I visited the store to dine with my husband, and the service was excellent. Our server, Marie, was outstanding with the food order, service, and customer interaction, to the extent that I feel she deserves a raise or promotion. However, I had an issue with the hostess, whose name I can't recall, but she was an African lady from somewhere in Africa. Unfortunately, her demeanor was off-putting and could potentially harm the business if it continues. Her attitude, the way she looks at you, and how she speaks to you is incredibly demeaning. It's as if she views you as less than human, and I'm at a loss for words to describe it accurately. She should consider a position that doesn't involve customer interaction because IHOP is meant to be a welcoming place for families, friends, and couples to enjoy their time together, not a place where you're met with disdain. It was an unpleasant experience, and I won't return until I'm confident she is no longer there. In my opinion, the owner or managers need to address this issue promptly as it is detrimental to the establishment.
Desired outcome: The hostess should be replaced with someone who would benefit the business.

IHOP delivered great service with Marie, but it seems the hostess was serving up a different vibe entirely. Could’ve been worse — you at least had a positive experience with your server. Hopefully, management addresses this issue quickly so IHOP can get back to being the welcoming place it’s meant to be.
