free trial scam
Was looking for Vet advice for a dog that was symptomatic. I found a link promising free answers from veterinarians and clicked on it. As it turned out, JustAnswer.com promised answers from a variety of professionals for any number of subjects. Upon further investigation and trying to submit my question for my "FREE" answer, I came upon a page where I was informed that a subscription was required, with a minimum subscription fee of $18 a month. However, they offered a 7 day "FREE" trial. I registered for the 7 day trial and got an answer to my question. However, before the 7 day "FREE" trial had expired, i was billed not once, but twice for the $18 monthly fee. I called their Customer Service and asked why they would charge me 2 monthly charges within the 7 day "FREE" trial period, to which the barely understandable gentleman had no answer. I asked them to cancel my subscription and refund both $18 charges and was assured that I would receive a full refund with an email confirmation within 2 hours. As of this writing, I've received no evidence that a refund has been made.

lie to me
Sent $20 to get some services from Just Answer Antiques but they keep ignoring my order and behave like they didn’t get the money. My bank statement shows that transaction was successful. What should I do in this situation? Thank you!
canon printer
I gave all my info on my problem with the printer. I agreed to give a credit card number. They said they would charge $5 then $23 when finished. When I put in my e-mail address, they declined me. They said the e-mail was wrong, but it is not. Now I have been charged $15 adn have no info and no number to call to talk with someone.

what happed here is the biggest breach of confidentiality I ever heard of
I have to say that I am shocked! What happed here is the biggest breach of confidentiality I ever heard of! Imagine this; serial killer is contacting justanswers.com. He is talking with lawyer. He is admitting all crimes and seeking help…and what lawyer from justanswers is doing? He is posting entire CONFIDENTIAL conversation on line and linking this to his name! For God sake! Are you people crazy? I am not serial killer but my confidential conversation with lawyer was posted on justanswers.com website for MONTHS. Anybody who typed my name in Google was able to see entire conversation!
When I made this discovery I used my camera and recorded this from different computers and browsers …
justanswer is not a private site, it says that in their terms of service. I made the mistake of using my wife's divirce lawyers name in my question (boy did she raise hell) but when i asked them to remove it, they did. I've learned not to include names and such in my questions...when i thought back on it, i realized how stupid I was...I use a encrypted name on JA and then use a real name in the question, how dumb of me, lol.
bear in mind the only person onformation that gets posted is the personal information you provide...if you leave names and such out of it, then there's no way anyone can know who u are.
Did you contact the state bar? I believe you can see on site where the attorney is licensed. His state bar would be interested in knowing this.
Wow, that is amazing.

The Fidelity Global Group Ltd - Defamatory Remarks
Fidelity Global Group has recently been subjected to negative publicity on the internet due to inaccurate, malicious, uneducated and misinformed opinions and queries and would like to correct the misconceptions brought about by these publications.
Derogatory inferences were also made in these publicised comments about the private matters of a member of our Senior Staff. The Fidelity Group is well aware of the detail of these matters, unlike those who chose to make innuendo without knowing the facts. The one matter is a professional one and the subject of longstanding litigation. It has no bearing on the work or performance required for Fidelity and there is nothing criminal involved. In addition he is not bankrupt.
Fidelity Global Group prides itself on its integrity and strictly conservative approach in its dealing with all applicants, Clients, agents and intermediaries. It appreciates that some prospective applicants may not be able to meet the stringent criteria required and this may cause some frustration and upset.
We are however, NOT a scam organisation but a longstanding, credible business with diverse business interests and strictly applied criteria to protect our business and our Clients.
Legal sites are often used as a weapon by malcontents in unjustified retaliation against private investment banks
Has any other Private Investment Bank or Funding Institution or individual within experienced such potentially unwarranted defamatory internet abuse?

I paid for this service using PayPal. A couple of weeks later PayPal contacted me and asked my to identify myself and asked if I was using a different computer. My PayPal account was restricted in the mean time. I identified myself and told them I had not changed computers and my account was restored. CONCLUSION: "Just Answer" has made and unauthorised 'assualt' on my PayPal account! I'm verry glad I did not use my banking account - and 3 cheers to PayPal's security system!

I have some old [protected]) Word for Windows files which I put passwords on. (I know the passwords). I now operate Windows 7, with Office 2010 and it will not recover these files. I asked how may I recover them. I was told to deposit $US30, which would be refunded in full if an answer was not forthcoming within one month. That was last January, 2011. Now it is April, 2011. I have had no answer to my problem and no refund has been offered. I fear I have been scammed.
Just answers have taken £42 from my LTSB Credit Card without my permission, Lloyds told me the number to phone, [protected] but every day the line is BUSY . I WANT MY ACCOUNT RE-EMBURSED IMMEDIATELY.
I have been charged twice for $18 each time and do not know why. Who is charging me? I have tried 4 times to reach to reach them by phone but always get a busy signal. I want these charges removed.
To whom it may concern
The claims made from Intersek on this site are without any legal merit or subjective facts to support the same. They are in fact no more than ambiguous claims by a vindictive former client.
Our institution agreed to enter into agreement with Intersek and by doing so the requirements of international banking regulations required our legal staff to proceed with a Legal Forensic Review of the project with their managers. The client agreed to all the conditions regarding their obligations to enforce their agreement. The same client after given a lenient time in order as a show our good faith and patience on our behalf were unable to qualify for those obligations. Therefor no requests for funds arose to enforce their contract.
We again irrevocably disavow these defamatory statements made by Intersek against our institution and staff and are willing to defend our position.

l beg to differ. l was introduced to Fidelity for a facility of 7 million USD.l was asked to pay 43, 500 USD which l was told the money would be paid into an Escrow and by their defination it would not be touch and it would be refunded whether the loan is granted or not, l was told its meant to prevent scam groups from fooling them and once they know your project is real, they would refund it.
l paid and also provide Air Tickets accommodation, food and transport including taking them to the famous slave castle in Cape Coast in Ghana. After taking a look at our project and meeting every other person involved and making all comments Mr Conlon and Miss Robson told me they were over satisfied.Mr Conlon told me if he were my father, he would have been very proud of me.On their arrival back home they sent a letter of intent in which everything we agreed on was changed.when l contacted them they cliam their views were not binding on Fidelity.they started asking constantly for us to pay for 1 million USD into an ESCROW account.we were alerted by an esperience finance person in Ghana who got into contact with them when my partner mentioned it to him.he later called us that they are a scam group.l wrote to them asking for a visit to the U.K.This got them angry and Richard Prior wrote back that my file has been closed. After speaking to Lynn Robson, they wrote back that my file would be opened on condition that l would not visit the U.K .After accepting it, they ask me to provide insurance Guarantee for 1l beg to differ.l and my company was introduced to Fidelity as been able to provide Funding for a project for which we need about 7 million USD.My project proposal was received by Yahaya Abubakari and forwarded to Lynn Robson to be forwarded to Benjamin Conlon. They reques for a conference call on skype on which Mr Conlon confirm there interest in funding our project. We were told to pay 43, 500 USD into an Escrow account with the promise that no one can touch it.we were also told that this money would be refunded whether we are granted the facility or not.we went ahead to pay this money in addition to providing Air tickets for both Mr Benjamin VR Conlon and Lynn Robson from the U.K and Durban in South Africa. They visited Ghana and toured our projects and were very satisfied .l remember Mr Conlon told me at the airport that if he were my father he would have being very proud of me.
When they got home every thing they said when they were in Ghana, they have disassociated themselves from it claiming it was not binding on Fidelity. The sent a letter of Intent in which they were expecting us to pay over 1 million USD again into an Escrow . We also read on the internet after a senior financial person in Ghana alerted us that its a scam..l wrote to them when they requested for 3000 British Pounds as a per diem for Mr Conlon only to come and read and explaIn the term sheet to us.l wrote back asking that l visit their office i0, 000, 000 USD without a term sheet. They later wrote to bring this whole thing to a close informing me l have lost my money. In the heat of the events l told them about payment l am expecting in November from the Government of my country for some works done.Early November they came back to me asking how much l was expecting as payment from government?.l played along knowing their intentions as they cliam they now want to help me in their private capacities and Mr Conlon and Miss Robson.l recently inform them l do not need their help. This is a sad case of a young African man who through difficult times would be made to part with over 50, 000 USD for a loan that does not exist.. l plan l would use my time for the world to know my ordel so that young Bussiness executives would learn from my experience.l have all conversations recorded both video and audio.l am attaching a picture that shows Mr Conlon, myself, Yahaya, my partner and Lynn Robson on their visit to Ghana. in the picture is Mr Conlon on the left, myself, Yahaya Abukari, my partner and Lynn Robson
discontinue charges
Please kindly direct me to the correct department in order to de-register from this site and to discontinue the $29.00 being debited to my account monthly. I was not aware that this has been happening for months through my bank debit card.

car expert warning
Just note to say that "markthebooler" of the car section is nothing but a fake waste of space if you get a responce from him don't pay you'll thank me for it
Ive never used justanswer before so decided to give it a go i asked a question in relation to a fault i had with my car! at first his responces where not of what you would expect from an expert in that field i did expect a more detailed responce seeing as he claimed to have 30yrs experiance! something i feel is not really the case with this guy I got really fed up to the back teeth as the answers sent to me where absolute rubbish and whats more theres no way hes get my money for these answers im not that stupid! i decided i could not take it any longer and made a phone call to a local auto shop and could not believe it when he told me down the phone exactly what the problem was and whats more is a very common fault im led to understand which the guy on the phone did say that anyone with 30yrs plus experiance working on these cars would of known about the fault straight away Ten minutes later i was up and running again. the guy on the phone did tell me though through conversation that hes had a similar cases from that site in regards to an expert named "phil or philip harrison?" and some silly name called DL250567? i did a wee bit of digging and googled it and low and behold same type of answers and the way they are givin over so its got to be the same bloody guy with about three aliases or what ever but whats more some images with a mobile number leads to a tools sales link please don't tell me Justanswer owners your actually having a run of the mill tool salesman answering car questions or the one i posted recently on there cause if thats the case then you really need to step up and investigate this ### to be honest as this is clearly false advertising as you state that all experts are verified mechanics or techs actually working in the trade..sorry rant over

scam
Asked this company a question re: boat engine repair. "Expert" asked me a few questions and then went silent. I was charged $28 on my credit card in spite of never receiving an answer and never authorizing payment.
I was searching for Canon printer technical help, and JustAnswer.com kept popping up as though it was a legitimate Canon service. After 4-5 attempts, I thought it was a Canon service, but now I know otherwise. I spent 2 frustrating days trying to get a solution to technical problem, and never did get the problem solved. In fact, it made the problem worse. And I lost $21 in the process.
We needed emergency vet 'counseling' - I sought on-line assistance, and found 'justanswer.com'. I was hesitant at first when the site required a monetary 'deposit'. I posted my question, and 3 hours later had not received ANY kind of reply. (I expected an almost immediate response, as it claimed to have 4 veterinarians 'on-line' when I posted my question.) The animal in question died. (it was an egg-bound chicken - had it been a domestic pet I would have sought a REAL veterinarian!)
I edited my post to indicate I no longer needed an answer, the animal died, and re-submitted my post. I STILL have not received a reply. After initiating a PayPal dispute, I did get a response that a portion of my money was going to be refunded.
I CERTAINLY DO NOT recommend this site. They are NOT prompt (or even timely) in responding. I will NOT seek advice/answers from justanswer.com again!
I contacted Just Answer.com to ask a medical question.I asked my question and paid $15 via Pay Pal, I was not only ask my telephone number AND my cell phone provider but also my email address.I was told in my "message" it would take "7 minutes until an "expert" answered my question and to "not leave the website page, we will notify you if an "expert" needs more time" Unfortunately "no expert was available" and I was left sitting in front of my computer screen for AN HOUR! When no email from an "expert" arrived I clicked the website off and went to paypal and checked my account low and behold the "good faith deposit" that was suppose to be PENDING was TAKEN OUT! So then and there I went to the resolution center to file a complaint. And then I see a message in a box asking me if I was having problems that I could contact "CUSTOMER SERVICE" 24/7.So I indeed contacted them and explained my situation, the man named "dave" did NOT speak English well (but of course) AND he was RUDE.I explained to him I did not pay to have someone blow me off and make me wait an hour, that I am a small business owner and I KNOW how pay pal works and something that is "completed" CANNOT be in a "PENDING" Status.. This really "confused" him and he tried to run around with me until I flat out called him a liar and DEMANDED my money IMMEDIATELY! He continued to try to "satisfy" me and tell me an "expert" would soon answer my question! lol I stayed on the phone with this man for 10 minutes going back and forth with him that "I am not satisfied and I have not received an answer" and that my question was a medical one and I am going to the dr in the morning anyway! I cannot WAIT 24 HOURS! (As this he said was their "policy") WHERE IS THIS LOCATED ON THE SITE!? NOWHERE! lol
He then proceeded to tell me "I will refund your money but it can take 3-5 Business Days" I told him I think not and that because I paid with PayPal and they took it out immediately they would PUT IT BACK RIGHT NOW! He stuttered a bit and when I told him I would turn them into The BBB AND PayPal his attitude shifted and he was VERY nice.. I requested a Confirmation Number and "Regretfully they do not have confirmation numbers but I could have his name and Employaa Number" Ugh, who doesn't use confirmation numbers? 0_o So I told him if I did not recieve my money in 15 minutes or less not only would I turn them into the BBB and PayPal but I would leave feedback ALL OVER THE WEB! So I bid him good day and hung up on Him.. Guess what? I GOT MY REFUND IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. IT CAN BE DONE!
If they scam you, CALL THIS NUMBER IT IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IT ANYWHERE ON THE WEB!

They tell you that you have a 21 day trial but they charge for the first question. They do not make that clear. I will never use again. My question was about gps batteries and the expert told me that the battery was dead. I needed to know where to get a new one. They charged me for that useless information.
What? did you completely ignore the disclamer in the terms of service stating there was no confidentiality? The person you spoke with was likely not an attorney, but a paralegal. But as to your complaint, you have nothing to ### about. You should have read their terms of service. It explains all that.
Ridiculous Complaint...
You can get a "complete Refund" with a simple E-Mail or using the "Help" Section on the Site
What's more, your Credit Card Company will help with the Complaint
Not to mention "no one" MADE you complete the Transaction
Try maintaining your sanity & take care of your Personal Finances
My experience is that they didn't answer my question completely, but I eventually paid realizing I needed to find a new expert and could sign up for the unlimited questions plan that they advertised. On the very first question I had (which by the way was the same question initially asked but further refined to try and get just my question answered) I get a response saying that my price offered is too low. So, even though I'm paying for unliminted questions, they are trying to shake me down for more money immediately.

In case you are interested you'll be happy to know googling [as with Dell or HP or IBM or Bigpond or Apple Support (of those I
checked)] does not throw up an ad for Justanswers, whereas googling Toshiba or Acer or Microsoft or Gmail or Hotmail Support does. I suggested to Microsoft that they sue them for using a copyright/trademark name; Toshiba said that they could do nothing about the Justanswer website as it was in the public domain.
Dear cathie59,
I want you to know how sorry I am to hear about your chicken. I'm Nick and I work for JA. I know how devastating the loss of an animal can be, and though this was not a "domestic pet" as you had stated, it is no less important. Please know we are all truly sorry about what happened.
Though I am happy to hear you have received a full refund, I am not satisfied knowing you did not receive an answer. I have brought this to the attention of our team here at JA and I can tell you we work very hard to make sure all of our customers receive a fast answer.
I would also like to share some information for others who may view this thread regarding JA's policy about emergency situations. Though we try our best to help everyone who comes to our website, the site is not the appropriate venue to deal with emergency situations.
If there is anything I can do please don't hesitate to send me a message. I'm here to help.
Best,
Nick

business model
I was looking for a medical diagoses when I came across JustAnswer.com. It seemed too good to be true, so I was very skeptical. On the first page I saw, there was plenty of space to ask questions and describe symptoms, but no mention of a fee for the service. I expected there would eventually be a fee, so I wrote down and submitted my symptoms.
On the next page, I was informed that there was a fee of $59 which was contingent on my "satisfaction" with the answer. That still didn't describe the conditions of the transaction to my satisfaction, but I supposed that $59 was reasonable, if I got a valid diagnosis. On the next page I was asked for my credit card details, as there would be a $1 "good faith" charge instantly, and that would be followed by a $58 charge when the expert provided my answer. That doesn't quite sound like my satisfaction is required for the transaction. That's when I googled "review of justanswer.com" and came here. After a little reading I aborted my interaction with JustAnswer.com. I have no intention of risking my money on what seems to be an unscrupulous business model. If they are running a legitimate enterprise, they should be up front with their fees and provide more concrete reasons to trust them, besides vague claims that there are 'Experts' there.
I want to thank the proprietors for making this website available. And thanks to the people who discussed their disappointing experiences. I'll go waste my money on a physician at a brick & mortar office instead.

expert advice
I had been searching several websites trying to get information on a problem I was having with my car. I found JustAnswer.com; the way I understood it they would charge me $18 and I had a period of time to ask questions till I got an answer that was good. When I sent my question I quickly received an answer from there so called expert. But his answer was things I had already found on other websites; the difference though is that they did not charge me anything. But what really ticked me off is they had a text box to write what I had already done to fix the problem. Guess what, that was one of the things he said to fix. Which showed me that he did even bother to read my problem. When I did not respond to his first email he started sending more emails telling me that I needed to accept his answer because that is how they get paid. I finally figured lesson learned. Accept his useless answer take the hit for the $18 and make sure I never go back to that website. Apparently $18 for useless advice isn’t enough for them. Today I found out they have already charged a second $18 to my bank account. That’s not even a week later. A word of advice, do not go anywhere near this website. They are con artist. I wish I had checked them out before using their so called service.

Bought a Graphics Card from Best Buy to run dual monitors on the computer. For technical problems it said to go to www.pny.com which directed me to Just Answer.com which was a big mistake and is a scam. With a little persistance they solved the problem but Just Answer signed me up for a yearly subscription of $28/mo which I never signed up for, I needed the one time help and that was it. It was 4 days later that they notified me that they were going to bill me monthly and I had 2 days to cancel. Now in the process of reporting them to the BBB. Credit Card Companies cannot cancel the subscription without a cancellation # from Just Answer. I do not recommend to anyone to use this website.
over billing
i paid for one answer and the company automatically adds me to their unlimited subscription plan without my authorization, and within two days I am charged twice Iin the amount of $39.99 for services not rendered. This stuff has got to stop. Where is the government when it comes to regulating and policing these unscrupulous companies hell bent on stealing your money and providing no phone information for which to contact to address the matter. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!

I asked a vet question on "Just Answer" and agreed to pay $15 from my debit card. However when my bank statement came in I was charged $53.50. They refunded $15, but they still owe me $38.50. I would never agree to $53.50, because I am disabled and I live on a very limited income.
Hi Mike,
It was good speaking with you today. Based on our conversation it sounds like our support team was able to resolve this issue for you. If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

Non delievery of services
I made a payment for UKL21:19 to receive an expert answer to a current medical problem. Upon trying to effect the transaction, the page displayed the information that the email address I used --MY email address - was registered to another user. Impossible!
I sent an email to JustAnswer asking them to help. That was over five days ago. No response. And my card company has authorised the payment although they tell me that JustAnswer has not picked it up.
What would you advise me to do now?
Many thanks!
unauthorized credit card charges!
Just beware - automatic billing without consent
Me and my husband would like to remind everyone out there, just beware of this company (Apparently an american company). We only used the service once which at that time was under a free trial though we finally paid for a one off fee for the consultation. (This was back in july last year 2011). Just recently, it came to our attention that our credit card has been debited (Without our authorization) for more than $100 each month since last year up till this month. We were totally upset and surprised that this company, without our consent and authorization, charge subscription fees (Which we never subscribed for!) onto our credit card! Even though now they are in the process of getting us our refund back, think twice before giving your credit card information to any companies overseas (Outside australia).

Same thing happened to me. They are not returning any emails with an explanation why they took the money from my account. Service was unsatisfactory firat time round and now this.
We have also had the same thing happen! Only used them once (last year) and they had been taking unauthorized payments of around $85 out for the last 6 months. Our only authorized consult was in April last year.

unethical behavior
I have perused the just answer site several times. I was horrified to see many, many, many responses by one so-called expert — - kate mccoy — - who constantly intervenes in this particular customer's therapy sessions. I understand that it is the customer who keeps asking kate about her sessions but then kate constantly answers instead of being professional and telling the customer — - look by you keeping on asking me questions you are splitting things and you will never work things out in your therapy. She should have told the customer that she should be bringing all these matters up with her therapist. If she feels that her therapist can't handle things then she should refer the customer to a new therapist, not constantly meddle in the customer's therapy. Of course, just answer doesn't flag this as unethical and non-professional because, of course, when the customer pays kate mccoy, then just answer gets half the fee. If I knew the state that kate mccoy practices in I would report her to her state board for unethical conduct. Be that as it may, just answer should not accept ms. Mccoy's non-professional behavior and should ban her from the site.
credit card charges
Last month I had initiated an information request regarding a medical condition. After being frustrated by a faulty internet system by which I attempted to send them photos of my skin condition, I quit their services and asked that no charges be made. I was informed the initial charges would be canceled and that I would have a period of time to ask any other medical questions I might have without a cost. I have since that time been sent a couple emails informing that my account was still active should I wish to ask any questions. I dismissed the emails as junk mail and haven't persued any further contact with this website. Today upon opening my credit card statement from my bank here in Austria, I see there are 2 charges made by Just Answer Doctors each for 35€. I will have my bank block future payments to this company, and will seek restitution for the false charges. Having just now attempted a google search for the website, the website doesn't appear to be on line anymore, or has been removed from the address' links in google.
justanswer.com
I looked on line to see if we could get some info on an antique piece of furniture we had been given. I found a site that declared they had experts waiting to instantly answer my questions. I entered in my question and then was asked for $20 on my VISA in order to get the answer, if I was not satisfied then my card would not be charged. I did that. I then waited to hear. Today (1 day after the quesion was asked) I received an email that my answer was ready. When I tried to access it I got the following message "Server Error-404-File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavaliable." I tried every other link on the email to try to figure out what was going on. I am completely unable to get any kind of response from this company. Susan Grazier

I signed up for the seven day free trial and asked my question on June 28. I also canceled my trial period on that same day I didn’t notice that they took out $46. It said for a membership fee of which I did not sign up for I didn’t received an email saying since I was a previous member that I was charged the $46 membership fee. I last use this service years ago I was under the impression because it said a free trial that that’s what I would get, their actual advertisement is BS. I don’t even think it was a real lawyer that I spoke with let alone the $46 membership fee which I would never do. How do we get this feedback and how do we stop just answer from being falsely advertised, and just downright grimy can someone help me with this?
I used this service to ask a question and paid an amount which I understood was a one off payment but have had £45 per month going out of my bank totalling to £240 I don't know how to stop this and am getting very concerned.
I agree. the experts are often fake and use fake pictures against their own TOS.
