and cheat their customers
and cheat their customers. I went to Keith Hawthorne Ford to buy a car, and boy was it a mistake. The salesperson straight up lied to me about the condition of the vehicle. They said it was in great shape, but when I got it home, I noticed all sorts of problems. The brakes were squeaking, the engine was making weird noises, and there were even dents that they conveniently forgot to mention. It's like they just wanted to make a quick buck and didn't care about the customer at all.
Not only that, but their customer service is terrible. When I called to complain about the issues, they were rude and dismissive. They didn't want to take any responsibility for selling me a lemon. It's clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction.
I would strongly advise against buying a vehicle from Keith Hawthorne Ford. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. There are plenty of other dealerships that actually care about their customers and will provide honest and reliable service. Don't waste your time and money on these dishonest folks.
I bought a truck from them that I can't drive
I bought a truck from them that I can't drive. We're out of state and made sure we had the right paperwork to register it once we got home. Even though they had my trade in, my downpayment, and my approved finance with Ford Credit, they didn't trust me to carry the title to my insurance agent and local registry. They said they'd Fedex it to my agent. They never mailed it for whatever reason (can't say 'cause they've stopped takin' our calls) and I'm left with a truck that I can't register or insure just sittin' in my driveway. If ya want a Ford, go somewhere else. Please don't let these folks ruin your life too, no matter how nice and helpful they sound.
Be careful, they played a trick on me during negotiations
Be careful, they played a trick on me during negotiations. I argued about the value of my trade-in and the price of the car, and managed to get a reduced or free Gap policy. But guess what? They still charged me a whopping $1200 for it! Check the numbers before signing the final contract! I left two messages for the finance manager, but no call back. Also, watch out for their monthly payment strategy. They'll try to distract you with the monthly cost instead of the total price. These contracts have a lot of hidden charges that only serve to increase the overall cost and boost the dealer's profit. Fool me once, shame on me. Don't let it happen to you. Find a dealer with more honesty than these sneaky people.
Keith Hawthorne Ford of Belmont tried to sell me a 2021 Bronco Sport with an MSRP of $34K for $43K
Keith Hawthorne Ford of Belmont tried to sell me a 2021 Bronco Sport with an MSRP of $34K for $43K. They lied to me about the upcharge when I asked why the 2022 model was selling for $36K. They said it was a base model without additions, but that was a lie. I checked and found out that they sold me additional coverage totaling $6K. They assured me that any *** would honor it since I'm moving across the country. However, I later discovered that the coverage company is owned by Keith Hawthorne and no other *** dealership would honor it. They refused to give me back my vehicle even though I owned the title. This forced me to call the police. Thankfully, 20 minutes later, they returned my key to me. They also failed to return my custom fit front mats, which are worth over $200. To make matters worse, they turned back the mileage on my vehicle for unknown reasons. They are absolute crooks and as dishonest as they come. They are the epitome of "used car salesman." I am escalating this matter to the *** Odometer Investigations and bringing it to the attention of ***. I will also be emailing each of the board of directors with a detailed explanation of the events.

I put down 3250 dollars and after 4 days, I told them I wanted to try a different truck
I put down 3250 dollars and after 4 days, I told them I wanted to try a different truck. They said I had to complete the paperwork for the first truck before they could upgrade it. They lied. They only offered me 3250 dollars for the truck. When I told them I didn't like it and wanted to try another truck, they said I had to finish the paperwork for the first one and then upgrade or reposition. So, I completed the paperwork. But now, all they can offer me is a car. I told them I didn't want a car, but he said too bad.
Bad customer service
Bad customer service. They don't wanna negotiate "cool off period". I bought the car on 4/30. The problem came up on 5/1. Customer service was terrible. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. This sales guy, Mr. Jolly, kept pushing me to buy a car even though I told him multiple times that I wasn't ready for a big purchase. The dealership wouldn't let me have a "cool off period" or negotiate to return the car. I only had the car for less than a day. Now I gotta do a voluntary repossession 'cause they wouldn't work with me.
I bought a car from this dealership thinkin' they'd put in a tow package
I bought a car from this dealership thinkin' they'd put in a tow package. I got a receipt from the sales manager sayin' they would, but when I went to get it installed, they said it would just be the hitch. I called the dealership and talked to *** and he said he never said that, even though I had a receipt with his signature. I don't know what to do now 'cause he told me and my husband that we ain't allowed in his dealership no more 'cause I reminded him of this. He ain't honored it or said sorry. So now I got a receipt with his signature sayin' tow package, but all I got is an incomplete one.

I put down **** dollars on a *** Tahoe 2013 at Keith Hawthorne Ford of Belmont
I put down *** dollars on a *** Tahoe 2013 at Keith Hawthorne Ford of Belmont. They told me that I had to bring the vehicle back after making car insurance payments and on-time payments for the vehicle. *** and ***- sales manager, and *** the manager overall told me that I would get my full down payment back once I returned the truck. I did that, but I didn't get my full payment back. I've been calling them since March to find out when they'll give me the rest of my money. I've never been lied to or treated badly like this at Keith Hawthorne Ford. Once they have your money, your sales rep and finance manager won't respond to you anymore. I'm ready to go to court.
I bought a 2017 **** Fusion from Keith Hawthorne Ford Dealership in Belmont
I bought a 2017 *** Fusion from Keith Hawthorne Ford Dealership in Belmont. It had under *** miles and came with the dealership's lifetime powertrain warranty. I had to get my car towed from ***, *** to the dealership on 2/22/22 because of an engine problem. Specifically, one of the cylinders had low compression.
Before I had it towed, I called the dealership and the person at the front office of the service shop said it might take 4-6 weeks to fix my car. It's been 3 months now, and there has been no resolution. I've been calling them every week for updates, but there haven't been any. Today, on 5/25/22, I called again to ask for a timeline, but the person on the phone, ***, wouldn't give me one.
They haven't done anything to provide me with updates, offer a loaner car, or reimburse me for a rental car. My car is still covered by their 3rd party "First Automotive" warranty and the
I bought a new 2021 F150 **** Platinum truck from *** Hawthorne **** on October 16
I bought a new 2021 F150 *** Platinum truck from *** Hawthorne *** on October 16. 2 days later, the truck got picked up by the dealership for repairs 'cause they messed it up during cleanin'. They kept it for 2 weeks. On December 30, I went back to the dealership 'cause I had more problems. The big boss, ***, told me to make a list of all the problems and give it to him. He said he'd handle it himself. So, I made the list and gave it to him on the same day, December 30. Only the sales guy at *** Hawthorne has been gettin' back to me. The big boss hasn't reached out to me to give me updates on the repairs since I gave him the list on December 30. The sales guy can't speak for the big boss. I've left lots of messages for the big boss at *** Hawthorne *** and even sent him emails, askin' him to get in touch with me about my truck and when I can expect to get it back. The truck cost me $90,000.00 and had 13 miles on it when I bought it from *** Hawthorne. I've made payments for January and February, and now March is comin' up. I even paid $844.41 in property taxes for a truck I don't even have and don't know when I'll get it back. Till this day, I have no clue when I'll get my truck back or if it'll even be fixed. There's a third party involved 'cause of some fancy stuff on the truck. The fancy stuff was done for *** Hawthorne *** by *** from Georgia. The fancy stuff added about $20,000.00 to the price. I'm goin' crazy not knowin' what's goin' on or if they're workin' on my punch list or when I'll get my truck back.
On April 16, 2022, I went to KEITH HAWTHORNE FORD BELMONT to check out their car selection
On April 16, 2022, I went to KEITH HAWTHORNE FORD BELMONT to check out their car selection. I wasn't actually in the market for a new car, just wanted to see what they had. I spent about 5 hours there. Currently, I own a 2015 *** fusion and still owe around $12,000 on it. Before leaving, I let them run my credit, even though I made it clear multiple times that I didn't plan on making a purchase that day. However, one of the salesmen, ***, was quite pushy and kept trying to convince me to explore my options. I declined his offers at least 4 times, telling him I just wanted to go home and think about it. Then, he suggested looking into refinancing my car. I explained that I only owed $12,000 and wanted to lower my payments and pay it off faster. That's when he said, "What if I can get you a 6.9% interest rate and throw in some warranty since you only have gap coverage?" I replied, "As long as I don't have to pay more than what I'm paying now, we can discuss my options." So, *** walked away and I was directed to the finance manager, ***. When I entered his office, he informed me that we were trying to reduce my payments and add warranty. I reminded him that *** had promised me a warranty at no additional cost. *** agreed and proceeded to show me the different warranty coverage levels they offered. *** had recommended level two, but *** pressured me into getting level four. It was all very confusing. As a result, my new payment would be $369 with the level four coverage. My gap insurance, which used to be $1200, remained the same. However, now I owe the bank $23,211.72, even though I originally owed only $12,000 with a $380 payment. How is this legal? They practically doubled my car loan. I'm feeling emotional and mentally drained. *** hasn't returned my calls or emails for the past 5 days. He's not being helpful at all.
This business does a sneaky thing to get people to come in
This business does a sneaky thing to get people to come in. They lied about having the product I wanted and gave me a wrong quote for my trade-in. I found the Mustang Mach E on their website with the exact specifications I wanted. I called and spoke to Michael in the Internet department. He said they had it in stock. I gave him my trade-in information and sent photos to support it. After waiting, I got a call back to confirm the trade-in amount. They offered me 46-47k for my trade-in and said it was a low offer because they couldn't see it, but they would likely increase it once they saw it was in good condition. I asked Michael again to make sure the car was actually available for sale and not part of the Ford demo experience. He assured me it was sellable and even mentioned that they were able to sell their Broncos when other dealerships couldn't. I was happy with that, so I sent him my insurance card, title, two keys, and registration card. I asked him to prepare the car for me so that no one else would take it while I traveled for an hour to get there. Michael said he would do that. When I arrived at the dealership, I was handed off to a sales representative. He looked up my file and went to find a manager. After 10 minutes, a manager came and told me that Ford had issued a stop order on selling the car that day. They said they couldn't sell it for 4 months or 4,000 miles because of a bolt issue (which is actually because it's a demo). I called my local Ford and found out that the bolt issue just requires them to fix it before selling, not hold it for 4 months/4K miles like a demo. The manager apologized and offered to order me a new car or let a manager drive the car to increase the mileage, and then sell it to me at MSRP without markup once it reached 4k miles. This is really unethical. First, they baited and switched me. Second, dealer demos are always discounted. I asked the manager about the value of my trade-in to see if it was worth working out a deal. It took him two trips to the podium to get the answer, and he was busy with other customers who were apparently more important. Finally, he told me they would offer $45k for my trade-in. I questioned him about what Michael had said, but he had no response and just apologized again. I wasted over three hours between traveling and waiting in the showroom while other people were helped. I recommend staying away from this place!
Vehicle Purchase Agreement and Invoice was signed/authorized but not honored
Vehicle Purchase Agreement and Invoice was signed/authorized but not honored. I started working with the internet sales team to find vehicles for purchase. Keith Hawthorne Ford's Internet Sales Manager, *** C, and Internet Sales Specialist, Mary ***, sent me various vehicle options via email from 1/27 to 1/29. We agreed on a vehicle and I visited the dealership on 2/1 to discuss pricing. Cameron W, the Sales Representative, and I worked with their pricing team to reach an agreement. We all agreed on a final purchase price of $40,000 cash, which included all taxes, titles, registrations, and fees. This price was their "out the door" pricing. It was a cash sale.
However, when Cameron presented me with the agreement, it included a "rebate" of $1,250 that we had not discussed during our negotiations. I asked about the details of the rebate and was informed that I would only get the $1,250 off if I financed the first 3 payments through Ford. Financing was never mentioned before, and this was supposed to be a cash purchase. The inclusion of the rebate and the cash sale meant that the actual purchase price of the vehicle would be $41,250, not $40,000. I refused to agree to this condition as it contradicted our previous agreement. I declined to sign for the vehicle.
Cameron went back to their sales manager, and the rebate was removed, bringing the final cash purchase price back to $40,000, including all taxes, titles, fees, and registration in SC. I was given the "Vehicle Purchase Agreement and Invoice" with the "Authorized Signature" from Keith Hawthorne Ford of *** confirming the final cash purchase price of $40,000. I have included this document in my complaint. I was then instructed to provide insurance information and details for filling out the "Bill of Sale." I texted Cameron to inform him that I had the necessary information and asked where to send it via email.
However, Cameron then informed me that there might be a problem with the availability of the vehicle. It turned out that the vehicle was scheduled to be taken out of their sellable inventory for a transportation program. Cameron and his boss, Ben, worked to resolve this issue and "unlock" the vehicle. But then I was told that the previously agreed upon purchase price would no longer be honored. As of 2/2, Keith Hawthorne Ford refused to honor the $40,000 price. I spoke with Ben about this issue, and he admitted that it was his mistake but still refused to honor the price. He was extremely rude on the phone and showed no interest in finding a solution. His customer service skills were terrible.
I continued to communicate with Mary and Cameron, trying to resolve the situation. They informed me that since I had a signed document, the price should be honored. However, as of 2/4, the price has still not been honored.
