Buyer Beware: Jiffy Lube Untrustworthy and Costly Experience
I went to Jiffy Lube for a simple spark plug change but was told that I needed new gaskets as well, with an estimate of around $780. After the service, my car was smoking and burning oil. When I brought it back, the mechanic promised to fix it at no cost. I returned to find he was "ordering" a $500 part—which was red flag. Suspicious, I took my car to the Honda dealership and paid $400 for an inspection, only to discover that my spark plugs hadn’t been replaced and the gaskets were still leaking oil.
When I brought this up to the manager, Steve, he insisted he had given the mechanic the spark plugs. After two weeks and calls to the central office, I settled for half of what I initially paid, but only after they sent a check in the wrong name and ignored me until I threatened small claims court.
This ordeal cost me valuable time and delayed visits to a hospitalized friend, requiring me to take Ubers and public transit. My advice: skip Jiffy Lube and go to a reputable dealership or mechanic.
Recommendation: Avoid Jiffy Lube if you value honest service and peace of mind. Save yourself months of frustration and costly mistakes.
@41 and 12 ave Hialeah, outstanding team, thank you Onaidy for the extra mile!!
I want to thank the team at Jiffy Lube in Hialeah on 41st and 12th Ave who were very helpful today, especially the girl who helped me. Onaidy is her name. I came to this place because a light came on in my car and since I don't know nothing about cars, I was very nervous, she greeted me and patiently explained to me what my car had and although she only pressed a button and the light went off, she told the guys to take it in to check the tire pressure and they refilled the fluids and They didn't charge me anything for this.
I will definitely return and recommend this place 100%!
Recommendation: I will definitely return and recommend this place 100%!!

My daughters' 2014 Equinox received new spark plugs at the 1753 store in Davie, FL on 12/1/22. The car had lows miles accrued until she returned home to Wisconsin in November 2023. Upon arrival, she complained of loss of power in the vehicle. I took the car to Powers Tire and Auto in Manitowoc, WI and they discovered that one of the plus had not been torqued correctly leading to its' destruction and that of the ignition coil for that cylinder. This was repaired for $134.82 and the engine now runs fine. BUT - the plug was missing its' anvil and the only place it could have gone was into the cylinder. HOPEFULLY it was shot out the exhaust valve. I contacted the store in Davie and the manager stated that since the repair was over 1 year old, he could do nothing. I submit: because of faulty maintenance, the engine on this vehicle could have suffered major damage. We have retained the spark plug and ignition coil should you need them. The phone number for Powers Tire is [protected]
Claimed loss: $134.82
Desired outcome: Remittance

On June 14, 2023, My son took our car to the Jiffy Lube in Matteson, Illinois.
A complete oil change was done. While driving the car in August, the Check engine light came on and the car began making noise. The car was parked and towed to a Ford dealership. All the engine oil had leaked out due to a poor filter install. More than 3 months of back and forth Emails have not been helpful, and as of today, the District Manager informed me the " warranty " department had denied my claim. The Ford dealership confirmed the reason for the leak; that the filter was installed incorrectly.
Desired outcome: Replace the ruined engine without further delay.

On 10/18/23 Jiffy Lube did a full synthetic oil change on my Mercedes. When I questioned Hunter V about the $150 price even with my $20 coupon he stated it was because the car was a Mercedes and if I continued to complain he would charge me more. When I asked if the lubricant used in my car was different from what they would put in a Chevy for full synthetic he gave no response. I had asked for my battery to be checked per their sign of free battery checks and he responded that he couldn't do it because battery not under hood when it absolutely is. He really developed an attitude and didn't like me telling him that I had been going to the J-L location on 4500 S in Holladay for 12 years with this car and never paid more than $115 with no coupons and was never told I had to pay more because my car was a Mercedes.
Desired outcome: The young man should not be dealing with the public. He was really bad!
Upon completing service, worker vandalized my vehicle.
On 06Oct2023 at roughly 6:30pm, I took my 2007 Nissan Sentra to Jiffy Lube, #171, in Griffith, Indiana. When I pulled up, the worker came outside and asked if he could assist me. Jeffy Lube #2772
I stopped by Jeffy Lube at Sepulveda & Westchester, right across from IHOP in Culver City. Their telephone number is [protected]. They provided me with an estimate of $135 just to change the oil, which was significantly higher than my usual estimate. Additionally, they informed me that my drain plug was stripped. Consequently, I decided to cancel my order and retrieved my car. I then proceeded to visit another Jeffy Lube location close to my house in Tarzana.
The address of this new location is 7568 Reseda Blvd, and I received excellent service there. They were able to fix my drain plug; however, my skid plate had been completely damaged due to incorrect installation by the previous Jeffy Lube store, and they were unable to repair it.
I would like to request a replacement for my skid plate and compensation for the hours I spent trying to resolve the issue with the damaged plate.
Desired outcome: I would like to request a replacement for my skid plate and compensation for the hours I spent trying to resolve the issue with the damaged plate.
Windshield wipers
my name is Teressa Turner. I recently went to the jiffy lube in Salisbury NC. My windshield wipers were stuck on. I asked one of the technician's if they could fix it. After about an hour there, they tried to tell me it was going to be 606 dollars. to fix. they claim the part was 200 dollars and the labor was 400. I felt like they were just telling me this because I was a female. I left as I knew what they were doing but I will be getting in touch with the BBB because Jiffy Lube is discriminating because I was a woman and black.
Desired outcome: for them to be stopped

The amazing 2 person staff at the Rose Hill Jiffy Lube are amazing! Manager Zara, who mentioned she prefers to go by Z was kind and patient and bustling around with both bays filled with cars and a couple others waiting to be serviced. The other tech working, Kam, was injured with one arm in a sling and a brace on the other was doing the best he could learning while not being able to do much. While I was only there to get a high milage synthetic oil top off (which was not in stock, because she couldn’t place an order for as she wasn’t yet established as the manager yet) Explaining she had only been the manager of the location for only a couple of days and then letting me know that I could go to the Redmond location behind the O’Reilly’s to get the services I needed.
Being the curious person I am, I asked what other things she couldn’t do or provide customers and if I were to write a review what I could possibly put in it. She gave me a couple things which I note below and most are my own observations and my own words. As I stop at several Jiffy locations for a oil level check and top off once a week. I get all my vehicle services that can possibly done at a Jiffy Lube.
Not knowing how managers can check if things have been reported, as a customer who rely on places like Jiffy Lube to help keep my vehicle running at its best as its almost 30 years old, I am shocked to have learned that a new manager was placed in charge of a busy location that could not do most of its noted services due to most of the equipment is broken or doesn’t work like it needs to. Meaning no transmission fluid changes, no tire rotation, no AC recharge, no actual air conditioning in the building to help keep the employees cool in the sweltering heat. Stairs that have no slip protection and are starting to come apart. Even broken bay doors. That the conditions to work in were filthy and never cleaned that she and the new hire Kam that was on his 3rd week of working (first couple days in this store being a transfer), spent 2 to 3 hours after closing deep cleaning as much as possible to make it more bearable to work in, minus the pit which has so much oil buildup it needs to be scraped up.
I asked if any surprise inspections were done before any manager was transferred to another store or promoted to new positions, and she said not that she was aware of. WOW! That is despicable. If no inspection of a manager’s store is done, then that says a lot. Upper management literally sent this sweet young woman and injured new hire into a dangerous and hazardous situation. This is an OSHA violation if I have ever seen one.
District and upper Managers clearly have no regards to the staff in this location that are struggling and clearly don’t care that they set up a newly promoted manager to fail in a deplorable store that someone else ran into the ground and clearly didn’t take care of. How can the district managers and higher senior managers allow such a negligent manager move to another store to run it into the ground? The previous manager who did the damage should be held accountable and answer for the deplorable conditions and should come back and make it right instead of making someone else fix the mess.
Before I left, she was getting yelled at by a customer in the bay for yet something else she couldn’t do because the machine for cleaning spilled oil on the engine was broken. It had an old brittle hose that ended up falling apart and became unusable that is still waiting to be replaced. While you could see that Manager Z was stressed beyond comprehension, she held it together very well and did her best. You could see on her face, she was about to break down and give into quitting.
Based on the conversation, it is quite clear that good store managers get ignored and crappy, negligent managers get what they want. Even if the simple as is for 1 more person to help with staffing or to have equipment replaced. Upper management ignores or turns a blind eye to what is going on. Upper management needs to be held accountable and investigate and do more surprise inspections to underperforming stores, low staffed stores or stores that are requesting more help.
Both Z and Kam need a raise for being placed in a deplorable and hazardous location and only the 2 of them doing a majority of all the work they need to do.
It is quite clear in my travels there are more stores in the area like this than the upper management are not aware of or if they are, they IGNORE. They have really lost touch with reality and how the Jiffy Lube workforce really is and how they are literally killing themselves working 12-16 hour days for the job.
Desired outcome: District and corporate managers need to be held accountable and actually start investigating their stores to ensure they are up to standard and in working order and in compliance with all codes and not hazardous unhealthy work conditions.
