I've been a Groupon customer for many years (at least 8) and I use it to get some goods, getaways, etc, I had never experienced any inconvenience. But last weekend I purchased a deal for a hotel in San Antonio, TX. I never got the voucher but you could see the hotel in the groupons available in my account. I even downloaded the app to chat with one customer representative on some questions I had. When I checked again for the voucher, I was not able to long into my account . Incorrect password, and I carefully checked what I was typing, nothing, then I tried reseting the password, but I got a messaage saying that there was no account linked to my email! that's crazy. So my question is what happens with my hotel deal, and another credit I have for a restaurant, how do I get to retrieve those? I am also concerned my card info is linked to my "deleted account".
I sent an email to customer service, they have not been able to clarify what went wrong or to guarantee my personal and financial information is safe.
Groupon also deleted my account without notification of consent. I had hundreds of dollars of Groupon bucks.
Groupon also deleted my account. I had at least a dozen groupons still in there and at least twenty Groupon bucks. I was inactive for about a year, but there was zero notice, consent, or request to do so.
Groupon also deleted my account, I still have $199.20 credit in there. The $199.92 was from an unavailable item that I ordered. instead of credit it back to my bank card, they issued me Groupon credit instead, they gave me no option which made it sounds fishy and now they deleted my account.
This just happened to me today! My account is GONE and I just purchased 200 dollars worth of products and services yesterday. They won't give me an answer or resolution.

I had the same issue. De-activated my account without any notice. Also had unused deals and groupon bucks tied to it. Sent an email to them (chat function offline and no phone number listed), still waiting to hear back.

Did you get your account back? I have over usd 1, 000 vouchers that I purchased yesterday afternoon with confirmation mails including order numbers... then last night I was unable to access my account... first incorrect password... then when resetting, email doesn't exist... have tried contacting customer support but there is no information and have just been told to wait... im extremely worried if I will get my money back...
this just happened to me too, just bought like 5 groupons, one of them was over 1200 and now my account is deleted
My account was also deleted and have yet to hear a solid answer other than that I somehow violated terms and services. All i did was buy a few groupons and POOF my account was gone the next morning… they also threatened me with legal action in one of their emails towards me but wont tell me what i did wrong. Im so so confused
Just happened to me too, so the issue isn’t resolved. Trying to go through customer service, but they just ask me for all of my debit card info, and asking to identify the “fraudulent charges”.
There were no fraudulent charges, I just need to get back into my account!
I had $387 in Groupon bucks from a skydiving trip. My account mysteriously got deactivated. At first they were replying to my emails, and they said my account had been frauded. They will no longer respond to me. I’m pretty sure they just stole $387 from me!
They also did this to me (deactivated) with no warning claiming suspicious activity was the reason but never notified me. I have over $300 in Groupon bucks and hadn’t used my account since Nov 2021. I’ve verified the last charges and sent screenshots from my email and was asked to verify a card number that’s not mine.
When they ask for the details of my last purchase and I provide they still say they can’t activate and will escalate it. I’ve talked to over 10 agents in chat and email because no phone option anymore. It’s ridiculous and enraging. Different agents copying and pasting the same response scripts over and over.
They just did this to me on the 27th as well, I had $250 in groupon bucks!
I had my account deactivated with over $800 in Groupon Bucks. Many many emails to customer service, I go nowhere. Finally I filed a complaint with my states Attorney General. It has been 3 1/2 months since they deactivated my account and stole my money, and I just FINALLY got a letter back from the AG with a response that they got from Groupon...and just like that my account is active again and my Groupon bucks are there. Very scammy company though. After I use this $$, I am DONE with them!

You can write to your states Dept of Consumer Affairs, the Attorney General, anyone you can think of. Groupon seems to do this to people with Groupon bucks. YEP they are stealing our money and getting away with it for the most part!
Same thing just happened to me this week. I have just spent over 300 on it but could not login to redeem the voucher now. No one is contacting me or getting this fixed from Groupon!
Try what I did above with BBB it took awhile but they eventually let me back in when they saw I wasn’t going to stop.
I finally got back in my account- this is what I did:
Filed complaint with better business bureau and included all the specific info and screenshots I had.
They would respond saying the same thing they told me in Groupon chats about verifying last charge and a fraudulent credit card number and asking me to provide banking credit card details.
I would respond on BBB website that I was not satisfied with their response and continue stating the issue and attaching screenshots that I had verified the last non fraudulent charge with screenshots from my email and had provided a copy of my state ID.
They would respond again same copy paste response. We went back and forth at least 3-4 x on BBB website and then one day without notice I got a password reset email from Groupon and immediately reset the password and got into my account and used my Groupon bucks.
Mine was also deleted without my knowing.. did you get any resolution?
Is there a class action lawsuit it looks like the merchants are setting one up so I think Groupon is about to go bankrupt and I'm assuming they're keeping millions of dollars because I had several hundred myself and I don't even want to try because of the responses that I see here
