Chev RS camaro 2016 needs new motor
My 2016 Camaro RS check engine light starting blinking and oil pressure increased into the 80s. car was towed into dealership and according to them after $300 I will need a new motor quoting out $9, 700.
Pressure test showed oil on spark plug and 50% pressure loss in 1 of the cylinders.
Dealership would charge another $1, 000 to take the motor apart to find out the formal reason for the problems and then still need to replace the motor.
Concern with why a dependable motor will not last longer then 100k miles on it. I would like to know what really happen inside the motor. Is it a ring, cracked piston, or valve problem?
[protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: old motor taken apart and/or 30% discount on new motor.
2018 GMC Sierra Denali
The transmission shudders/shakes between 40 and 70 mph, as the torque convertor clutch engages. Truck front vibrates constantly when driving. It also skips when accelerating.
Truck had diagnostic done at GMC dealership service dept. Invoice states the transmission needs to be replaced, torque converter shudders.
Truck has only 36, 000 miles. This dealership they did not have technicians to repair problem
Desired outcome: Transmission needs to be replaced and warranty entended
2020 chevrolet silverado service
The electrical outlet in the bed leaks around it when raining or washing it I have a hard cover that seals the bed except for the rail holes on top. Water comes in around the outlet inside the bed which the mechanic at team one in oakland md said I need the buy covers for the holes so water will not come in if this is true why doesn't all gm products leak also the plug does not work I now have 19000 miles on the truck warranty goes out at 36000. I have bought several gm products and hope to continue but if this is the best service that gm provides?
2017 cadillac ct6 part #22885796
I own a 2017 Cadillac CT6 luxury edition. On August 26, 2021, the temperature gauge indicated my car was running hot and the alarm from the dash sounded off as well. My car was brought to the local Cadillac dealer here in Baton Rouge (Gerry Lane Cadillac) that same day. They contacted me, I believe, the next day and told me that the surge tank (part #22885796) was bad and that also, while removing the surge tank, the hose to the tank was damaged and had to be replaced as well. The representative from the Service Department told me the part had to be ordered and should take a few days to be in. After a week passed, I called and was told the part was unavailable and they found ONLY ONE place that might have it IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY and that was in Washington (don't know if they meant the state or the capitol). This would take another possible 10 days and it should be in on the September 20th. Not hearing from them on the 20th, I went to the dealership service department to see what was happening with my car. I was informed that this part had been discontinued and may not be available and that General Motors was doing a possible redesign of the part. So my question was "so what I am supposed to do about my car AND having transportation?" I was told in simple terms, "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU." So I am left without my car, which cannot be repaired because the GM part cannot be located, no vehicle loaner because my car has 70686 miles on it, which is only several hundred miles over the warranty, and no idea when any of this will be resolved. As I said, my car has 70686 miles which I know is only a few hundred miles over the warranty expiration but given this situation, I would think somewhere in the Cadillac world, this would qualify as an exception to allow me a loaner vehicle. I have tried to locate this part, even in after market parts and some junk yards BUT THEN I WAS TOLD that the dealership may not to be able to install ANY OTHER part other then the one from GM. I have been without my car for a month, with no seeming resolve in view, and they are tying my hands in trying to find SOMETHING that will get me my car back. AND I STILL PAYING MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON MY CAR!
And if this is true, and this part is no longer available and if GM is redesigning the part, to me, this is as perfect a RECALL scenario as can be. I should be afforded some clarity of what can be done.
Desired outcome: My car repaired in the next few days. If that is not possible, a loaner from the dealershipfor the duration of my car being unavailable. Worse case scenario, GM buys my car back and make
2017 GMC sierra 2500 duramax 77200 miles #4 & 8 glowplugs bad dealer says they wont replace under warranty
Hello
I have a 2017 GMC sierra 2500 Duramax with 77200 miles.
I had a check engine light come on AGAIN so I took it to Turner Chevrolet in Montrose Colorado, the tech scanned the truck and found that number 4 and 8 glow plugs were bad and needed to be replaced. I told the tech to replace them. Joe the service writer called back and told me the plugs were not covered under warranty I said fine I will get back to you.
I just had #8 glow plug changed at Chevrolet of Twin Falls in Idaho no issues there. Twin Falls said its an engine component and I agree. Turner Chevrolet says it`s an emission component! I don`t agree!
What say you? Everything all the research tells me they are covered to 100K, please let me know.
Regards
Steve Smith
Desired outcome: I would like the glow plugs changed under warranty as I believe they should be
Warranty Denied
I recently had to bring my 2019 Chevy 2500HD Silverado to the local dealer because the emissions systems error engine fault came on and limited my speed. I searched the internet before going to the dealer and found the 6.6 Duramax is known for problems with the DEF tank and oxygen sensors going bad at various mileages. The dealer stated it was indeed the sensor in the DEF tank had shorted out, they denied the repair under warranty because they said my harness was covered in red clay. I do not deny that claim, however if the plug in was water tight it should not matter. What is to prevent this from happening again just because of road water during a heavy rain? Did all the people with this same problem have red clay on their harness also. I highly doubt it, this is a clear case of GM denying claims to save money. They need to figure out the problem and issue a voluntary recall.
Desired outcome: Repair under warranty
Dealer refused to honor GM offer
I made an on-line appointment for an oil change and four tires. I received an appointment confirmation 9/23 From noreply@gm.com to Vernon Chevrolet
Vernon CT on 9/24 for
4 Firestone All Season @ 119.39 /ea, Installation $0.00/ea
Oil Change.
Arriving at the dealer they did not have the tires and offered me some other brand at roughly twice the price installed. The dealership seemed confused about what happened and refused to follow through.
I noticed some new Firestones for another customer in the service area so I suspect they could get them - just didn't want to honor the offer.
How is it that GM can make an appointment and a GM Dealership refuse it?
What I want is for GM to require Vernon to honor the offer.
Desired outcome: GM to require Vernon Chevrolet to honor the offer.
Hutchinson auto mall gmc
I own a 2012 gmc acadia. On september 10, 2021, it started making a beeping sound as if i had left the door open with keys in ignition, then words came across the dash, "turn engine off, overheating". I was just about to pull into parking lot at work. So i called my insurance company to schedule a tow for when i got off work the next morning. Vehicle was towed the next morning to hutchinson auto mall about 630am. I called them when they opened at 730am explaining what was going on. I had to keep calling to check on vehicle and when i was told it would be ready and i go out to get it, they would tell me something else was wrong with it. Yesterday, september 20, 2021, i was told it would be ready. I told the service desk that i worked part time right on riverside drive and i would just come after i got off at 3pm, he said okay. So, when i went to get it, one of the parts that needed replacing was ready however they did not have the bolts to attach it and they would not be able to mail it out until the 29th of september. Do you understand how frustrating that makes me feel. So, hutchinson gmc auto mall will have had my vehicle for about a month. The only good thing that came out of it, was they gave me a loaner vehicle last week. But through all of this, no one is communicating with no one else. The tech did not communicate with the service desk and the service desk did not communicate with me. One of the reasons i started taking my vehicle to hutchinson was because i heard great things, but after this, i am thinking those customers were paid to say great things. I have never been so disharden before in my life. After i get my vehicle, they will never have to worry about me going back to them again, even if i have to drive to another gmc dealership.
2013 Encore
In 2019 our Encore's turbo needed to be replaced. GO Surrey GM Dealership said it was under warranty. A week later they said no. They asked us to provide oil change invoices, which we did. They said its not covered. So we paid for it. Drove it off the dealership, 15 mins later broke down again. Had to pay to get it towed back. More problems, more money. Weeks later engine light kept showing up. Toke it back multiple times, each time costing more money. Around mid August 2021 my wife and young kids were driving out of town for a vacation. 4 hours out of town it broke down in the middle of no where. No cell reception. Finally found someone, paid to get it towed to the same dealership. Would not call me back to let me know what's going on. Decided to go there and they said its gonna cost MORE money. Paid them $200 and went to a 3rd party and found out the turbo again blew and engine is gone. We have been going to the same dealership to get our oil changes and the turbo blows again? This dealership has been putting my family in an unfit and unsafe vehicle. We have spent over $6000 in this vehicle. The 3rd party has said the dealership missed a major factor in their diagnostic check every time we were there. The oil has been burning causing damage to the vehicle. The worst customer service from dealership and GM of Canada. Absolutely have no care of their customers safety!

2015 Gmc Denali 1500 pickup
Shocks went bad front end leaking. Causing issues. Was told by dealer none in stock gm was working on the problem making new shocks, whenever I called to get the shocks I was told over and over back ordered 2 - 3 weeks. For about a year. And $1700.00 To replace defective shocks.
Front brake rotors flawed. Lines in rotors showing weak spots had to replace at 53, 000 miles. $250. To replace. Pads no wear. Reused.
Roof leaked at satellite antenna causing it to short. $500. To fix and replace. Told them never mind. I looked up the cost of the antenna it was $75.00 for the part so $425.00 for labor that is ridicules. The antenna dried out working fine with no repair. I was a loyal GMC truck person. This is my third truck and one Jimmy suv. I will not look to your product again.

2020 silverado 1500
I bought a used silverado from my ford dealership. I told the salesman I wanted a crew cab, 4x4 and a towing capacity of 11600lbs minimum. He called and asked if I had to have a Ford f150, I said no and he said he had the silverado with an 11600lb towing capacity. I bought the vehicle and got a letterfrom chevrolet in July saying the label on the vehicle was incorrect and the vehicle had a 9600 lb capacity and they would replace the decal with a corect one. I bought this vehicle because of the towing capacityu-a replacement tag will not suffice. The decal and the vin both say towing capacity 11600 lbs.
Desired outcome: retro fit to 11600 lb towing capacity
GMC Sierra AT4
Hello. I purchased this vehicle in January of this year. I own a 2021 GMC Sierra AT4. Since I owned the vehicle it has been towed twice. First time was when it had around 3000 miles on it and the issue was the ECM Module. I now have 10, 000 miles own it and the Lifters on the motor are bad and need to be replaced. It has been in the shop now for 2 weeks. I have owned several General Motor vehicle. I currently have a 2006 Chevy 1500 runs great. I also have a GMC Yukon Denali hardly any issues. I am very frustrated with my Sierra product as of now. My biggest fear is if I keep the vehicle and warranty runs out what other issues will I have.
Desired outcome: Possible new vehicle? Extend my warranty.
Davidsons chevrolet in Watertown NY
Check engine light came in on my 2017 equinox which had an extended warranty purchased from the dealer. They scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks away saying it was safe to drive without even looking at it. I contacted Chevy.com and chatted with a representative who sent me to fucillos in Adam's NY. Fucillos refused to even look at it unless I agreed to pay for the diagnostic. So now I'm left with driving a car that the engine will probably blow on because the cam is off.
Desired outcome: The car fixed under warranty
2020 gmc sierra duramax 3.0 unreliable lemon
45 days in repairs for same exhaust emissions issues. Excessive waiting for repair, no truck loaner available, dragging their feet when I requested buyback/, lemon. Dealership has not been helpful. Most unreliable vehicle ever! Do not buy a gmc vehicle unless you want it to be in the repair shop for 20% of the time you own it. Highly disappointed, and causing much uncertainty stress for a stage 4 cancer patient
Desired outcome: Vehicle replacement
GMC Sierra Denali
There is a reason this site has a one star rating.
You know about the engine failure on the Chevrolet and GMC trucks due to your lifters. By not coming clean, someone is going to unleash a class action suit. Good news it won't be me. But someone is going to get killed when their truck, brand new has a lifter failure that locks the engine at a very bad time.
Me I just have to deal with the fact my 68000 dollar truck had a complete engine failure 200 miles away from home. Don't have my truck for weeks. And your only gonna replace half the lifters you know are bad. And I understand even if you replace it's really a design problem.
It took me 20 years to join the GM nightmare after my previous experiences. Owned Honda's, Toyota's (including Tundra) Infiniti (Really Nissan) and this one is really gonna sting three Ford F-150s. No big or quite frankly minor issues.
All I can do is tell everyone I know about your little lifter issue. Get through the 3 year lease and run. Never ever touch a GM product again. I won't hurt you but the fact I now that one dealer has 18 of these failures in house right now. Take that times my anger at all the dealers. Well you might want to consider coming clean.
Your GM, you won't come clean it's what you do, at least it let's me rant. As I said I just want to minimize my pain with my 2021 GMC Denali (Piece of crap addition) and walk away. So I won't be the architect of the class action suit.
But someone will.
Have the type of day your owners are having.
Desired outcome: Fix my truck and tell the truth to 1000s of other owners suffering this engine failure many under 5000 miles
GM service in Kitsap County Washington
The Wife and I purchased a 2020 GMC Denali Dually on July 2020.
Took vehicle into Grey Chevrolet for check engine light appt was on 7/15/2021.
After sitting on the vehicle for 5 days all they did was clear codes and said was good ( RO # 6100456/1) picked up truck and engine code was still there could not even get the service writer to acknowledge me when i went back in.
Took truck to Bellevue GMC (was Kirkland GMC) where i bought it. (invoice GCCS315919) they found that they had to replace two injectors.
Shows me how Grey takes care of GM customers. Word of mouth goes a long ways.
Now that i have to go to Bellevue for service which is 1.5 hours away that is unsat.

2021 gmc 3500HD
Clunking noise from the rear of the truck, dealer states that they have to replace both packs of leaf springs, they found loose bolts in the rear suspension, and they found loose bolts in the front suspension…… this tuck has 8, 000 miles on it and has been babied! I could have died of the suspension failed at freeway speeds. I will never own a GM
Desired outcome: I want GM to buy this lemon back, I will never feel safe having my family in this ever again.
GMC Yukon SLT 2015
I have been a very well pleased GM Customer since 1995, currently very unhappy, after weeks of talking to your phone answering service with no satisified results, I have a problem with the Brake Light (Drivers Side) Led, after recent normal service at the dealer, the Tech. wrote on the bottom of the Multi-point inspection sheet, "No Brake Light" I did not notice the information untile I got home and callled the dealership back and they informed me there had been a service order N182180270 to replace defective light which expired May 1st, 2921 or 72, 000 mile, my truck was in for service on 5-12-21 with 61, 000+ miles,
I believe you could make an exception in my case and would really appreciate it.
Your phone service, did finally tell this had to be diagnosed by the dealer which would take all day, dealer advised no loner vehicles available, which I cannot do, I even ask to have part sent to me and I woud install and return defective core to you, no such luck I just need your help, vin# 1GKSZBKC6FR554498.
Than you so very much.
Desired outcome: Replaced Light Assembly
Chevy malibu
The car is presently in the shop for the third time.It has been on since last Wednesday.Engone light on it stalls and runs like crap. They have done numerous things and can't find the real problem .The car is only 2 years old and I am way beyond frustrated. I honestly don't think they know what's wrong with it . They replaced a oxygen sensor then another sensor then the air filter but the problem won't go away. Most repairs have so far been under some kind of warranty.I refuse to pay for a repair that's not getting resolved
Desired outcome: Fix the darn thing right or do something
