We purchased our Hoover Carpet cleaner on 4/05/21 model #FH50250. We paid $169.00. I have used it about ten times in the past 2 and a half years. Our home is extremely clean, so the machine was only used to freshen up the walkways and from time to time when our little dog had an accident. It worked great. Yesterday, our dog had and accident and I was using the tools. It was working fine and then I heard a loud whining noise and the water stopped coming out.
My husband called Hoover and he went through the steps that the women suggested, and she determined that the water pump broke. I am the one who uses it, and I knew when I heard that loud whine that something was wrong. I have been using Hoover products for years and I feel that this had a defective pump. With the light use of the machine, I should have gotten more that 10 uses out of it. We purchased a new Hoover today, with a three-year warranty. The serial # is AT23214DO91783 we paid $187.00 for the new one, I don't feel that we should have had to buy a new one. The old one was discontinued. My husband could have put a new pump in, had we been able to get one.
Desired outcome: I feel that we should be reimbursed $50.00 for the new one. I know that the first machine is out of warranty but a major part that provides water is an essential part.
