I have been taking the 7:05 bus from Mfuleni to Cape Town for over a year now.
For the past week it has been arriving later than usual and there has been a change in the driver, usually it is a female driving. I don't really have a problem with this as i know traffic has been hectic.
Everyday the 07:05 bus is a very old bus. I admire the female driver because she always gets us to work safely in what looks like a death trap. The breaks sound faulty, the bus reeks of oil and diesel and its just not safe. She doesnt always have the same bus everyday but its always an old bus that looks likes its not safe for commuters.
I am fed up and so are the customers and we dont have a choice but to get on the bus.
In the week there was incident in which the bus we were in misted up so bad that the driver said he could not see the road! and the rain was falling through windows.
We have asked the driver why she is always being given the old buses.
I would appreciate it if this is looked into. In my opinion these old buses should not even be on the road because it would not pass a roadworthy test. It is putting the passengers on the bus at risk and the commuters on the road.

Good day i want to report that on 18/05/2017 i was taking a golden arrow bus no 4867 and registration CA990-586 from bellville terminus, the bus was leaving the terminus at 14:00 to Makhaza . As I was sitting inside the bus while the bus driving i started to read the ticket since it was my first time to take a bus, i notice that the date on the ticket is 17/05/2017 time 3:15, then i become suspecious, i check the change and it was 20c after i payed R14-00 for the fare. When i get off i took bus no and reg, i avoided to talk to the driver, he's an african male + medium age with spetacles, reporting for fether investigation, feed back to [protected]@gmail.com

Good day,
I am not a bus commuter but would like to report on the bad driving of a male driver. On Wed 17 May between 7:10 ad 7:45, Driver of bus SG4874 | CA 117 965 continuously drove up against my vehicle from behind nearly knocking my vehicle and also cut into lanes. We were on Frans Conradie drive between Monte Viste Blvd and the N7. Even with daily peak time traffic general road rules still apply, this driver clearly did not know the meaning of a "safe following distance". He got delayed at a bus stop but I managed to pass me again while on the N7.
Do they first need to cause an accident to learn?

I mean is that how you train them to treat the passengers? No I don't think so. Hi I would just like to report the filthy behavior of a driver who deliberately slammed the bus door against my foot while I am standing half way in the door ready to enter.
Occurrence:
Me and my friend was approaching the bus at approximately 12:54 pm as we just checked the time before we entered the bus. We got into the bus to pay by cash as we ran out of clips on our clip card and the driver told us that he does not have change which in the first place is not our concern or problem. Immediately my friend jumps out in rush to make change at a tuck shop stall right next to the bus on the pavement so close almost touching the bus and as she got out I politely told the driver my friend is getting change for him so we can pay because he does not have change. Immediately the driver lashed out in rage saying I must get out of the bus. I then told him "but its not 1o'clock yet" my friend is just getting the change quickly right next to his door on the pavement as he also sees her making change. As my friend comes back he really deliberately slams the door while my foot is hooked inside the bus and im standing outside, he then starts the engine of the bus and on top of it insanely drives forward a few inches while im caught with my foot in the door and cannot move. Luckily as my friend approaches the bus door standing in shock not understanding what is happening with the driver and as we both stand at the door in shock he eventually opens the door and we have no option but to get in and as i'm limping into the bus up the steps with a swollen foot he further shouts at us as we get in after what he done and myself being a person of morals, values and ethical principles and not to mention a female who cannot defend herself against an abusive bus driver who illegally assaulted me in the process. I felt so embarrassed & afraid as he took advantage & did it in front of school children that boarded the bus who couldn’t say anything back to the him but my friend was upset and I asked him if he would do that to his wife or his children and he said yes and that is when we said to him that he is the abusive type who abuses woman and children because he did it in-front of school children in the bus and said he would do it to his wife as well. We then said that we are going to report him and he then lashed out again... Slightly stopping the bus & told us to get out of the bus after we paid him. Can you believe this mad man. I then said to him how can you tell me that after I paid you and you even injured me and now you really decide to chuck me off the bus.
We then refused to get off and he drove on and as soon as I got home limping into the house I told my husband about the drivers rage and what had happened and we decided to report him online.
There was also a camera with an active green light inside the bus recording the driver’s behavior as proof of his misconduct and I am planning on appointing a lawyer to sue golden arrow for assault against me as well as for internal and external injury to my body within my leg from my foot where the swelling occurred. Please let me know a. S. A. P regarding the orderly legal steps of decently approaching the matter. I have not yet, but also planning to publish it on facebook if I get no response from golden arrow towards this serious matter. I also took a photo of my injured swollen foot.

Bus 4511 @ 15:40 ftom Killarney via Montague drive to delft drives past passengers and the bus in not full. This driver is arrogant and to top it off he charges customers half price and pockets the money... If you don't have a clipcard he issues u with one and deducts R20 and just politely puts this cash in his shirt... Your bus services is deteriorating from bad to worse and to top it off corrupted drivers... Change ur drivers as they become to acquainted with passengers and this is how corruption start... We paying for your services and the salary of that driver and we get neglected as valuable customers for years... My City must really take over every route asap

The bus from Panorama to Harare Via N1 City is always late. it is supposed to arrive in N1 city at 19:30 but it has been arriving late, about 20:00. that is like a whole 30 minutes late. the worse part about it the driver doesn't give a ### about us and the fact that he is late because on top of him being late. when he is driving he plays with his phone while driving. when we complain, he either ignores us or answers us recklessly.
This is not on. I buy a bus ticket every week from golden arrow and for this now to happen is just not on. I take the bus from N1 city to Harare, supposed to get the bus at 19:30 and then get off at Total garage in Khayelitsha to get an interchange bus but because of the bus being late always for the past 6 or 8 weeks I haven't been able to catch the interchange but. this means I have to have R8 now to catch a taxi to get to my area because I am staying in Zwezwe in Khayelitsha so there is no safer bus for me to catch but the Harare bus.
Yesterday my colleague was mugged when she got off the taxi at Kuyasa because it was late. if the bus had arrived in time then she would have caught the interchange bus and would've been safe now.
I am appealing to Golden Arrow to get rid of the driver and get us a driver that knows and cares about the fact that he is transporting breadwinners and children's parents.

The bus from Panorama via N1 city to Harare is always late, instead of arriving at 19:30pm the bus gets TO N1 city at 20:00pm, then we dont get the inter change bus that we use at total garage Bonjour in Khayelitsha by the time we get there because the interchange bus is already gone everyday, which is inconvenience for the us customers because we have to use taxi, and i was also robbed because we get to Khayelitsha past 21pm . The bus driver uses his phone while his driving, always cheeky when we complain and drives slowly. And even told us that we must get used to him being late.

I have rushed to take a Philippi Bus from Century City got my bus ticket clipped and made my way to my seat as I often take the bus just to find out th bus no longer goes pass Vangate mall. I then consulted the bus driver that confirmed as he referred me to speak to the official. I then make my way to him, and waiting till his talking to a women with regards to his personal life I wait patiently till he completes and acknowledge me I then explain that I got in The bus and got my bus ticket clipped and the bus does not go pass vanagte mall. He then listens and says so you got on the wrong bus and you got your bus tickets clipped! And you now want me to put you in a other bus! I have never been humiliated as 4 women starring at me while his being sarcastic and not even helping me. I just feel that there was no respect as I waited till he completed his conversation will the women to tell him more situation and his response is rather sarcastic. I seriously dislike the way he spoke to me and had no sense of urgency to assist me. I then returned to the bus and took the wrong bus home.
I am complaining about late bus services
Golden Arrow should be ashamed of the service they provide to people not only are the busses late every single day without fail, when calling in to complain the response is to take an earlier bus where as. That early bus is always late aswell. The justification for the late busses are due to the fact that they broke down. How can a transportation services operation with busses that breaks down every single day. It is appalling to say the least. No resolution is offered, no compensation and the problem still persists. The city of Cape town and golden Arrow have seriously failed in delivering on there promise!
charging extra for an item?
Today at about 12:45 a Bus driver at Mitchell's Plain Town Centre, claimed that myself and my mother had to pay extra for a 10kg bag of potatoes. To us this is unheard of to charge during a weekday, he charged us R7.30c extra when the potatoes was kept on our lap and not on the seat. I would love someone to explain the details regarding this incident, to clarify whether this protocol has always been this way or not? The CA bus number is: 749889

As I live in Mitchell's plain in a quite dangerous area close to kapteinsklip station, I know in the morning the city buses come from the station, the station is not that far from me but quite dangerous to get to safely at 05:40 in the morning, I have been using golden arrow bus services quite a few years now however the manner in which the driver spoke to me was appalling and plain rude. The bus stop is quite far from where my house so I'd walk out of my back gate as it is on Eisleben drive, I'd stand on the opposite side of the road and buses would always stop. This morning I get onto bus 4149 and the driver just says 'This is not a bus stop, next time I'm not stopping for you I'll drive pass you like I did before'..well so much for great service, well done golden arrow! Try training your staff on some customer etiquette, maybe then you'll receive less complaints.

I am a Golden Arrow commuter on the route, Atlantis to Bellville, and I must say, I find it absolutely horrifying the quality of service providers, Golden Arrow subject their loyal commuters to.
For the past two years now people have been logging complaints and it seems by the way the situation persists, that Golden Arrow just could not be bothered. It is for that reason that people just have given up logging complaints, and it would even seem that that particular driver can now openly have a vendetta with such person that dared log a complaint.
I feel compelled to bring it under the attention of management at Golden Arrows, that you are actually dealing with real people, with real lives and real responsibilities and real families, that depend on us to go out and earn a living, and return safely and timeously so to continue with our responsibilities at our various homes.
For months now, there have been complaints about a certain driver everyone calls Vraagom. I don’t know if this man is untouchable at Golden Arrow, if he has some higher authority protecting him, or what it is that he has backing him, but the way he treats YOUR loyal commuter is an absolute disgrace. Yesterday I was standing at the bus stop in Hugo road, just over the bridge by Halt Road Elsies River. With my arm far outstretched while he was still a good distance away, he looked me right in the face, and drove past me with scores of empty seats. Even I from where is was standing could see there is plenty of space. He proceeded to the bus stop in Franse Conradie, stoped there, and picked people up.
He does this every chance he gets, drives past you the one day and stop for you the next day. Two weeks or so ago at the bust stop in Jan van Riebeeck, opposite Pick n Pay, we were still standing at the stop, the door was still busy closing when this woman go there and wanted to get in. There was a long line of traffic standing at the robot, which was still red. He told her “NO”, in so many words. NO he will not open the door. We were still standing at the bus stop and stood there for a good almost a minute before the robot turned. He literally refused to open the door for her even though he had no reason to, and we all asked him to open for her. This woman have small children, one which she still needs to fetch at crèche, . She now, has to add to her already overly stretched budget, to pay for someone to get her baby at crèche, and keep him there, because a miserable bus driver decides, she can wait for the other bus. She still needs to fetch her kids, bath them, cook for them, clean her house, help with homework, and still get everything done to at least get in bed at a decent hour, to only be up while it’s still dark outside to get to work and earn a living.
We as loyal commuters of Golden Arrow is sorry that we come from a community where we cannot afford domestics and private caregivers so that we can get home whenever it suits the bus driver Vraagom. We are sorry that we are not prestigious enough for Golden Arrow to consider us to be human and at least be treated with respect. We just ordinary citizens that is reliant on a public transport system which we actually do not get for free, to put food on the table and a roof over the heads of our not so important children. That very same woman he dropped at a bus stop almost a kilometre away from where she was to get off, only because he felt she pressed the button to late, which she actually did not. This as when we had that blazing heatwave a week ago, and she had to walk back in that heat, plus the distance to her workplace. Have you fine people at Golden Arrow got any idea how demoralizing that is. Walking that distance, stressing about now being late at work, rushing, getting there eventually all sweaty, having to bear the brunt, not to mention, forgetting to look out for purse snatchers that can take away what little bit of valuable you might still have left on your person. Valuable that is actually bare essentials.
That same Vraagom almost took of my arm along with a fellow commuter’s, call Ilze Goodman, at that very same bus stop in Hugo road. We were standing there arms stretched out to get him to stop. He slacked as if to stop, only to speed up the closer he got to us and nearly hit us. We did not report that incident because by that time, everyone was sick and tired of reporting this man that would just get away with it anyway. For what reason must I always be late for an appointment in the evenings I have to schedule so that I don’t have to miss work, just to find that another appointment have been slotted into mine because I was late, and I now have to wait for an opening. For what reason must my children wait extra-long for their dinner, have to battle alone, because I just can’t get to everything because the bus drive Vraagom decides.
This man looked me in my face last night with an expression I could swear, had a “middle finger”on it, and just nonchalantly There were plenty of empty seats, and I was at the bus stop a good ten minutes before he passed, indicated long before he got to me that I would like to get on by having my arm stretched out. There was also plenty of people at the bus stop who can testify to this. These people made no attempt to try and get onto his bus, just me, because they are all too well aware of his attitude. There is also plenty of people inside the bus that is willing to testify to this. Also, he drove past me, but stopped at the very next bus stop and pick people up there.
So really, what have I, as a commuter that pays my ticket, make sure I am at the bus stop on time, and never does anything to the drivers to upset there mood, done to Golden Arrow, to have to continually be subjected to this kind of treatment. I was just standing at the bus stop, waiting for a bus. I COULD NOT HAVE DONE ANYTHING TO HIM!
I really would like a reply on this, because clearly, from where I am sitting, management at Golden Arrow is not capable of dealing with bus driver Vraagom, and if there is an executive member or someone higher up I need to direct this too, I would be happy to do so. This man is negatively impacting on our private lives. If this man is acting like this because he is pushing to get fired, I mean give him a depot bound job then, but why must we as the commuters continually be subjected to this blatantly rude man, and hope and pray he will stop if you stick out your arm.

The bus driver of the bus with a number plate of CA-472-202. He drove the 16:00 City via Rocklands route. I got in the bus at about 16:15. I only had a fasten R100 on me so paid with that seeing that the fare is R28. He refused to let me in because he doesn't have change. On the terms and conditions board in every bus it states that if the driver does not have the correct change for the passenger the driver will issue a note with the outstanding amount on the back and then it is the drivers responsibility to, before the passenger gets off, make a plan to get the correct amount and issue it to the passenger. It is the drivers responsibility not the passenger and yesterday the driver first didn't want to let me in. He argued with me first and gave me a bad attitude then afterwards said I should go straight to town to get change. Why should I go to town when he should make a plan before I get off which is in Mowbrey? So I have to waste more money to please the driver? That's not on. Instead when I got off he had the change. But first had a problem and wasted almost 10 of my minutes and 10 minutes of the other people in the busses time. This is totally unacceptable. Please follow up.

I to have now had enough of Golden Arrow bus drivers... they have become worse than the taxi drivers as they feel safe in a bus and protected by the cage they sit in... On way to many occasions now I have witnessed poor driving by Golden Arrow bus drivers, and it needs to be seriously addressed by the authorities. It seems to me that nobody is doing anything about this and they are free to do as they please... They just stop when they feel like it, drop off passengers anywhere, on corners, on the descent of a bridge, cut through residential areas to take short cuts, weave in and out of traffic, go through stop streets, red robots... etc, etc... the list goes on and on... I almost went under the back of a bus one morning as I came over the bridge by Wetton station. The bus driver just decided to stop on the down side of the bridge to let off passengers.
Also one morning on Lansdowne road a bus just came through the stop street right in front of me although he saw me coming... If my car did not have ABS I would have gone into the side of him. I am going to start filming them and hand the footage over to the Traffic department...!

Got a letter in the mail stating that, spending time on the Internet or answering surveys pays off, and that I'm the lucky winner of prize money in the amount of $58, 680 USD. To cover the clearing fees a check in the amount of $2, 740.00 USD, which is deducted from my winnings. And that i needed to contact my claims agent Nancy Smith at [protected] to register my claim by the dead line; I even got my own reference number which must be kept confidential.
We were where so excited $55, 940, WOW, that's a lot money. Since my husband just lost his job, and my job only covers the rent and some of the bills. We DO watch the news, but the check looked was so real, not like the other scams that i heard about. But as my Daddy always says 'noting is free' and if sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
So i decided to do some investigating on my own, since the check was from Wachovia bank, i called them and they told me that the account is real. The check was so real, that when I went to the bank the teller told me that it's real and do I want to deposit it or cash it. I decided to wait.
Wow cool a real check, so i thought... but i don't remember answering any surveys lately, so I went home goggled the company name on the check, and sure enough it's a real company, and the address matches, but It's a construction equipment rental company, so I emailed them. Asking why they are sending me money, they replied that it is a fraudulent check and that the scam is being investigated.
What the @..., I got this excited for nothing, I was so pissed, goggled the reverse address on the envelop, it's a web design company in Canada, emailed them, they know nothing about it.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
On Tuesday 25.07.23 the bus was late again. Drv. 60084 Route FHCO. The bus usually come 16.55 and the bus arrived at 17. 54. The driver was totally confused with the trip. I take this Tygerberg via Bonteheuwel everyday. We eventually arrive in Bonteheuwel and he must stop at my stop, he stops I'm on the last step and he decides to drive.
Today on the 21 July 2023 at 15:35, the designated Lost City bus and as the driver opened the doors he saw I was going to pay with cash and said that he cannot take in any cash and said that I had to wait for another bus.
Which the next bus was at 16:00 and I have already been waiting for 30mins in the sun on this specific bus.
The bus in Strand leaving at 5h45. To Capetown, when he reach Grootte schuur hospital. He put us off in the middle of the road while the uncoming vehicles drives this happened every morning. Very dangerous. Regards

They everytime come late and I've been waiting for an hour or more, then 3 busses comes after 4 o'clock then I have to pay more. It's been happening for the past 2 weeks, why so they have to do stuff like this. It's not always like I have money to pay double the price because of their stupidity and hunger for money.
Bus driving at 06h10 on strandfontein road in the direction of jan smuts/cape town, bus no 1902. had enough time to stop at the red traffic signal and omitted to do so.

The bus 4525 panorama clinic from Philippi east SAP. The bus driver does not stop at the bus stop he always stops a street away and when I asked him about it he told me that he doesn't care about me because I am not going to panorama. At times he even closes the door while you are still in the first step and that could injure the passenger.
I took the bus from Montague Gardens to Epping and was charged from Montague Gardens to Lost City, I said when i got in the bus Fire Station Epping, when I asked for my money back the driver was extremely rude and disrespectful.
This was not the first time I was over charged.
