Awful customer serivice
I came into the Weddington corners store, on 3/2/22, to look for a certain product. When I walked in I approached Aaron for assistance in locating the item. When asked he rolled his eyes and just pointed to where it was then turned around and said something under his breath. When I was ready to check out I went into his line (his light was on) and he was on his phone, which I waited for him to finish, then he threw it down, rolled his eyes, and proceeded to rudely check me out. This is not the first rude encounter I have had with him. There is no excuse for his poor level of customer service and as a result, I will be shopping at a different location. I hope no other customer has the same encounter that I've experienced.
Desired outcome: He needs to be retrained on how to deal with customers or fired.
Customer service
We have had nothing but horrible service at the Harris Teeter deli in Cannon Crossroads in Concord, NC. We've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but time after time, we leave frustrated and disappointed. Typically, a wait time, even if you are the only person in line is 15 minutes before you're acknowledged. Today, I was acknowledged within 5 minutes of standing in front of the deli. Two employees were helping another customer in front of me. When they finished serving him, I was asked what I would like, as was another customer. I asked for a pound of Harris Teeter American cheese, and the employee behind the counter just grimaced, looked at her co-worker, and he went into the back to grab the deli item he was going to cut for the other customer. The lady that was "serving me" asked the next customer in line what she could get him, and began to cut - leaving me in the dust, not knowing if I was going to be served or not. I took a precut package - paid double for a half pound than I would've a full pound and left. Absolutely horrible customer service, and unacceptable at best. I've already needed to stop using the drive up order service in the past year as every piece of produce would have to be returned for rotting. My husband has stopped using this deli altogether in the last few months, as the average time he's spent order 2-3 items will cause 45 minutes in waiting.
Earlier this week, while in the self check out, I needed a customer service employee to scan a coupon that was attached to a grocery item. She needed an override, and when the team member was paged that could help, she arrived, and said she couldn't help, and to "figure it out, because I'm in Fast Lane today"
Overall - the experience at this Harris Teeter is horrible if you need to interact with any employee. It is a shame as it's a neighborhood grocery store, but I don't feel this is worth the frustration that ensues in some format every single time I enter the store. I would further not recommend it to any friends or family.
5 lb bag yellow onions rotten
I just picked up an order including a 5 lb bag of yellow onions. All but one of the onions is rotten. Price is $2.99.
Vic customer #46896426786, Store #385 Order #26303508,
Personal shopper was Gen.
You could see rotten onions through the bag, so don't know why she would make the selection.

Credit Card Charge that was declined
I went to Harris Teeter aprox September 22nd 2021. I wanted to get some gifts cards. But it kept declining my charge on my Shop-your-Way charge card.
The manager said it most likely declined because it was a charge account.
I wrote the credit card company and they gave me credit back for $200.00
but denied the other $ 200.00 charge. I had to go to Wal-Greens and get the cards I can prove this. I had no proof from Harris-Teeter because the register just spit out small receipts saying declined. Now I may have to pay the other $200.00 but the credit card company said you charged me so when I file a complaint it will be on Harris Teeter and Shop-your-Way. I should not have to pay for something I did not get. I did not get any Gift-Cards at Harris Teeter.
I had to go to my bank get the money from my savings and get the cards at Wal-Greens. But Harris Teeter declined the sales and when I went back to Harris Teeter the manager said Corporate office would have to go back and find it. I have more proof But I need to know where to send my receipts but just giving you a heads up. on the complaint I did not get any gift cards at Harris Teeter. Harris Teeter off Union road is the store. I should not be charged for Declined sales.
Desired outcome: A Refund I did not get any cards at Harris Teeter. Shop-your-Way credited me $200.00.
Checkout bagging
Harris Teeter uses excessive plastic bags for checkout. I regularly shop in the Belmont HT and regularly observe this in my own shopping as well as that of others. It is not unusual to have one item placed in one bag. This includes quarts of milk, frozen dinners, one pound containers of fresh fruit, etc.
If the intention is to crap up the environment with plastic that will be here in 500 years, mission accomplished. Otherwise, I don't see why so many plastic bags are used.
There are some national grocery chains that have or will be prohibiting use of plastic bags including Kroger by 2025. Why does HT do the same?
Bad Manager Store #362
Harris Teeter Store #362 On 3040 Evans Street In Greenville NC Manager David Boyko
NEEDS TO BE FIRED !
Bought $60.00 worth of seafood, whole red snapper & shrimp, 1st problem was the employee in the seafood dept. didn't even no how to clean or dress the fish... so i took the snapper home to clean it & it had a very old smell & the shrimp was the same, so took back to store next day & the Manager David Boyko was very rude & blamed me for the seafood for being old and argued about even giving me a refund and didn't give me double money back for the spoiled seafood that was purchased from the store, it was the most horrible experience that i have encounted with a store Manager in my life i have service this community with my own business for 34 yrs this store Manager David Boyko has no customer relations what so ever, doesn't need to be a Manager of anything ! the store #362 is going down, its awful all the seafood needs to be thrown away its pure rotten and no one should ever have to experience this, people could die if eaten this seafood also i should have been giving double money back for selling old seafood to a customer, hope something will be done with the Manager David Boyko of this store, ty so much please be careful what u buy from this store ! ***VERY POOR MANAGEMENT***
Compliment
Hi
I frequently shop online at my local HT in Old Raleigh Village (and have for years!). Today (Nov 12th) I ordered groceries and my personal shopper Sharetta called about a few items that were out of stock. One item was eggs, when I couldn't think of another brand of eggs I normally purchase, she got another phone, and called me back, so she could walk to the eggs and name off brands. WOW! She went above and beyond for me! True customer service! Like I said, I've shopped online for years and I've never had someone go above and beyond for me the way she did today.
She is SO appreciated!
Thanks so much
Alissa
Desired outcome: GIVE HER A RAISE! AND PRAISE!
Pharmacy staff
The "biggest in NC" in New Bern, NC, has the worst pharmacy. Average wait time for common scripts so far is 5+ hours. You know, when people are in pain after surgery, you might just get your staff to expedite meds instead of taking hours to get something simple processed. The one on US 17 in New Bern is the slowest pharmacy in town, by far. Either you are grossly understaffed or the pharmacy isn't managed well, or perhaps both. My last prescription for a blown lower disc in my back took six hours to be filled and today, after dental surgery for my wife, we are at hour five and counting. I wish nothing but shared suffering for those responsible for the uncaring attitudes and procrastination. There won't be a 3rd time for me.
Desired outcome: Hire people that do their jobs in a professional and timely manner.
Not enough CASHIERS open
At the RESTON Spectrum Center Harris Teeter on May 5, 2021 ---
Only ONE cashier was open at 8:30am. This is NOT acceptable. We pay higher prices at Harris Teeter and expect to not have to do our own cashier duties. We do not work there.
Please have more open registers or we will take our considerable business elsewhere.
We expect high service when we pay high grocery prices.
Thank you.
Desired outcome: Have many more registers open starting at 8am.
18 wheeler driver
Driver on I26 headed east in North Charleston driver was in center lane tried to change lanes to the right. I was in this lane white Nissan Quest no blinker and stated to move into this lane. The truck then weeved back into center lane then again started to move into my lane was over the white line no blinker I moved back and then he placed his blinker on and moved into the right lane. The number on the truck was 8356 on the back of the truck. I had my lights on and this was around 6-7 a.m. I had to back away so that he would not hit me and I had to move over to emergency lane both times.
Desired outcome: Needs to go back to driving school/ Dicipline driver
Covid protocol
I am a grocery shopper in the Lake Norman area of NC. I frequent Harris Teeter weekly and have become frustrated with the lack of mask enforcement by store managers. I visited the Hwy 73 Denver store and Byers Creek in the last few weeks and during both trips encountered shopper without masks. On 1/25 I even spooke to a manager regarding this and received...

I recently purchased 2 boxes of suzyq's from harris teeter in cornenius
North carolina and both boxes had little to no creme inside the cakes.
I would appreciate coupons for 2 free boxes if possible.
I appreciate your attention to this matter. There is nothing like waiting all week for your treat and it does not live up to your expectations.

bogo does not mean buy one get one free - false and misleading advertising
Been trusting h-t for 10 years to give "buy one get one free" as often advertised as bogo in their sales flyer. Watch out - h-t's bogo means "buy one buy one" not "buy one get one" as website states.
After price hikes, I took serious look at my receipt and found sales prices on bogo usually means you can get 1/2 price for one, and pay another 1/2 price for second item. Website should state fact that we pay for second item in their bogo "deal" - h-t bogo does not mean buy one get one free.
Check your receipts and complain. Thinking of class action suit for the millions of customers and dollars they have raked in over false and misleading advertising, especially taking advantage of vulnerable seniors who can't examine receipts closely.
released my personal info from Job application
I applied for a job with Harris Teeter online and they released my personal information to spammers. I can't beleive they exploited my info for their own personal gain. I applied expecting them to respect me and my information, instead the day after I submitted my application I started receiving lots of suspicious "job offer" spams which contained my personal info. I gave Harris Teeter my personal e-mail account which I only give out to specific people. Now I'm receiving a bunch of spam so I'm going to have to go through the hassle of changing my e-mail and letting all my friends and family know. Now I'm concerned about how much of my info is out there on the web and I can't do a thing about it.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
There is the "customer" from hell, a one PHYLLIS ZELDIN. She is insane, and starved for attention. Always negative and a complainer. Tries to get away with everything. Complains in order to get free stuff. She should know that EVERY employee at Harris Teeter, Panera Bread, CVS, Starbucks, etc.. absolutely cringe in hatred when she walks into the store. Nobody needs a customer like her, a real ###. No wonder nobody will do her except for black guys.
Unable to unsubscribe from website
I have been trying to unsubcribe from the Harris Teeter website for weeks.
I have tried every site shown & I still cannot get removed from your website to receive coupons, information etc. You make it so easy to sign up for all the proapaganda and vertually impossible to opt out of the web site. I get the newspaper every week with Harris Teeter specials so I do not need all the additional information sent out on your website. I an a loyal shopper when I need to be, but I want to get off this site.
Please remove me immediately.
Stay far away from Harris Teeter
I have tried to use the Express Lane 4 times. Each time there has been something incorrect (e.g., honeydew melon rather than cantaloupe) but all within the realm of reason but with a noticeable downward trend. Today 2 of the packages of meat were past the sell-by date. Three were at the sell-by date. When I complained, there was no apology, only a "we're busy. we'll call you later." Unacceptable.
Breaks and smashes food
I am finally tired of dealing with Harris Teeter. I have never minded paying the higher prices since I enjoy the fruits and bread there.
I, however, am sick and tired of having the grocery store clerk smash my food when they put it into the grocery cart. This has happened at several Harris Teeters - most recently, it happened in Brambleton.
The clerk, while trying to amuse us with rather insulting jokes, places a carton of 12 soda cans, a six pack of beer, a bottle of champagne and a glass of wine on top of our bread, yogurt, raspberries, $7 imported cheese and peaaches.
Needless to say, our bread is broken, our yogurt cannisters became ripped open and the fruit is absolutely smashed and bruised.
Before, I have overlooked this carelessness. Now, I am just noticing a pattern and it's a pattern that I will no longer tolerate given that they charge 15% more than other stores.
I have written to them and have received ZERO when it comes to a response. Harris Teeter: you may be okay with destroying your over priced groceries, but I'm tired of it.
Bad service
I came in the store to get myself a hot meatball sub and what i received was not what i
expected. The service was slow! and the employee got my order wrong. He made me wait to
long while getting a tuna out of the fridge when i asked him to make me a meatball sub.
The service area was disgusting! Unbelievable how messy! unorganized and trash
everywhere! They had all of their trays empty! and took a lot of time having to go and
cut the cheese and meat for the customers waiting. They had no philly steak available
when another customer wanted it. This is a huge disappointing visit coming from harris
teeter. The representative did not even have enough meat balls! he gave me 5 instead of
the usual 6. He did however give me a small discount when i asked. By the time i got home
getting ready to eat my meatball sub which is by the way 5 min away distance, the
meatball was COLD! they did not even warm it up i had to put it in the microwave and just
got disgusting for me to even bother eating. Did not taste fresh at all! The employee to
me felt like he did not want to make me the sub. It felt as if i was a bother to him.
This is such a shame for me that this is the service i am seeing now. I have shopped at
harris teeter for so many years and this is shocking. There was no manager present at the
deli to supervise the service. I hope it changes or i may have to go somewhere else to
get my sandwiches from now on
I have had terrible luck at Harris Teeter. Last time I ordered a turkey sandwich I got home and there was NO Turkey in the sandwich. Also, they often don't have around half of the stuff on their menu and are generally out of many of their toppings. I won't even get into the service and the speed. Its just awful.
The prices are good, so I kept going back, but I'm done now. No price is worth it for a lettuce sandwich!
Frozen Poultry Sold as Fresh
I’ve been shopping at Harris Teeter for 9 years now. Their in store staff is great, selection is good and they keep their stores clean. I do however feel they are dishonest about their own products; like labeling frozen poultry as “fresh.”
Most of the Harris Teeter's I've visited have the same issue with poultry items, i.e. Turkey & Chicken being stored at temperatures below USDA standards which is below 26 degrees fahrenheit. I’ve mentioned this to them many times and I keep finding frozen solid poultry that is suppose to be “fresh.” I was informed that the chicken comes off the truck that way.
Here are excerpts from the USDA's website stating what the definition of the label "fresh" means:
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/FactSheets/Poultry_Label_Says_Fresh/index.asp
Why is 26 °F the lowest temperature at which poultry remains fresh?
Below 26 °F, raw poultry products become firm to the touch because much of the free water is changing to ice. At 26 °F, the product surface is still pliable and yields to the thumb when pressed. Most consumers consider a product to be fresh, as opposed to frozen, when it is pliable or when it is not hard to the touch.
What does the "fresh" rule mean to consumers?
For consumers, "fresh" means whole poultry and cuts have never been below 26 °F. This is consistent with consumer expectations of "fresh" poultry, i.e., not hard to the touch or frozen solid. Fresh poultry should always bear a "keep refrigerated" statement.
Any good cook knows that frozen chicken is much tougher and less flavorful. It's a basic scientific fact that when you freeze cells it damages them and they loose their moisture, thus you get tougher, much less juicy, inferior chicken.
So, not only does Harris Teeter labeling their poultry "fresh" NOT meet USDA label standards, but also it's an inferior product to truly "fresh" poultry. I love the truly fresh chicken at Fresh Mart, It's much more tender and juicy with great flavor! When I bake Fresh Mart's fresh chicken breasts I'm not left with shrunken chicken breasts in a watery soup from the juice that leached out like at Harris Teeter. I understand it's more economical for Harris Teeter to freeze fresh chicken. It lasts longer, there's less waist; but most important Harris Teeter looses credibility! Frozen solid does not equal fresh! If a consumer doesn't trust Harris Teeter, they are less likely to buy their products. That's not economical, but most of all it's not morally right!

No promissed peanut butter!
I often shop at the Harris Teeter in Laurinburg. I also often buy Simply Jif peanut butter. On Saturday, March 17, I went to Harris Teeter and was told there would be a shipment of Jif on Monday, March 19 at 6 pm. I returned shortly after 6 on Monday, and was told that there was no Simply Jif on the truck. I have told Harris Teeter about this and will not shop there until they explain themselves.
Why is it that the same amount was taken out of my account and that i really don't know who you are.
That might be the dumbest complaint I've ever heard. Maybe you're the only ### who likes JIF peanut butter and they are tired of seeing your ugly face at the Harris Teeter.
