Scam
I am reaching out today because I am extremely dissatisfied with the service you have provided. In the month of April I had utilized your medical advice as they were advertised to cost $2. Upon receiving some menial help from a supposedly qualified doctor, I was billed $66. Although grossly dissatisfied, I took the hit and neglected what was already a great fraud. I have not agreed to that amount, I did not register to an account on your website so do not have a membership, and certainly did not receive any terms and conditions through text/ mail or call any day, to confirm that I would pay such an amount. The only act that I posed was to provide my card information and phone number. Today, I was just billed another $66 and yet it has been roughly a month since I have used your services and I never reached out again to receive advice. Upon research on other customers' experiences on the internet, I realized that this fraud was made possible by the exploitation of desperate people looking for help online. Having realized you use intentional misrepresentation to lure customers such as myself, I am now writing to demand a full refund for the money that I was extorted by your business.
Desired outcome: Full refund of CA$130

Monthly membership to just answer
On 28/05/23 I asked a question how to cancel My Heritage Subscription. I was asking this question on behalf of my 90-year-old brother, who cannot afford the Subscription. I was told I had to pay and clicked on the NIS 4 (Israeli Currency) link, which took me to a screen to insert my Credit Card Number, phone number and email address. I did not see any notification that I was signing up for a monthly membership. I submitted the form and the "Expert" sent me a list of phone numbers of My Heritage within a minute. I checked by Credit Card statement and was amazed to see that I had been debited NIS 178. I wrote to Customer Support explaining that there was a Billing Mistake. I received a letter telling me that I could cancel the monthly membership fee going forward, but I had to pay the for the current month. I am terribly upset about this experience and did not sleep at all last night. Just Answer is running a scam and I was tricked into paying for a monthly membership which I did not sign up for. On there form for the Credit Card Details a notification in bold red in 20-point letters should point out the monthly payment and the customer must approve in a checkbox that he approves. Your Company is absolutely disgusting. How can you build a strong Brand Image' operating like you do? Please refund my money that has been "taken" illegally.

Repair tv service online
It is today 05/28/2023 at atout 9:00pm.
I just discussed with a technician, he understood my issue and sent me to pay a fee before starting helping me with my TV issue. The fee suppose to be $1 and then when I entered my credit card the charge was $46! I declined and now my credit card was blocked by Bank of America and this is very annoying, It is very unprofessional. I tried 10 times to get back to them and they do not care, they just want to charge you a fee that was not the fee they promised at the start up: introductory fee $1 and $46 after if we accept to continue with a monthly fee. They apply the $46 right the way! You cannot talk or chat with them anymore unless they screw you for $46, I went to customer service/contact us to chat and explain my issue, the customer service after I typed my question said this: "this a pay per question chat, do you want to continue, yes or no, if you type yes they ask you again your credit card! If you type no, you get kicked out! IF THIS IS MOT A SCAMMING PLATFORM THEN TELL ME … WHAT IS IT? Be sure that you walk out immediately from those scammers who are claiming being a 5 stars website, it’s only a very weird con artiste type of platform.
Desired outcome: They need to return my money, and there is no phone number, only chatting that ask again money, it’s a real vicious cercle.
It's amazing how the snake bites its own tail in this discussion. It's absurd, how could I reach out to you when I clearly said to you that I have no way to reach you on your site since you do not release your customer service phone number when I reach someone on CS by chat, it asks me for more money. I spent about another 30 minutes going through your terms and conditions to find a CS phone number which I found only under the cancellation paragraph. This hidden number somewhere lost in multiple paragraphs is [protected], and I want everybody in this same situation to know about it because there is NO reason why you don't display this important number if it is for some dark reasons.
I called there and a lady said that the fee of $46 was never charged. I went into my banking account again and like last time, I am seeing $46 charged to my banking account under the term "processing". Either way, it will not show afterward or it will be charged anyways.
The final point of all this is that even if I am not charged at the end, or I am charged anyways, it shows that the first real impression, is that we are charged $46 in our account in a processing manner. It is very uncomfortable to feel and stay in an expectative feeling. We try to get an answer and there is no way to reach you with a displayed customer phone number unless we go through all those terms and conditions pages. It is counter-productive to do that way and I urge you to display this [protected] number right away in the front of your introductory $1 promotion like this people can reach immediately your customer service by dialing the billing department. I will call back this department if I see that you actually charged me the $46 despite the fact that the CS lady said that I was not charged and I will write my concern in this site again. Thx.

Membership Fee
Joined 5/28 and cancelled that same day. When I signed up, it was said that it was a $5 posting fee and $46 once membership is renewed in a month. I got charged for both right away, when I asked customer service about this, they blamed me for not reading it right and that a free trial does not exist.
Not only is their signing up process misleading, their customer service absolutely doesn’t help whatsoever.
Definitely a scam.
Desired outcome: A refund

Subscription
I wanted to ask 1 question for a legal matter and they didn't really give a response "As they are not lawyers" I paid the membership fee and I had to sign for a month.
I've then been charged for 6 x months for a sevice I never wanted or had any intention of using.
I've tried numerous times to contact them and they just cut off the chat.
I feel this service is deceptive and a scam that needs to be shut down.
Desired outcome: I'm seeking a refund for all but the first month.

The Experts are fake like wikipedia
I asked for a cardiologist and the person who answered had broken English even in typing, obviously did not carefully read my question as he proceeded to ask me questions to which the answers were in the question I wrote. Then he recommended I talk to a cardiologist, so I clicked on his profile and he is only a MD, not a cardiologist and his name was supposedly Dr. Care. So, I'm paying to have people who are not experts in the field I asked for tell me absolutely nothing.
Scam.
Desired outcome: I just want to warn people, let just answer know about their fake expert, ut you can't complain to them. You get a bot that asks for more money.

AskAntiqueExpert -11 May 2023
I have received a letter from my bank with a Just Answer report that I have constituted Friendly Fraud. I resent this description vigourously, especially from a company who is by all accounts underhand with their method of signing up unsuspecting customers.
Like other complaints Just Answer receives, study receive a £1 payment which by all accounts gives you a free trial, you then type in your question. As soon as you do this,I have now learned, they take a full payment and sign you up for a monthly direct debit,in my case of £24,none of which I authorised. At this point Just Answer request a description of the information to give to the Expert. I then received the experts text ,which showed a figure of £29 for the answer. I immediately texted him that I could not afford that. He replied that he didn't have anything to do with the fee,but it was very obvious that I said I could not afford his information, the thread of texts I have kept from him states "Hello,Ok,no problem at all. Kindest Regards, ...
The Expert advised me to call the Just Answer Customer Support Team. The call was answered by someone who was obviously in another country, the reception was so bad,I could hardly make out what she was saying and I had no option but to terminate the call as it was pretty obvious she couldn't hear me either.
However, later on in the afternoon ,regardless of our texts the Expert still went ahead and answered My questions, partly. No reference to the question regarding a Hallmark on silver that I own and how to get rid of built up silver polish, advising me to use Silver polish!.
I have an appointment at the bank tomorrow and will be taking the text thread of the conversation I had with the Expert. The Expert gave me his name, which shows clearly on his texts to me,but for protection reasons I have not named him in the complaint.
Desired outcome: Acknowledgment that I committed no Friendly Fraud. An end to this whole debacle,by removing the claim for £24

Just Answer fee
19 May 2023
My desktop would not open and in searching on my phone for answers I came across this site which looked as it it cost $2 to ask a question. On that page it did not mention the $70 which is why I call it a scam.
I paid the $2 by visa and then got a text asking me to text HELP or STOP. I couldn't work out where to go from there so texted STOP.
I then solved the computer problem with the help of a family member and so didn't even need to use the service. Happy to pay the $2 but not the $70.
I am very disappointed that even though I mentioned I was older generation and had difficulty with computers that they have so far refused to refund the $70 but I am going to keep on asking and copy this review to other sites to make others aware of this crafty way of making money out of vulnerable people.
Desired outcome: Refund of the $70
Thank you for promptly sorting out this issue and arrnging for a refund.
JustAnswer
Company is a fraud. Never once used their service yet somehow got charged $40 the last two months each. Tried to cancel the "subscription" and the chatbot on their website just took me to the sign up screen. It's a scam plain and simple. The only thing I can think of to get my money back is to dispute the charges with my bank and deactivate the credit card.
Desired outcome: I want my money back.

Unaware of membership and charges
August 2022 I used JustAnswer services to discuss one single issue, paid 5 euros and that was that. Today I find out they've been charging me 49 euros per month for a membership I didn't sign up for. Last email I got from JustAnswer is from September 1st 2022, never have I been informed of being in a membership nor the recurring charges on our family credit card. I have not logged in nor used these services since August 2022. Contacted customer service and they only refunded me 3 months, I was charged with 10 months of a subscription trap, I never agreed to this. Please refund.
Desired outcome: Please refund.
Thank you so much for solving this issue. I will definitely be willing to use these services again if needed.
Unauthorized credit charge
I contacted Comcast to cancel my service and was told to contact JustAnswer. Even though that was not the right direction to take I stupidly gave them my credit card before I figured out what happened. I contacted JustAnswer and they refunded my money. This happened in Feb/March 2023. Just recently, they charged me again in April. I complained to them about it. The response I received from them was that it resolved in March. I went back to them and told them I was referring to the April 1st charge, not February. Again they responded saying the membership was cancelled and the refund resolved in March but nothing about the April charge.
Desired outcome: Refund the $55.00 that is owed me to and to turn of the auto-bill.

I paid for a one time 2 dollar fees to get some help to repair a dishwasher in November and the service forced me to get a membership (40$/month so 240 in total) until I realized yesterday on my bank account those pqyments. I don't remember ever accepting this in any way.
The membership information was hidden in an email with the password, as a dark pattern since, as a user, you only focus on your password information to get the help you need.
I have never had any email saying that my membership was being paid each month and I never pre-approved those payments.
My fault I didn't see those payments on my bank account before but gosh, what a fraud for a simple back and forth messages about a dishwasher...
Desired outcome: Reimbursement

Unauthorized charges for unauthorized "membership" in this on line organization
Went on the internet on 2/27/23 to get an answer to a veterinary question. The site looked like a single payment of $5 for a response. They wrongfully took my credit card information and issued unauthorized "membership" charges. I was charged a $35 membership fee for 3 months ($105) that I didn't notice until I checked my credit card used today.
Have filed a complaint with BBB today, May 2, 2023 seeking a refund of the unauthorized charges.
Desired outcome: refund

Trial Membership BS
This just happened to me today. They said $1 trial so I signed up to find they immediately charged me $34. Argued with the rep who said "we don't give trials"...ummmm I have the email from you w/the membership details (below). I forwarded to their email but we'll see. So pissed - what a scam marketing move!
Membership details:
You were charged the $1 trial price, which allows you to ask unlimited questions through 06/01/2023. Your order ID is ###, and you will be charged the $34 monthly membership fee starting 06/02/2023 unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime via the membership panel in the “My Account page” to avoid future charges. No refunds unless required by law.
Desired outcome: I want to be refunded my $33 (charged $34 but I agreed to the $1 trial membership)
Another note - this IS NOT a complaint against the mechanic that answered but the admin handling memberships!
Just to note - I immediately cancelled after seeing I was charged the wrong amount. I do have the cancellation email as well as the email stating I was to be charged only $1.

Just Answers Membership
Yesterday I joined Just Answers for their fully refundable $2 fee only to be charged $105 as well as the $2 fee that I agreed to. There were no obvious Terms & Conditions explaining this at all. And to add insult to injury the $105 turned out to be a Monthly fee.
I cancelled my membership immediately and went about trying to obtain a refund which not unexpectly they refused.
These people simply stole my money under false pretences.
Desired outcome: A refund

Beware of this company. The $5 to “just” try the service is a scam, I noticed a $59 charge the same time as the $5 trial. I called customer service to find out why and was told by an obviously out sourced individual who sounded like a programmed robot! I used them for 1 question they would not refund the $59 even though I called within 20 mins of signing up. “It’s in the terms and conditions” is all they kept saying
Lesson learned stay away from these crooks

Forced into a membership with an unauthorized charge
I asked about a question online and agreed to pay $5 to have it answered. Afterwards I check my bank account to find out I’m apparently also paying $69 for a membership that I didn’t even want nor sign up for. All of a sudden I have a membership account that’ll charge my card every month for $69. I would really like a refund for the $69 lost as I did not want a membership and would prefer to not be forced into one!
Desired outcome: Refund of $69 for unauthorized charge

17th April I enquired about some antiques and was told my question would cost $2 which I thought was reasonable. That is all that is said; 'Your question will cost $2' — they lie and mislead you into thinking that is the full and only cost. I was immediately directed to the payment page where all further correspondence was ceased. I was then charged $2 and then another $92 monthly fee which I was never told about. Totally fraudulent.
When I followed up the customer care consultant referred to the payment page that some small text says you're signing up a reoccurring membership. That is how it is justified. When I enquired about how the sales consultants do not mention this membership and deliberately mislead you about the costs, my chat session was ended. Total scammers.
Desired outcome: Refund of the monthly fee I was not told about.

Complaint
I had a potential emergency with my baby girl pet and looked online for the problem since it was a Sunday when my vet was closed. On one of the websites a bot pounced on me. I didn't know it was a bot and also didn't know it was a "service" called JustAnswer. It had a human name (Pearl Wilson), a human photo, and was styled "Veterinarian's Assistant". It told me it would connect me with a vet that would help (it never did) for $1.00 (fully refundable). I believed thus far that it was a real person and vet assistant and gave it my credit card info.
Then I received an email receipt saying I had two charges... one for $1.00 and another for $31.00 and that they were non-refundable. Around the same time, I got an alert that my question had an answer but I could not find it anywhere. So they never even delivered the product.
I disputed the charge with my credit card bank and entered a BBB complaint, where they finally admitted that Pearl was a bot after ignoring several questions from me about this.
Do your due diligence on this company and their practices.
