Dear Sir / Madam.
This is to ring to your notice the poor support and lack of knowledge of your Team at Hyderabad, India. My son had a ticket Ref No IFMBXI from Hydrabad- Bahrain- Heathrow to JFK Intl Airport on 8th of Aug 2023.
Firstly , I have given a No of e-mails to Fazal.[protected]@gulfair.com seeking clarification on extra baggage authorised to Students going abroad for Higher Studies. No response was received. I then had to seek help of others including other agencies like Clear Trip etc. wherein I was informed that an extra i.e, third baggage with 23 Kg is permitted on Gulf Air and American Airlines too. However, the VISA or I-20 / enrolment letter from the University was required to be shown.
Secondly now on reaching the Checkin Counter at Hyderabad airport one Mr Suresh informed that only one baggage was permitted on economy class ticket and that the second baggage was for Students. During the discussion One Mr Surendra, apparently the Manger joined the discussion and said two pieces of baggage were permitted on economy class, but students are allowed up to 32 KGs each. This was a clear indication your personnel on the ground were not clear of the rules of the Airlines. Finally, extra baggage charges were charged from Bahrain to Heathrow, which is again not understood, which is if Gulf Air itself. A copy of the Receipt is attached.
May I request you look into the issue to ensure harassment-free passage for students, particularly those going abroad for the first time? Secondly based on your rules the extra baggage charges of Rs 13,458/- rendered by my son may please be refunded. A copy of the receipt is attached for your Information.
Desired outcome: Improvement in servicesRefund of the extra baggage charged INR Rs 13,458/-
