Returning a product
I bought an electric wet to dry brush from the Wollongong store when I got home it was not what I needed, I was shopping at Wollongong that day as I was in the area, and I live in Oran Park so I rang the Narellan store to see if I could return the product there and they said no because it was a different franchise, so I called MacArthur Square and they said the same thing. While I understand that, I don’t understand why I could not take it to either store as at the end of the day it is one company and I believe you should be able to exchange at any of the stores. I drove back to Wollongong on Saturday the 5/8/23 which was quite out of my way to return the product and the staff member Nikki was so understanding and helpful. I am just quite annoyed I had to travel that far and could not change it at a store closer.
Regards
Emma Harrison
Desired outcome: That you can exchange at any store as I had to drive so far back and the cost of petrol is not cheap
Piercing
Hi I had an appointment recently with hair house in Queanbeyan NSW on the 23rd of December 2022 at 3:45pm to get my ears pierced it’s the second and third holes in both ears on my ear lobes so 4 piercings in total. I came In with my mother in law and sister in law.
The girl didn’t seem overly confident to do the piercings as she openly told me she was only new at it and said that she had only done 4 piercings previously prior to my piercings I told her that she can take her time and I was thinking someone would come into the room and watch over her which never happened. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and let her do her thing because we all have to start somewhere and I was chatting to her to make her more calm so she wouldn’t mess it up. we got to the second piercing on my left ear and the piercing machine got stuck in my ear and she couldn’t get the back of the earring on so she asked my sister in law who was with me if she could put the back of the earring on which she only instructed her to Sanitise her bare hands and with no gloves which I was very sceptical about. Then we get to the right ear and on the 4th piercing the machine gets stuck once again which of course she then asked my sister in law to put the back of the earring on once again and with her bare hands no gloves just hand sanitiser I was so traumatised and in shock at that actually had happened a young girl walked past the door and seen my sister in law putting the back of my earring on and instructed the piercer to wipe my ear with an alcohol wipe in which she did but it was a very quick wipe and not over my actual piercings after this we went to the counter and paid and was given some spray which she never told me how to use it or given an aftercare instruction sheet or how many times a day to use the spay which has now lead to an infection in my left ear which has spread to my lymph nodes which is causing me excruciating pain and swelling and nausea and i had to go to the doctors to get a course of antibiotics I told my doctor he gasped and was in dis belief and and agreed with me to follow through with a letter of complaint ! Im very upset and in pain I really wish there was someone to guide her and show her properly. The door was left wide open for the public to view throughout the whole piercing process.
I can only imagine this happening to a child and not being able to bear the pain that I’m in. Thank you for taking the time to read this kind regards.
Desired outcome: Refund please and an apology and I’d appreciate a response
I went to Hairhouse in Lakeside Joondalup for a blow dry today. I was a walk in, I was told the young apprentice could do it, no problem with that we all have to learn somewhere. It turned out that the poor girl didn’t really know what to do so she passed me on to another apprentice who was even more junior than her. It turned out she couldn’t do it either . I felt so sorry for these young girls . It appreared that the only trained stylist had been taken to hospital that morning so there wasn’t anyone to supervise these to apprentices, one of whom was a year into her training the other almost 2 years. These girls should be under full supervision of a trained hairdresser, instead the older lady who was in charge and not a hairdresser herself was more interested in squeezing me in. My hair wasn’t done right I was charged $50 for something I could have done myself. Surely Hairhouse should be held accountable for putting these two young girls under stress just for the sake of another $50.

I received my order in the mail however it wasn't what I expected.
I purchased the Schwarzkopf BC Fibre Clinix Vibrancy Booster
Online it's been advertised as 300ml which is why I purchased this particular one.
I was thinking to purchased this one and another product and what pushing me to buy this one was I was getting more product.
I'm not very happy this was advertised as 300ml but I only received 30ml.

The store employes
Hi my name is Jodie, I went into Chirnside Park Shopping Centre into Hairhouse Warehouse on Thursday the 3rd of November to purchase some products and a lady with short blonde hair not much below her ears came and asked if she could help me which was fine everything seemed ok considering the ladies have been very rude to me on another occasion in this same store. which venture out the front of store as the hair products I was looking for were out the front. The lady shows me 3-4 different products and handed them all to me so then I just had to make a decision. I had my 5-year-old daughter with me who was getting quite hot with her jacket and jumper on and whilst I was still talking to this lady my daughter starting tugging on me saying mum, mum can you tie my jumper around my waist pls, mum mum excuse me mum, and was handing me her jacket and jumper whilst I was still holding all these products, you know how kids can be, so I said to the lady employee who was helping me thank you for your help I'm just going to have a look at these and make a decision now and she said ok. I then put all the products back where they went on the shelves in front of me to free up my hands so I could attend to my daughter and tie her jumper around her waist and then went back to checking out the products picked out to me to make a decision but hadn't picked any of the products up just had my daughter jacket in my hand, then I noticed these ladies were whispering between and looking at me the the blonde one who was helping me was outside the shop standing there looking at me with her hand behind her back the lady with black hair with a red stipe down the front was staring at me whispering to another lady who had medium brown hair with a slight wave through it and then she came closer to me and lent over the shelves to have a look at me, it was then I realized what was going on they were treating me like some criminal. I had given them no reason to suspect that I was going to steal anything. I asked the lady with black hair with the red stripe 'is there a problem' she said with a smug smile on her face, no do you want any help there, but she knew dam well that I already had help from her blonde short haired work college because they had been whispering about me together and right at the front of the store when I was being showed the products. I felt like I was surrounded by sharks, I said that/s ok I can go spend my money else ware, they seemed satisfied by this outcome and just smiled as I walked away with my daughter and as I looked back one of them said yeah see ya later Like a smug rude so and so. This is not the first time at this store I been treated badly. about 6 months ago I went in for a haircut and was spoken to like crap and turned away quickly by this lady with short blonde hair, so I then went to Knox Hairhouse warehouse. It seems to me that the 2 older ones with the blonde short hair and black hair with red stripe are the problem. Anyway, I live in Mooroolbark that's why I went to Chirnside Park Hairhouse warehouse, but because of these horrible people I had to go to Ringwood Hairhouse Warehouse were these ladies were lovely and I didn't have a problem. here is the receipt number of the product I bought on this day at Ringwood. I'm a warehouse Hairhouse member but the day I had my hair done in Knox they had stuffed up my details in the system but told me I was in their but later realized they hadn't done it properly, so I lost all those points as I spent $400 in the store that day...

Hairhouse Warehouse Melbourne Central
This happen on the 21st of may. I am absolutely disappointed. i dont know if this happens in every store of yours but the other week i went to hairhouse warehouse in melbourne central because my friend was sooo excited to get a belly piercing. (Mind you my friend is diabetic and has stated it on the form.) My friend goes in to get the piercing and the man pierced it once and put the jewellery in while doing it UNSANITARY then took out the jewerelly, REPIERCED it and put the same jewellery in because it looked out of place to him. Okay? Why didn’t you mark it right? Aren’t you meant to be professional? Why do you have people working there if they aren’t even qualified enough to be a piercer. Now because of what this so what called “piercer” has done, the piercing has not only rejected, but the first hole is not healing because diabetic people take very long to heal. Medical tape is also applied and it is still not healing but instead causing more and more pain each day. $50 for this? are you serious? $50 for an infection? $50 for a healing process of what? more than a year? you ruined the idea of the belly piercing my friend wanted. do you know how upset this makes us? I am so unhappy with this experience, God i wonder who else goes through this. So unprofessional.
Desired outcome: Do something about this or i will take further action. Maybe a refund or something because honestly i could've pierced it better than your workers for free. what a waste of money, get better workers.
Manager
Hi, I am writing in regards to the uncomfortable behaviour of the manager Tony at Pacific Fair Gold Coast Queensland
I had a lovely young lady serve me in the morning
I explained I thought the Dak product I was buying was for my daughters hair problems
After being to her specialist that arvo they said she couldn't use that product on her hair
I went straight back into hairhouse warehouse to get a credit and was rudely told bad luck you can't change your mind
Read the receipt. I was happy to come back the next day with my daughter to exchange but Nick made it clear I had to do it then and there
He was extremely rude and I felt very uncomfortable. Sadly I won't be shopping at hairhouse warehouse if this is the way regular customers are treated.
Hopefully I will hear from you soon
King regards Raelene mcgough [protected]

Product left at store
Hi. I live in the country and do not get to your store very often. But I made the trip on 12/02/2021and purchased $230 of products from your West Lakes SA store.
Include in my purchases, were 4 alligator clips (sectioning clips). They were not packed in my bag, and I went home without them. I obviously didn't realise until I unpacked the bag when I got home, which is 160kms away.
I rang the store and spoke to Sara. They agreed that the clips were left on the counter. I asked if she could post them to me if I paid postage. Sarah spoke to the manager, Dee, and she said no it is not within the privacy policy, but they will hold the clips for me until next time I come in ... the problem is, I barely get to the city and postage would have been the quickest and most reliable way of getting the clips. I don't understand why they could not be sent out to me, when, if I ordered them online, they would be posted anyway?
Is there a way I can organise to do this? I still have my receipt. Regards, Jessica.
Desired outcome: To receive the alligator clips that I paid for.
Refused appointment
On Saturday 13th February 2021, at Wetherill Park Stocklands NSW, I asked the girl that I normally see to get a hair treatment and she told there is time to do see the girl at the front desk. So the girl at the front desk asked and she told me to wait someone will talk to you. After waiting around 5 minutes the manager Grace came and told me that she cannot...

Good evening,
My daughter and I attended the above store at High Point in Melbourne, Victoria on Wednesday 29/12/2020. My daughter was requesting a rook ear piercing ( very painful area).
The "piercer" was obnoxious, making sarcastic facial expressions and showed no understanding to my daughter who was scared and anxious to have this done. I was trying to calm my daughter down and was told to " stop talking".
My daughter asked several questions and was ignored. This piercer then said " I'm not doing it, I'm not doing the piercing" and stormed out of the room.
Upon finding him at the counter "scoffing" with a male member of staff.
I received my refund ( not in my account yet) and took my daughter elsewhere. She now has the piercing, and the team showed her support and understanding for feeling scared and anxious. When I told them what we experienced, they were horrified and in their words said " that's appalling".
My daughter and I want an apology Alfie this heinous behaviour from this staff member.
Many thanks

Delivery
Hello, I have ordered 3 products from hairhouse warehouse to be delivered as they did not have the stick in my local store for click and collect. I urgently need the products and have waited over a month.
The products have not been processed, not even been touched, packed or shipped. I've emailed the organisation multiple times and tried to call head office with no answer. There is no tracking number. This is my order number 238416.
Disgracful
I am not one to go to this extent but the experience I had with the salon and the attitude I received was appalling. I have used the services of Hairhouse Warehouse Rockingham, Western Australia for quite some time now. Jess was my hairdresser on every occasion and was very happy every time I walked out of the salon. At the beginning of the week I phoned...

29/4/23 & 2/5/23 3:21pm. Stockland Wendouree. Laura + Jessica R. Treated poorly. Staff were very rude, unprofessional, argumentative, incapable of handling conflict resolution diplomatically and professionally. They both lost control. Jessica told me to leave I hadn’t done anything wrong and wanted to buy something. Jessica called security.
Purchased November for Christmas it now 17th Dec have not received. Have tried to contact you twice no response. Have rang aus post customer case number [protected]. Pleas I want this resolved asap
I’ve been going to Hairhouse in Wetherill for a good 10 yrs but it’s so un reliable when you book with the one hair dresser that you trust only to ring them to change the appointment date and to be told this hairdresser who comes and go leaves again I don’t believe they value their customers it’s all about money coming in I really booked but was pissed off that they couldn’t tell me she already left and booked me with Tanya knowing she had already left the salon I find this very dodgy and I pretty much said if anyone in there burns my hair again as Tanya was the only one who new what she was doing it won’t be a pretty visit I have had my hair burnt and I’m wary of anyone else touching my hair but the whole complaint is they booked me in with a hairdresser who has already left if I walked in on my original date I said they would of told me on the day I’m sick it and believe they just don’t value their customers and this should not be the case
Had the same experience in Victoria - Cut my hair WAYYY too short than I wanted (my hair was long, almost up to my chest, after she cut it, it just sits below the neck!) butchered the hair cut and the layers looked as thought she cut it with a lawn mower, she left the tint on (told me it will wash out in a few washes), my hair had a blue tinge - meanwhile, I paid $320.00 for it ($40.00 unaccounted for on the receipt - when i count the services it comes to $280.00) but total is $320.00 ($180.00 for colour, $75.00 for cut and blow wave and $25.00 for tint)
I had to go to another salon to fix it another $48.00 out of pocket. Total hair cut cost $368.00
Approached Hairhouse Warehouse about the issue - all they said is they can refund $20.00 of the unaccounted for money and $35.00 for the butchered hair cut, they said it was against store policy to refund the $48.00 as i should have came back to them to fix - why so they can butcher it more...umm NO.
I complained to Consumer Affairs, they advised me to go to VCAT.
I went into the store yesterday, advising that this is their last opportunity to refund me the $163.00 ($40.00 overcharge, $75.00 for cut and colour and $48.00 additional cost to fix). They said they would speak to the owner.
I just received a call to say that all they can refund is the $75.00 for the haircut. I advised them "that's fine, I'm filing with VCAT on Monday".
Absolutely appalling service, hair dressers have no idea about colour and style cuts and make me out to be the one in the wrong!
Anyone else had bad experience with hairhouse? Considering join the franchise, any opinion would be appreciated.
So right but you forgot the part where they blame you for there mistakes
I am not one to go to this extent but the experience I had with the salon and the attitude I received was appalling.
I have used the services of Hairhouse Warehouse Rockingham, Western Australia for quite some time now. Jess was my hairdresser on every occasion and was very happy every time I walked out of the salon. At the beginning of the week I phoned in to make an appointment, to which they advised Jess was no longer working at the salon and could not tell me where she had moved on to. They recommended Markayla. I queried whether she was the most experienced, to which I was advised all the hairdressers are fully qualified and assured she would be fine. So I made an appointment for Friday 27 July at 2.15.
I turned up for my appointment ahead of time and was sat down by Markayla. After 5 minutes or so she came back and asked whether I was Melissa, I replied “yes” and she said “oh, you’re mine”.
She popped the towel and the cape on and we discussed the colour I wanted to achieve. I even brought in a picture.
Markayla brought the colour book over and said she would mix a half 8 level and a half 10 level. I queried whether that would be too dark and that I wanted a nice natural golden. She advised that because it was light we would need to go that dark. Which makes sense but knowing the colour I wanted to achieve I was very nervous.
Markayla mixed up some 6 volume peroxide to lighten the re-growth. Once washed off it was bright orange. This has never happened before. As my hair is a level 7 it bleaches quite easily. So the re-growth was redone. Still quite orange, but not to the same extent as it was.
Markayla then mixed up the toner and applied to my hair and real human hair extensions. Once washed and blast dryed we both agreed it was not the colour I had asked for. She tried to reassure me it looked nice, but as it was not what I had asked for I was not overly happy. I expressed to her that I hated the colour. Markayla then turned around and replied with “well I know it’s not what you wanted but it’s better than that banana blonde you had” which I had actually had done at the same salon. The colour that was achieved was an all over even colour, but it looked very ashy and washed out. She advised if I wanted to come in the following week she would fix the colour free of charge.
Once that was complete she then proceeded to remove the cape. I said “oh, aren’t we doing a cut?” Markayla replied “I didn’t know we were doing a cut”. I advised her I had booked in for a style cut, she checked the appointment book and confirmed that indeed I was also booked in for a style cut. As it was very late in the afternoon and she was running on overtime I said “that’s okay, if you have time tomorrow I would be happy to come in”. She had a spot free at 10am the next day and booked me in.
I arrived for my style cut and was sat down. Myself and Markayla discussed the colour again. I asked her whether there was anyone else who was familiar with blonde tones, she let me know there was and she would ask her to come over and talk with me. The only advice she could give me to try and fix it was to keep washing it, and within 2-3 weeks it would wash out and go back to the original colour. I asked whether there was anything they could do to improve the colour a little, possibly a gold tone. I was told “no, not today”. I said “okay”.
Markayla then returned and asked how I wanted my hair cut. I told her I didn’t want to lose much of the length or volume, but would like a few layers put through. She then told me she would use the razor. I said “can we use the scissors to cut rather than the razor because I don’t like that look and it shreds the hair”. She said “well this is how I have learnt to cut extension”. I asked whether she cut natural long hair with scissors, she said she did so I asked her to do it just like she normally would. Markayla said “if we cut the extension with scissors it will look bad” I advised her that this was how I normally get it cut by Jess and I loved it. She then turned around and replied with “well I am the Hairdresser and I have been doing this for three years!” At this point I was quite taken aback at the way I had been spoken to and did not say anything. She said “well I can’t give you what you want, maybe you should go find another hairdresser. I’ll get one of the other girls to help you!” I said “okay”.
Markayla’s Manager who I believe is not a hairdresser then approached me. She said that Markayla had come to her quite annoyed and they would not be able to help me, it would be best for me to find another salon. I asked “Isn’t there anyone here who knows how to cut extensions with scissors?” She replied with “all my girls cut extensions with the razor”. I advised her that it was all human hair and I had 140grams put in, so it was like natural hair. I was then told “we won’t be cutting it”. I said “okay but I was supposed to have this haircut complimentary because she messed up the colour. “She replied with “is that what Markayla said? I replied “yeah, yesterday”, I was told “okay we will refund you $35.00 for the haircut, how’s that?” I replied “okay, but what about the colour?” She said “what about the colour, we gave you what you wanted!” and said “no you didn’t, this wasn’t what I asked for and Markayla said she would fix it. Markayla’s Manager said “okay how about we give you a refund and you find another salon?” I said “okay. She walked away, me sitting in the chair and left me to take the towel and cape off myself. I walked up to the counter and was handed my money, I said “thank you” and walked away.
I managed to go into another salon to which they got me in straight away. They were able to fix the colour and achieve the colour I wanted for a third of the price I was charged at Hairhouse Warehouse.
I felt as though I was being over-charged as I was charged $90.00 for the tint and $85.00 to colour my re-growth. As I have a weave only about a third of my re-growth is showing.
I have found a new salon that I will be going to now. When I had told them what had happened they told me they have quite a number of clients come in to have their hair fixed from that salon.
The quality of my hair is now no longer the same as it was when I went in. I am really disappointed.
