative gave false information about this particular product. I love GE products and have purchased them exclusively for my home for over 20 years. Thank you!
Desired outcome: Delivering to me the correct item as described, JXGrill1.
#0 in dbl wall oven model # jtd3000snss
I purchased this oven on 1/29/2022. On 2/27/2023 I started the self cleaning of the bottom oven. The front glass blew out all over my kitchen on the bottom oven with in 45 minutes of starting. I turned the braker to the oven off as to not have a possible fire and to let it cool off. When I switched the breaker back on, the oven was totally dead. I called the GE appliance line and was told it would be a 124.00 for a service call only. I asked; since I am only a month off of my manufactures warranty, could they not give me a break? NO! I called the consumer line and was put on hold for 55 minutes. Called back and was disconnected. Called back and pushed 1 to have a call back. Got a call back an hour and a half later, to be disconnected again when I asked to speak to a manager after explaining the circumstances. The cost of this double oven was $2400.00 a year ago and is up to well over $3000.00 now. I realize we are in a disposable society, but this is ridiculous for 1 year on such an expensive product. Does GE not stand behind their products? I purchased a GE because I was told it was the best for service and parts.
Desired outcome: Have it serviced and fixed for a reasonable price, under warranty. I want resolution!
Washing machine
I just recently had a service call on my washing machine. It died a month ago and I have been dealing with a week wait for the first service call then another week for the parts then another week or so for the next service call to get the parts installed so it wont void my warranty. now its still not working and the service manager I talked to wants me to wait another week to have another service call to them more than likely, order more parts and wait again. This washer is not even a year old. I purchased it in April of last year and it died at the end of Jan. I havent been able to do laundry for a month. The first rep i talked to said that if it wasnt able to be repaired in a reasonable time you would replace the washer. Im done waiting and i just need to do laundry. Just get me a new replacement. I have jumped through all the hoops and have been booted out of your queue on the phone 3 times already this morning, Im done. I talked to an admin from kevin Nolans office only to have her lie to me and do nothing. She promised me to escalate and call me back but heard nothing. More crickets from your execs
Case # [protected]
Desired outcome: At this point I want a replacement washer
Monogram ZISS480DNSS
I have your high-end built in refrigerator for my home. It was installed 10/30/2020. I also purchased a 5-year extended warranty sold to me by one of your techs on the first service call this unit had. This refrigerator has seven or eight service calls so far, including the current one placed Friday 2/17/2023 for not cooling. All calls have been serviced by your GE technicians, so you have access to all the service logs. As of today 2/21/2023, I still don't have a time frame of when someone will be out to service it. I believe this refrigerator is a lemon and would like it replaced. There have been several calls for a loud noise coming from the unit. Your technicians tell me they believe it has ice forming close to a fan and yet when they come out several days later it subsides. Ice should not be forming close to fans. Maybe this is a manufacturing defect? I also have one call for the door gasket not making a proper seal and also two service calls where the unit is not cooling. This particular cooling problem has resulted in spoilage of food. My concerns are that one, your techs are having trouble fixing this unit right and two, every time I call, I have to wait one to two weeks for service. This refrigerator is empty and yet never stops running because it can't reach its set temperature. I would like this call escalated and either fixed right or replaced. This is an inconvenience for me, every two to three months placing service calls on it and waiting for someone to pick up my call. Please let me know when it is proper to replace this unit. How many service incidents will it take?
Desired outcome: Either fixed right or replaced. This unit is only two years and four months old. It should not have this many service call. Maybe a senior technician needs to be involved. Please escalate my request.
