JPMorgan Chase careless and ignored that problems they had

Chase Paymentech didn't really care about small business owners, when they had problems with their clients, they didn't try to solve problems, they've just careless and ignored these problems, pretended that these problems had never happened, is that new style of Chase paymentech?
Chase Paymentech didn't wirte letter or gave their customer a preparing time to terminated (unilateral canceled agreement without notice.) their merchant account that was seriouslydamaged to small business owner without any specific real reason that is unforgivable!
It could be sued from small business owner as a result.

JPMorgan Chase unfair practices

A note of warning to all. I just called Chase Credit card services [protected]). Before the customer service representative answered, there was a blurb on how this call will be recorded. So when they answered I informed them that I too am recording the call for my accuracy. Immediatley they told me that they have to end the call an will not talk to me.

What kind of company will record you, but will not allow you to record them?

Buyer Beware!

JPMorgan Chase harassing rude collections supervisor

I had a car loan for 5 years that was never late once. I bought a new car 8 months ago through Chase & within weeks was hospitalized for months after I had kidney surgery & was out of work. I have made all my payments so far (except this month) but they are usually late. I always advise EVERY representative of these facts each time they call since I am playing "catch up" with all my bills from being out of work for months.

The latest call was today from Melanie Morales who claims to be a Collections Supervisor. She went way out of line threatening me that they would repossess the car TODAY if I did not make a payment to HER today. The last representative I spoke with advised me I had until the 3rd of May to pay, which is when I get paid again.

Melanie insisted she would repossess the car & REPEATEDLY made stressful remarks like, "You obviously don't care about your debts", & "What will you do without your car?" in a snide tone, & almost yelling "You are always late since you opened this loan! You clearly can't afford this car. You obviously don't care about paying your debts!" and others. I said there was no reason to be rude to me, that I had spoken to someone already & arranged to make a payment, & she said, "Well, YOU have a problem because that's not good enough! "

I stayed very calm but she made me very angry & stressed & would not listen to me AT ALL, but kept interjecting her remarks about how I will lose my car, & that I don't care about paying things off, & how they did me a favor by "allowing me to build my credit" by giving me a car loan. Are you KIDDING ME?

I doubt she heard 2 words from me with all her rude interrupting. I have NEVER complained about a collection call before, but this was the most stressful & worst one I have ever had, & I wanted to report it & her, because there was no reason for it. Despite my excellent past records, I am now being treated as a bum off the street by a company I pay money to every month (late or not.) If it makes a difference, the payment I planned to make would have brought me 100% current, even into my NEXT payment, because I am caught up.

Damage Resulting

I endured a real physical & financial hardship out of my control. I am doing the best I can to make things work & to pay my debts, but now when I speak to a rep, I don't know if the dates that they say I need to pay by are REAL, or not. If one rep says one thing & a supervisor calls screaming at me something else, who do I listen to? A rep that sounded courteous & professional, or someone who screams & is totally rude & who claims to be a supervisor? I don't know but this sucks. She should be fired either way.

Here is her info (that she gave me anyway) Her name is Melanie Morales, she claims to be a Collections Supervisor, & her # is [protected]

I believe all of their collection employees are trained to be rude and remorsless...If you come across one that is kind you are lucky because that employee is probably going against company policy by being pleasant because they have a conscience.Chase is using this recession and there power to fraudently, yet legally, and selfishly take advantage of good people that are struggling in the slightest of all aspects.I hope that karma comes around and that they pay dearly. One CEO after another.

If you have purchased or received a CHASE Gift Card, you better use it quick and now! This is because if you have unexpected activities on your card, even if you did not lose the card, the bank tries to make money off of you and make you pay a fee to replace or close the account!

They tell you that there are fees associated with replacing the card and closing the account. Whether you choose to replace the card that has fraudulent activities or close the account completely, they make you pay a fee. They also tell you that this fee is not waivable, because apparently it takes them a lot of money to do so. Also, if you are arguing about the fraud, if you don't pay this replacement or account closing fee, they reverse the credit and you get NOTHING back! So I basically was threatened to pay the fee or I lose the $60 fraud amount.

They also make you a lot of trouble going back and forth with the whole investigation.

I though gift card is supposed to help you secure your credit card and money, and yet Chase is trying to make money off of you. I had my card in my possession the entire time, and never used it online either, and have only used it in restaurants. How is a gift card different from a regular credit card? If there is unusual activities on your card, the bank always refund you the amount immediately, replace the card for you immediately with no fees, and then investigate! So it's a lot more money to make gift cards?! Bank gift cards make you purchase them already, and now they ask you for replacement fee when I did not lose my card, but it has to be replaced because of fraud! Ridiculous! How come regular stores who sell gift cards never make you pay additional fees?!

Someone please tell me, am I being unreasonable?! So I'd like to warn everyone once again, if you have purchased and received a CHASE gift card, you better use it now and quick and never purchase from them again! American Express is the way to go, their cards never expire, no dormant fees and no replacement fees! CHASE has absolutely horrible customer service even though I have been their Credit Card customer for over 10 years and they tell me I have to replace the card, pay the fee in order to favour the dispute in my direction! I am a victim of a credit card fraud! Something is seriously wrong here I think.

you borrowed the money.you lost a job? now that you are graduating you want chase to free up"your" money so you can by a cap and gown.NOt really undersatnding you ...you say I want "my money back"?what are you saying? They took money away from you or they froze your line of credit. The line of credit is not your money its theirs and they were lending it to you through a credit card.If you stop paying as promised, then yes they will cut you off...DUH and of course they will call you. They are bound by laws on how much contact Ie if you dont answer the phone they will keep calling till they reach a certain number, receive a cease order settle the debt or begin to make contact with you.I owed chase alot 5K, They frozoe the balance and as long as I made min payments they kept the interest at 0 till pd off.BUT I had to NEVER MISS NOR BE LATE! iIt was a great program and helped me rebuild my credit score because they reported me as making pymts as agreed...alot of people are blaming banks and the goverment for their poor choices...its time we all looked in the mirror and realized the financial mess has lots of participants!

I wrote the "cease and desist" letter, as, I was informed by Chase that's what I needed to do to stop the phone calls...Therefore, they must be subject to the law, or why else would they have asked for the letter?

Below is a copy of the State of California, Fair Debt Collection Practices Statues, Article 2.9:

Harassment or Abuse

It is a violation to harass or abuse a debtor or any person in order to cause payment of a debt. For example, a debtor may not vex, trouble or annoy the debtor or anyone continually or chronically, as by repeated telephone calls, in order to induce payment. The following specific rules apply:
1. Harassment or abuse by telephone. A collector may not make the following uses of the telephone to collect a consumer debt: (a) to cause the debtor's or anyone's telephone to ring, or to engage the debtor or any person in telephone conversation, repeatedly or continuously for the purpose of annoying the person called;134 (b) to call the debtor or anyone with a frequency that is unreasonable and that constitutes harassment;135 (c) to cause the debtor or anyone expenses for long-distance telephone charges, telegram fees, or charges for other similar communications, by concealing or misrepresenting the purpose of the call;136 or (d) to call the debtor or anyone without disclosing the caller's identity.137

2. Other forms of harassment. A collector may not engage in any conduct in connection with the collection of a debt whose natural effect is to harass, oppress, or abuse the debtor or any other person.138 ("Natural"; means how an ordinary person would ordinarily feel; the term "harass"; has no statutory definition, but probably includes rude, nasty or other un-civil or unreasonable behavior.) Conduct that is similar in purpose and effect to the conduct described at paragraph 1, but is accomplished by some means other than a telephone (for example, publication on the Internet or by e-mail), is probably unlawful.139

Action: If the debtor or someone in the debtor's household receives and is harassed by repeated telephone calls or by any other repeated acts by a collector or any of its employees, the debtor should make a written note of the facts, and then send the collector a letter notifying it of the misconduct. If the misconduct has serious consequences or is repeated, the debtor may register a complaint with the FTC.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I see nothing in article 2.9 that distinguishes or lists what debt collectors have/have not to abide by this law, and was not able to find one anywhere else on their website. My mother is 82 and sole income is Social Security. I doubt, after suffering a stroke, that she much cares about her credit score, and I'm not a user on the account. She also owns no "real" property to put a lien on. Also, the credit card insurance IS making the payments on her account. Chase is calling in regard to the amount that is behind because of the time it took me to get power of attorney and access to her checking account. About two months. Anyway, my complaint was regarding the harassment, not the debt. As I stated above, the situation has been explained to them many times, and furthermore, I've even provided a copy of her doctor's report to them, at their request. So they know she's not trying to pull a "Fast One" on them, and they are aware she's never going to be "normal" again. My point here is...Since they are aware of her situation and backed-up by her doctor, what other purpose can the phone calls serve, except to harass?

an orginal lender doesnt NOT, a nd I repeat NOT have to take a cease and desist letter. Only 3 parties have to take that. They also do NOT have to take any less of a payment then was in the orginal agreement. They will sue you and garnish your bank account...along with destroying your credit. Please get some legal advise before a) you bank account has lein against it and frozen or b) have a lein against your house. Also you credit is being ripped to shreds right now. Please seek legal advise asap

Well, I'm not a lawyer, but there are laws regarding how debt collectors can collect debts. They are NOT permitted to harass you! I have had the SAME problem with Chase Bank regarding my mother's account after she suffered a stroke, and I received "Power of Attorney". This is what I've done...One, you have to write Chase a letter to "Cease and Desist" the phone calls (Although, Chase believes it's "Above the law", but it's one of the steps in the process). If the phone calls continue, which they will knowing Chase, you can file a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). This can be done online (http://www.ftc.gov). I just finished filing a complaint with the FTC this morning regarding Chase Bank. I also plan on filing a complaint with our states Attorney General, as harassment is also a violation of our state laws. You might want to check your state laws regarding debt collectors, and do the same thing. I haven't got any further than that at this time, however, I am considering going to the news media with this problem. We have a news channel here that fights for consumer rights. They just had Chase on the other day, however, it was in regards to a different problem. Well, that's what I've done, to date. Good Luck! Your going to need it with Chase. Outside of the IRS, they are the most "Ruthless" and "Uncompassionate" bunch of people I've ever dealt with! Ignorant also, as they don't even seem to understand the English language!

JPMorgan Chase watch out - they do nasty things!!

Be aware if you're dealing with Chase line of credit on your home equity account. To make a long story short, if you want them re-instate your original equity line, you will ask you to submit an appresial report -at your own expense-. If the reported value comes a $1 short of the original price set from the agreement, you won't re-instate, not even a half way. Given that the housing market in Mountain view, CA has dropped barely 10% for the past two yrs. They reduced my line of credit from $430K to $250K and that's more than 40%! given the econ condition, I thought that was NOT a completely unreasonable things to do so I let it go. Yet, when I called Chase, they said not only they will not increase the limit back to it's original amount, they would most likely -block- the whole account. I get very mad and cash out the entire $250K in the same day. Then 3 days later, they sent me a letter saying the credit limit was on re-instated at $250K. Given that comfort level, I wrote them a check for $100K to put the money back. The check was cleared in 20 hrs from my bank. quick, i said. guess what happened to that $100K? it disappeared from the available credit! This means every penny they paid them, they will just swallow it w/o giving you back. So if you think of keeping you line of credit, you'd better cash it out and never pay them back! Let the bank burn!

JPMorgan Chase forebearance aggreement to full modification

This is the story of what I went though with chase. This is the letter I sent to the white house, HUD and the making home affordable plan, (edited to hide my identity) :
To Whom It May Concern: February 2010

My name Blank, My husband and I home in WA which is financed though Chase home Finance. My husband was a Manager for a well known company making great money until 2008 when he was let go due to the poor economic state his company could no longer afford him. Two days previous we had found out we were expecting a child but our happiness was pushed out by the stress of how we were going to keep our home. We managed to scrape by and continue making our payments for a few months by selling off all our assets and cashing out our 401 k. We applied for loan modification in February 2009 with Chase and were told we would receive a response in writing within 7-10 business days letting up know if we qualify or not but were warned by them to not get behind on our payment or we would automatically be denied for modification.

We got behind on all of our bills in hopes that our mortgage payment would go down and we would eventually be able to get caught up on everything. I continued to call Chase checking on the status of our modification daily and was hung up on, transferred around and given the run around on a daily basis. This was so stressful that I actually almost miscarried over all of the stress of dealing with these people. After two complaints to the Better Business Bureau I was finally contacted and put on a modification program where I was told by a Chase Home Finance representative that we were being placed on a 90 day trial program which lowered our payment slightly and was told at the end of the 90 days if all payments were made on time we would be able to have a permanent finance at a 30/60/90 with an interest rate of 4.25 % (2.1 % lower than our current loan). After the completion of our program which was in July 2009 we were told we would receive a new contract in the mail with this lower rate and when we didn’t I began to call to find out what was going on. I was informed by Chase that we completed the 90 day trial successfully but they were not done writing our new contract so to continue to mail to payment of the same amount to the same address that I was sending it to under the 90 day trial period.

I have called weekly since and have been told you will have your new contract next month each time and when the next month comes I never receive it. Now last week I received a letter in the mail for a “repayment plan”. My payment is now back up to its original amount and some in the plan are over $1000 per month more than it was. They now are telling me this was a temporary fix and that I need to pay back all the money that my payment was delinquent (the difference between my original payment and the 90 day trial amount)

During the time since I was placed on the 90 day trial plan they have been reporting on our credit that we are behind so now when we try to refinance with another lender they cant work with us because of the notes on our credit from Chase. The only way that Chase will take it off is if we pay $4000 in penalties which we cannot afford.

In the 9 months since we initially applied for modification my husband has found a job and was working a lot throughout the summer and is now laid off again due to the weather conditions. I believe if they would have helped us in a timely manner in the first place and given us a lower payment like we were promised then we would have gotten caught up on our bills and be ready for the winter but now we are even worse off than last year with more mouths to feel and no more assets to sell off to keep our home we could see foreclosure in our near future.

We are two hard working Americans who could really use a break. If there is anything you could do to help us I would greatly appreciate it. I’m sure you are flooded with letters such as mine but I have now filed three complaints with the BBB and even a complaint with the Ohio State Attorney (where Chase’s headquarters is located) and have had no help so you’re my only hope.

Thank you for your time,

Jamie

A few weeks after I sent this letter, I recieved a letter from Chase with a full modification, sighting my complaint from the BBB, Ohio state attorney, HUD AND the white house if you can believe that! I feel very lucky that I finally got enough help to make something happen. I hope this helps you too so that someome else doesnt have to go though everything I went though with case.

My husband and I are going through the EXACT same ordeal with Chase. Due to cuts and pay and job loss on my part we applied for home loan modification. We sent in all our paperwork and went on a three month trial basis which were all paid on time and then never heard anything. I called and called, was told we were fine and i asked for statements which were never received, then they dropped us and said we did not send them all the right paperwork (which was a lie)--I am ready to email Good Morning America and everyone else I can think of. They strung us along for over a year after I made a million phone calls to them and sent them everything they asked for and every person I talked to told me something different than the one before. There was a time when I called to talk to a so called rep and not more than five minutes after hanging the phone up with that person, another Chase rep would call with no knowledge of my previous phone call and tell me something TOTALLY different. I had to laugh after a while, because the only thing they all said that was the same was "Oh, don't worry, an analyst will be assigned to your case very soon and your statements you requested will be sent right out." Well 15 months later--no statement or analyst just attorney fees and more gray hairs than i can count!

JPMorgan Chase chased away by chase

I just returned home from closing my chase checking account, as well as two cds worth 25k that had not yet matured. I took the penalty because I couldn't stand doing business with this bank one minute more than necessary. I was originally a wamu customer who enjoyed the privileges of banking with them for years. When wamu was taken over by chase I figured I would give chase a chance, figuring they couldn't be too different. Boy was I wrong! When my renters bounced a $200 check my account became insufficient, I immediately deposited $270 in cash to cover the negative balance. However, according to chase since I deposited this after banking hours (I couldn’t leave work) the funds weren't considered available and I was therefore responsible for the $210.00 in overdraft fees. This seems to be a common complaint as it pertains to chase, so it’s obvious they make a lot of money doing this sort of thing to hard working folks. Frankly, I can not think of another way to describe it other than legalized extortion. The only reason why I gave them half a star was because the branch manager who helped me had great customer service skills.in fact, as he was completing the paperwork to close my accounts he told me how chase neglected to tell him that they placed a 10 day hold on a perfectly good check that he deposited.in the meantime he used his check card for several $1 & $2 purchases. He ended up with over $300 in overdraft fees and was unable to recover a penny of it. If the culture of this organization dictates that this is the way they should treat their employees you can only imagine how they treat their customers.

JPMorgan Chase their policies and procedures are structured to take advantage of you

I recently made a human error and Chase Bank fined me hundreds of dollars in fees. Background: At the beginning of the summer, my children ages 9 and 6 decided they wanted to mow lawns to earn enough money for a Nintendo Wii. They worked hard all summer under close parental supervision and at the end of the summer they'd saved enough money to purchase a Wii. After some research it became evident that eBay had some of the best deals for games and components. I have a PayPal account because of a small online golf website that I have called agamegolfinstruction.com where I accept payments through PayPal and that money is transferred from PayPal into a Chase bank checking account. We decided to use a credit card for my children’s eBay purchases so I added my credit card to my PayPal account and we deposited my children’s money in the Credit Card account to cover the purchases. We purchased about 10 separate items on eBay using PayPal for a total of about $250. A week later I received a statement from Chase bank that I had accrued nearly $300 in NSF fees. I did some research and after calling PayPal, I realized that somehow during the eBay checkout process, we failed to link the purchases to the credit card on the PayPal account and so PayPal was trying to take money out of my Chase Bank checking account which was nearly empty. At this time, there were still about 4 transactions that hadn’t been completed and I called PayPal and asked if they could change where the eBay transactions were being billed and they said they could not. I called Chase Bank and asked if they could refuse the remaining requests for funds so that PayPal would bill the credit card on file and Chase said they couldn’t do anything. The really frustrating thing is that PayPal requests the funds from the checking account twice before it goes to a backup funding source which is the Credit Card on file. So for example, PayPal tried to request funds twice for one purchase of $5.49 and Chase declined both requests and charged me $35 each time for a total of $70 for that one purchase alone. After all the purchases were completed, Chase charged me over $400 in NSF fees. I spoke with Chase managers to see if they would consider reversing the fees and they gave me $70 which they said is the annual limit they’re allowed to offer. There is no room for negotiation here. It doesn’t matter what your track record is with the bank and how high-quality of a customer you’ve been. Chase takes your money and runs. BEWARE of Chase because their policies and procedures are structured to take advantage of you with no means of recourse on your part. Go to a credit union or a local bank where they’ll get to know you by name and treat you as a valuable member.

You're right! CHASE SUCKS! THEY ALWAYS HAVE! JP Morgan Chase is the SAME company that in the 20's had the media report to the public that the banks were "insolvent." As as result, everyone withdrew their monies and all the small banks collapsed! That was the start of the GREAT DEPRESSION! THEN, the BIG banks gobbled up the little ones so they'd have ALL the assets! THIEVES! HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF FOLKS! CHASE IS THE DEVIL! IT'S ALL JUST MANIPULATION OF WEALTH BY THE UBER RICH!

But you admit it was a valid error. You didn't understand how Paypal worked.
Granted, Chase MAY have been nicer and refunded a few of those charges when you explained what happened, BUT they are valid fees that it laid out and you agreed to by having an account with them.

JPMorgan Chase credit card rip off

After a late payment I got my rate jacked up to 29.99. Legal theft ? The govt. Needs to do something to the credit card companies that are in effect stealing for people trying to pay off deft but can not due to the outrageous interest rates the card companies are charging. Why do they incest on charging so mush for credit? What bug business don't understand is they are driving the american people into the poor house and when no one can afford to use credit cards where will they be? On an 11, 000 credit card bill making the minimum monthly payment it will take over 30 years to pay it off at the 29.99 interest rate. Really, where do they think they can make over 46, 000.00 in interest on 11, 000.00 in credit card debt? I sure wish everyone would stop using any and all credit cards just to put a hurting on all the card companies...

Are you kidding? Do you read anything before you sign your name? It was in your contract. You agreed to pay that if you defaulted or if you were in breach of the contractual agreement. Stop trying to make the government fix your mismanagement of capital. Do you want to know why they charge such a high rate? They wouldn't make any money if they only charged 6% every time you were late on a payment or "forgot" to pay for 3 months. So the bank has to protect themselves from people who's only goal is rack up unsecured debt then throw their hands up and say they can't pay it or file bankruptcy and they do so by charging those who cannot maintain their payments. You know people who pay their bills on time and regularly tend to have much lower interest rates. You should try to live on a cash diet for a while. Subdivide your expenses, then put cash into an envelope or jar that is appropriated accordingly. You'll be shocked to discover where your money really goes. If you want to follow the dark path just let your unsecured debt charge off, hope it goes to a reasonable collection agency and settle your debt for less than what you owe. It's just your credit... which your having trouble managing anyway. Why not turn bad debt into good debt?

JPMorgan Chase cannot get a buyout letter from 2002

Lost the buyout letter on a leased car I purchased after the lease. Chase won't give me a buyout letter saying I paid Michigan Sales tax, so Michigan won't give me a title unless chase gives me a buyour letter or I pay 6% sales tax on a car that I already peid sales tax to Chase Auto.
I think that chase did't ever pay the sales tax on the loan and because it was so long ago they don't and won't pay it now.
They keep sending me to thier research department, which is nothing more than a cll ceneter in India.
I need help!

I called for a payoff figure which I was told included the sales tax. After I sent in my money, they are trying to tell me now that the sales tax is not included. I have been told three times that a supervisor will call me and none of those supervisors have followed through. I sent in a letter to customer service and did not get a response. I sent an email to the President of auto finance, Mark Sheinbaum and got no response from him either. Their customer service is very consistant throughout the organization...consistantly bad!

JPMorgan Chase wrongful foreclosure

I had a loan with Suntrust mortgage starting in August 2006 which was sold to Chase Mortgage in November 2008. After Chase assumed my loan, my homeowner's policy lapsed at the end of December 2008 due to non-payment as Chase did not make the payment out of my escrow account. I had the same homeowner's insurance company since the inception of my loan. The first thing that I received from Chase regarding this matter was in July 2009 which stated they had instituted a forced policy for my hazard insurance starting in April 2009 (why then?). For any of the unfortunate folks that have had forced place insurance, you know that it is costs at least 300% of the premium of any competitve hazard insurance in the marketplace and the coverage only protects the lender (I am not exaggerating- how is that legal?).

My escrow went from $149.50 a month to $450.74 a month starting in April 2009 (again not reported to me until July 2009) at which time they had already added some other nuisance fees to the amount that they stated that I owed. After speaking with one of their representatives, it was determined that the forced place insurance was the culprit so I immediately had my original homeowner agent reinstate the insurance (to stop the bleeding) as I intended to concentrate my efforts on correcting the incorrect April - June billing. I received word (from Chase) that they would begin an investigation and about a week later I received a letter from American Security Insurance (Chase provider of the insurance) that stated the mortgagee lender has requested cancellation the hazard insurance because I had provided evidence of other insurance coverage (I still have the letter).

In February 2010, I received my mortgage payment back (which I ALWAYS paid on time using the $149.50 escrow amount) stating that my home was in FORECLOSURE! It turns out that Chase never paid the homeowner's insurance bill again even after I had it reinstated and they sent me the aforementioned letter. Therefore, they continued to bill the $450.74 a month from July 2009 - February 2010. I have hired an attorney (which I really can't afford) to help my save my family's home but as of now the home is up for auction on April 14th. I cannot explain how stressful, frustrating and downright angry this has made me and my family. It is my understanding that Chase is to receive over $5 billion in government money (from the bailout passed in 2008) to help alleviate some unnecessary foreclosures. Wow!

I COMPLETELY agree with you! What a complete mess and disaster of a company. Nobody knows what anyone else is doing. They wrongfully foreclosed on our house even though we were paying our mortgage payments! The first excuse I got was "we accidentally shredded your documents." Are you kidding me? We are filing a wrongful foreclosure suir against them as well as many other claims. But they definitely need to be put in their place. Somebody needs to be aware of what this compnay is, and is NOT, doing. They are definitely corrupt and are operating a scam. One excuse after another.

I am so upset with chase, they took over my loan from wamu at the same time I was approved to get a loan mod with wamu, which they approved. I got a trial payment which I paid on time for three mths, at the time wamu and chase was merging so I had to wait til chase took over. Chase did not honor me the loan mod, instead they told me I am not making enough to get the loan mod. I re-applied the third time, then they told me that they denied me cause I had a ducument missing. I summited the documents again only for Chase to send people to my home to take pictuses of my home. After, only to tell me they denied my loan mod becuase the house is vacant. This is impossible a realtor from the bank came into the home and met with me, took pictures and measurements for a bpo for the bank. I have been living in my home for five yrs now, since I bought the house. This has been going on since Jan 2009 til now. I just got a letter from chase they want me to sign to trick me into foreclosure. I NEED HELP! At my last wits end, Chase is buying time they are not helping anyone. Everyone I speak with who has a loan with Chase is going through this. What happened to this system of the American dream.

JPMorgan Chase short sale. mortgage/loan modification

I had my home mortgage with Chase Mortgage. I had undegone surgery and became disabled, and put home up for sale in August of 2009. I had a buyer 1 week later. Needless to say 8 months later the house has not been sold to buyer and I cancelled short sale and asked for loan modification from Chase. They have asked for a ton of paperwork once again (that they already have) and I have had 4 different people working on this. One girl Gail Carter was not only a pain in the butt for paperwork, but she neevr called me once in all this time. The last call was to my real estate agent and she told her to call me as she was "TOO BUSY" to call me! I have talked to about 25 different depts and people on this case, no joke. No response yet. A man called that was an analyst on April 2, 2010 and I called back and another week has passed and no call back. In the mean time, my house sits vacant and I am temporarily styaing with relatives. I am paying taxes, heat and electric on the home. They have done nothing to help me and work in piece mail form. Instead of having me get them all they need and start working on it, they rack up fees on house and interest and foreclosure threats and collection calls and want this info one day, something else the next day etc. It's ridiculous to know that this is what I'm working with, a bunch of ###s and thye have a job and they have a home and i'm always wrong. I am sick and suffer from depression over this. I can't stay with relatives forever and will be homeless if they don't do something soon. I agrre, a lawyer should take on a class action lawsuit for us homewoners and help us save our homes? Isn't that was this country is all about? The president has told them to help and they just take their sweet time and don't care where people end up? We all should sit on the sidewalks of eevry chase bank countrywide and let them know we're MAD! That's being nice..I have also filed a complaint with tthe OCC regarding the short sale misconduct and am awaiting to hear from the bank on that one.. Some atty out there has to be able to help us? Come on, come forward!

I have been having just about the same problem with Chase. I have been trying to do a short sale since January 2017 and it's now May 2018. I moved out of the house in April of 2017 because I had a contract on the house and things looked like they were going to close, Chase led me to believe it would close by May so I moved out and started renting a place. Chase kept dropping the ball on it, wanted the new buyers to wait over 6 months to get into the house so the buyers walked. Ever since then Chase has declined possible contracts and here I'm still paying utilities and water and lawn care on the property not to mention spending time trying to sell it and check on the house. Every time I try to get answers from Chase I'm transferred to somebody else and told something completely different. I believe Chase is trying to get me to walk away from the house and let it go to foreclosure. I'm trying not to do that, at the very least deed in-lieu of foreclosure, but they won't work with me. Very frustrating. I plan on writing negative reviews and making negative comments about Chase and trying to reach out to the press until I get help with this. My case is much worse than I wrote above but it's such a long story that I just put a small amount of what I've been going thru. Chase is horrible, just horrible, to work with!

JPMorgan Chase can't wait to say bye to chase

Chase is unprofessional. I have been doing this home modification for six months. I sent in my paper work five times. All these people are correct. They do not know what they are doing. I called every week, different responses each week. I am not told I dont make enough money to receive a modification. Though I manage to pay most of my mortgage now. Gee! That makes sense. I have since closed all my credit cards with Chase and friends and family members are supporting me too. I will, soon as I get myself on my feet, change mortgage companies! Chase is extremely irresponsible, very bad communication, redundant and unbelievably lacking in management and underwriting skills. Can't wait to say bye to Chase.

This isn't the first time CHASE BANK online services has done this! They've done this on a number of times in order to "set up" the consumer to pay extra fees or late payments in the name of ripping off the customer for EXTRA MONEY!. This time I caught them! I have proof. I have the time, date and processing number of the payment I scheduled. #[protected] at 7:10PM EST on 1/13/2010 no late fees, no other fees, full mortgage paid scheduled to go in on the 15th. I logged in purposefully on the 13th to pay ALL of my credit card bills and schedule them all on that day to go in several days before they are due. There should have been no problem. I have NO PROBLEMS on any other site except HERE! yep.

So here I get these emails saying I haven't paid? huh? log in and it says on the 18th (today) STILL IN PROCESS? my bank account is loaded with 3K no problem paying you damn jerks! YOU were just WAITING for the 16th to pass because it was a holiday so you could charge me 42 dollars! YOU #$%^& I never had a late mortgage payment! you know what else? I tried emails through customer service, they replied back saying there were SOOO many overflowing emails, they couldn't reply in 24-48 hours, I had to WAIT 4-8 DAYS! This is a company that supposedly did so well this year for it's stockholders and was going to pay it's CEO's BIG BONUSES! I say..there is an unholy union between Mr James Dimon and the White House, and someone needs to get to the bottom of this. This bank is getting away with murder, and killing the American Consumer! Liars and Thieves!

We have been working with Chase since May on a Home Modification. We began making trial payments in June. Now 6 payments later we are still trying to figure out what is going on. Everytime we call its a different person, with a different request. Paperwork has been faxed multiple times only to have a new request a week later. Chase has built two new banks within 10 miles of my house. It seems they have used the governments bail out money to help themselves not the consumers.

I have been dealing with Chase Home Finance since I was 3 months behind last August 2008. They told me just to wait. No one called me and I finally hired a company out of Boston, paid them $1400 to call continuously for me, send papers etc. I have a sub-prime adjustable rate loan, they sent me a 3 month trial plan back in March, I made, not only 3 months, I continued to pay 6 months and STILL no paperwork or phone calls. Now they are asking for all of my paperwork all over again. I am going to seek legal advice next week to see what else I can do.

I sent one in the beginning of June. I have called at least 5 different times. The website says it takes 4-6 weeks. I called at the end of six weeks and they told me due to a merger it would take another 120 days. That was longer than the original time it was supposed to take. I called 2 days ago and was told they didn't receive part 3 of the app and that it was not available when I applied. I looked at my copy of my original application and it was in there. They also made me resubmit all of my bills. Now they are saying it will take another 30 days due to this when they already had all of this info once. I am so frustrated with all of this. I applied knowing I was going to need help. By the time they get to it I will already be foreclosed on.

Chase Home Finance is doing a terrible job on loan modifications. They don't want to do them; they have taken the govt. money and told the govt. to take a hike. They are not helping us in need of a modification. Like many others, I have sent my paperwork numerous times and they keep telling me the paperwork was lost and to resend. In the meantime of course, my mortgage payments are getting harder to make and I had to miss them and fell behind and of course accrued all sorts of late fees etc. They don't care! They have the money from the Feds and we can now forget it. Chase has been incompetent in dealing with this situation of loan mods. and many many Americans are saying the same thing. The govt. needs to take them to task and take back the money and then have HUD offer all of us VA or FHA financing. They should be ashamed of how they have treated American people. We are all saying the same thing.

Back on July 21, 2009 my husband and I were offered a home mortgage modification loan through our mortgage company CHASE Finance. This is the 2009 Obama Mortgage Relief Plan that is suppose to help homeowner’s get their interest rates and payments lowered to a more affordable amount. Well my husband and I are beginning o think that the whole thing is a scam. No way is President Obama aware of what these banks are doing to their customers with this program. After three trial period payments they are suppose to lower your interest rate and payment. It’s been over seven months, we have made 4 payments, we have never received any proposal with new interest rates and new payments, we have had to send 4 sets of paperwork (including hardship letters and pay stubs), we have had to sign or initial a 4506-T tax card every month, we are receiving our monthly mortgage statements showing us 8, 000 in arrears with hundreds of dollars in late fees, we do not have a single piece of paperwork showing the payments they auto debited from our account for the trial period which amounts to 5838.80, we have not received one call from them updating us on the status, when you call them you speak to someone different each time and are never given the same information, we have received 2 sets of papers saying we were in foreclosure only to be told when we called that the papers were mailed in error, we have been rudely talked to, we found out by calling Fannie Mae in Washington directly that the application has never even been finalized and sent to them for review. What are we suppose to do? They are destroying our credit…the stress has been unbearable…we have spent hours on the phone and typing complaint letters and most recently wrote to our state Congress. This is such a disgrace. We had never been late, we had good credit with them, we just wanted what we were entitled to. CHASE ought to be ashamed of what they are doing, but they don’t care. And through all this mess, I had a brain tumor (benign thank god) removed last May. We are so discouraged. I made it perfectly clear to the Fannie Mae Level 2 rep who is trying to help us that I will not make another payment to CHASE until they start to treat us with some respect, send us paperwork with some type of proposal, send us a current monthly loan statement showing the payments we have made and removing the 493.00 late fees. I cannot believe that Obama is letting this bank get away with such scams and ruining the lives of a lot of good people who do want to keep their homes. All we wanted was an interest rate lower than 8.5 and a lower mortgage payment. We are more than interested in filing a law suit against them.

JPMorgan Chase dishonest practices/interest rates

I have severe Polycystic ovarian syndrome & have severe facial hair growth. I was told this could be removed with Lasar Removal and minimal pain. After one treatment (which is all that I had), I was in severe pain, crying & shaking. That night, my face became red, swollen & full of open sores. They bled & excreted infection. This lasted for weeks. The clinic admitted this reaction was adnormal & gave me ointments for my face & advised me to take plenty of Benedryl. Nothing helped. I cancelled the treatments after paying a total of $763.70. The original amount was $3, 451.00. After many calls & emails, Ideal Image has now credited the account $2, 660.80. In the beginning it was made clear to me that this was 0% interest. Through all my calls to Chase Health Advantage, NO ONE mentioned interest being added to the account, for a total of $441.60. Each treatment cost is $690.00 & it was a miserable failure with terrible results. I have MORE than paid for being talked into this by Ideal Image's 'salesperson'. I was told today that Chase has the credit but will not acknowledge it until [protected]. Unbelievable.
This account needs to be credited in full. What a scam.

JPMorgan Chase stealing from customers

Definition of " PRE-PAID" Texas Workfoce Commision debit card for unemployment = can only spend what is on it! But according to CHASE (as in chase my money) in 2007 when I was on unemployment - I spent $400 more than what the prepaid card was loaded for - and they never called or gave me any notice of a problem then ...but now in 2010, when I find myself laid off, and call to inquire where my new TWC debit card is - they inform me they loaded it onto the card from 3 years ago - which of course I do not have. But they happily offer to cancel that card & send me a new one for $17.50 charge to be deducted from card balance - ok - I can choke that down, but then when I ask what the balance is (which I already know per TWC website) Chase informs of - SURPRISE - $400.00 less - WHY - because they took back the money they say was owed on the card from 2007 - Complete & utter BS, and they can't pull up statements from back then to explain what happened- they'll have to send off for them in 10 - 14 days...
Can't get statements - can't inform customer of a problem that supposedly existed 3 years ago - but can & do immeidiatly take $400 away from me today! MONEY that if they allowed a transaction to take place on a PRE PAID DEBIT CARD was wrong of them - HMMMMM. They tell me there is nothing I can do about it - well I will start here and hit ever place I can find to show the wonderful way the take care of their customers

They nailed me the same way.
Maybe worse?
My old Wa-Mu account cashed a check that I put a stop hold on. Despite: Online, Calling and going into the local branch to stop the check.
They cashed it anyways.
And just said I owe them $30. (I though that was a bounced check?)
They stole $400 and credited $30 to make interest. (Landlord: stole first, last and deposit+ he’s a lawyer from Seattle)
Soo… I closed it and told them to [censor]off!

Yesterday, I looked at my CHASE account: It says funds transfer $430!?
I was like Transfer? WTF!

When I opened with CHASE I was told: only government could take from an account…
I heard the Wa-Mu/Chase merge is a loophole to change our contract?

Soo, , , “I’m going to merge companies with my partner and change my agreement with the bank”… My new agreement says: 10% on every dollar I put in… why not? We signed an old agreement. I’ll just transfer the banker signature to this new agreement and it’s all legal… :P

I HATE! “JEWISH” GANGSTERS !

heheh :P (just poke’n fun) I’m not racist. don't sue me. :P

JPMorgan Chase loan modification per obama law

I applied to have my mortgage modified per the Obama Bill. I was on time w/my payments for the most part but strugling on a mothly basis. I was asked for a number of documents which I furnished, and checked from time to time the status of it since I did not hear back. A few months after I applied I was informed on one of my f/up calls that more documents were needed. I found out because I called, Chase never did. 1week later I received a letter dated 3/16/10 on 3/24/10 asking me to furnish them w/documents due the same date it was sent 3/16/10(documents that I had already given them but my divorce decree. At my last call I was told that if I was approved for this loan modification that it would have a negative effect on my credit. Now what I don't understand is that president Obama gave these banks funds to help us struggling Americans, so how can Chase get away w/these actions? I had them close my application. I need my credit. I questioned their actions and was rudely told that they did not get any money from president Obama and that they were a secure bank. I do believe they are alright, at the cost of our hard earned money. Unfortunately I am unable to refinance my mortgage. I am trying to restablish my credit because I had to file for bankruptcy. I feel like if my hands are tied.

I wish president Obama turns on them like he has done with the insurance companies. Enough is enough.

My name is Chris and my mortgage company is Chase. I hired a law firm named Realty law center based out of California. When I hired them i was already in foreclosure and had an auction date for Nov 22 2011 and I was scared cause I didnt know who to trust. So I hired Realty law center because of there reputation and because they had an “A” rating with the better business Bureau which made it a little easier for me. I dealt with the district manager of the company which is Francisco Salvat. I retain the firm to do a postponement for 1500 and 895.00 month thereafter to continue to delay the auction. Sure enough they were able to complete what they promised at this point i was convinced to try and do a loan modification with them which cost me another 3, 750 to retain the attorney to do that as well. Sure enough in 6 months they were able to get me modified to a 3% fixed 30 year rate, my payments dropped from 1787 a month down to 756 a month with taxed and insurance included. They were able to get a principle reduction of 96k which was a complete shock to me. they even got the lender to reduce the interest due from 34k down to 8k. These guys know what there doing and I hope my story helps other families like mine the guy i dealt with was Francisco Salvat and he can be reached at [protected] or [protected].

Sincerely,
Chris
Good luck and God bless.

Chapter IV
After a few days, that we posted our Chase story online (January 31ft 2011) we got a call from the office of Senator Bennett asking for our Chase account and that was it. One day later we got an email from Marianne McKiernan ( ABC 7 News)-that was on February the 8th, telling us that she read our story and that she was going to forward it to her contact at Chase Bank, and if we don’t hear from Chase within the next 5 business days, then to please let her know. Two days later on February 10th we got a call from Brenda Jones (HD 24 Executive Analyst at Chase Bank) she told me not to worry, and that they were going to take care of our account and hold the foreclosure. She also forwarded us an email that she sent to one of the Chase specialists with high priority executive complaint. After that we sent an email in response to Marianne (ABC 7news), telling her that Chase will work with on our case, and to thank for giving us hope again.

Days later we got a call from Elizabeth ……. (Bank Specialist from Chase), she told us not to worry because they were working on a new contract, and that we would be very happy, the new contract was going to be way better that the one that we received in June of 2010 ($ 818.00) and in the worse case scenario - it was going to be the same. We were extremely excited with the wonderful news, but in the meantime…time was passing by and we kept calling 4 to 5 times a week leaving messages to check the status of our loan modification. Once in a while we get a call back from Elizabeth Treppo (she is a busy woman) she always says that everything is going just fine.

On March 2nd, I spoke with Ms. Elizabeth, she read the terms of the new contract to me, and the payment was going to be $989.00. Of course, I was very disappointed and I asked her what happened with the contract of $818.00 that she had mentioned earlier. She said: "Mr. Del Moral don’t worry I’m working that out.” Two days later March 4th we got the envelope from FedEx, with the contract for $989.00! This was Friday, I called Ms. Treppo right away and left her a message, we were so desperate that we also called on Sunday, then again on Monday and left her a message on Tuesday. She called us back and told us that she is working on it and not to worry, and if it was necessary she would tell her boss to get involved in this case. We still keep calling every week (at least 3 to 4 times).

On March 7th, Ms. Elizabeth called and told me that the new contract will be ready this week…….. Nothing happened and we keep waiting.

On March 13th, the Sheriff came to my house and knocked the door, when I opened he asked if I was Mr. Fortunato Del Moral, in my mind I thought that they were coming to give the foreclosure order. He asked for my wife, I told him that she was at work; he called to check on her. He came by because the HOA was worried about us, because the Christmas decorations were still on, and the neighbors haven’t seen us. This was horrible, my wife spoke to the sheriff and he told her not to worry. That day, I called Ms. Jones I told her about what happened with the sheriff, that it was nothing to do with her or Chase but that we are desperate. Ms. Jones, once again, told me not to worry and that she understood how we feel, and that there would be a happy ending to our story.

On March 21st, we got a letter from Chase saying that our approval was denied or canceled because we never sent the contract back (?!).

Well…..Dear friends that read this story and this point you have no idea the level of stress that we are living, to give you an idea: my wife and I are sleeping in different rooms and we try not to talk one to each other, to avoid having to talk about the status of our Chase modification loan.

On March 22nd I got a call from Ms. Treppo, she told me that the new contract it’s almost done, she read me the terms and the payments are going to be $700 and change, and the first payment will due on June the 1st 2011, she was a little confused, she told me if we don’t receive the new contract on March 28th, then to please let her know.

We have to mention that each and every time we speak with Mrs. Jones and Ms. Elizabeth they are always exceptionally nice and they both give us a lot of hope.

On March 24th we received a call from Hamp Center Service (Obama’s office to help with the loan modifications). The caller's name was Ms. Robin, she told us that their office sent a letter to Chase and that we had to wait a couple of weeks. She instructed us to contact her directly if we don’t hear from Chase.

Today is Friday the 25th after a long day of waiting FedEx did not show up.

On the 28th another day of waiting for FedEx, nothing happened we called Ms. Elizabeth three times and left her messages.

At this point my dear friends my stress level is causing me to overeat, I am gaining weight and I can’t stop eating, I don’t want to do anything in my house, I don’t want to talk to anybody, my stress turning into a full blown depression.

Today, Thursday March 29th and I am hoping FedEx shows up…but honestly, we do not know what to think, we are so tired of waiting, calling and fighting, we have no idea what is going to happen or what to do at this point.
Our hours are like days, our days seem like months.
We are going to call Ms. Elizabeth and we are going to leave a message again.

On March 29th we called Ms. Jones and she told us- that everything was approved. She read the terms and conditions and the payment will be $700 and change, and the first payment would be due on June the 1st, but she didn’t see that the documents were sent at that moment she said that she was going to send an email to Ms. Elizabeth and also to the people in charge of sending the documents, and they would contact us to tell us when we are going to receive them. Also Ms. Jones explained to us, that once we receive the contract we have to read it, initial each page and sign it, and to please send it back as soon as possible to Chase, because it would take a few weeks to get the finalized contract back.

April 1st (fools day), this morning we got a call from Ms. Robin from the Hamp Center Service, she told me that we were approved and that Chase told her that the contract was sent to a different address, that is why we didn’t receive it, I asked her what the payment was per this new contract, and she told me it was $989.00! I explained to Ms. Robin, that we received that contract, but we didn’t sign it, because Ms. Elizabeth told us that they were working on another contract, she was kind of disappointed with us, and she told me that we cant be picky and can't play with the mortgage loan modification. I explained to her that this was quite a long story and everything we have done is exactly what Chase told us to do, two hours later Mr. Robin called back again -very excited, she spoke with her contact at Chase and they told her about the newly approved monthly payment of $700 and change, due on 1st of June. I thanked for her involvement in our case and I promised to keep her informed about what is happening.

One hour later Ms. Elizabeth called me and told me that she was waiting for new documents and that for sure our new payments were going to be $700 and some, due June 1st, like always Ms. Treppo gave us a lot of hope. I have to wait and see if we get the new contract next week...

Today is April 17th, is my wife’s birthday, and it was horrible, normally on this day my gift to her is to plant flowers all around the house, she loves flowers, usually we invite friends ….today was different….we went out for breakfast, and I told her how depressed I felt, I didn’t know if we could keep the house, after that I slept all day long. I did that so that I wouldn't have to see how bad my wife was feeling. At 8 pm she bought a very small cake (about 3 inches high 3 inches wide) and she put a candle in it and told me to take a picture, so we can send it to our kids and pretend that everything was fine. Dear friends, I’m giving you some details of our every day life to show you how bad the atmosphere is in our house.

Going back to our Chase story ….on April 18th I spoke with Ms. Jones and said that she sent an email to Ms. Elizabeth and to the people in charge of finalizing the document to check on what the problem was?

On April 19th Ms. Robin from Hamp Center Service called us to follow up on our case, and I told her that we are still waiting for the documents and she told us that she (once again) was going to call her contact at Chase, and that she would call me back.

Today is the 20th ……I honestly don’t have any hope at all, I have to start calling Ms. Elizabeth one, two…three times and wait for her to call me back, I think I’m going to call Ms. Jones to see if she has any news, no news or bad news. I will see.

I’m so tired and I think my wife is too.

Today is April the 22nd and Ms. Elizabeth called to give me the update, she told me that everything is the same, the only thing is that the department that is in charge of writing the documents stopped the process (?), and she wasn't sure until when, she said to call her on Monday the 25th and to try not to worry because everything was going well.

Today is Sunday the 24th at this point, I don’t know what to think, I don’t know what to do, I have gained 30 pounds as of today.

Monday the 25th, I left a message to Ms. Elizabeth and a sent an email to Ms. Jones to check the status but so far no reply.

Tomorrow, I will wait and see...

My advice with this long experience, if somebody is trying to get a loan modification, the first thing they have to is to go Office Depot and buy a big stationary book and to write each and every detail of their own story down from the first day.

Well dear friends soon you will get Chapter no. 5, I have no idea if the story will have a happy ending…..stay tuned.

Dear Senator,
We hope you will be able to read this letter. We represent thousands of Colorado residents that have hope in The Affordable Homes Program. In theory, when President Obama explained the program, it sounded really hopeful in this economy. But we are not sure if these were just words or someone who is supposed to be implementing this program is not fulfilling their duties.

Our case is one of many we hear about in which the program did not work. In July of 2009, we sent all of the required paperwork to the Program Making Home Affordable Chase Bank in order to take advantage of the program. Nothing was said to us as far as the timeline of when we would hear back with some sort of results. Since then, we have been on the phone with Chase Bank representatives (they call them specialists) with zero results. We get a different story each time.

Last November (2009), finally someone told us that they have not received any of our documentation and there was no record in the bank….Right then and there she has arranged for a quick interview and said we qualified for the program. She has said that we were ready to enter a trial period of three months (we make 8 payments on time of trial Nov thru June #1) but we had to resubmit all of the paperwork that has already been previously submitted by us.

On December of 2009, We received a letter said the our trail payment has not been received. We did paid by phone on December 10th, we kept receiving this type of letter and if you see we did paid on time all the trial period.(copies attached #2).

We have kept calling every week or two to check on the status of the process with no resolution. In the meantime, they kept asking us for copies of our 2009 tax returns even thought they had a signed authorization to check with IRS. We have faxed those taxes at least 10 times to the Bank and each time we called to check with the bank and got confirmations of receipt from the people on the phone(copies attached #3).

The time has passed by, we kept calling every week. In May 26th of 2010 we received a letter that we didn’t get in the program Home Affordable Modification because we didn’t provide them with the documents that there request in the time frame. (!)(?). (copies attached #4).

Mr. Senator, you have no idea what the level of my family’s frustration is. We called again and spoke with another “ specialist” - Mike, who said that he doesn’t understand why the denial letter was received by us because he saw in his “system” we are in the program. That was very exciting. Mike made my day. Several days later, at the end of June, we finally got the contract.

They were going to reduce our payment from $1064 to $818.82 The contract explained that for seven years, the payments were going to be fixed at $818.82 and subsequently would go up but not to the original level of payment.(No copies of the contract, we send the all package sign and we never received our copies back)

We were telling our friends that the program works, and that it was worth keeping up communication with the Bank no matter how frustrating the process was. Each time I called, it took me up to an hour to get through to someone.

On July 15th, The bank cashed the check of $ 818.82 that we send with the contract, the call a quick payment(copies attached #5) and they advised us that our “first payment” was to be August 5th. We signed the direct deposit for the new contract ($ 818.82) It was established in the contract.

We kept calling the entire time to check on the contract status as we never received a copy of the new contract from the bank. Each time we called, we were told, we were approved: “please do not worry about this, you are in the program” now your first payment is going to be September 5th.
The problem arose when our funds were not taken out of our account for the mortgage payment ($ 818.82).

October 1st, no money was taken out either, we called and checked - once again were told: “no worries”.

On September 7th there was an envelope received by us - turned out, Mr. Senator, there was a same contract with different numbers (copies attached #6). Now our payments were going to go up from $1068.66 (original payment) to $1071. We called once again; they told us that there was a mistake in their “system”. We call Chase and asked whether we had a choice, they said no. What a joke!( Our economic situation was and still the same) We didn’t sign the second contract.

Chase kept sending us bills for $1067.99 (the trial amount), each time we paid on time November, December (copies attached #7).
On December 9th of 2010, the day of our 32nd wedding anniversary, we got 8 certified letters and others 8 letters in the regular mail (copies attached #8), said that we were in default because we failed to pay the required monthly payment since 03/01/2010. And if we don’t, pay within 32 days of this notice, Chase will accelerate the maturity of the loan. We are attaching copies of all the payments in 2010(copies attached #9) only 3 payments are Missing: August, September and October, this are the payments that Chase was supposed to take from our account, but the took July’s payment (direct deposit $818.82) as per their initial instructions.

Mr. Senator, this is our last hope to have justice. We are not the only people in this boat. But we feel that it is our duty to inform you what American Families are going through on a daily basis.
As you know the banks are hiring people with no experience and they give no training at all. And we the people are paying all the consequences.

We are so tired of all this“game”the Chase as be playing with us for almost 2 years. Please Help Us! All this process has been a torture, the stress is killing us, we don’t know if tomorrow we going to have our house. 'We Don't Want To Give Up! All this time we did everything Chase told us to do, we send all the papers every time the ask for it, we didn't miss any payments in this long period of the trial. We Don't Know What Else To Do?

Since this is a really long story, we can send you a power of attorney for our Chase account so you can see the entire detail.
We know that they have all the “records”, as each time we called, we asked to confirmed the notes from the previous conversation and you will also find all of the document and the two contracts that they sent us.

The American dream Mr. Senator became an American nightmare.

Sincerely,

Fortunato Del Moral Margaret Del Moral

President Of the United States of America Mr. Barack Obama

Dear Mr. President,

We hope you will be able to read this letter, we understand that there several filters for security reasons. We represent millions of Americans that have hope in your Affordable Homes Program. In theory, when you explained the program, it sounded really hopeful in this economy. In the meantime, the time has passed by, I kept calling every week, in June of 2010 I received a letter that we didn’t qualify for the program (!)(?).

Mr. President, you have no idea what the level of my family’s frustration levels are. They said that because I filed Bankruptcy in 2008, the bank had to hire a lawyer to take me out of the bankruptcy status, that’s why my payments were going to be MORE. I asked whether I had a choice, they said no. What a joke!

Mr. President, I told this “specialist” that someone is making our President look like a big cloud. Because what you say and what the Home Affordable Refinance Program
is doing are two complete different things. That is the reason why we are writing this letter. This is my last hope to have justice. We are not the only people in this boat. My friends tried discouraging me from writing. But we feel that it is our duty to inform you what American Families are going through on a daily basis. Since this is a really long story, we are going to give you some time to assign someone to our case so you can see all the details and provide you with a power of attorney so that they can go into our account to read the entire story.
I know that they have all the “record”, as each time I called someone confirmed the notes from the previous conversation and also you will find all the document and the two contracts that they send us.

Mr. President, we did vote for you. We never thought that you could personally help us but because we thought you were the right person to lead the American people.
I hope you’ll find the time to look into this letter and don’t take this personally, this is what we, the hardworking American people are going through.
The american dream Mr. President became a American nightmare.

My wife and I tried back in May for loan modification and we were told we were only 2 months behind and did not quailify, but we in fact were 3 months behind. We have repeatedly tried since then to do another loan modification and are flat out being ignored. We are told they are mailing the packet and we never recieve one.Past Sun. we were served foreclosure papers and we still have not gotten a reply on loan modification.I think we all should come together and file a class action law suit on Chase for overlooking, not responding or just flat out lying to customers.Anyone interested can contact me at cbuffy4@yahoo.com.I dont know how to go about it but the way we are being treated I will sure figure it out

Arlene -

I have to give you an earful of what REALITY is - from my standpoint.

I filed the MHA first way back in July 2009 with Chase - not long after I was laid off. I had been in my home 3 years at that point - bought just as the market was at it's highest in 2006. I bought at 6.5% and had a bit more than 5 % down. The house had declined in value some (not like the person above) from about 264 to 229...so i was only negative equity about 8.5k.

I had my personal banker at Chase help me with all the paperwork - it took us hours and I was appreciative. About a month or so later - I received the terms - and the four trail payment dates (the first of Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec). I made each payment on time - or a day or two ahead.

Within a few weeks - as the person above described - I kept getting phone messages and mail that material was not sent in properly - although it was certified by the personal banker. I did the paperwork all over again - plus added all the material they asked for (they not only wanted the 4506T but then asked for me and my wifes entire tax return (which was over 70 pages). I faxed that all in the first week of November (we filed our taxes on Oct 15). It cost me 1 dollar per page - so the entire form was about 90 dollars.

I received calls at both my residence and cell phone daily (usually two calls a day - some days just one) during the rest of november and december - putting me on hold - as they then got back on the line - to tell me everything was "just perfect" - and I should hear something soon.

Between Christmas and New Years - I had called several times to see if I could get an answer - as the trial period was ending. They had no info.

Finally - 2 days before the New Year - I receive a phone call that says all of my information is now "outdated" - and i need to send it in again. As my wife was self employed - i needed to also have a CPA send in a certified P&L statement. In the meantime - keep making the trial payments. No problem.

I sent in all the info again. More money to fax.

Soon i received the daily calls again - for a few days all was ok. Then - someone comes back and says - "you need to sign your hardship affidavit form" - - to which i reply - "there's no place for a signature" - which he then said - "you're underwriter - kristina gordon - requests it - even tho there is no place for it."

I then FAX ANOTHER copy in again. However, I just signed the paper i faxed in about a week earlier. Apparently - that was wrong. I received a call Jan 19 - ish to tell me that the form i signed and faxed and the date that i signed and dated were not matched. I was told "I need to download a clean copy and then re-write it - and make sure I sign it and make sure the fax date and the signature on my hardship letter matched."

"BLEEEEP!"

So i re-wrote the entire hardship letter - four pages front and back - and re-faxed it. More money for the accountant. This time - I went back to Chase - who offered to go through the materials and fax it themselves - which they did. Certified.

In the meantime - at the end of Jan - I go back to my personal banker and tell her the story. The manager comes in and listens. I tell him i hear of stories about Chase giving people the runaround - as I had researched - and he says (I swear) - in a mumbled tone "I would get a lawyer if i were you."

I came out to the car and told my wife - we decided that would be overkill - and it's all just a formality.

In the meantime - I keep making the payments - and I received my two daily calls telling me all was just fine. At the end of Feb - I was told the underwriter had reviewed and written the information - and that the material had gone to a supervisor - and I would get my offer soon.

OH BOY.

After March 1st - I was called - expecting the usual chit chat - only to be informed my information was now outdated - and I needed to send it all in again. Plus a new P&L...it was tax season - and I had to pay an accountant to do that. And re-fax. Hundreds more spent.

I went to Chase - sat down with the manager who told me to get the lawyer - - I was pretty upset - - and I asked him flat out - "am i being taken?" He assured me no - this time - and said if i was patient - it would all work out in my favor.

By April the first - all the info was back in - and accounted for. I received sporadic calls this time - about every 3 days - - but each person assured me that all was good. I exasperatedly told that people on the phone that "last Feb the underwriter was finished - and an offer was forthcoming - why was it taking so long?". Never got a straight answer. Just a few days ago - i was called - and he said again - "you are perfect - and an offer will be made within two weeks." HOWEVER, I received a letter today stating that I was denied because "repeated requests for proper documentation were not met".

Ridiculous. I never missed a payment - even tho it started in September - and now its a day before June - in fact I was early. I sent in HUNDREDS of pages of documentation - alot of the work performed and proofed by Chase bankers - got yanked around by stupid requests (sign the back even tho there is no place for it - etc) only to be denied. I made it my business to make sure i answered every call - sometimes they came within minutes of each other (on each phone) for months - and this is what i get?

So - now i have this lovely paper trail - an electronic list of each call i received from chase - and now it's time to do exactly what the chase manager suggested. I am getting a lawyer - and I am suing. This process is NOT for the workers. It is NOT to help Americans out. It's to string us along until they have a reason (valid 0r make believe) to not adjust the mortgages - keep the money they've been given - and take our properties.

I tried to call today - when i received the letter - but the offices are all closed til Tuesday for the holiday. Oh well - I guess I will just use this time to document all this crap and get everything ready for the lawyer. I will go to chase tuesday and pull all my accounts.

I work as a Homeownership advisor for Chase! I have to say that a lot of the complaints seem to be from misinformation or lack of knowledge. Calling into a collections center is the first mistake, they are there to set you up for repayment because they are COLLECTORS!
Get ahold of a homeownership advisor that can assist you in putting a loan modification package together, gathering ALL supporting docs in a timely manner. Some forms are time sensitive and have to be totally current or they will ask for them again, such as the 4506-tEZ forms. Also having the most current Applications forms will help.
The Homeownership Advisor will be your main point of contact through the process but please realize that if you are not current on your mortgage, you will still get calls from the collections department trying to get payment. If in foreclosure, the process will not stop unless you indeed qualify for a modification. So you will have appraisers come out and or realtors come out to inspect the property, sometimes we have sent someone just to see if the house is occupied and not abandoned. We will try to protect our investment as much as we can.
If your house has been sold and you didn't know it, please realize that you would have missed at the least 6 monthly payments. You cannot expect to live in the house for free for that long and not realize that your house might get sold!
To understand the MHA program (OBAMA PLAN) you do have to realize that the plan is not going to help everyone. Although Chase services many loans, they do not own most of the loans that they service! They are owned by outside investors and or other lending institutions. Investors do NOT have to take part in the MHA program, they have the ability to opt out. Although most investors have a modification program in place with their servicing contract with CHASE, most are not as generous as the MHA program. As a loan servicer we are held to the contract that we signed in order to service the loan. This is one reason for being denied a loan modification. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans or the only loans that are mandated to follow the MHA guidelines because the government runs them, all other institutions are strongly encouraged to follow suit but again they do not have to if they opt out. Chase has not opted out of the MHA program and are trying to modify under the MHA guidelines first, if you do not qualify under that program they try to then qualify you under the CHASE modification program called CHAMP!
If you have equity in your home, that can disqualify you even under MHA guidelines. If you can sell your house for more then what you owe on your loan, you might be encouraged to sell your home because you cannot afford the mortgage.
If you are struggling with other debt that is causing you to struggle but your mortgage payment is less that 31% of your gross monthly income, you will not qualify under any program. You need to do your part in lower your expenses if your bills or lifestyle has become excessive. We will not help you to keep affording the lifestyle you have become accustomed to.
Realize that not everyone qualifies for principal reduction and the chances of it happening are slim. This should not be an expectation nor is it a right.
There are few technical issues that if you are not a loan office, you might not understand fully. There are 2 side that we have to consider,
1. 30% of your gross monthly income
2. Your loan amount at 2% with a 30 or 40 year amortization
to explain further. If your loan is currently at 6% interest rate you will have 4% of play with your payment amount (all mod's are full P&I) meaning that the amount of assistance that you could receive could be substantial. If you are in an option arm loan or neg am loan and your minimum payment is already at 2% and the floor rate is 2%, you will see no assistance unless the terms are extended but it will be minimal. This is not the full extent of how it is looked at and qualified but this is a major factor.
Understand that not everyone will get assistance just because they are enduring hard times. People can make too little or too much to qualify although new rules will try to get you into a forbearance plan for up to 6 months if you are on unemployment or make too little, allowing you time to try and get employment in order to qualify you at a later time but this does not go on indefinitely! Eventually the bank will have to sell the home to recoup as much as they can in order to offset the losses incurred on your loan. The hard part of my job is telling someone there is nothing we can do to save their home.
If you need assistance go to a Homeownership Center if available in your area or even go to a local non-profit organization for help will filling out a mod package. Good Luck and Godspeed!

Good luck. I hope this works for you. My advice for you would be to contact FHA IMMEDIATLY as well. We went through all the same BS that everyone on this site went through. Did everything we were asked to do and even when Chase told us that everything was fine, two days ago a realtor showed up at the door and informed me that my home of 15 years had been sold at a Sheriffs Auction.

We contacted FHA and they informed us that someone at Chase dropped the ball, but oh well too late. We were lied to, scammed and now, I'm telling you GET A LAWYER! Trust NO ONE! It's too late for me... save your home.

Mr. Jeff Bartel, Chase Special Credits Officer called me and talked to me that morning, 11/12/2009, and I remembered very well what he told me in our conversation. I was confused because I didn’t know why Chase was calling me for 9740 properties. (I didn’t know that USB has closed) and I didn’t know that Chase has taken over the loan. Jeff Bartel just didn’t explained to me why Chase was calling me except for the payments, I asked him how come Chase is calling and not UCB. I shall quoted what he said”…. It is because of you, the bank crashed…” in his exact response. I can tell he is a debt collector, a professional one. I was explaining to him I have financial difficulty and I wanted a lower rate on interest payment and I have in loan modification, but I didn’t think he is interested in hearing my story. He is a real credit collector, an officer and a specialist by his title. He left me his phone numbers and told me that he was my contact. He had not called my again until last month with all those harassement and threat by the receiever, Mary Hoopes, and court paper served to my home. I searched and found his name and phone number, so I called him and wanted to find out where I was at in the foreclosure proceeding. Then it was only the second time I got his voice mail about my property in Oakland will be foreclose in mid of May this year. I am still in pre-foreclose period. In these recent months, I received tons of letters from realtor for short sale. Lawyers for loan modification process. Everyone claimed that they will give me good result with 100% guarantee. The XX law group charge me $15000 for the property in Oakland. They have been pushing me on signing the contract and paying the installment retianer. I was hesitating to pick them because they are not in the Bay Area. They haven’t been asking for any documents from me except they tried to talked into signing the contract and they now want a revision of the contract after $15000 still they couldn’t give me 100% guarantee now. The risk is on your own after the fee has been paid and the work may not get the result I wanted. (I learned from a lawyer that the average price range to do loan modification is $3000 per house. )

I want to complaint about professional misconduct of Bruce Cornelius Bar # 065525 for intentionally obstructing justice me and having my legal representative appear in court. He is a lawyer by profession and I am not. I did not get a chance to defend myself or hire someone to defend me on my behave. Even a murderer can a legal counsel by public defender. Why I couldn’t have a chance to do so. Here is why I said that
On 2/16/2010 at 9:00 am, I got a 5 min call from Bruce Cornellius, just like all the debtors phone call I have, they told me that they are lawyer and they are going to sue me in the Alameda court house and he said “ …you ( meaning me) don’t have to be there…. ”
I said to myself, if like you said I don’t have to be there, then why do you call. It must not be important. I have never receive any written message from any law firm nor ever heard of his name before. His statement” you don’t have to be there. “ is intentionally misleading to me . He never explain what is the court appearance for. If someone call up and said, send me a $1000 cash by putting in an envelop and mail it to the P.O.Box #. Would you follow the instruction and do that. Isn’t that now lawfirm are not providing any local mailing service to the staff lawyers. I don’t know what this court appearance all about. The court day was Feb 18, 2010. Two days from this call. I can certainly get some kind of mail overnight. I haven’t heard of his name prior to this phone call. Nor I was service. I do get threatening calls from collectors, like the debtor collector officer, if you don’t pay. You will be sue by a lawyer. But what is true and what is not true, a lot of these phone calls everyday. I told my lawyers. I wish I am dead. They are driving me crazy. There is only so much I can take from Chase. I tell you, from the same court house dealing with the tenants in that property. I filed a small claim in August 2009 and the court day was arranged to December 2009. I have to service and service to make sure that the tenants get the notice every step has to be done correct or the court house will throw out the case. I was service at home this time on the following Monday Feb 22, 2010. A woman called Mary Hoopes called me and demanded I turned over the rent role and everythings to her. She told me that she was appointed by the court to take over and her charge was 170 dollars an hours. I told her right away. You are not hired by me. She said that there is an injunction on me to go to the property. I will be thrown out by the police. Later, that day, a server served me. She has done a lot to my property in the following days. She kept harassing and threaten me, like towing of my vehicles with a lot of my personal property in them on site. Fussing and massing around on my properties. I got more calls from the tenants. She talked and passed out letters to the tenants and have the tenants send her the rents. She was the one collecting the rents. I took the court paper to the lawyer, I have hired and he told me that Chase is suing me for a million dollars and there was another court day we missed March 4, 2010 because the lawyer originally working on my loan modification back out because he is not a real estate lawyer and he doesn’t go to court and in between of looking for another lawyer. I am trying my best to reverse my very unfortunate situation. I worked but just have not been pay for last three months since last year December. I have tenants who has not been paying me. She has not pay the since last year June and still living there now. If I have money to spare, I would hire a lawyer to get rent from them. There are tenants who lost their jobs or learn that the house will be foreclose, therefore they are taking the advantage of not paying. It is a domino effect of today’s economy. The servers, the real estate receiver, the debt collection the loan modification lawyers the one who benefit from these hard time.
Jeff Bartel said that because of me UCB crashed. He has over estimated me. UCB got the money in their hands to lend and they are the one who decide to lend or not to lend and my couple of thousands of dollars per month cannot not make the Bank who was being traded in the security exchange crash. No one foresee the future and when you will be broke and unemployed.
Chase was one bank that has absorbed all those other closing banks mortgage out there, like Washington Mutual and United Commercial Bank and others. Jeff Bartel is a very cynical and hostile person with prejudice and hatred to us, those who was not able to pay with the down and dirty tactics and strategies. If he cut off my only money source and spend unnecessary money for me. A
I get no help, no money from Obama to do my job. Chase isn’t getting Obama’ support, sponsor and promise to put us, the foreclose properties owner to a death end. Remember, I am also a tax payer. Chase bank get my tax dollars to stay alive and absorbed other banks. This is a vicious cycle that give Jeff Bartel, Mary Hoopes, Bruce Cornelius jobs.
I have cut down as much spending as I can, as I try very hard, only if there is any chance to get back on my feet. I have made these money before, can I do it again, as long as I am still breathing. I have asked myself. Do I still have any hope not being destroyed by Chase’s stratgic debt collectors. I am deeply disturbed by all this happening accumulatively over a period of time, I am feeling very hopeless and helpless. Human being are very fragile there are only so much of these bombardments I can take. I want Chase to know that . We didn’t take those money like the bank CEO as bonus and spend them in luxury. We are small people who hit hard by this economy with job loss. A lot of the money was spent in the ever increasing real property taxes to save of city budget, State and Federal taxes. Even if you don’t eat, you still have to pay your taxes.
My lawyer who represent me to answer the 1 million dollars lawsuit charge me $5000 retainer fee and 285 dollars an hour. He has not done a thing for me. It appears to me that he aligned with Chase and serve for Mary Hoopes as their messager to me. Mary Hoopes pad lock my house with personal belonging in it. Those are tool for making a living, not my tools. I request to have them taken out and return to the owner. It was denied. They planned to sale them along with the properties in auction. My lawyer only told me to follow what Mary Hoopes said, otherwise Mary Hoopes will not coorperate with him. My vehicle on premise got towed by myself because Mary Hoopes wanted them out. My lawyer said if Mary Hoopes towed them would be very expensive. So far, he has not done anything for me. except just too much of what Mary Hoopes said and Mary Hoopes want. He is the lawyer, not Mary Hoopes. Mary Hoopes at the same time did improvement on the property, including a new water meter that is not needed. I hope she would do it after forecloser because I am still the one paying the bills but she the one calling the shot. I would be thrown out by the police if I ever show up on the premise according to her. What is justice in America?
With Chase doing these to me, it can only drive me deeper and deeper in debt and never be able to climb out to this Abyss.
I was told that President Obama has given the Chase and other banks our taxes dollars to help the bank for our foreclosure problem but where has the money gone. It has been used to hire more executioners and to kill the foreclose property owners.
I am not alone in this, If I live to make money Chase will get paid, if I die they will get nothing from me.

Because of the economic downturn I lost part of the household income. I contacted Chase and told them about this. They offered no help because the mortgage loan was less than 12 months old. We could not afford the loan payments. We asked if there were modification options, but since our income issues seemed long term they said no. So we decided to put the house on the market 2 1/2 months before the foreclosure date. We had many lookers but no firm offer. Two weeks before the foreclosure date we contacted Chase and asked them if we could extend the foreclosure date because we had two offers that we were in the negotiation process. They said there was NO way they could extend it without the short sale package being submitted (even though we were not going to short sale the property) or they had a submitted offer sheet. Because Chase was unwilling to extend the date, one party back out immediately. I immediately filled out the short sale packet sent it to my realtor for him to fill out remaining information then we submitted by fax it the next day. Chase didn't "get it" for another 8 days, even though we continued to fax it everyday after we originally submitted it. After they finally received it they said it wasn't uploaded, so they would not talk to my realtor, my attorney or anyone else that I had authorized. The other interested buyer didn't make up their minds till the day before the foreclosure date. We submitted the bid. Chase got all the paperwork. I called and confirmed it. The still sent my property into foreclosure and tried selling my property by auction. No one bought it for the price Chase wanted at auction, so Chase maintained the property. But I still can't sell it. CHASE WOULD RATHER PAY ALL THE FEES FOR FORECLOSURE THAN MAKE THEIR MONEY BACK FROM ME SELLING THE PROPERTY. What a way to do business!
