Range
I purchased my range about 9 months ago. It's a KitchenAid. It has become my worst nightmare! About 4 weeks ago, we baked a chicken and turned the oven light on. When we turned the light off. It would not go off! The next day I went to bake in my oven, my oven would not function. The serviceman indicated a relay had switched off, and he switched it back on. We used the oven successfully twice and again the light would not go off and the oven doesn't work. We are now told the control panel needs to be replaced! And they are out of stock! We've now been without an oven now for about a month! Moral of this story, don't buy kitchen aid, the quality is no longer there. My 5 month old refrigerator also has problems! It to is a kitchenaid!
Desired outcome: A new Range or a refund. I no longer trust or want Kitchenaid.
5 door refrigerator freezer
Purchased unit at Metro appliance and more. Purchased the product December 12, 2015. The model number is KRMF706EBS, Paid $3689 for the unit including sales tax and warranty. Under original warranty and extended I had people come out approximately 3 times For various problems. January 20th 21 they had to replace the control board because freezer was freezing over so bad and it sounded like the unit was going to blow up. June the 1st 2021 we had to replace the door gasket as everything was completely frozen over. Still having problems with major ice accumulation
Desired outcome: Get repaired properly so I have a working unit
Refrigerator model krmf706ess - s/n k75016782
I bought a whole house ful of kitchen aid appliances, for my new house 2019. They have all been worked on since then. Also replaced microwave unit. Ice maker motor was replaced and has gone out again. The refrigerator model krmf706ess, serial number k75016782 ice maker motor unit was changed by the appliance stores repair center and I now find out that they did not install the motor shaft seals for the ice maker motor. The motor is now full of water and froze up. I called them and they appear not to do anything about it. I called whirlpool and then do not want to hear my complaint. I am pissed off about buying the products and if I would have known they were made by whirlpool I would not have bought them in the first place. They make or produce [censored] that breaks and then will not work with you. I will be replacing all appliances with something better I hope as they do fail.
Desired outcome: Send me the correct parts for the Ice maker Motor and motor, I will install myself
KitchenAid stove and dishwasher
I had a new KitchenAid dishwasher it was nothing but junk after four years old I then bought a Bosch what an upgrade, the best.
I had a new KitchenAid stove, had a service guy from Harris TV Appliance come to look at TWO times the first few months and he told me to buy new bakeware the stove was fine but he really did't do anything, a year later I bought a Bosch stove and gave the KitchenAid stove away .
If you take anything away from this DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID Products and buy BOSCH.
Desired outcome: I just want people not to make the same mistake I did
I agree. my appliances are all Kitchenaid. As soon as I can afford to replace them I will.
KCGD500GSS00 Cooktop ignitors all stay on when any gas knob is turned on.
I purchased a kitchenaid cooktop and just had it installed. When I turn on any of the gas knobs all the ignitors turn on and stay on even after the burner is operational. I hope this is not a normal operation and is an issue that can be resolved. The only way that I can us the cooktop is unplug it from power and light the burners manually.
Thanks
Desired outcome: Clarification or a resolution to my issue.
Kitchenaid® 30" electric slide in range & 30' wall mount canopy hood
I paid a lot of money for this KitchenAid range, bought directly from Whirlpool and installed in May, 2021. Since it was installed, every time I use the oven one of the heat vents in the back scorches and burns the wall. Probably a venting issue, not a big deal, right? Combine that with the KitchenAid Hood Vent that I also purchased to go with it, and paid a lot of money to have installed by an HVAC technician - again, beautiful and very expensive but what the heck, you pay for what you get and you want it done right, right?! - that collects grease in the housing that drips down the wall every time I turn it on.
Whirlpool (owner of KitchenAid brands) can't find anyone to come out to take a look at these appliances and diagnose and make the repairs. They keep saying they can't find someone in the service area who is available. Yet, I make a call to a major appliance repair firm local in my area and THEY can come out the next day - but Whirlpools says NO, they are not a Whirlpool Certified Repair provider (although they sell and repair Whirlpool and KitchenAid appliances and have been doing so for years). After telling me for over a month they were trying to make an appointment for me with a certified repair provider, they tell me there just aren't any available to service my appliances. And if you think I live in some rural area that is hard to service, think again... I am 35 miles outside of Boston, Massachusetts. So, I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor tells me he understands my frustration and that they will buy back the appliances, and is now sending a service to come an uninstall them and take them out of my home. Has anyone tried to buy an appliance lately? They are OUT OF STOCK and back-ordered for MONTHS! I don't want them removed, I don't want them to be "bought back", I want them repaired. I just put in a brand new kitchen with brand new appliances, and now I will have no way to cook in my home for months after paying extra to buy supposedly higher end appliances that have been faulty since installation. It's unacceptable that Whirlpool says they don't have the capability to repair their own appliances. My warranty says REPAIR OR REPLACE, and they refuse to replace, they refuse to allow any other service provider to even take a look at the appliances, and they will not provide any consideration for the cost of installation I paid already (and by the way, their own instructions require range hoods be installed by a professional). What sort of service is this? They are horrible to deal with, and completely inflexible and could care less about the hundreds I paid for HVAC installation and will have to pay again to replace the hood they refused to come out and repair. Bottom line - if you want to be treated like a respected and valued customer, do NOT buy a Whirlpool product. You'll pay lots of money that will get you nothing in terms of service if you have any problems at all, with no recourse.
Desired outcome: I want my new appliances repaired or replaced, as per the KitchenAid warranty.
Refrigerator - model #krsc703hps serial #hr94954335
My refrigerator was purchased in January 2020. The bottom 3 drawers of the refrigerator on frozen, cannot be opened. The top two shelves are not keeping any cold. I had parts replaced 3 time already and have been waiting over 3 weeks (since June 7) for the fourth part to be shipped.
I had purchased the extended warranty. Apparently the service calls that were made during the original appliance warranty and the extended warranty have nothing to do with each other.
I have made numerous calls to get this problem expedited because it is difficult to live without a refrigerator. Each time I was told there is nothing they can do, basically "sorry lady, it is your problem".
If you require any additional information my email address is: [protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: I would like the refrigerator replaced
I have had similar problems with my refrigerator, same model. They were able to get the original problem fixed but it now sweats. They did give me an additional 6 months manufactures warrantee. The repair service will be out in 10 days again. It is always 2 trips, one to diagnose and 3 to 8week wait for parts then out to replace the parts. A good company would recall/replace the unit.
Appliance diagnostics. Microwave
I have a 2012 36 inch microwave which is no longer made. The current models are not wide enough to fit properly. The model number is KHMS2056SSS3. I had kitchenaid service out to look at the problem, error code F2.H2 (hood key scanning) call service. I have been asking the service rep to research this to confirm that the part needed is no longer being made or available. This issue is related to the vent fan below the microwave no the microwave operation itself.
I called the Kitchenaid number for major appliances to see if I could talk with someone in technical support to diagnose this.
To my amazement and shock, I was told Kitchenaid does not have anyone capable of diagnosing the issue.
Factory authorized service tech has been to the house but the error did not present itself at that moment. Tech said buy a new one...since the part he thought was the problem is no longer made. The part is available on Ebay, but I would like to confirm its the correct one before buying it.
To buy a new one would require reconfiguring cabinets in kitchen, matching colors, etc.
Desired outcome: I would like someone from Kitchenaid to speak with about the issue so I can move forward.
Refrigerator
In February 2020 I purchased all brand new Kitchen Aid appliances for my kitchen. In November 2020 (under warranty) the automatic ice maker of the refrigerator (Model # KRFF305ESS, Service order # SWPNB227989A-1) stopped working. On November 28, 2020 a Kitchen Aid service man came to my home and determined the ice maker was defective. I was told the part would be available on December 9, 2020 at which time they would return for the installation of the replacement ice maker, which did not happen. On December 10th I called service to get a status on the part and was told it was on back order with a new date of 12/22. December 22nd came and went with no activity or status update. Since then I have called on January 12, 2021, January 25th, April 7th, and May 6th. On May 6, 2021 I spoke with Kim of the Product Review board and was told I would receive a $150 debit card to reimburse me for the daily purchase of ice (which I did receive), and they would provide me with a new refrigerator, free of charge in 3-4 weeks. I'm still waiting, and trying to call on a daily basis for an update. I have been waiting 7.5 MONTHS for a resolution to this problem.
Desired outcome: Receipt and installation of a new refrigerator free of charge
Faulty product and customer service
Purchased a kettle in Sept 2020 used it for 2 months and started to become faulty - the kettle did not stop boiling. It would be on continuous boil until the switch is manually flipped off.
I followed the instructions to report the fault (early -Dec 2020) and was informed that the kettle needs to be sent back for repair. Did this and no one contacted us for over a month even though the SLA was 3 weeks. Chased this up and was told there was a delay and they would need more time. Waited another 4 weeks still no update chased, was informed there was no available stock. Went online and stock was available to purchase. Had to bring this to the attention of the service team to then process a kettle to be sent back. This took almost four months.
Received this as replacement (29th March) - Almond Cream Kettle - Model Number 5KEK1222BAC KA SWAlmond Cream Kettle - Model Number 5KEK1222BAC KA SW
In mid-April after two weeks of use of the replacement kettle, it started showing the same fault as the previous kettle (which was the same model but in black). As this fault was sporadic we assumed it was only a one off however over the last few weeks it's become a constant issue. Water is on rolling boil but the kettle doesn't stop. It's a huge health and safety risk as it keeps boiling until dry and could explode and is also causing moisture damage to the walls and shelves above.
Called customer service and they again asked to send the kettle back for repair. Requested for a refund as we don't want to have to continue this loop of faulty kettles. The wait time is also much too long nor do we trust the brand anymore. The agent who answered the call on [protected] was very unhelpful and constantly only repeated the same sentence of "No, we don't do refund" to everything ask/said and when asked to speak to someone else "No, there is nothing else I can say and there is no one else you can speak to". The reason given is that Kitchen Aid could be scammed for refunds.
Already been through the repair service and it was extremely unsatisfactory and again this time the customer service is below par. For a premium product one would expect both the product and service to be of better quality or at least more helpful to resolve. Perhaps sending out a new kettle before the faulty is picked up!
Desired outcome: Full Refund
Refrigerator
Hello I am at my wits end and am praying you can help me. N June 2020 I spent over $5k at Airport Appliance on a Kitchen Aid refrigerator ($2400) and a washer and dryer. The refrigerator has been repaired 6x and it still won't work. KitchenAid will not replace it and Airport Appliance won't exchange it because the cost has risen $300 since purchase. We have spent hours waiting for repairmen and hours waiting for Airport appliance to call back (they rarely do) we have had managers bad mouth their employees and then provide the same service - rudeness and no return call. We have lost $100s of dollars in lost food and had to buy a apartment refrigerator off of Craig's list for $200. We bought the extended warranty. Kitchen aid's warranty doesn't cover replacement only repair - despite the fact that they cannot seem to repair it. I have never complained about a service experience publicly. I have tried to be respectful and calm at every point but we have gotten no where. I am currently unemployed and cannot afford to walk away and buy a new refrigerator. There is more detail. Please help me. Thank you for your consideration. Best Regards, Kari

Refrigerator
Purchased a new fridge. It was delivered on May 29, 2021. The delivery person connected it to water outlet and left. When I tried to use the filtered water dispenser, I found that it does not work. Tried to look at the manual. It said nothing about the dispenser beyond the fact that I need to push the button. Called the the customer support today, June 1, 2021. Waited for 1 hour to be connected. After that the person asked me for model and serial number and said that the service person can come on June 11. However, if that service person determined that the fridge is out of warranty, we would have to pay over $150. When we asked why it would be out of warranty, she said that only a technician could determine that.
Not only did we pay several thousand of dollars for a defective fridge, but now we have to wait for the service person from 8 am to 4pm and we are at the mercy of that individual to determine if we have to pay for his visit. We find that ridiculous. We want someone to rectify the situation as soon as possible, have a technician come within a window of a couple of hours and be assured that we will not have to pay for servicing a faulty fridge we purchased less than 1 week ago
Kitchenaid KBBL306ESS.
LED lights go out CONTINUOUSLY.
They are not cheap to buy.
Kitchenaid did a bad job on designing these lights. They should replace for free and they wont. If one light goes out, all the lights go out. Wiring design is bad.

Dishwasher
Service is subbed out to a firm Appliance Repair Specialists out of Bakersfield CA. They have cancelled three appointments, arrived three times with the part and broke it himself. This has been going on for over two months. They call and cancel appointments and don't find a replacement service person. This has got to be the worst service ever. We have already paid for the part and the service so it is not like we can take our problem to another firm without losing money.
Dishwasher
My 2 year old dishwasher had the pump go out and the service company had to order a new pump and control board . They received the pump but the board has not arrived yet. The service call was on January 16, 2021. It has been four months of washing dishes by hand! Do you have control panels in inventory and not have to get everything from China? I have an issue with all your parts are chinese. The Service company is Airboss in Tampa and I have my service with American Home Shield. Do I have to go to China to fix my dishwasher?

Countertop toaster oven
I have had the Kitchenaid toaster oven almost 3 years. I have only used it for reheating food. The on/off button broke when I pressed it to turn it on. I contacted Kitchenaid through the 800 number listed. I was told that since the 12 month warranty was up, nothing they could do. These ovens are $300, and I cannot afford another one that will only last 2 1/2 years. This oven has to be faulty for the button to break. I am 66 years old, and the oven looks brand new except for the button breaking. I bought it off amazon. I was so impressed and happy to get it, I bought a 2nd one for my grandson. Even though it was very expensive. KCO273ss, WP81012435, June 3, 2018.
I cannot see throwing the entire oven away for one little button that broke. There probably has been many to break, a recall should be placed for safety reasons. I would like KitchenAid to replace this toaster oven at their expense, since it is in the workmanship of the oven. I paid for a high quality oven to last for many years. It is dangerous when the on/off button fell half inside the oven, like a spring broke inside. I don't want my kids to try to fix it, as I feel it is faulty. Please advise. I am not wanting to buy yet another oven, since this one did not hold up. [protected], [protected]@gmail.com Oven was purchased June 3, 2018, button broke May 1, 2021. All I did was touch the button to turn it on, and it fell apart.
Desired outcome: Kitchenaid to replace the faulty toaster oven KCO273ss, WP81012435.

Update on same refrigerator:
My refrigerator stopped working again on 2/17/21 and as of today (4/13/21) Kitchenaid is waiting on parts. My family is currently at 55 days living without a working refrigerator. We continue to lose money throwing out perishable items (3 times) and having a faulty item that is non-operational 31% of the time (21 out of 68 weeks).
Kitchenaid customer service reps are nice but they have no ability to do anything outside of telling customers we are sorry and are working on it.
I asked to escalate my request and Jamie transferred me to Darleen out of Michigan. The UI part required is on backorder as 3/10/21 (tech visit was 3/3/21) and was told I have to wait 30 days before an alternate course of action could be considered. That puts me at 42 days without an operational refrigerator. I requested and was denied by Darleen to extend my warranty and/or offer any other accommodations. I am concerned this refrigerator will fail again outside of warranty which requires me to pay for parts and labor to repair a known defective product.
I was advised by legal counsel that after a reasonable number of attempts an appliance could not be fixed it would be considered a breach of warranty contract which entitles consumer to receive a full refund or a replacement which is the resolution I would accept.

I don't understand how your company allows a customer to go without a working (faulty) product for 2 months and not do anything.
Please help me find a solution and not an automated response.

Purchased and installed new refrigerator 11/13/19. The freezer stopped working and a few days later the refrigerator stopped working in early January 2020. Called and they came out to repair 1/13/20. They replaced two parts that control the temps in each of the compartments. On 10/20/20 the refrigerator stopped cooling and when I called for service was told the earliest someone could come for repair was 10/30/20 (9 days). This is twice in less than a year the refrigerator is not working. I asked about reimbursement for the approximately $300 of perishable items we have lost during these outages and was told the warranty does not cover those items. I also asked about replacing with a new refrigerator and was told they only replace if they perform three repairs for the same issue within a year.
I am very concerned the warranty ends next month and based on the previous track record this refrigerator is going to cost me significant money to keep it operational going forward.
I am very disappointed the company is not concerned how this is costing me money by having to throw out perishable items along with the the inconvenience of having to live with a nonoperational refrigerator for almost 20 days this year.

Refrigerator
My wife and I purchased a $3, 000 refrigerator Kitchen Aid in Jan 2021 from Lowe's in Kansas City.
In mid March, less than 90 days after purchase the water and ice dispenser were not working. I called the service number and was on hold for one hour before I spoke with a human. I booked a repair appointment and needed to wait a week until someone could come. Appointment day came and went and nobody showed. I spent another hour on the phone to set another appointment for another week until someone could fix it.
He showed and identified the problem . Of course he needed to order the part. It has now been eight days and I have not been contacted. We are purchasing bottled water and ice from the store because our brand new $3, 000 Kitchen Aid refrigerator is not working.
Faulty product and horrible customer service.
Desired outcome: Repaired refrigerator
Kseb900ess oven
model KSEB900ESS, been a disaster from day one, over temps causing oven to 500 plus degrees, burns all food and is a dangerous appliance, two services calls and a third one placed. We cannot use the oven, it goes into temps beyond the set temp and destroys all food in the oven, we have had problems with this thing from date of purchase, we were hoping that MADE IN AMERICA was a good thing, not anymore. We have an extended warranty with Alliance Warranty, (6 to 8 weeks to respond) we do not expect Kitchenaid to respond or fix this issue, and would be surprised if you do.
Desired outcome: New stove, or money back
