Grand Homes Mckinney, Lake Forest Phase-2
1. After signing the contract 40 foot lot ( I signed in Feb 2023), I noticed that the base price for the same home model has been reduced to $609,900. This indicates a significant difference of $30,000 from the price at which I purchased the property initially, which was $639,900.
I haven't closed the home yet (which is scheduled at October end 2023 )but still Grand Homes did not provide any resolution despite multiple threads of conversations. Even the lot premiums have been reduced to more than half of it's price. Back then in February 2023 it was 36K know and now it's 15K.
2. The initial selection of cedar accents at the design center was made under the assumption that my brick color would be white. I paid $4000 for cedars out of my pocket since cedars would go well with white brick.
If my brick color was not white, I wouldn't have paid the money for cedars instead I would have chosen stone or left it as is. Since the brick revision was facilitated by Grand Homes, I should have an option to choose either cedars or stone for the new brick, however, I was not given any choice.
Grand Homes did not give me an option to revise my choices, I am the one who paid the money for cedars.
3. We have noticed that many of the wood planks used in the hall exhibit numerous dark black spots (multiple spots) and excessive number of hollow spaces around the planks and noticeable gaps between them. Not here and there but everywhere.
However, the display picture and the sample wooden plank at the design centre does not show black spots, as a customer I expect the same.
A solution was not provided, so I asked the builder to replace as many as possible(4-5 boxes) wood planks that had multiple black spots but refused to replace not more than a few planks, so I had no choice but to compromise myself.
I did pay $17,000 extra for wood that looks so dark. Why wasn't it even barely the same as the display picture at Grand Homes design centre.
In addition to them, here comes the Base Price reduction of $30,0000.
Note: Once you sign the contract, Grand Homes does not value it's customers.
