On January 27th, we rented a house from VRBO and Houzlet was the host in ***
On January 27th, we rented a house from VRBO and Houzlet was the host in ***. We paid a down payment of ***. We had until March 2nd to get a full refund. On February 13th, we had a tragic death in our family and had to cancel and change our plans. So, I cancelled that day and got a message saying it was successfully cancelled. They mentioned that with the bank turnaround time, it would take 3-5 banking days for VRBO to refund my $691.00. Surprisingly, on the 14th of February, the next day after cancelling, VRBO refunded my money. However, when I checked my bank statement, I noticed that I never received their half of my money back. So, I called VRBO the first time and they said within 24 hrs, I would have my money back. Unfortunately, no such luck. I called again and the person I spoke with had no luck getting in touch with anyone. I keep receiving automated emails saying there is a problem with the accounting department and that they will resolve my issue soon. It has been a month now and I still haven't received my refund, even though I cancelled within the full refund limit.

I rented a place through VRBO and Houzlet for the whole month of March in ***. I made the reservation for a short-term rental using the VRBO/Houzlet listing. They were supposed to charge my *** on February 15th for the final payment, but they haven't done it yet. Houzlet hasn't been very responsive. They keep saying they'll escalate my concerns and call me back within 24 hours, but I haven't received any calls. Also, they haven't given us any information on how to access the property on March 1st, the day of check-in. We're driving all the way from ***, so we need these issues resolved ASAP. We're leaving on February 23rd for a 2500+km drive to the area. I think they should refund the service fee since they haven't provided any service at all. Sent from my iPad.
