I'm lodging a complaint regarding my lifetime membership to Handyman club of America. My membership was apparently terminated without my knowledge . I would like it reinstated with an answer why it was stopped.
Thank you, Richard Malkowski
lifetime membership
Well well well, i see hundreds of complaints on the web about your company, so i don't feel alone. However hadyman club of america should be ashamed of themselves about te way they conduct or not conducg business. You take peoples money for a lifetime membership, you ship them a few things, send them a few letters and then disappear. I never participated in a trail offer as you stated i would and i don't think you have most of your subscribers participating. Bad bad bad business
didn't receive the magazine since 2014
I am a lifetime member of HandyMan Club of America! Loved the service and the idea. As a member I was receiving a magazine, but suddenly they stopped sending me those! I received my last magazine in 2014, like 2 years ago! Thy have a phone number and I tried to reach someone numerous times! Few days ago I decided to try again and no one picked up the phone. I wonder what had happened with them!
I too, am in the same situation. The Handyman Club if America and The National Garden Club, lifetime members of both. I received nothing in the mail. To pay approx $300 for a lifetime membership that isn't.
I also paid for a lifetime membership and have not received a magazine since Fall of 2014. I believe its time for a class action lawsuit., so that everyone can get money back from this ripoff company.
This is a total rip off! I want a refund. I spent hundreds on this scam! I am thinking of taking legal action
I am in the same boat. I finally got a call thru and talked to a kid that sounded 15 yrs old. He told me rather rudely that they no longer print mags or send products. They are online now. I asked what about the 300 dollars I spent to join LIFETIME, and he said I can still get deals and specials, but they don't send products anymore. The reason I joined was I didn't have internet access. So much for LIFETIME mags and products. I agree this is a total ripoff. I am thinking of legal action to get some of my LIFETIME money back.
not receiving life membership materials.
Handyman stopped sending me magazines and other materials a couple of years ago. The 800 number is a non working number and this is the only sight I am able to gain any access in relation to Handyman. What happened to my magazines? My opportunities to enter contests? Most importantly - the product companies aren't getting any contact with me that they are paying for.
My husband Lee Parrish member [protected] 9 has not received anything from you since his issue for Summer 2014. You have the correct address on the mailing label so have no idea what the problem is.
Way back he paid for a lifetime membership and magazines; what is the issue?
Please respond to dparrishhome@yahoo.com Lee does not do much computing.
havent received magazine for over 2 years
I have been a lifetime member since 1996. My lifetime membership included receiving monthly magazines and products to test. For the last 2 years, I have yet to receive bi-monthly magazines and products.
What did I pay for? Lifetime means lifetime. Get the runaround from Company. Disconnected 800 numbers, no response from company etc.
What does a member (LIFETIME) HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS COMPANY TO HONOR THERE WORD. THEY TOOK MY MONEY DIDNT THEY? BUT JUST DECEIVED TO STOP. WE MEMBERS SHOULD FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO REFUND MONEY AND ALSO TO PROVIDE FOR PAIN AND SUFFERING TO HAVE TO CONTINUE TO DEAL WITH THIS.
ANYONE ELSE IN? LETS DO THIS
I like many other complaints paid for a lifetime membership and have not received my magazine since 2014. I paid for the membership to receive the magazine and test products, but feel I have been ripped off. I agree there should be a class action filed against them . I will be contacting my State Attorney General about this company.
I thought it was just me because I was not returning the unsolicited books that they were sending me. They would send them with a deadline to return them, on my dime of course, and I have never asked for the books.
Same here. Became a "Lifetime Member" years ago. Everything stopped without any notice. I'd totally forgotten about them until a friend asked me about it today.
I too got taken by this company. Was a lifetime member for many years, and then the magazines and everything just stopped and I can't even find how to get in contact with them. You're right, they didn't mind taking our money, and apparently when they had enough, they just closed up shop and breached their contract with all of us. If anyone finds out anything about this, please let us all know.
I too haven't received any magazines in a very long time . What's up? They had no trouble taking our money back then
I've been wondering about the magazine too. I thought my wife was throwing them away. lol Ever since they let Scout take over the whole operation has gone downhill. I don't think they are even in business anymore.
I contacted my State Attorney General and filed a complaint. Got a response that they are looking into it. You should do the same.
magazines and regular information
I am a lifetime member of handyman club, but have not gotten the magazine regularly for over a couple of years. I contacted the office over a year ago got one copy of the magazine and nothing since. I did get a "trial" Feb.2016 copy that wanted me to join. My membership # is [protected]. I moved from my old address last year so I have a new address now. That address is 1103 Rainbow Rdg; Bumpass, VA23034. The phone nos. listed to contact you do not work! Since you are still trying to get new members, I have to assume that you are still in business. I would like to keep my membership, but if this is how you operate I would like a refund of my lifetime membership dues.
I have been a"Lifetime" customer since April 2009. I have not gotten a magazine in over 2 1/2 years. And as far as being picked for a product trial I have had 1 in 7 years or in
84 months. Oh sure they give you this big schpeel on getting a router, chisels, tape measure. They certainly took my money, when I made a payment of $289.00. After that I tried calling them, and they asked me which magazine I was receiving I but no longer do was from the Handyman Club. I was told that's because they were from Handyman club and I could only receive the Handy magazine, well why in the hell did I receive Handyman if I was only to get Handy magazine. Take the money and run.
honoring the lifetime membership that I paid for.
When I started my membership with Handyman it was for a twelve or twenty four month membership, then they offered a lifetime membership with monthly magazines and opportunities to try out new tools that was on the market to see if I liked them and if I did I got them at membership cost . I kept some and sent some back and I continued to get my monthly...

I joined the Handyman Club of America when it first started many years ago, then came The Fisher Mans Club of America. I am a lifetime member of The Handyman Club of America I even received a (leather) Jacket after my 3rd year as a life member and spending lots of money with them. I received the Bi-Monthly magazine for years I still have them. Then all of a sudden they joined up with Scout and soon my Free Magazines (Well not Free) stopped and I started getting all kinds of spam And Junk e-mails. I guess that is Scouts part collecting and selling account information. I then received an e-mail telling me that I could purchase the Magazine (now monthly) at a reduced price.
I would like to know what a lifetime membership is to The Owners And Publishers means to them. I take it to mean my lifetime, to them it must have meant there dog or cats lifetime.
Now I think if the company wants to Make Things Right They should hold up their end Just as I did to become a Life Member. They need to go back and give me all of the magazines as promised make sure that they find stores that will discount tools and lumber and other services that where offered to get people to join your club. I am very surprised that a class action law suite hasn't crossed peoples mind.
I have not received any information or magazines from them in two years. I am a lifetime member.
I am tired of not being able to contact Handyman club of America because I have not received my Handy magazine for two years or my club bulletin for almost three years. What is happening . I paid good money to become a lifetime member and I am definitely being cheated. Am I going to start getting all this again, or is my Lawyer going to get A lot more for me. Membership #[protected]. I need an answer a soon as possible.

I, like many others, have paid for a life membership which includes magazines which fail to arrive. This club has my address and my email but has never contacted me. Evidently, since I don't buy things from them, they make the assumption that I have passed away. I contacted them once regarding this and they began sending magazines. They said they sent a...

I have been a Life Member (master) since Dec 2001. I had been receiving Bi monthly magazines and other materials from this club up until 2014. For whatever reasons this has ended. Like most I have not received a magizine since 2014 although I have been a lifetime member for 15years[2001] even though they sent me a card with instructions to phone them to see if I was still alive. It seems that their idea of a lifetime is a short 15 years.

And now they want us to subscribe to Scout.com to view premium content and such that we use to have access to, one would think that a Life Member would have access to all content.

Since 2014 or before and including 2015- I have not received the magazines. My account #[protected] and I am a lifetime member- and paid all my dues. I would like to start receiving the magazine again, and if available the magazines from 2014 and 2015. Why did the magazines stop coming if I am a lifetime member? I did not know there was a site to do a complaint, and I am glad I found it so the magazines will start coming again.

My name is Orvel Isaac and my reference number on my last magazine received summer 2014 is YYZS-003561-7ELRC4 ENAM003401. MY WIFE PURCHASED A LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP in this club which includes a quarterly magazine. I received my membership package which included a hat, stickers and a belt buckle. I did receive magazines for a couple of years - the membership was in the range of $300. Attempts to find out information on line have failed and all magazines have stopped over a year ago. We want to continue to receive the magazine and have the terms of the membership that we paid for honored. I never received any free tools to test or any of the promised benefits,

I signed up as a lifetime member many years ago. For several years I received their magazines and requests to purchase their books. Since I have not ordered their books for several years now, they have stopped even sending me the agreed upon magazines. I guess it is time for all current and former lifetime members to get a class action suit against this company for failure to render agreed upon services. My Lifetime membership number is [protected]. I have tried several times to contact this company, but each time I receive either a busy signal or a this number is no longer in service. I have tried to send emails requesting information from this company, but have not heard anything from them. This process has been going on for over a year now, and I would like an answer from the parent company as to whether they are going to honor the agreement that was entered into upon signing up as a lifetime member, or do we need to get attorneys involved. If you are a member or former member of Handy Man Clubs of America, and might be interested in pursuing this matter further, please respond via this site.
Strange, my life membership # [protected], ;that I am going through the same situation.
I totally agree. I am also a Lifetime member and the primary reason was to receive the magazine. I didn't pay a couple hundred dollars for access to their website. We can all get any of that info for free. We would need to find a lawyer who would take the case based on a winning outcome or we would just be throwing good money after bad. Very disappointing. unethical behavior
I have been a member of Handyman for at least 20 years and they have stopped delivery of their magazine. The magazine is part of the lifetime agreement. The last issue I received was fall of 2014. I can not get a hold of them for a explanation. My membership number is:[protected] My resolve would be to continue delivery of their magazine or return my Membership fees 300 dollars
The phone # I was given for the"Handy man club" has been changed or disconnected, I also have been a Life Member, for several years. And I also stopped getting their magazines months ago. I do get quite a few mags. So it slipped by me for a while. I also wonder just what happened? Ever since this so called :Scout: got into the picture, everything has gone to POT. Why has anyone been getting their mags, or anything else, or did we all get Ripped. If any won has any info, I sure would like to hear from you. lonstrixie@yahoo.com, Thank you L.C.
I have been a lift time member of about 8 years. I don't receive any thing from Handyman, magazines, no information about tools or wood working.
I would like to know what is going on?

missing magazines from my life time membership.
I am not getting any magazines from HMCofA for several months. I've got an 800 number that doesn't work. I haven't got a mailing address, what can I do, without contacting a lawyer. Is the club still in operation, or should I consider my membership a loss like most of my retirement assets. I also belong to the history channel club with the same problem as stated above. What is going on? You are as bad as all of the above. Have a nice day and God bless you.
I'm a lifetime member and have been for years. This year I suddenly stopped receiving my mags. and have been unable to contact them after trying numerous methods. Just may try and rally some " stiffed " members and ask the Consumer Frauds bureau and State Attny. General to file a class action against them.
