Credit card charges for pcm ordered blood exams
Date: 03/31/2016
Req Nr: [protected]
I have Humana Tri-care Prime coverage. I was given an authorization by my PCM (Dr. William Rodriguez, D.O.) to get lab work done. I arrived at LabCorp 15 mins prior to my appointment. The receptionist called me up to the window and asked for photo ID, insurance card, and credit card. 8 years of going to Dr. Rodriguez and now he is sending his patients to LabCorp. I asked why the credit card and the lady replied that if no CC was provided they would not perform the blood test(s) so I gave her my CC. A 1/4 cup of urine and two tubes of blood total charge of $983.00. Which seems outrageous. I have always paid my co-pays at the doctor's office and having to pay almost $1000 to cover blood work is a scam. What happens to those people that don't have a credit card or $1000 and are sick, do they just go home? There is something definitely wrong with LabCorp charging patients that are referred by doctors for lab work.
Resolution: LabCorp should ONLY charge a co-pay. Drawing blood is not an optional item when you go see a doctor, how else is he/she going to know what is wrong with the patient if the patient cannot afford to pay LabCorp?
Blood work services
On February 19, 2016 at the Galloway, NJ location arrived at 9:10 am for a routine blood work. As we arrive you sign in and sit down until, the young lady call you back up with your insurance card and paperwork for services. The workers that are inputting your information are the slowest people I have ever encountered . The lab tech are pacing the floor...

I had a prescription for blood test from GI Dr. near Mnt. Sanai Hospital and it clearly mentioned the test needed.
Went there Jan 25 2016 at 11:45 am.
The front desk had me fill out some papers and then nurse called me in.
She was going to lunch 12:30 pm and they close at 3:pm.
She wrapped my arm with two rubber bands and twisted my left arm all the way over to the left.
She took the blood all the way near the elbow.
She was rude and arrogant.
She was the second person at that office that took my blood. THe first time in Nov 2015.
They treated me so nasty and each time I suffered with pain in my arm and black and blue bruises.
This time was the worse and it is Feb 9 2016 and it is still brown and bruised but what makes it worse was they took the wrong tests and did not send them to the Doctor til the Doctors office called them to find out what happened.
Now the Doctor says since they took the wrong tests I have to go back again.
I called Lab Corp two days ago to complain and they say some supervisor will investigate and call me but that never happened as of yet.
When I touch the arm in the area with the discoloration it is painful.
I don't think the staff is respectful of seniors there based on me being 69 years old.
I wish there was a place to complain about this Company and I contacted my Medicare advantage Company to complain and see if they can investigate why they cannot take blood safely and why they are so rude and why they cannot do the correct tests without being nasty and rude and hurting me.
Services at labcorp-administrative & technical
On Jan. 18th, 2016, I went to Labcorp for pre-op bloodwork. The woman who did my admission paperwork was quite rude, and seemed uninterested in and unconcerned about me and the other patients who were there. This woman turned out to be the technician who would be drawing my blood. I've had blood drawn many, many times in my life and have experienced very...

The first time that I went I had problems with the staff at the Lomita location. They were very unprofessional. The woman acted like she needed some Prozac. Had to wait hours. I decided to try a different location in Carson on Avalon. They were worse than the Lomita location. I went back a second time to the one on Carson and found out that they had hired...

Asked for credit card to pay for services when I had medicare and aarp gap insurance
My doctor authorized lab tests and I was required to use Lab Corps. Personnel were fine, but I was given a paper to sign that said among others that Medicare might not cover the lipid panel for cholesterol checking and I was asked for my credit card as backup if it wasn't payable. I checked with Medicare who told me that the test was covered.
I did not want to give my credit card and therefore didn't get the test. I feel this should not be allowed.
Entire experience! 3990 sheridan st location
Arrived at 9:15am and signed in for my 9:30am fasting labs appt which I made online. I was immediately hit with an intense odor of feces and urine. Front desk claims the waiting area was cleaned each day but they were unconcerned. They laughed when I complained about odor and fasting not being a great combination. I was called up to give my ins card and...
Read full review of LabCorpBlood draw tech
Went to lab for blood draw. Tech had a finger out through glove. She couldn't "get a vein" in arm, went for hand. I told her I had a lot of lotion on and she said that is ok, put the needle in without alcohol wipe. Drew 2 vials of blood and said the vein was no longer working. I now felt faint. She tried giving me a sugar pill, a worker came in and heard what was happening and handed me a breakfast drink. I took 1/4 of it-felt better and she said she would have to use my other hand. She can't because I had lymph nodes removed on that side. She said I would have to come back. I asked her if she could send in the blood she took already for some of the tests and she said she couldn't they were contaminated-HOW COULD THAT BE? I couldn't go anywhere else because some of the tests being done where to be after a 10-12 hour fast.
Excruciatingly long wait
This is what I posted to the companies "customer support" page. "When we arrived for my son's test today, we were told the wait was 1 to 1 1/2 hours. My 12 year old son and I were subjected to a 1 hour and 50 minute wait for a blood draw. It was a fasting test. No morning appointments were available on the website for nearly 2 weeks. The individual I spoke with on the phone yesterday about appointments said a supervisor would call me back. That call never came. To force the staff drawing my son's blood to apologize repeatedly (unsolicited by me) is reprehensible on the part of your company. I wonder if anyone in your company has the capacity to imagine the level of anxiety that my child experienced? Probably not! Unfortunately, my insurer only uses your company. A copy of this message will be sent to them. I expect to receive no response from anyone at your company."
I happened in the Denton, Texas office today for a routine blood draw. First time I had been sent there. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I don't tolerate insolent employees. There was immediately attitude with the secretary. Waiting room full of people, and a single technician drawing blood. While waiting, a little 8 year old boy got called back with his mom. Now, no kid wants to be stuck - it's the stuff of nightmares for them - but this technician had to have hurt him pretty badly, probably as she was changing out BD vacutainers. It made the entire waiting room very uneasy. Finally, after waiting 35', I got up and left. There are plenty of other options. I called the MD ordering the allergy tests and told him never again and to do a bit of research before sending the public there. I'll go to my GP's phlebotomist where I'll be in and out in 3 minutes. Advice: PUT THESE NITWITS OUT OF BUSINESS. Do not allow your MD to send you there!
I had an 8:30 appointment at Labcorp for a test that must be performed before 9:00 am. I expressed my concern as I was waiting. When I finally got to the phlebotomist (after 9:00), the receptionist told him I was "paranoid".
I also complained on the Labcorp website. The next day a supervisor called, apologized and said that the employee will be retrained. She suggested to email me her direct phone number but never did it... hopefully she talked to that employee.
Unqualified and unprofessional
I took my one year old son to the Labcorp in Pasasdena, Texas off Fairmont and to start the minute I walked in it was dusty/dirty in there.Second there was only one lady in there and might I add she was unproffesional with her LONG gaudy nails that could be unsanitary and she spoke to me with slang! Third I made it clear when setting the appointment that it...

I took my daughter for her blood work at Labcorp location on 8503 Arlington Blvd Ste 140, Fairfax, Va. I regret to say that my experience was horrible. Do NOT go to the Labcorp lab at 240 MIDDLETOWN BLVD., LANGHORNE, PA for your baby's blood work. They were NOT able to draw even a drop of blood from our baby!! I have been going to Lab Corp for years and it seems that they have been sending me some parts of bills to the "wrong" address they took down from my doctor. I got an email from a collection agency and when I called to speak with Lab Corp about this, after paying it, I asked why it is my fault if I didn't know that there was a bill and they were sending them to the wrong address and they said they could not answer that and that it was basically my problem.
wait/no service/improper practice
I made an appointment on the website for May 17th, 2013 at 8am at Labcorp's West Bay Largo, Florida location. I arrived and was told to sign in and have a seat. After waiting nearly an hour I went back up and was told I was sorry that they skipped me and were taking other people that didn't even have appointments but what is worse is that they said they couldn't help me, that I needed a doctor's order. I am pretty sure I have elected to to have a routine blood screening (To make sure I did not have any STDs or anything I don't know about) at Labcorp in the past. I was able to make the appointment myself online and nothing stopped me from doing so and I really think I should have been asked my purpose for being at Labcorp before being left to sit there for an hour. When a person walks in, especially with an appointment, their paperwork should be taken right then. I sat there for an hour, I took off work, and fasted all for nothing. I hope you will use this info to change their practices. I am very unhappy.

labcorp sales rep
Just started using Labcorp for in-house labs for our patients-what a mistake! In less than a month, issues with the Labcorp tech either showing up late or not at all. When I had a "heart-to-heart" with our Labcorp Rep this morning, letting her know of my unhappiness, she ended the call telling me to "go to hell". No, I am not kidding! Unbelievable! If Labcorp ever tries to get into your office-run for your life!

rule of the specimen collection man
Just want to complaint about the specimen collection technician at Lab Corp Fremont in CA. The guy is really rude. Not sure he has racial discrimination. He is the rudest person I have ever seen in healthcare industry. He does not explain it to you well and he talked to me more like professor talking to student. He handed me the pen to sign and grabbed it...

The little worker Bessie Bush was, very kind to all the white people who she assisted but me I was a whole different story, first of all I had an appt. at 2:00 pm, I was skipped passed until 2:45pm with not one complaint from me, then when she finally decided to get to me she just said Lewis, Lewis James and the gentleman before me stood up and walked in, therefore I sat back down ans Bessie comes back up and says Lewis again, I said I'm the orther Lewis but that's not my first name, her response was maybe I couldn't pronounce it, are you coming back or not, at that point I beyond pissed and she continually made rude comments, after I finished I told the black nappy head hefer to go to hell, I will never step foot back into that office if LabCorp had some sense they would fire her ignorant ###. The bad thing is I'm black myself.. Ignoranant people should never work in customer service positions.
lack of company doing their job
My family has two insurances. Every time we go to get lab work we get a bill from lab corp. We call them they say its not their job to bill secondary insurance. But, I spoke to a supervisor and complained about this, and she said that there are four screens to billing, and the person inputting info does not do what they are required to do. They, Lab Corp, has even sent my daughters bill to collections. I asked the supervisor to send me a zero balance after she check with secondary insurance, she said some bills were submitted in an untimely manner, leaving labcorp to eat the bill. The supervisor also told me that she would contact the collections folks, and they would send me a zero bill. I am still waiting on this information. I recently contacted the CEO, CAO, And the VP of labcorp, no response yet. My complaint is if they do their job correctly initially, this problem would not exist. They want my wife to contact our secondary insurance and get an eob (explanation of benefits) for them. This is ridiculous. All I ask if they do their job, and these types of problems would not exist. Ive had problem for over a year now, enough is enough.
