Intoxalock Interlock device

I have had an interlock device in my vehicle for seven years. I had it in a 2001 Subaru forester that ran great, until the interlock. It killed my battery on multiple occasions, despite buying new batteries over and over again.

Now to the more frustrating part. I refused to purchase a new vehicle until I got the interlock out. The Subaru started becoming unsafe to drive, and I have kiddos so I was forced to purchase a new vehicle. I wanted to keep the interlock in the Subaru, but against my better judgement I decided to do it the right way and moved it into the new vehicle. Days after getting the interlock installed battery light and check engine light came on. I sent it to the mechanic who installed the interlock, and he had it for two days. He found “the left terminal was not tightened down so the alternator was not able to charge the battery”. This is a newly certified 2020 Kia Telluride that has had exceptional maintenance the entirety of its life. The dealership ended up paying for the fix under warranty. Just a week later my vehicle started having a burning smell under the hood. Come to find out it’s a burnt electrical issue.

Brand new $40,000 vehicle, and now all of this. I am at my wits end and about to take the damn thing out and say [censored] the state.

Please keep me afloat of the class action law suit. I would certainly participate.

Intoxalock Scam. Service is terrible. Charged. Customer service is rude. Hold times terrible.

I was required to have the interlock device for 5 years. I was supposed to get it out on 06 MAY 2022 but STILL HAVE IT because this company is a complete SCAM! First of all, it is nearly impossible to talk to someone on the phone because of all the automated options. Once you figure out how to talk to a representative, (option 5, then option 3, then option 2) you're waiting on hold for 30 plus minutes and then someone answers who speaks extremely broken English. 99 percent of the time I can't understand them. They are VERY rude and either cut you off, rush the answer to your question, or they hang up. I am NEVER told the same thing and have been given false information so many times. I almost got a violation once because I went away for Military training. They told me I didn't need a calibration because I was eligible to get the device out before my calibration date. I made the guy reassure me [protected] times and even told him that I don't want to be screwed over and that this is MY LIFE! Well sure enough, I called back while I was at training because I had a bad gut feeling... The lady I spoke to said I needed it calibrated or else it would be a violation. I had to Find a post office and mail my keys from California to Washington to my dad, and then my friends' husband had to go get it calibrated because he's the only one who knows how to work the thing. I have been charged for things that don't even make sense. My bill used to be a solid 110 dollars but now I am getting 180 dollar charges on top of several other charges. I've had to extend my lease twice because of them. I randomly have battery issues when my new date for removal approaches. I need a 4-month compliance check to get this out of my vehicle but I swear it's rigged to violate you, so you have to continue to pay them. For example. I just recently put in a review of usage request on 20 NOV 22 (which costs money by the way..) and I still haven't gotten it back. I called every single day after the request enduring the phone call headache. After a week of calling and them telling me to call back again the next day. DAY 7 SOMEONE FINALLY TOLD ME I needed to get a NEW device installed first. I was like WHY, I want it out?! How does that make sense. I made sure they paid for that because I was furious that no one had told me this yet. I was told after the installation, the usage review would happen automatically. Called them back day after day to check. Then was told that they need calibration reading up to 20 NOV 2022. I told them I did get it calibrated and they argued with me. I finally asked them to hold on for a sec and I added my service center to the call. They argued back and forth because my Mechanic knows me pretty well now since I've been going there for almost 6 years. She knows all the crap that I have had to deal with. She had to recalibrate my device even though it already was and had proof of the data originally sent. UGH so anyway now it's December, 15 days after my request for usage review, and still nothing. I had to pay for the Month of December which is [censored]. I should have had this out in November. I want ALL of my money back for false violations, lockouts, calibrations. Like what's the point of paying for a 4-month compliance check if you already pay to get the calibration every two months. They should already have that data on file regardless. I called the DOL and explained this and the DOL said they don't see any record of my being out of compliance and to call them back and let them know they need to send the compliance review right away. Intoxalock says I've been out of compliance so that's why they add time. All the DOL said they saw was when I moved the device into a different vehicle 3 years ago! I seriously want to sue this company. I have been going through stuff like this for years. This is not even all of the stuff I've been through with this company. I could write a novel if I were to explain everything. I started documenting all conversations and issues. I'm considering Sueing. Yes, I understand that I made a terrible mistake and accepted the consequences of that and doing my best to follow every law to the T, but this company is taking advantage of people who are forced to have this and don't have much of an option.

Intoxalock Device and customer service

12-2-22 I was lied to repeatedly by representatives talking broken English from Intoxalock. This company is a scam and will end up costing you a tremendous amount of money! I have proof my car was at service station at time of people trying to start my car with Intoxalock on it. Receipt shows when I turned it in and when I got it back. WalMart reps were told 4 times do not start car. I did everything I could. It wasn’t me.

Desired outcome: I want refund promised to me for issues that I DID NOT CAUSE. I have bills showing I wasn’t with my car at time of violations but that WalMart was in control and told NOT to start car. I didn’t cause failure.

They are so bad. I’m contacting legal aid and the better business bureau. Something needs to be done to them for stealing money from people. Like they don’t make enough money off of people. And with the economy being as bad as it is they should be ashamed of stealing from people who are already put in a tough financial situation.

Intoxalock Worst company ever

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY AND IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING THEM LEAVE THEM AND USE A DIFFERNT COMPANY!

This is the worst company, they have no integrity, no accountability and horrible customer service. This company cant even bother to employ Americans, but outsource to overseas call centers employed with people that you can never understand & always stick to their scripts? When you ask to speak to a supervisor, you get sent to voicemails never to which you will never receive a return call. Additionally their chat link customer support on their website is just as bad, if not even more useless talking to them via phone. The hold time and call time is by far the worst hold time and rank right up their with BCBS hold time. They always push back when requesting to speak to someone on US soil, unless you push back harder. They take their time to respond to your request such as removal of their equipment and refuse to expedite when requested. They do not care about the customer only getting their money, and nothing more. Companies like this need to put out of business and honest American made and run companies need to be put into effect! They lie, display unprofessional customer services and add hidden fees!

Desired outcome: Expedite my removal before the end of the day today!

Intoxalock SCAM/ HIDDEN FEES, Charged after contract was done

I have been incorrectly overcharged:

Data Processing fee overcharged- $3.38

Set up Fee Charged twice: $30.04

Service Date Change (all approved not to be charged): $81.93

Reset Lockout (Due to faulty installation; refunded for one, missing one refund): $54.64

Device Protection Fee: $141.96

Sleeve Lease (Never got one): $30.52

Roadside Assistance: $140.92

10/20/22 Lease charge (Incorrectly billed after contract was over): $46.97

Total amount: $530.36

Desired outcome: Total amount: $530.36I would also like to be refunded to my card for all these incorrect charges

Intoxalock BAIID device/service

A customer service rep pushed me to schedule device installation before I received my permit from the SOS. The mechanic struggled to install it, needed a couple extra days; however, the service was activated anyway. I called the customer service rep, said I still didn’t have my permit. She said not to worry, she would set the service to “pending” until I could use it. That was a lie. Service remained active. Now a month and a half later I still do not have my permit and continue to be charged. I’ve called and emailed countless times. This company is extremely shady.

Intoxalock Billing issues

Several times I have tried to contact someone on the phone for some help with my bill. I have charges I need to address with them and I am just racking up the charges! I have the legal options to use other companies and I want to do it but I can’t get anyone on the phone that will listen to me if I don’t pay the overdue charges before they will listen to me. The last “employee “ I talked to about this said his name was “Conner”. He was by far the rudest unhelpful and dismissive person I have ever talked to in my life. I went on to try and explain ………. My car needed servicing and I submitted a “maintenance request “ via the company’s app on my phone per the instructions. After the maintenance was completed and I started the vehicle later that day it initiated the alert that “violation service required” and begins the 4 day countdown until your machine will shut off if you don’t pay the lockout fee both on the app and you have to pay the mechanic shop you take it to get your machine recalibrated. This is your only option. If you don’t then you will get locked out of the machine this rendering your vehicle disabled until you tow it a shop) Previous times I have done this and the message goes away by the next day so maybe a technical “lag” . This time it did not work. So I repeatedly called the customer service line and finally got “Conner” he was less than helpful. He repeatedly dismissed my explanations of what my issue was and was a jerk when I asked to speak to anyone else. He flat out stold me I couldn’t speak to anyone else and then argued with me about extending my lease. I didn’t want to extend my lease in August but I had too because I couldn’t talk to anyone In customer service to cancel it! Plus they have an old debt card of mine that they keep charging which is racking up my bank account on Over draft fees. I don’t want to change the card on file (cannot delete it on the app) because I don’t want to use this company anymore. This company is horrible and I am so far in debt because I can’t dispute the charges because their service line sucks and when I do call I get Conner. If I have to talk to him again I might have a stroke. Please help. I want them to remove my charges and end my lease with them. There are other companies that I am sure are way less work. This company is taking advantage of my own [censored]ty situation (that I did to myself) but this isn’t right. I don’t know what to do without paying them the remaining balance. Thank you I look forward to a response.

Intoxalock Lockouts with no refund for maintenance

I have gotten locked out 09/28/ 2022, 11/1/ 2022, 11/28/ 2022. All of which have been recorded through the self reporting maintenance/repair. I have received a $79 charge for each one. I have made multiple calls and talk to customer service each time they tell me it is taken care of And end the call without me being able to ask any questions. I have been trying to get this off my account since Septembe. This is caused my family financial hardship. I had my transmission replaced due to this my car needed repair. The most recent lockout which was yesterday was due to my battery being dead in my car. This company does not take care of their customers. Better business bureau is the next place I will be reporting to. I will not stop until they refund me money they have no right to.

Desired outcome: I would like them to refund my money. Do you have a self reporting form that you fill out if you have repairs done I shouldn’t have to call for a refund after being locked out if these forms have been filled out.

Same happened to me. They charged me $115! They are scammers! I have receipt of date and time car was dropped off and picked up. A simple cross reference would show IT WASNT ME! Thieves!

Intoxalock Service

This company is a big scam .. all they want to do is charge you for lock out when ever they can. You made a mistake and it’s unfortunate you have to have the device in your vehicle but to have customer degrade you as a human being is unacceptable. Their app only works to charge your CC. I’ve been trying for 2 weeks to get my device transferred to a new car and with NO response. I had filled out the app for maintenance to be done and was charge $80 for a lock out. Then I had mechanics look at the truck for trade in and was charge another $80. To transfer they want an extra $325.00. I spoke to a representative and she was rude and very disrespectful. This has to be the worst company to work with. I have called DMV and complained also making complaints with the better business bureau.

FIND ANOTHER COMPANY TO WORK WITH BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS A HUGE SCAM !

this company is a racket,go somewhere else , my friend has COPD,and has numerous violations,he even has a medical note from his doctor, they keep charging him 75.00 everytime he can't blow because he has no breath left in him. He has doctor notes that state he has COPD and supposedly they adjusted his blow machine,still having problems,He is a Disabled Vet,He cannot keep paying this ridiculous amount of money, he is on food stamps and medicaid, He has not drank for years!

Desired outcome: please help him get some of his money back!!!

Intoxalock Overcharged and hard to unlock

When I first got this device, I had no idea how to use it. They never even taught me how to. On my first attempt to use this device, I had many errors. Because of that, it somehow gets locked?! I had no idea how to use the dang device. I had to pay $90 to get the thing unblocked. The second time it got blocked I was at the mechanic to get my car fixed. When the service is finished and I get my car back, it's again blocked! I had to pay the same amount and was wasting a lot money. On top of that, they charge me randomly at times. Specifically, on the 7th of this month, I got charged $219 for no reason! Customer service is horrible as well. There are never any agents available online or thru call and it takes me around 8 days to get it ublocked. DO NOT use this!

Desired outcome: I want an explanation and a refund for the random charges.

Intoxalock Device

I had the intoxalock installed on 11/11/22 and week later my car would not start do to dead battery so I replaced with new battery. Then two days later my car would not start again got it jumped off then my dash lights lit up saying engine problems and vichicle mantance n weak battery also the starter drags now. I did not have this problem until after they installed on my car 2009 honda accord. This should be looked into cause I don't have money to pay for problems cause by them.

They are scamming! Their intoxalock device are rigged! I drank a smoothie 10 minutes later my car beeps so I can blow and it said fail that was the 2nd time it did it to me and then it charged me 80$ once 2x! And then to get ahold of customer service it’s crazy I literally have to download a fake app to register as a new number or new customer looking for service EVERYTIME cause they save each number u call them from so u purposely won’t get thru! And then it when it randomly beeps as u drive i literally would have just picked up the device and it says “blow failed, retest” n I ain’t even blow in it! This thing is so rigged the whole system is [censored]ing rigged, the continuously scam me out my money

Desired outcome: I want my reimbursement for false charges I’ve been charged for! And they need their system reevaluated

This company has the worst customer service ever. A foreign guy named Bryce? was horrible. The rudest most ignorant person I’ve ever had the displeasure of speaking to. He gets attitude with me and they made the mistake. Total idiots. Good luck if you ever have to call them. It will be a frustrating experience especially if you get Bryce, he’s a real jerk, first class a**hole. I had scheduled my removal online and Intoxalock put in the order wrong as a calibration. This caused all kinds of grief

Charged me twice a lockout because my park was parked at night and the intoxalock device ask to blow and my car was turn off, charging me a lot of money because I changed my car and they charged me because I ended the contract before time but I only change the device from one car to another! Biggest scam ever and mandatory, this place is not regulated by anyone the charge you whatever they want and no one to complain about

This company is a flat out scam agency. DO NOT go through this company. This company knows you are down and out and they take advantage of you. Hidden fees left and right. They lock out your device even when you report maintenance on your vehicle resulting in $75 fees. You can NEVER get ahold of an agent to help you. And when you do, the agents are rude and hang up on you. Please, FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. I am trying to save you aggravation and time.

Intoxalock INTOXALOCK ignition interlock device

This company should not be in business. Their unit has destroyed 4 brand new batteries in a year. It has caused electrical issues in my vehicle. The company goes out of their way to make it damn near impossible to get a compliance check to get it removed from your vehicle. Going on 2 years now and it was only supposed to be 1 year. I missed a calibration date because INTOXALOCK device has screwed up my vehicle so bad I could not get it to start and so they forced me to keep it in my vehicle longer than needed. They lie to you. You cannot reach anybody for help. It's all automated phone system. They go out of their way to make it difficult to remove so they can continue to charge you every 2 weeks.

DO NOT USE INTOXALOCK. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

Desired outcome: I want this removed from my vehicle like it was supposed to be. I want this company to be honest and do what they're supposed to do and help people out.

Intoxalock Horrible Service and LIARS

My handheld is defective and there was no inventory at any of the partnered locations near my normal service center. They told me they would be sending a replacement via overnight to my service center. I dropped my car off and no device was ever received!

Upon calling back I was told it was never shipped out, and that one would be arriving by Tuesday, which at that point my vehicle will be in lockout mode!

They made sure to withdraw my required fee for their service but couldn’t make sure that I remained compliant while having this device on my car. Total rip off, employees are clearly incompetent and it’s really sad and disheartening when you have to drive in order to live and pay your bills!

I hate the inconvenience they I know they will be for the next 2 years of my life!

Intoxalock Violation 11 for leaving key in the ignition (while car is off)

On Wednesday October 19th 2022 at approx 5-6pm I was bringing my groceries inside my home and turned my car ignition off but left my keys in the ignition.. about 30 mins later I was in violation 11 on my intoxalock... This is a complete scam and I'm extremely upset because this will now cost me $75.00 plus tax to get it reset. It's completely ridiculous that I'm being charged this ridiculous amount simply for leaving my keys in ignition for 5 minutes!

I DONT EVEN DRINK ALCOHOL! Haven't drank in 10 yrs. but had to get breathalyzer in my car to get my driver's license back from something that happened 11 yrs ago here in Massachusetts..

I find this ridiculous violation an easy way for this company to get extra charges/money from people who are forced to have to use this device.. I do plan on contacting my state representative about these issues..

If your forced to use these devices be extremely cautious and good luck, they SUCK!

Desired outcome: Stopping the violations of simply leaving keys in ignition!!!

I caught a D U I 2 in a half years a go. Just got finish with all my court case. My driver's license was suspended for a year, but I didn't get my license back until two years, because of fines. So I panicked because my lawyer stated that they might take my license back for a year, because she didn't realize. That the state, already did that to me. So afraid of losing my license, I called intoxalock. They pushed me to pay for there services. I was tryi g to get a quote. They insisted I needed this. I told them I'm waiting to hear back from my lawyer, to confirm if I need there services. They said to get set up if I didn't need them, they would refund me my money. So my lawyer called and said that the state already suspended your license two years a go, there not going to punish you twice. So intoxalock services wasn't needed. It has been 2months, of hanging up on me promises of returning my money, I feel scamed.
