Misrepresentation of just energy
During the summer months, Just energy customer service representatives were advertising help to lower my DTE gas bill. With a promise of a 100 dollar SAMS club gift card. Well to make a long story short, I never received the gift card because every time I tried to download the card from my email it wouldn't never open. Mind you I never notice the change in my bill until the colder months. That's when I did in fact notice that my bill was extremely high. Come to find out I am paying DTE and Just Energy my bill was never lowered. I recently contacted the customer service and asked to end the account with them and instead of the CS rep grant my request. She sent me another email link for a $20 dollar gift card for SAMS club. I do not wish to continue business with you due to the fact that it has not helped me in any kind of way. To be truthfully it has gotten me deeper in a whole. I believe I gave the rep more than enough notice before the next bill cycle. But I found that I'm still being charged for services.
Desired outcome: All I desire is to end the account with just Energy
They wouldn't accept electronic payment from bank on third bill
I signed up with Just Energy. The first couple of payments, my payments went through electronically through my bank. The third payment was not accepted by them electronically. They sent me an email saying that they hadn't received it. I got on my computer and brought up my bank bills paid. It showed it had been processed.
I took a picture of that and sent it to Just Energy. I contacted the bank and they told me that they had issued a paper check because Just Energy hadn't accepted the electronic payment. Because of that it was late. I always pay my bills on time. Just Energy was going to shut my power because payment was late by about 2 days. Since they still hadn't received payment, Ashley, from the bank, suggested that maybe I should put a stop payment on first check and they would issue another one. They wouldn't charge me for the stop payment. I was so upset with Just Energy. I have never been late paying my bills. I opted to pay the $175 to get out contract with them. They charged me $25 on the final bill for the stop payment. I don't think that was right. I had paid my bill on time.
Unauthorized procurement charges through socal gas
Just Energy has been fraudulently charging us a procurement charge on our monthly SoCal Gas bill. We should have been checking our bills. After we changed to paperless billing, we became lax on checking the details of our monthly gas bill from SoCal Gas. We checked our current gas bill and found Just Energy charged a procurement charge. We never authorized them, we never signed a contract, and we have no record of speaking with them. We checked previous bills and found Just Energy has been fraudulently charging us a procurement charge for a while. We tried calling Just Energy, but they were not cooperative. SoCal Gas provides our gas service, so we called them. They are sending us a letter so we can terminate Just Energy.

Service interruption
I spent four hours on phone speaking with you, reliant energy amd Centerpoint. I have called several times about the WRONG apt address to be corrected. I was promised on 2/7/22 that my lights would not be turned off and you were working to correct the address. Well, 2/8/22 that is exactly what happened. Lights off!. When calling your team I was told I had to apply for new service with correct service address 15500 Cutten Rd APT 1907, Houston, Tx 77070.
I have spoke with Reliant and paid fees for new service. Meanwhile they can not assure my lights will be on 2/9/22. I have food that has spoiled, apartment manager had to break my lock. I have gotten little or no assistance from your company. I was told to hold for two minutes on 2/8/22 to speak with supervisor or someone to assist me. I held on for 1 hr and 3 minutes, when I finally hung up and called back. Just to see you were closed!
This is very disheartening and communication upon your part has been neglected. So, I have no lights, a broken lock and 38 degrees temperature. My daughter was looked out of my home for 4 hrs in the cold.
I need to speak with manager ASAP. This is very poor customer service as you are suppose to be voted the BEST in Houston.

Awful customer service
My home is pending sale and I requested an extension for my payment of TWO days. I had to speak to a manager who finally authorized the extra two days. My daughter came home from school today to an extremely hot house where my pets have been all day. MY POWER WAS DISCONNECTED. After spending 20 minutes talking to different people and finally getting the approval. Now I am on hold again, and have spoke to several women who I believe are in India, and none of them know what's going on. It is ridiculous.
Free nights plan
I changed from the rate shield elite plan to a nights free plan. The EFL states the 2000 kwh will be @ 14.2cents, it's being charged at 20.4cents. With a note at the bottom: "Please note that your Energy charge has changed by .013063/kwh." On my bill it's a $147.00 difference. No notice, no reason just a small note on my bill.
Very dissatisfied with this issue. Now let's see what excuse I'm given.
Energy
I am no longer with Just energy because I was lie to. I was on a prepaid service with this company now they claim I was under a contract.so no I am not paying $400.00 dollars for a contract that I never had. I should have made better research for this company, I really hate the idea off charging some for a contract they never had. on top of everything the lady at ambit told me that they have never had pre paid service lies.
Residential power
**FRAUD ALERT** Due to lax and negligent business practices, Just Energy has allowed a residential energy account I be fraudulently opened in my name. Despite my best efforts to seek a resolution to this matter and have the account closed, Just Energy refuses to communicate with me regarding this matter. At all costs, avoid doing business with this company.
I have filed complaints with the Houston Police Department, the Federal Trade Commission, the Public Utilities Commission of Texas, and the Better Business Bureau. I am incurring ongoing financial damages due to Just Energy's delay in addressing this matter. As such, I have referred this matter to an attorney in order to pursue this as a civil matter and seek compensation for ongoing damages.
I do not recommend that any person do business with this company. Due to irresponsible and negligent business practices, you may find yourself in a bad situation with no semblance of resolution. What's worse, despite my repeated efforts to resolve the matter directly with Just Energy, no member of their staff has contacted me directly in over a month or attempted communications.

Would be reduced from $320 to under $200 a month and my first month bill was over $1100. Yes eleven hundred dollars. I immediately switched companies and NO I'm not going to pay them one penny of it.

Someone coming to my door??
I had a man come to my door at about 6:30pm had a name tag in a lanyard worh Just Energy logo. He claimed to be visiting all customers to promote some kind of 20th anniversary thing? I think? I didn't think it was legal to come to my door anymore, and if I'm already a customer why not mail me or email me information? I put an email on file today. When I called to complain about this guy I was basically brushed off and my question if this guy was with them or not went unanswered.
Horrendous experience!
The company exhibits a continuing pattern of horrendous customer service. On May 15th, 2018, I contacted the company to change my natural gas service address from a Dallas, Ga to Acworth, Ga. I was informed it would be easy and taken care of simply. My service started at my new address on the 26th of May. I continued monthly payment as I have always done for the past 2.5 years I've used the company as a service provider. On August 2nd, 2018, there was a notice left on my front door at the new address saying my gas had been disconnected. I contacted the Just Energy. They admitted something went wrong in the billing but stated I might have to pay a reconnect fee. Absolutely ridiculous. Eventually, after quite some time on the phone, the fee was waived.
My family went two days without hot water. I had to take off a day from work to wait for re-connection. And please keep in mind, this was after I had been paying month after month, on time, every time. Everything seemed fine.
Today, I received another notice that my gas would be shut off. I called the company. No resolution. Asked for a manager. No resolution. They are now stating that even though they can see payments made, and I confirmed the last 3 months with them, there is still an outstanding balance of $175 that I absolutely do not owe. They state that the payments have been credited to the old address, at which I no longer live, and that I will need to pay for both addresses. Third call! They see the issue, they see where they made a mistake, and yet they refuse to correct it! I've lost money, I've lost time, and still, they are asking I provide more proof payment was made, even after they say they can see the payments!
Whether through ignorance or a willful desire to collect more than they are owed, Just Energy has proven to be one of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of utilizing.
Billing
Sales person came to my door and explained to me would get a better deal with a fixed rate I absolutely bought it and signed up. I was told that I would only see a couple of dollars difference on my gas bill which was a lie. So I immediately went on line started reviewing my last 12 and noticed I have been getting charged more than what I expected! This company is full of [censor]! I have cancelled my account with them but was told would take 1-2 billing cycles!
Reason you will not save money versus consumers
Sales person nice... Makes you feel like you're going to get a better deal with a fixed rate😬 I absolutely bought it and signed up.
But I wanted to know exactly how much was I going to save and what the difference was in cost... So immediately I started diving into my last 12 months bills! Please do this - you're going to get ripped off...
Contract that they signed me up for was of straight 4.99 per mcf used. Sales pitch is why is this going to help you while because consumer energy's rates change every month her supply demand what not... But my question is how much so here we go!

Total rip off for the year $139.27 however there is a clause that I don't have in front of me that if you go over a certain mcf your rate change to double for that month.. Ok so apparently the company just energy gives out credits of points every three months that you can go online and get by form of if certificates or some online store or something
It ends up being about $25 every three months.. So you get $100 back in form of gift certificates that you can go on their site and redeem basically.
🤷♀️just energy... When you sign people up for your service you need to go through their mcf usuage and what they're being charge for the last year through company there with before making them believe that they're saving something with you!
The only benefit that I see from going through your company is if our gas market crashes and skyrockets which has not happened in the last 12 months I didn't go farther back than that but i'm willing to bet for the last three years consumer energy has never been about $4.99 for a month 😬

Just energy green tier 5 plan - gas
Hi,
Two of the representative came at my doorstep and as I was not at Home (as they came during weekdays noon) they filled up the form by gathering my info from my wife by saying they are coming from PG&E. My wife inform them that she cannot give her consent without having a discussion with me, so asked them to come in the evening hours. When I came back from office she told me about the incident.
After sometimes the Just Energy representatives came to my place and showed me the details in their tab but I informed them that I don't want to have their service and want my details to be removed from their system, which they assured me that they will start the service and I will be getting the confirmation from them within a week. BUT from the next months onwards I can see their service activated on my account and I am getting charged by Just Energy now.
I called up the customer care as well on [protected] as soon as I got your's confirmation emails ( during June or July 2017) and informed that I didn't approved the services and was assured that it will be disconnected but nothing happened.
I didn't opted for the service, even though the service was activated. I DON'T WANT YOUR SERVICE...REMOVE IT NOW!
Misleading promises
Me being on a very fixed income, I looking for ways to save. When they came to my door, I explained to the person as well as the lady on the phone that I cannot afford my bill to go up not one bit...well it did. I called PG & E to let them know that I will be canceling the "just energy service" and please note it so just in case "je" tries to bill me extra. Well they did. I am now very behind on my electric payments. I'm so worried that my electric will be turned off cuz two of us use cpap machines.
Billing
I cancelled my account in march of 2015. I requested that i not pay for my last month since i was not living in the house anymore. I have the emails where they stated the amounts would be removed in 2 billing periods. I kept sending emails requesting the status of my account and was ignored so i figured it was dealt with. Only to receive a letter from a collections company stating i owe $250. I am beyond aggrivated and am considering legal action since that is ruining my credit score that im working hard to rebuild. I suggest you help me with this right away before you ruin my credit score completely.

We have Nipsco, and for months our bill has been sky high and we had no idea why, we don't use much energy a month. I finally started to dig into it and I noticed that there was a portion for Just Energy, my boyfriend was very clear he never signed up for them...he just had Nipsco. They stated that in 09 someone came to the house and an agreement was signed, my boyfriend didn't live in that house at the time. Someone had forged his signature, we think from Just Energy, because he only uses a shortned version of his name and on the document it was the whole thing. We have an investigation opened with them, sent them a copy of his signature and haven't heard a word back from Just Energy, so I sent them another email about it, if I don't hear anything in a few days I'm calling them...I will hound them if I have to, this is not right and something we didn't sign up for.
Commercial accounts customer service representative
We came over to you months ago with many accounts. Christopher Curry was extremely persistence in reaching out to us in regards to our inquiries on switching from Texpo to you.
However, after the switch whenever there is a question it would take him over a week and sometimes he does not even respond to our emails.
I have an email I would like to attached to this complaint.
You will see that Christopher Curry was reached out to on Monday and today is the end of the day Wednesday with no response. Our question is simply general and nothing hard.
We are planning to switch all of the accounts if this continues.

Gas services for heat
I have been calling to cancel my service. Their prices are twice that of my local provider. I ended up with a large balloon payment. I am unable to reach anyone by phone. When I call the customer service number for my region at [protected] the prompts tell you to push 1 for English and then 1 again if I am calling from the phone number on my account. The call goes into dead space, no response, no music, nothing. I have called multiple times with the same result. I even tried calling the Pennsylvania customer service number [protected] with the same result.
I tried calling the new service line [protected] and when asked if you are a current customer the prompts take me back to the same dead end as above.
I cannot reenroll with my local provider until I cancel my service with Just Energy. Please help. Julie Lewis [protected]
Gas and hydro rebate they called my 89 year old mother and tried to gain access to her house and bills
Rahul from Just Energy called my Mom and tried to get her to allow access to the house, furnace room (to check the furnace) wanted to see her bills paid to Veridian and Enbridge. He claimed to be partnered with Enbridge and he was under the impression my Mother granted him an appointment and access to all these things. When he called to say he was on his way Monday/18th/July 18:15pm I answered the phone and told him he would not be coming over (he had the wrong address anyway) and he was not partnered with Enbridge and was not welcome.
Rahul was nervous about me asking him to spell his name, he would not give me his last name.
I have heard of these scams and it is a shame they can try to take advantage of elderly people... I'm glad I was here to intervene.
Can they be charged for using the Enbridge name?

They make it sound like they work lower income neighborhood because the are getting grants to bring cheaper energy to depressed areas when in fact they are more expensive. Last bill Consumers was At $3 per unit, Just Energy was $7. I called and complained and they said they would lower/lock the rate to $4.32. The bill I got yesterday now says $9.2. WTF!
