Service and knowledge
I would like to start off that I have gone to Jiffy Lube for its fast and convenient service. As being a former GM Certified Tech and being in the industry for 20 years I enjoy the services and convenance that Jiffy Lube offers. I went to Jiffy Lube in Easton, Md 21601 with my daughter on 5/13/23 to get her 2006 Chevy Equinox serviced and tires rotated. I...

a dangerous miss hap at a w. sacramento ca jiffylube
To anyone concerned
4/3/23 took my Toyota Camry to west Sacramento CA branch to get oil change , after leaving to do some shopping , I wanted to check the oil to make sure it was properly filled and not leaking anywhere, as I always do after a visit ,,,,,, , I went to pop the hood , when I pulled the handle it didn’t pop , so I went to open the hood , and noticed one side of my hood raise a little , open hood to find the oil cap on the shroud of the radiator holding the hood from latching, oil sprayed over valve cover and starting to hit the windshield . luckily I had only gone a mile or two to shop when finding this.
So I Put the cap back on went back to your jiffy lube ! where I was told sorry and we can give you thirty percent off your next visit…..
I didn’t have time to argue with the manager over how dangerous what they did could have been , thank god it wasn’t my wife . the hood could have easily popped up and or off depending on how fast the car was going “entering a freeway” where it easily could have caused a accident and or death , not to mention if it stayed partially latched and all oil emptied out of the engine and into the engine compartment burning my motor
Like I said luckily it was me and not my wife! but I got thirty percent off ,,,, my next visit? Next visit / hummm
Not likely ! what do you think that f’up is Worth , im not the type to make a big production out of a bad mistake and I realize [censored] happens but if I was the manger I would think at least thought your visit is on us !

I got a full synthetic oil change from the above listed Jiffy Lube before work.
I drive for a living and my vehicle maintenance is of the utmost importance.
I have my car serviced here often as I drive over 500 miles a day and get my oil changed every 5,000 miles.
After leaving Jiffy Lube at around 2pm I went home for dinner and then headed to work at 4pm. I drove about 45 miles and I heard something fall off from under the car. White smoke started coming from the engine and I immediately pulled the car over. All of the oil began leaking from my car. I had to call my work to tell them I could not work/ run my route (I am a courier) and I had to get my car towed to the nearest mechanic shop. This happened right around 5pm so everything was closed. The next day After checking my car the mechanic where my car was towed to said that my drain plug was not installed properly. I called Jiffy Lube multiple times and was told they would look into what they could do but then never responded.
And now when I call no one will answer. No one has given me any information or apologies.
Desired outcome: I want to be reimbursed for my service at Jiffy Lube and I want to be reimbursed for the expense of having my car towed.
Transmission damage
Went in for an oil change on a 2017 Subaru Forester and the inexperienced technician (on the job for just 2 days per the upper bay techician) drained the transmission fluid and not the oil. I have a fleet account and have been going to and bringing our 5+ vehicles to various Jiffy Lubes around Omaha for many years. I have never encountered an issue until January.
I had the oil changed on my Jeep on October 5th, 2022 and no problems. I had synthetic oil put in so it had a 5,000 mile change time. In December I went to drive it (it was a very cold day) and it sounded funny when it was running and I thought it might have been the cold causing it. I decided not to drive it out of our driveway and parked it in the garage. At this time, I am still 1,000 miles away from my next oil change according to the sticker Jiffy Lube placed on the windshield.
When I got up there was a huge oil puddle under the Jeep, more than just a few drips. I checked the oil dipstick and it was completely dry so I called a tow truck and had it towed to our mechanic.
He said the oil was completely gone and the oil filter was loose. He also said since Jiffy Lube was the last one to touch it, they didn't want to touch it until Jiffy Lube looked at it.
I called on January 11th and the manager called me back the next day. I asked him to meet me at the mechanic's shop to look at it and he agreed to meet that day. The manager checked the oil filter and agreed it was loose. He tightened it and then put oil in it and started it up to make sure it wasn't something else that caused the oil to be emptied. When he started it there was no oil spilling out but now the engine has a big knocking sound.
When I asked the mechanic how we can fix the knocking, he said I would have to get a new engine. Keep in mind this is a crate / rebuilt engine that only has 10,000 miles on it and had no issues prior to this, it is basically a brand new engine.
The manager was very prompt and friendly and wanted to help. He took pictures of everything and said he would forward them to the manager above him since he couldn't make any decisions on this. He called me back on January 12th around 3pm to let me know to give it 2-3 business days and someone would reach out to me. Again the local manager was very friendly and on top of communication.
I hadn't heard anything from Jiffy Lube and called back on January 18th to get a number for the next level of management. The local manager could not give me a direct number for someone to talk to and had to find an invoice to give me some 800 number from the back. I tried calling that number for 30 minutes and it was busy so I googled the national customer service number to call.
When I called the national number, the rep asked me if I had a case number to reference which I didn't because the local manager did not have one to provide. The local manager said he just uploads it into a system and has no point of contact he can provide to me. So we had to create a case to get a case number and the rep said she would forward it to the franchise owner, Team Car Care West, LLC. She said to give it 3 days (72 hours) and reach back out if no one has contacted me.
To my surprise, nobody contacted me in those 3 days so I reached back out on January 23rd to the national rep and they said they would send it to the franchise owner again and escalate it. I also called the local shop but the manager was not in so I had to leave a message.
I did not hear from anyone in any way from Jiffy Lube the next day so I reached out again to the national rep and they said they will escalate it with a request for an update (it was already escalated) and forward it to Team Car Care West, LLC again. I also called the local shop and spoke with the manager. He sounded surprised nobody has contacted me yet but still said he is not allowed to give out the contact info for the manager above him. He said he will call him / her and forward the message and I should be hearing back.
Owning a business myself, I understand that things happen. I am not upset that this happened, I am upset because I am not valued as a customer to receive a phone call from anyone who can help with the situation. From the initial upload of my issue by the local manager on January 12th, I have not received any contact whatsoever from that manager's boss or anyone who handles customer issues. It is now January 25th and still nothing. This is absolutely horrible customer communication and problem resolution.
2 weeks without a peep from Team Car Care West, LLC, the franchise that owns and operates this location. And my Jeep is still parked at the mechanics lot. Luckily he was cool enough to allow me to leave it there without charging a storage fee...yet. All I want is my Jeep back to the way it was before the oil dump happened. Especially since I just put in a new / rebuilt engine 10,000 miles ago... this is so frustrating and disappointing. And no way to run a business!
Desired outcome: Replacement engine with 10,000 or less miles and the remainder of my 3 year engine warranty still in place
Anti-freeze check
About my bad experience at Jiffy Lube in Pittsfield MA 01201. Please note that I am a former precision assembly technician at Hughes Aircraft in California and I am very knowledgeable about auto mechanics and have been doing general repairs on my own cars for 50 years.
One morning last month, as I was driving by Jiffy Lube, I noticed they were just then opening and, since there were no customers there yet, I decided to pull in for an anti-freeze check because we had very cold weather coming to our area. This check is done with a special meter and takes less than a minute to do. After waiting for over a half hour after my minivan was brought into the garage and they were getting busy with customers and not letting me know anything, I finally got the attention of one worker and asked what was going on with my minivan. He told me to hold on and that he would go check. When he came back and told me that "my radiator and fan were shot" and that the other guy was writing up an estimate to replace them. "I LOST IT". I yelled at the guy in front of several waiting customers, called him a F'ing A'hole, and told him I just wanted an anti-freeze check and that there was never ever a damn thing wrong with my radiator or fan. I then demanded that he bring my car out front immediately and said out loud, "now, everyone in this waiting room knows that you guys just attempted to screw a senior citizen". I left and never did get my anti-freeze checked as I wanted.
This ordeal shows that there is absolutely no communication among Jiffy Lube workers and that they are all incompetent. The first guy I talked to never relayed a clear message that I only wanted my anti-freeze checked. So the next guy in line got things twisted and somehow assumed that I had a radiator overheating problem. Now, this reveals another important fact. It proves that these guys have absolutely no knowledge of basic auto mechanics. First of all, it's evident that they never even looked at my temperature gauge, which showed a normal reading. So, if my radiator was really overheating, a real mechanic would follow certain procedures to determine what was causing the overheating. A radiator would only need replacing if it has a serious leak or clogs, which is extremely rare. The three most common causes of an overheating radiator are anti-freeze/coolant leaks in the system, a defective thermostat, or a defective water pump.
It's very very obvious to me that many franchised auto service garages, like Mavis, Monro, and Jiffy Lube, make it a regular practice to hire unprofessional help in order to avoid paying high wages. I am also absolutely positive that the employees are encouraged and pushed by the owners to sell every customer as many services and auto parts as possible whether they need them or not. They do this every single day and get away with it. I've been hearing about these horror stories for decades. Unfortunately, the government doesn't help or protect us regular citizens anymore. I don't even trust Jiffy Lube for oil changes anymore. The employees look like lazy bums and I don't trust them at all.
Oil change / customer service
In November I got my oil changed at this Jiffy lube. I asked the technician if he checked the other fluids. He said "we don't do that". I left thinking I must have paid for basic service. Upon checking my receipt I see that I in fact paid 135 dollars for the most expensive "Euro synthetic" oil change. I checked my fluid levels for coolant, brake fluid, washer fluid and brake fluid. All of which should have been included as advertised for this price. Not a single one was topped up. On my receipt it even said they cleaned my windows. This was not done. The oil levels were good, but the job was done so quickly I wouldn't doubt if the oil wasn't fully changed. They likely also used the cheapest oil and not the Euro synthetic I was charged for. I tried to contact Jiffy lube customer service by phone and email. Each time via email they will me, thank you for contacting us your case has been updated. Copy and paste generic message. On the phone they have told me the franchisee will reach out. They even said the case has been escalated and the manager will reach out. Nobody has contacted me. I have emailed 10 times and called 4 times over this 3 month period and not once has anyone contacted me
Faulty oil change, ruined engine
I received an oil change at Jiffy Lube on Perkiomen Ave in Reading, PA. Never before had an issue with my car, less than 75,000 miles, always passed inspection with no issues. I never use Jiffy Lube but had to go to work so figured I'd get a quick oil change. I should have known something was going to go wrong by the sight of the half asleep or half stoned people working on my car. A week later my engine light goes on while I'm driving and the people I took it to look at said my oil looked old and watery, something was off. So I told them to change the oil while they were fixing spark plugs on the misfiring cylinder. They said the oil filter had not been on correctly causing a faulty seal and moisture to get into the engine causing the oil to get dark and watery. They also said after fixing spark plugs and coils the cylinder was still misfiring and there was something deeper going on. I took it to the dealership who said I need a new engine. I was unknowingly driving around with very watery oil after a faulty oil change and now my engine is f*ked. $8000 later and Jiffy Lube won't admit fault and are making me feel like I'm stupid and I just don't know anything about cars. Well I do know this. I had absolutely NO problems with my car until I took it to Jiffy Lube! After an overly expensive and faulty oil change, now I need a new engine. I patronized your establishment and now I'm f*ked! And Jiffy Lube is blowing smoke up my [censored] and acting like its my fault. If you want your car to work, DO NOT take it to Jiffy Lube!
Desired outcome: I would like my money back and for Jiffy Lube to take ownership of their mistake like professional adults. I'm in the process of hiring a lawyer.
Negligence of work
My car was serviced by Jiffy lube in Chambersburg pa at the orchard drive location for an oil change and this is where I have taken my car all the time for oil changes but now I will never set foot in a jiffy lube if this matter is not taken care of immediately. Read full review of Jiffy LubeCracked oil pan near drain plug
I am very disappointed with Jiffy Lube for not only causing damage to my engine (cracking the upper oil pan) but returning my vehicle with the oil leak during an engine oil change on Oct 16th, 2022. I was told there is an "oil pan crack close to the oil drain plug", the cover plate and its screws were placed in my trunk/cargo space of my GLK 350 with 60K miles. I was told that this was a manufacturing defect, but after returning home my husband checked the damage and concluded that the plug was either incorrectly forced OR over tightened to cause the crack. I was already upset because they had not only sent me home with a leak caused by their negligence, now the whole oil leaked in my driveway in less than a day. I called the manager back the very next day, but he said there is nothing he can do about it. I have not been able to drive the car for 3 weeks and have called around several places only to be told its going to cost $2000 to $3000 to repair and that I need to bring my SUV in for an estimate which I cannot drive without engine oil in the engine! The guys who worked on the vehicle were Franky, Paz and Douglas in case someone from Jiffy Lube in Chantilly, Virginia. Also, my previous oil change was at the Jiffy Lube in Vienna, Virginia and I have not been undergone any repair or oil change in between. Is this how Jiffy Lube treats their longtime customers?
Desired outcome: I would like to have the upper engine oil pan replaced.
Franchisee of Store # 1412
I went in on my lunch hour for what was supposed to be a quick oil change and tire rotation. I waited about an hour just to get in the bay and watched my car sit without being worked on for another hour. I was then confronted with my air filters and suggestion of unnecessary services to be added to my vehicle. Total lack of communications and poor time management capabilities had me sitting in the waiting room for over four hours witnessing rude staff interactions between themselves and other customers. Guys were walking around blaring music on their phones, gossiping, and chain smoking. Everyone seemed rushed, but nothing seemed to be getting done. All of the other customers in the lobby were visibly upset.
Two and half hours in, I get notified by Anthony that he had broken not one, but two lugnuts off of my wheel and my car is undrivable, he tried to get me new bolts before checking that he could not replace them, adding even more unnecessary wait time. He pulled my car out of the bay and neglected to speak to me for an update, leaving me in the wait room clueless that i needed to organize a tow and repair myself. His apologies were insincere and I had to be towed and damages to my vehicle from their negligence were significant. I was and have not yet been refunded for my services provided. Repairs for their mistake cost me over $500 at the dealership. I did not have a vehicle for the entire following weekend.
When i returned with the dealership bill asking for any kind of reimbursement, Anthony called me "uneducated" and constantly interrupted me while trying to explain my situation to him. Infuriating.
I have never witnessed this amount of poor service, lack of mechanical ability, or quality of customer interaction in my life!
In their response to my review above, the franchise lied by stating that they got me over to a repair garage- this is not true whatsoever. What they did was ignore me and neglect to inform me that i needed to organize a tow and repair on my own. The General Manager, Anthony, also admitted to using hand tools to break off my bolts. Every mechanic i have spoken with since then has stated that only a novice would make this kind of mistake.
Desired outcome: I wish to be reimbursed by this franchise for the cost of repairs and loss of personal time as a result. I also want to make a formal complaint against general manager Anthony Badarcco for lack of character.
Oil change service
To Whom It May Concern,
It is with regret that I must inform you that my most recent service with your company was very much unsatisfactory. I have used your services over the years for most of my oil changes for my three vehicles, not to mention family and friends that I have often referred your company to.
Yesterday late afternoon I visited your Dartmouth Crossing location once again and I cannot express how dissatisfied I was with the outcome. First off it was probably the longest service I ever have had for what little to nothing that was completed. The technician was more occupied with walking back and forth the office area and eating his MacDonalds lunch than servicing my car. (not sure why he was eating his lunch during work time).
At any rate he apologized for the long wait due to he was awaiting the oil to drain, however made no attempt to conduct any other part of the service as is usually performed during this time, i.e. check my tire pressure, windshield wipers, fill my washer fluid etc.
Once completed, he provided me a copy of the bill after I had paid to show me of all the services that were performed or rather should have been performed which were not! I questioned him that he did not perform what was stipulated on the bill of sale, in particular I said I have not observed you perform the following;
1. Check my air filter – his response “due to the mileage he was not required to”. That is a first I have always been shown the air filter.
2. Fill my washer fluid, check my fluids and wipers – no response.
3. Check my tire pressure – his response “ya I did not do that”.
4. He did check my tail brakes and indicators on the rear of the vehicle but not the front or lights.
After I questioned him on this, he made no attempt to complete the required tasks indicated on the bill and basically sent me on my way.
Again, I have used your services many many times and pretty much know exactly what you provide as part of the service and costs of the $131.31.
I leave it to you to rectify and deal with the employee as you see fit, and I look forward to your response. If you require any further information or clarification, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks so much,
Jim Spring
