kenmore series 100 washer & dryer
Worst washer & dryer I have ever owned. The washer doesn't get cloths clean, barely agitates and doesn't fill with enough water even on deep cycle. The dryer doesn't even get cloths dry after 60 minutes. I have been so disappointed with these products. I will replace as soon as I can after buying these however I can't say I would ever buy a kenmore product again after this experience. I would not recommend these for anyone else.

I purchased a Kenmore refridgerator from Kmart 18 months ago.It broke already.the refridgerator stopped working, but the freezer does work but the freezer gets ice stuck in the output.it was making the most irritating loud noise then after 1 week of noises the fridge stop being cold.now we're using a ice chest.We live check to check and now we have to figure out how to buy another one.people have the same fridge for a long time, but not us we got a lemon.please help.

Why are they selling appliances that last 2 years, I'm pissed off and will never purchase any Kenmore appliances and will let everyone I know to not purchase any Kenmore appliances the products sucks and are lemons and Sears wants to make money with their high cost warranty because they know they products are defects, you never can depend on Sears without buying high cost warranty because of their lemons and should be out of business selling such products

kenmore elite duel fuel oven
the control board /clock panel when out on my Kenmore elite duel fuel oven/range and sears said had to have a tech.come to house to order part, when the tech. got here he looked at the back of stove and said yes the control board was burn out and said that he couldn't fix it because they no longer make the part and have no replacement or interchangeable parts to fix it, sorry but I am going to have to trash 4000.00 oven because they no longer have parts, and walked out! what the heck am I supposed to do now, have talked to three different companies for replacement part and sent part to see if could be fixed and its so burned that its not repairable. So now what, this is crazy the little oven works and so does the gas burners on the top and I can't afford to go out and replace the oven, can anybody help me find a replacement part or how to contact Kenmore to see if they have a solution, because i can think or find any . thanks for listening to me rant, but if you have a solution i would appreaseate it, Thanks Tenny V
induction stove w/true convection
On September 17, 2016, I was baking a batch of cookies in my Kenmore range/induction stove/convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. When I went to open the door to check the consistency, the oven door exploded, sending shards of glass everywhere in my kitchen/dining room. I have taken pictures of the aftermath, along with replacing the range that exploded. I have kept the Kenmore range for further investigation, possible resolution, and public warning.
washer and dryer totally unsatisfactory
Washer damages towels & washcloths. Dryer leaves no-iron garments having to be ironed. What has happened to Kenmore? I've used Kenmore appliances all my life (now 84). Don't know what to look for now. Bought from Sears in December, unable to shop for something better. Request refund or replacement with something reliable.

Kenmore sucks rusting after a year old
kenmore oven fries electronic control board
We own a Kenmore Elite Gas Range, model 790.[protected]. I believe this stove has a design flaw. At the back of the stove top, there is an oven vent that channels hot air from the oven up into the stove control panel area that is located at the back of the stove top. We had to replace the control board several years ago when the heat from this oven vent fried the control board electronics resulting in unusual behaviors, such as locking the door, sounding an alarm and turning off the oven, refusing to start the oven, etc. The same problem has again occurred, leaving me no other cost effective alternative but to shell out yet ANOTHER $185 for another control panel since our stove is not under warranty and since I cannot find any record of a class action lawsuit for this model.
Anybody else having this problem?
side by side refrigerator
We purchased a new Kenmore side by side refrigerator in 2009. It was replaced under warranty less than 2 years after purchase. Now, less than 5 years after replacement, it has failed again. The Sears repair guy said the coil was bad and it would be cheaper to buy a new refrigerator.
We have an old hotpoint we keep in the laundry as an extra. It rattles a bit and has to be defrosted twice a year but still works fine. I am 45 years old and remember this refrigerator from my childhood.
I find it difficult to believe that refrigeration is the only technology to have declined to the point of near uselessness while every thing else has improved over the last 40+ years. I feel it much more likely that Kenmore makes low quality products.
I will be purchasing a new refrigerator, I have no choice, but I assure you it absolutely will not be a kenmore.
repair service
We have a Kenmore range which almost went on fire. Turns out that it was the board that had gone bad and resulted in the plug attached to the machine melting . Called service, was told a repairman would be to my house in two weeks. Told them that was ridiculous because we can't cook for two weeks. That's a lot of eating out and ordering in $$$$$. Could of practically purchased a new range for this kind of money! Have a family of five. Finally the serviceman arrives to the house after the two weeks and after being there five minutes says he has to order the new board and would be back in another week! After I told him that was not acceptable he started to tell me that he shouldn't even have been there because it was after 3:00 P.M.. I told him that was CRAP because why would they give me a 3:00-6:00 P.M. Window for his arrival! He said that after 3 its overtime and they didn't want to pay for it. Every appliance in my house is from Sears which all have paid extended warranties, every appliance that my parents ever bought was from Sears! I had the same problem when my new washing machine broke, had to wait 3 weeks for service. I am breaking the tradition because after this fiasco I will never ever purchase another appliance or anything for that matter from Sears.

refuse to resolve an issue
Lower oven heating element melted in half burning thanksgiving dinner and my hand oven caught on fire and want even on and would not shut off almost catching my house on fire had to pull away from the wall and unplug it seats and kenmore and the manufacturer of the stove state there is no problem with it and there are no other complaints about this issue even thou they are fully aware of it and refuse to resolve it what do I do

Don’t deal with Kenmore A/C is horrible company and all their items aren’t durable at all. I have their air conditioner, but it broke after 2 months. I decided to contact the customer services and hoped that they would help me to change the air conditioner or provide any other help. But I made 6 phone calls and left them messages, but no one replied to them. It was the worst services and situation, which I have ever had before.
rust and peeling
Hello I have a Kenmore Elite Washer which is about 3 years old and has started to rust. It is in the area where the bleach is put in. It appears the bleach is corroding the paint. It seems to be due to a poor design of where/how the bleach is put in or the part has not effectively sealed.
I contacted Sears and they insisted I pay for this. I am disappointed as previously Sears always seemed to stand by their products.
My previous Kenmore washer and dryer was over 20 years old and never had a bit of rust on it.
I have the same problem. When the tech came out to fix the circuit board on my range that caught on fire after 30 days, he said he cant comment on the problem with the rust. Now the rust is working it's way below the bleach dispenser, I will NEVER buy Kenmore again! Now my Elite Frig is broke down. Luckily I have a frig in the garage, they wont show up for a week.
quality of product and customer service
I am extremely disappointed in the lack of concern, customer service, and quality of your product that I feel the need to send this letter. I purchased 4 major appliances approximately 11 months ago. I wanted to purchase a "good" brand and something reliable that if by chance I needed service I could call sears and have it serviced quickly and efficiently. Well that was my first mistake. I have had a service repair person to my house 3 times since then. Most recently it was my refrig - it stopped working over a week ago. I was pretty much repramanded that I did not get the extended warrenty so I "had to deal with the manufacture warrenty". They could not fix it, said the mother board was blown and that they have never seen that in the past, they would order a new one but was not sure that would fix the problem or not. So in the meantime I am still without a frige, loosing my food daily because the coolers we are using does not keep my food cold enough at all times. I called Sears to find out what else I could do and was offered nothing. I asked to speak to the service manager of the appliance department and he could not offer me anything either. The only thing he said he could do was have the store manager call me - which never happened. I personally called the store manager after a few days of waiting for a call I never recieved. I was unable to talk to anyone and had to leave a message and again...no call. So now I am 1 week with no refrig, lost most of my food, living out of coolers in my house, trying to save what little food I have, with a very expensive Kenmore refrig sitting in my kitchen waisting space. I have been a loyal customer of sears for a long time, I own several appartment buildings that I have full appliance in them I have purchased from Sears. Up until now that is. This is unexceptable and the lack of concern for me and my family is so unappreciated. I also have a lot of contact with the public and I am not going to be holding back this story to everyone I come across. Sorry your company will not even have the desency to call me back.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite refrigerator from the local Sears in September 2014. Found an error on the fridge screen which also shut down the door controls (water, ice). The part was ordered and repair man showed up after two weeks. He replaced the part, which apparently was freezing everything in my produce drawer, in addition to frost in my freezer. Three days later we found a different error report. Called it in and had to wait two more weeks for a repair man. Once he reviewed the problem, we were told that they had installed the wrong part and a new one was needed. He placed the order for the new one which showed up in two days, yet he is not available to come back to install it for three more weeks. This is upsetting and comical all at the same time. This time however, I have to defrost my fridge for three days prior to the part install. I have a 29 cubic foot fridge with frost in the back wall and freezer. I have lost a lot of food over the past three months and now not quite sure where all the liquid will go from defrosting. I have never had these issues with Sears products and am the least bit thrilled with their response and lack of sense of urgency or empathy. I believe at this point Sears should offer to replace this fridge with a new one and provide assistance in replacing the damaged food.

Around 5/15/2015 we placed a service call for water "leaking" on the sides of the water/ice dispensing area. The water was not emanating from the chute area. Service was scheduled for 5/28/2015. Later that day I decided to look into the dispenser and I noticed heavy black mold (picture 1 called "Original"). We stopped using the ice and water dispenser.
On 5/25/2015 we experienced poor cooling with temperatures ranging from 50 to 65 degrees. Most of the food in the refrigerator was discarded for obvious safety reasons. This is not the first time I have placed a service call about temperature problems (this would be the third or fourth time I think).
5/28/2015 repair arrived. The tech explained to me that there was not a leak but condensation building up on the inside of the panel that covers solenoids and wires. He told me that condensation was coming from the wire bundle on the left (picture 2, cover removed). The solution is to place putty around the wire bundle. I can see that this would prevent moisture from escaping into the area in question but it does not solve the problem of condensation in the first place. I wonder how much mold is inside the refrigerator that we can not get to?
Parts have been placed on order for the cooling problem (overhead light which contains a sensor. This was replaced earlier as well, and the evaporator cover which also has a sensor). I am getting tired of placing service calls for temperature problems.
For the black mold I was handed 2 parts to clean. The tech tried to clean up the black mold that was still on the refrigerator itself. I asked if he could remove the part that holds the dispensing tube in place. He said that was not removable (I assume the dispensing line is part of that assembly). The last photo shows what I currently have after service (photo entitled "finished").
If one does not get rid of all mold then it will just come back. That is a guarantee. As you can see there is still black mold. I will not be obtaining water or ice from this area anytime soon. Two things need to happen with the mold problem. First the reason there is condensation in the first place needs to be addressed. Second ALL sections of plastic, solenoids, connectors, tubing, etc need to be replaced. There is no way all of the mold will ever be removed! The mold will just keep coming back. Basically the refrigerator is worthless to me at this point. The next service call it to replace the sensors (scheduled 6/5/2015).
I have been using Sears for decades but I am now starting to reconsider. I am not sure that Sears cares about the health and safety of their customers.

faulty control panel
I have a Kenmore electric range model 790. Last night I was preheating my oven & the control panel sparked and started smoking. I was able to unplug it immediately & didn't have an actual fire. I have seen multiple other people with the same issue. I'm requesting that Sears repair/replace this part as it seems to be a manufacturing defect.
Recently purchased a gas range from sears big mistake bought on the first of march still haven't got it feel like i was raped by them they took my money and gave me nothing in return but headaches and nightmares to deal with!
This machine is (was) poorly designed.compressor failed in 1/--/03. Repaired at no cost with Matag compressor. Failed in 2009. Cost to fix was over $700. Not repaired. Buying new frig, but not from Sears. I doubt if the design engineers were competent.
Got a lockout icon. Unable to over ride. Stove still under warrant. Service department said would not be able to come out for nine days to look at and may take longer to fix if part are needed.
I registered for the refrigerator not being enery star rated. I was supposed to receive a monetary rebate for the use of energy. I have not heard anything, except the email stating they received my registration. How and when am I to receive my money?

Door of range has moved and thus heat escaping from top of doors and the light flickers on and off every time you walk by the range.
There is no adjusting on the hinges at all.

4.5 mo old fridge broke down. Sears repair man determines it needs a new mother board.
Fridge iced up, no longer cooling. Repair man tells me let fridge defrost by unplugging. Next repair time is 6 days -have to wait for new board.
Fridge defrosts and I awake to pools of water on my hardwood floor! Floor has damage, as well as a section of wood cabinetry. Why didn't the repairman warn & advise me of such happening?!
I found the drip pan and used a baster to suction out pan-LOTS of water. At least I prevented more water leaking.
No fridge for at least a week, lost food, bought a compact fridge in order to have something, then to have damage to floor & cabinet!
washing machine rusting
I have a 2 year old $960 Kenmore Elite toploading washing machine and it is rusting. I have communicated with Sears customer service online and over the phone. Was told I had to have a service technician verify rust problem for them to determine if the machine could be repaired or replaced even though it was out of warranty.
I complained about having to pay for a service call so they said to schedule a repair technician and once the rust problem was verified they would reimburse the service charge. (They did reimburse the service charge $63.13) The service technician verified that the washer has a painted metal top and that was the cause for the rusting problem. However they now claim that they could not repair or replace the machine because it is out of warranty. (Why did they have me get their technician verify the problem if they weren't going to fix or replace?)
Sears knew it was out of warranty before they had me schedule a service technician to verify the problem. I was told that once the technician verified the rust problem they could determine whether the washer should be repaired or replaced.
SEARS DID NOT HONOR WHAT THEY PROMISED TO DO! Sears promised to repair or replace the washer once their service technician verified the rust problem. Every Sears customer service person has a different story as to how to resolve or not resolve the problem.
I want to have this expensive washing machine repaired or replace and request someone from sears contact immediately!
Everyone reading this post please beware of Sears washing machines and their inconsistency in customer service. Do not buy SEARS top loading washers!
