great replacement plan at kmart
On 1/27//12 purchased a $250 cheap 32 inch Sylvania TV at my local Kmart (since then it has closed). I purchased the smart plan for 1 year additional warranty for, I believe $19 for the year. In late October 2013 the TV just stopped working and would not turn on. I called the Smart Plan folks, they asked a couple of questions, told me to cut the cord off about 10 inches above the plug. They sent me a label to ship the plug back to them. Then about 3 weeks later I received a Kmart Gift Card for the purchase price of the TV + Tax.
My experience was very positive. I will buy another TV from Kmart and I will buy the Smart Plan Too.

what a rude customer service
I applied for lease and the company Kmart Lease and Go offered to help. After several weeks, they refused to help me and provide the lease. They spoke with me in rude manner, and without explanation the representative hung up on me. I was shocked, and I didn’t get why they behaved like that. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Can you provide any good piece of advice?
Sure I can provide advice, I am sure you were not very pleasant yourself. So they were rude back to you and hung up. If this is the case work on your own behavior.
leaving personal bag/purse at register
Upon entering the store at about 8 pm, my partner and I were asked to turn over our side bags. The bags are just big enough to hold our iPads, and wallets, and perhaps car keys. The associate said we could have them back upon our exit of the store. When we asked the purpose she said it was a safety measure that "security" demand they instate. I asked the associate if all bags worn by both men and women of all ages were confiscated and she couldn't tell me. I then asked about diaper bags and if there were a size chart to determine if the bags were to be turned over. No answer was provided as she admitted there were "circumstances" because people shoplift. Well I have NEVER been asked to turn over a personal bag and leave it at the counter. Who is supervising my bag? How is it kept from mixing with someone else's? If the store has a right to search a bag, I'll gladly follow suite, but to hand over the personal bag right away? Where is the security for me in doing that?
fake jewelry
Bougt 10kt 20 Inc rope chain good price. It broke an when I went 2 get fixed come 2 find out its fake!cost more 2 fix than wat its worth wtf!
new prescription policy
I brought a new prescription to Kmart pharmacy at San Patricio Plaza in Guaynabo. I asked for a gift card because they advertise that one can get a $10.00 gift card when you bring a new prescription. Joylan is the name of the cashier. She said that the employees were instructed that in order to give away the gift card the medication must be a completely new one (the patient can not have a previous prescription of the medication) and, besides, that the customer had to wait 6 (six) months to be eligible for a new gift card. I asked for a written document where all these policies are, but there was none. I have read the ad and I have NOT seen any of their allegations. I think they simply do not want to give the gift card and are inventing all this stuff. I urge you to find out about this issue and
charge them with lying in the advertisement. They also promote "satisfaction always" and that was not the case.
warranty is horrible
I purchased an Inntex Pool from Kamart last July for $199.99. I purchased the warranty for $32.99 for 2 years in case anything went wrong. I keep the original receipt and filed it away like they reccomended at the store. It is now June and has not even benn a full year and the filter is not working properly. I called the K Mart Smart Plan about this and asked to have the filter replaced. They informed me that thier protocol is to cut the filter cord off the hose in half and put a hole in the pool and mail them the square that gets cut out. WHY? the pool is completley fine and just the filter is the issue. The filter is removable by itself we take it of regulary to clean it and change the filter. I tood the women from the warranty place this and she assured me that this way the only way the warranty was valid. This makes no sense the Warranty is a scam they want to mail a gift card for the full amount. I do not need anything except for what the filter would cost or send me a new filter. I explained that it takes 3 days for us to fill the pool with well water. We also had to pay for a truckload of sand to put under the pool to make it level. What about all the time and energy, Why would we waste all that good water? You want us to waste water and fill a second pool that is so enviromentally unfreindly. What company would want you to not only waste ater but also create more waste buy pooping a completly useful pool and turning it into garbage. I know the warranty is not from K-mart but are they condoning this as a company, I'm so dissappointed in the warranty and this whole process what a waste of money & time. I will not waste the water I will order the filter seperate from amazon it is sold seperatly for $45 to $80 depending on the place. I will have the pool working again in a few days and not hurt the enviroment by doing so. K-mart and whoever does these warrantys should be ashamed. What a horrible way to run a company and treat customers.

bad experience
I’ve made layaway at KMart Department but decided to cancel it short after but it proved to be incredibly difficult. I was sent from store to store which didn’t do any help. Eventually I’ve managed to get cancellation but it took me full day... Very badly organized procedure.
Layaways are only applicable to the store you initiated the layaway in the first place because that is where your items are being held. Maybe next time you do a layaway somewhere you should write down where you did it.
pregnancy discrimination/hostile work environment
I have been discriminated against and treated badly by three major members of this corporation ever since I discovered my pregnancy. The store manager, the softlines lead Paula, and Tammi, who I believe is some sort of assistant manager. I was an employee, and I will explain why I left and why I'm now filing a general intake with the labor board. On the...

Don Hall seems to show favoritism toward certain employees and make the workplace more difficult for employees he seems to dislike. For example, I feel somewhat stereotyped by this man and there have been jokes made by him towards myself about being pregnant with twins etc, (this was before I knew that I was pregnant, I'm also not fat.) There is another employee who is farther along in her pregnancy than I, and she is never reprimanded for talking on her phone for at least 15 minutes daily at work. I was told that I could not work today without a doctors note. I am now 7 weeks pregnant and have already brought in a doctors note excusing me for two days. I have awful day long morning sickness, and I have only had about 2 infractions before I discovered my pregnancy. I'm very irritated and I will also be filing a complaint with the Labor Board. With nausea medications I am absolutely fine to work, and it isn't difficult to pick up jewelry when pregnant. I hope this is seen and addressed.

You gave your employer a doctor's note saying you were unable to work for two days. Most employers would require you to bring in a note saying you are able to return to work without restrictions.
rude customer service
Today, March 15, 2013 I went to purchase some items to this Kmart location. I paid about five items at customer service where Maria, the customer service cashier who charged me was very rude. I was not greeted by her no hello nothing no smile. She was on the phone the whole time she took care of me, only putting the phone down to tell me in a really annoyed...

Bought a Maylong Mobility Tablet on Thanksgiving day, 6:30 am. It was wrapped up until Christmas day.(30 days after purchased!) Daughter takes it college and it does not work. Brought it back home to return to KMart. I used my rewards card to purchase and asked for e-receipts. Do not have the e-receipt for Thanksgiving Day, but I have the receipts for Black Friday. They will not return this item, could not find my purchase since it was 90 days later. Was told I was out of luck and to contact the manufacture.
If it is a 30 day return how are you suppose to return it when it is a Christmas gift, which is 30 days later. Customer service was rude, Kmart needs to be more customer friendly and stop selling inferior products.

harrassment/horrible customer service
Last night I left the Kmart located in West Allis, WI (off greenfield ave)
I made a large purchase (close to $100) after wondering the store for anything i might need..
After checking out, and walking out of the store, a Large man(not wearing any for of Kmart id or security id) got very close to me and starting asking me questions... Such as, can i ask you about your purchase of cosmetics. Can we talk etc. (in a not so friendly voice.) I tried to get around hI'm as we live in a city and i thought i was going to be mugged or worse. He wouldn't let me pass hI'm and said he was going to call the cops. So i ran into the store and to the customer service desk. Where he then announced he was security and that he needed to talk to me about the cosmetics i stole... I told hI'm i didn't steal anything, you can check my purse, you can check my bags. I didn't take anything. He proceeded to tell me they saw me take cosmetic items and put them in my purse. I repeatedly told hI'm i didn't take anything.(i am now completely embarrassed and mortified) He took me back to the cosmetics where he showed me where i took such items. I continue to Tell hI'm i didn't take anything, i didn't even pick up a cosmetic item... He then accuses me of throwing the item in another shelf, before leaving the store, but reassures me that they saw ME take the item!
I am now in tears, telling the man i DID NOT take anything! After what felt like a lifetI'me of hI'm belittling me, he gets on his walkie and discovers it was someone else...
WHAT it was someone else?! I walked back over to customer services and asked for the manager. (one of the girls at the desk informed me that security is not allowed to do this unless they KNOW you took something! and gave me the LP's name (Casey) and number (who i called this morning as well, and was nowhere to be found and has not returned my calls) The manager on staff came over and blankly stared at me as I'm crying and telling hI'm what happened, then looks at the security guy, he tells hI'm the same story, and he looks at me and says all i can do is say sorry...
THAT CAN NOT BE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
pharmacy workers
I went to Kmart to get my grandma's prescription refill. I arriving the area at around 2:30 pm, a note stated that they were out for lunch and will be back 2:50 pm. Below that note was a paper for the hours at the pharmacy. It boldly stated lunch hours are from 1:30 - 2:30 pm. I waited there with so many people (elders that could barely stand, parents with crying kids, etc.) complaining about the long wait. It wasn't until 3 pm when they came. The lady there took her sweet time and seemed so lifeless like she hated her job. I waited there for over an hour just getting the refill and I'm VERY disappointed with the service at the Delano, CA Kmart.

I just found out that the person who was working behind the pharmacy was disabled and that is why she was working slowly. If she is disabled she should not be working.
customer service
I returned an item from KMart.com and the supervisor did everything but out and out accuse me of fraud or theft. A manager was called...and the supervisor actually called KMart.com in front of me to 'verify the price'... I spent probably 20 minutes there dealing with this while other customers looked at me like I was a theif. After she realized the return was legit, she quickly handled the transaction and gave me dirty looks. I had a list of items to pick up, but I left and went elsewhere. This will be my last visit to the Norwalk, Ohio K-Mart. I wonder how long it will take before this store goes under? You can't treat the few customers you have poorly and expect them to come back...

This K-Mart is a joke. I agree! They have some of the rudest employees here. I gave up on this location quite some time ago. There are still a few decent K-Marts in the area. This just doesn't happen to be one of them.
very bad service
I had the worst experience ever @ kmart today!! The layaway in the store was down so was the shop your way!! The employees didn't seem to know anything about anything & were extremely rude!! I went back to the store later after work because they said it would be back up by then but it was still down. I asked if the prices for the things they were holding...

My family and I were at Kmart for their Thursday specials. We were waiting from 10pm to 6am and a lot of people were letting other people cu in front. Also before the doors opened one of the employees came out n he said there was only 9 tv's left how could there be 9 tv's if nobody had gone inside yet! Another thing is u guys have poor customer service and your store is so unorganized. Employees were really disrespectful he had said f**k you to my mom what kind of employees do you people hire? These people don't know how to manage a store. Another thing was when we were in line in the electronics section we were in lane and people were cutting infront of us and the employees did not do anything about it. I believe u guys are going to loose customers. This was the first and last time I go to Kmart on a Black Friday and I'm never going back!

pension
I worked for Kmart for 33 years and after a serious accident where I was forced to retire, I applied for my pension. I have received 2 sets of paperwork at 2 separate addresses, showing incomplete information. I sent the final completed copies in mid-September and called again in October to verify that my pension was being processed. I was told that my...

I found Christmas lights online at Kmart.com priced at $18.08. Their original price was $39.99, then marked down to $26.79, then an additional price cut for their "freaked out" shopping experience. The "Now" price was the $18.08, which was 25% off and an extra 10% off for LightShow brand lights. I proceeded to place 20 sets into my cart, a waiting total of $535.80. I realized immediately that I wasn't being charged the $18.08 per set. I was being charged $26.79 per set. After trying everything I could think of to try and correct this issue, checking and double checking, why this problem was happening, I decided to call customer service, as a matter of fact I called three times, my husband called once, one email (which I included the page with the item and the price from their own website), which still as gone unanswered, and an online chat with a customer service representative as well. No help, no explanation, and now 35 hours later no more lights in stock.
I have remained calm and polite during this entire ordeal, knowing it's not any one of the individuals responsibility for this problem occurring. But, after checking online on several sites, I do realize this seams to be quite a familiar problem that happens with Kmart and Sears. So, in actuality someone should have some knowledge of how to either correct it, or compensate for it. It leaves the consumer feeling as though it is done intentionally, to scam the consumer out of extra dollars, for consumers to decide to make a purchase that maybe they wouldn't have if the price was that of the higher amount.
I am not giving up with this issue, there has to be some type of satisfactory resolution. I should have the option to purchase those 20 sets of lights at the listed "NOW" price. And, they should not be allowed to continue this type of scam on consumers.
In this day and time we live in, where people sue over a cup of hot coffee, or their motor home not being able to drive itself while on cruise control, Sears and Kmart should be made accountable, and responsible for honoring their listed advertised prices.

I just try to purchase candy canes with m&ms at the prices of 12 for a dollar sell and they told me that i only bought two. I had the receipt infront of me and they still did not budge. i had kmart. Will never buy there again.
Actually Scrap yards pay for used christmas lights #3 insulated copper wire :)
Some type of satisfactory resolution in my opinion would be for you to get only ten boxes of lights this way you would actually save money 2 times. 1) you would only be wasting half the electricity and destroying the earth less and 2) by purchasing only 10 boxes at $26.79 each would be $267.90 saving you $93.70 on lights that you really did not need in the 1st place. The 20 boxes of lights you bought last year and the years before are still useable and sitting at the dump slowly decaying over the next 1000 years.
The above would be a type of satisfactory resolution that you requested and hopefully you would realize what destructive behaviors you have on OUR environment in the future and not to purchase any more lights that you just discard year after year. And think of it this way next year by not purchasing 20 boxes of lights you will be saving $535.80.
Oh and also KMart is usually good at giving you the correct price if they made in error, but you will need to take a deep breath, calm yourself, put on a smile and explain in a polite voice why you think it was incorrect.
fired
I was fired, I worked here for over 1 1/2 yrs. The personal manager, christina cravens told told the manager she thought I was on drugs, she called my sister on friday telling her I was going to be fired on monday. On monday I was called into the office they said they watched all the videos on me for the last 6 months, telling me I was a great cashier, but I used 2 gift cards that were given to me to purchase items, and that was steeling from the company. Christina had no write to call my sister 3 days before I got fired.
